I think my bridge is going to snap to. I tried to straighten it (I did manage to get it a bit straighter) in the process one of my strings snapped (thankfully I had a spare one) that is how I got to this vid. 😋
Fellow violist - all you need is the A. If you’re not that advanced enough, as another pointed out, you can tune A D & G and just time C while simultaneously playing G. Good luck!
Also, Elektra the ant, they like violists - they actually don’t like YIOU. They love violists for being able to take a joke,l but said they hate people that have nothing better to do than actually troll them. Especially in UA-cam comments. I guess you missed the many videos they announced that disclaimer. Sheesh. Go practice

The A and G is like the absolute tiniest bit sharp but it’s really annoying 😂. Like it’s so small but it will be fine to tune to but I think that the D and E were a bit more in tune.
What Yutika means by flattening is as follows. A common exercise to get the tension correct and let the strings settle is to firmly but gently pull the strings away from the neck of the violin, pulling out that slack to flatten the strings, and then tuning them again. It'll likely take several tunings before you can get the violin into a reliable tune
My E string is not cooperating... Just got new strings and they go out of tune every few minutes while they are stretching. Ugh can't wait for them to sort themselves out! Edit: none of them are cooperating!

If you have 4 fine tuners (as a beginner I’m sure you do) then you definitely won’t break a string if you just use the those and not the pegs. If you’re still too afraid, just have your teacher tune it for you :) good luck!

It is a smashing exclusive guide for playing violin like a master minus the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my old buddy Taylor finally got great success with it.
AEDG I believe ! I'm a beginner and the same thing just happened to me but it makes sense going from a tighter higher note to a lower on why it happened , but I think since the video goes in order from AEDG, it'll be the safest!
@@eleanorbrockett6554 turns out bridges falling is a very normal thing, when tuning the strings add pressure to the bridge and makes it slowly go back, the best way to avoid this is by pushing the bridge slightly upwards so that it sits straight

I haven’t touched my violin ever since freshman year of high school… the tuning was very much needed…
