King Charles Offers Public a Peek Inside Balmoral For The First Time
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 кві 2024
- For the first time this summer, The King’s Scottish residence at Balmoral will be open to members of the public.
Members of the public will get the exclusive opportunity to take guided tours in small groups around rooms used by King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Guests will be given a rare guide through two dining rooms, the flawing room, the page’s lobby and the Red Corridor.
The public will also get the rare chance to view the King’s watercolour collection - it will be one of the largest collection of his work to be publicly shown.
Inside the castle, there will be no ropes tethering off rooms because it remains a functioning royal home.

Anemia is an aristocratic disease.
Sounds nice. I hope the King makes a full recovery the same with Princess Catherine and Fergie.
From the USA, God Save the King and his family…especially as both the king and Princess Catherine fight cancer. As an American, I have always enjoyed my visits to England!!
That's great to hear, also you, your friends & family are always welcome to visit the UK again. We really like Americans here in England. 😊
Balmoral isn't in England.
Florida here...I feel the same way about the U.K❤
@@jaynekranc8607 He didn't say it was. He visits ENGLAND and has always enjoyed those visits to ENGLAND. Quit reading what isn't there.🙄
Our founding fathers rejected the old cult-like English monarchy with its evil history.
All Americans should respect those men and reject it as well.
God Save The King 👑 Save The Queen 👑 Save The Great Royal Family Members ✝️ Wishing a Speedy Recovery To Princess Catherine Of Wales ❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I loved seeing those vintage videos of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, King Charles III and his siblings. ❤.
Edit: May God almighty heal his majesty King Charles III completely and grant him long life as her late majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip lived.
Magnificent.......thank you!
Nuts! I've been to Balmoral a few times and always wanted to go in. Now I'm too crippled to make the journey from the USA. Hopefully The King will have some video shot.
Sending continued prayers and good wishes for a continued recovery to His Majesty and The Princess of Wales❤🙏
Pretty sure there is plenty of footage inside Balmoral on YT.
@@BellaRegina6545 I'll check it out!
Yes, you’ll be able to buy a video shot.
Oh wow, I would LOVE to go there! Living across the pond is a bit of a problem though.
Same. Especially when one is as poor as a Church mouse. But I a very happy for those who do get to go on this incredible outing. God bless the King and Queen and the rest of the real Royal family.
@@garylefevers With me it's my health, not permitting to travel. Hope they recover from their health issues. I would have loved to visit wearing my Balmoral Tartan blazer.
Well, save yourself 100 pounds and tour the White House instead. At least THAT'S free! LOL
God Bless King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Queen CONSORT
@@louisewelch5451 A Consort is quite properly referred to as plain "Queen", as in Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), Queen Mary, Queen Alexandria and so on.
I wish I could go. I always enjoy my visits to the UK.
We are so glad you enjoy your visits to the UK.
I wish I was in the UK 🇬🇧!!!
Me too
I love Balmoral
It's good, if limited. But Balmoral is privately owned and it needs to earn its keep.
Please show more clips with the late Queen. Just seeing these made me smile! We miss you, M’am. 😢
HM has had a lot of changes at a time in life when most people are retiring, wishing him health and contentment 💐
100 keeps out the riff raft
Are those prices really affordable for the average British family though?
Fully agree, they are not affordable to the average British family.
No. "Accessible" for those who can afford the prices, not actually accessible.
I think the public will enjoy this opportunity to tour the beautiful estate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to see Balmoral and the fact that his majesty is opening up more rooms for the public to see is wonderful! 150 pounds is $188 US and be honest that’s not that bad of a price!
And that includes an afternoon tea, which seems to be the perfect way to spend a day there.
I would say if you're going to the afternoon tea it's a reasonable price. 100 pounds is really high. Windsor is only 30 pounds.
@@jamesrawlins735
Yes, it would depend on what it all includes, but it sounds very accessible, plus viewing the King's personal artwork is a huge plus.
@@jamesrawlins735 it’s going to be small group guided tours though. Only 40 people a day! I’ve never been to Windsor, but I bet you’re one of a huge crowd when you visit.
@@jamesrawlins735Balmoral is extra special. 100 with afternoon tea is a great price, long live the King ❤🎉
Nice
Sweet horses. Thanks for sharing.
Balmoral Castle has been open to the public for many years. I toured the inside of the Castle in 2012.
Wasn’t it just the grounds and the ballroom that was available though? They’re selling tickets to tour more of the interior.
I have never been there but everyone else says they've only been able to see the ballroom. Which is not touring the castle, if you like. I'm curious how you pulled that off and which rooms you were able to see?
Wow. That would be incredible to see, especially the King's paintings! And compared to other events, a very memorable experience.
Those tickets are going to sell fast.
God Bless the Royal Family and
God Save the King!

Years ago (late 80s?) I ran across a book of Prince Charles watercolors at my local library. I was absolutely delighted in both his natural talent and his concern about the environment. Best wishes from an American Anglophile.
It will be a complete success, surely!
balmoral Castle has been open to the public for many years. I saw through it in the sixties.😊
Do you remember how much it cost then?
@@picklejuiceismyjam That would be painful to compare. Lol.
@@BellaRegina6545 I always like to do the whole inflation from 1964 to 2024. It's a weird quirk of mine.
Are you sure about that? Tell us, what did the kitchen look like?
@@picklejuiceismyjam It was probably free then!
Amazing
I am actually tearing up. Such a wonderful initiative. ☀️🌷👑
Will we get a UA-cam tour as well?
Praying for our people's King Charles and princess Kate's full recovery. God bless our courageous prince William and Queen Camilla. Love you all. ❤
Was lovely to see clips of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II again, corgis and family. The fell ponies are spectacular. The King's watercolour collection must be interesting. Hope King, Princess Catherine and Fergie are recovering well.
Make sure the valuables are out of sight. Imagine how many people would try to Knick something from the King’s residence!
They've been doing this with the residences for years. They know what they are doing.
I'd buy the Tea ticket in a second !!!
Fifty quid for a cup of tea and a scone? You’re barmy!
I have been to balmoral, Twas expensive you saw the grounds and the ballroom with their display only
Wonderful images of when, The... family.... We're... Truly............. . ROYAL *
Very lovely
How exciting! 👑🌳 It's a rare treat to see inside such a prestigious place! 🏰✨
I’m looking forward to the tea!!
I love this so much.
A subtle but welcome change of Royal Family approach from Charles 👍
Thank you King Charles lll 👑 for the opportunity to see inside of your family's home, hope to see it next summer🌹⚜️🇺🇸
God save King Charles.
What a beautiful castle.
£100 a throw ,very generous of him , or an extra £50 for tea .god bless the common man .
😂
Oh my gosh ….exactly … 😢
How much???
Very accessible
You don’t have to go if you don’t want to :)
150£ for a tour plus afternoon tea wouldn’t make this terribly accessible for most people. Even without the extra £50 for afternoon tea, there’s not a lot of people who could afford this.
People will find the money for this opportunity. You have to remember this isn't a state owned Palace, it's privately owned by the RF.
If I were going this year I'd find the
money. I've only been to Windsor and Buckingham Palace so far.
@@dazza9326 Neither are the others. Look up who owns the Crown Estate. The difference is that the CE is not managed by HM.
When people are paying $195,000 to go to the Titanic Just to turn into red mist, £100 is not a lot. Has anyone bothered to look up the Taylor Swift concert in Edinburgh this summer? £747🤯 Yes it seems a bit high but there are much worse.
@@comet1227 Lord, I forgot how much those ppl paid to be killed by implosion in a "submarine" thingy controlled by a gaming controller.
This is tremendous and many thanks to His Majesty King Charles, for this wonderful act of generosity.
Those tickets will sell like hot cakes.
They've already sold out.
So can I assume my attempts to find out what the heck a “flawing room” is was over a typo?
Drawing room perhaps?
I came to the same conclusion 😄
Will the king not use the castle as a residence?
He still stays at Birkhall I believe, which is his house on the estate that the Queen mother left him. Anyway the tours will be over before their summer vacation if they need the main house for hosting.
The grounds and the Ballroom have always been open to the public during parts of the year when it’s not in use by the Royal family.
People are only allowed in certain parts, just like Windsor when it's open and Buckingham Palace as well as Kensington, all residences as well.
What happens to the proceeds from the sale of tickets ?
Renovation of the castle.
@@fukeonglai7202plus with only 40 tickets a day that’s not a lot of money. Probably barely covers the tour guides and admin.
Upkeep costs, paying the staff, etc. Those proceeds usually go towards the upkeep of the properties.
That will be nice small tours Balmoral castle ❤
God bless you all family ❤
I would have loved to do this tour.
I can't wait to find out what a flawing room is.
I think they meant drawing room.
@@jaynekranc8607 You're a bright spark.
Wish I could be there to view the water colours.

they need the peoples energy.
In 1960 when I was 11 years old, I flew from Canada to visit my grandmother whom I had never met and we visited Windsor Castle. It made a huge impression on me and I’d love to return for an ‘indoor’ tour but it probably won’t happen.
This would be really interesting

what is the title of the music please? Wonderful piece,
I, as a member of the Royal Public, am so glad and happy with this news. I do wish I can get a ticket to this visit.
I think that £100 is really too much.
HOWEVER I presume that the money will go to charity. Also it is a privately owned estate, still used by the family as a holiday home
In agreement. However, I can see the afternoon tea being worth 150 pounds.
I wonder if they're still actually living at Birkhall, which is why Balmoral is being opened up to the public.
Only 40 tickets a day though. That’s got to be a very intimate tour.
Id say the money will go towards the running costs of the castle and tours.
@@bizzyduffy873as if he can’t already afford it

Could you possibly make a video of the rooms and King Charles III’s watercolor collection for those who can’t visit due to accessibility issues? ❤
