Every video, every min. I'm learning something. Great, practical, honest, steady, no nonsense delivery. Thanks. The 4K detail is ace on a 4K monitor.
Got my KE about a week ago and have been running it dang near nonstop and love it!
Been treating you good still? I got mine was printing really good the first few days. Now it's a bit problematic, leaving extra filament on supports like a raised lip. Catching on the nozzle and knocking prints off the plate. I'ma have to play with settings when I get the chance ... Pretty disappointed
I'm glad I came across your channel sir! Your honesty, knowledge, feedback, hair, and unique sense of humor makes me come back every single time. I was so close at buying a printer on black Friday. I have a ender 3 s1 pro that is kind of driving me nuts trying to get the bed leveling right. I decided to wait for the next gen creality k1 max whatever that is. Basically multi material version. Keep the videos coming! Thank you for the content!
"There's some kind of chips and stuff" said like a true engineer.
The v3 series absolutely rocks in mt print farm. I've run modified ender 3 and 3v2 machines for years and they have never been reliable. Stock ones performed even worse. I cannot believe how reliable these new ones have been.
This is the first printer I've bought that just WORKED...the only thing I really had to do (and I didn't really HAVE to, because it was printing fine)...the bed level was too weird for my taste, and I narrowed it down to the right Z-axis leadscrew needing adjustment to index is properly...as of 4 days I have probably 2 failed prints out of 50 just in the last few days, and those were just bed adhesion quick plate clean and I was back in business.
I fed it everything from good PLA I had, to old 8 year old, vacuum seal broke on the bag, twisted and kinked, sloppy rolled, breaks more than it prints Catalyst PLA, and it printed just fine, the only time it broke was after a print (because the runout sensor *does* put a little tension on the filament.)
It's not Voron fast, but it's pretty damn fast, and when I can buy 3 of these for the price of 1 Voron or a Prusa...that's an easy choice to make....they have most of the creature comforts. No more trying to find a raspberry pi somewhere worth the money to run octoprint, over the air updates, their slicer isn't my favorite, it's not intuitive at first, and some things are done in a dumb way; but it does work, and it has a nice little ecosystem that is sometimes handy.
The only real con is that it's not the FULL experience of Klipper and mainsail and all that, but this is also a good entry level printer, because really, it's kinda hard to f*ck it up....and for veterans in the printing world, we're getting to the point we just want it to work, we've paid our dues, we don't need to be tinkering anymore. Just print, Dammit.
Love your Creality reviews, please keep them up. Use to watch another famous UA-camr but he for the most part dropped doing Creality reviews some time ago. So, thank you once again! Also appreciate your honesty to:)
I gotta say Nathan this old retired guy has become a convert,
at first I thought you just lived in a mess and we're a totally disorganized kind of guy, but after watching a few of your technical videos I really like your down to earth manner and 3d printer knowledge,
so you've got a new subscriber here and I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a new Ender KE in the near future,
I wish they would have put linear rails on the Y access also so I don't have to upgrade that I've been printing on a tricked out anet A8 for the past 7 years I'm tired of bed leveling and constantly tinkering with the damn thing,
it's time to upgrade thanks again I love your down to Earth approach and honesty!! The wife has given me the go ahead for a new modern updated printer I just gotta make up my mind I don't want to spend over 400 bucks,
thanks again really enjoying your channel!!
I bought an X1 Carbon and AMS last week and I love it not having to level the bed is a luxury , I had been holding out on someone releasing a competitor to the XL but toolchanger printers have not caught on just yet!
I love your deep dive technical analysis "looks like there's some kind of chips and stuff" 😂😂
The Ender 3 V3 KE looks like a good update to the loooong line of Enders. Klipper is a real game changer, not only in print speed and print quality, but also ease of use. As always, Creality needs to allow full Klipper access on the KE so users can print directly from PrusaSlicer. I love that on my Neptune 4 Pro. Hey Creality... cloud printing sucks. WiFi directly from my computer to my printer is the way to go.
My first printer was the Neptune 4 Pro, I returned it because I got some quality assurance issues and I got this printer, wow the packaging is nicely done and the printer feel really strong and stiff. I can confirm that you can assemble this in less than 10 min. All my prints are good quality. I have no regret, in my opinion this printer is underated at the moment. My only complain is that for now the printer's root isn't accessible so I'm not capable to access all features in Orcaslicer so I'm sticking to Creality slicer for now, but Creality unlocked the root on K1 so I'm confident they will do the same with the KE.
Creality always has unlocked things after a few months. Sometimes they fumble with the keys.
Which printer is better, the Neptune 4 pro or the Ender 3 V3 KE?
Subscribed. Like your no-nonsense manner of presenting information. I'm not looking for production value in these videos, just good usable information...keep up the good work! Just purchased Ender 3 v3 KE as my first printer. Well, not quite the truth, I just returned my first printer, the Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro...kept having failed prints and problems with bed adhesion. Love the auto bed leveling of this printer!
I've still got an Ender 3 ... the very original.
Still printing fine, no upgrades, minimal tinkering done.
Impressive :)
A stock ender 3 with no add ons? Most people have modified Ender 3s
Thanks for the review I finally bit the bullet and asked for a ke for Christmas
As an undistinguished veteran of the 3d printing community, thank you for your cervix, sir.
Thank you for your strange comment
I presume you mean service, because I'm pretty certain he doesn't have a cervix. And if he did that would still be a weird thing to say.
@@RichardStrong86 you presume wrong. Thank me for my cervix.
My bad. You're just a weirdo. Got it.
12:42 Thanks for the noise level measurement!!! Much appreciated!
Finally he takes a look at it!
Great content! I just ordered one of these and it is my 1st.
I'm fascinated by how low sound it seems to be while printing at full speed. One of my main issues with the Bambu P1S is that volume while full speed printing. Also that included plate looks SO great compared to what Creality used to provide with their Ender 3, I'm ordering a couple of those shortly. Now just gotta find a way to have them all in the same slicer
Its pretty quiet overall. Great job creality :)
They have open source plugins for a couple major slicer programs
KE uses the same hotend as the K1. Has bigger motors than the SE and a PEI bed over the PC on the SE. The screen is a Nebula Pad, a smaller version of the Sonic Pad. The USB C on the back is to plug in a g-sensor for input shaping. They also have a compatible USB camera and LED light bar. I was able to get the sensor, camera, and lightbar for an additional $45. The sensor and lightbar comes standard on the CR-10SE, but is $100 more, although you are also getting X+Y linear rails plus dual z axis motors. The SE, KE, and CR-10SE are more or less the same family with SE having the least features, and CR-10SE having the most. The KE is right in the middle. The K1 would be the next step up from these 3.
Nice analysis. They will be adding a Ender 3 V3 COREXZ and Ender 3 V3 Plus COREXZ soon. Then a multicolor solution after that.
Where did you get the sensor, camera and light bar that cheap?
@@NathanBuildsRobots Cool info. I'd like a vid on that if it won't get you in trouble.
great review!
I love how you troll. The closeup using a slot screwdriver to tighten the Philips head screw on the display mount made me laugh out loud.
Lol glad you caught that. These are things I actually do though.
I saw that as well and realized the same thing. Rather painful to watch, I tried to justify it like "Maybe he just didn't have the right one lying around?" Thought about it for a second. Nope, just trolling.
Just Cancelled the purchase of the Ender 3 V3 SE and changed it for the Ender 3 V3 KE to get the WiFi option and some other nice features.
Thanks man
I have an Ender 3 pro at home. It's worked well enough for me to still enjoy the hobby.
But I've always struggled with first layer adhesion. Even with upgrading the bed and dialing settings, isopropyl alcohol, glue sticks, Etc. It has been the bane of my existence the entire time I've used it.
I'm considering selling it off for just a few bucks. Maybe a hundred if I could get it. But more realistically between 60 and 80. Someone that actually knows what they're doing will likely have a great time with it.
Think I'll save up and try to get my hands on one of these. That auto bed leveler seems to be a godsend.
It's interesting because I just sold my A1, of which I never had issues, but the new owner has 1st layer issues, even running my settings, and my filament. Could be latitude and longitude creating issues.
Good Morning! Short Night or wake up to early, because of the Hairstyles😁
Good Video as always ‼️‼️‼️
Loving the hair today Nathan
Great video, thanks for posting.
I am seriously thinking of buying this. I have a Prusa mk4 which is running perfectly, however very I do need a standby printer.
Could you mention what nozzles/consumables and spares I should keep in stock for this printer
hell yeah love that initech shirt! If only I had a jump to conclusions mat to pick which printer to get.
Looks like the KE is running the same MIPS processor as the K1. Interesting. That works pretty well for me on my K1, it's faster and runs the webcams better than the really cheap processors on the MKS boards you see everyone else using. Still strange to see MIPS floating around in this day and age -- but it does mean when you can root it, you'll use a process like you do on the K1 to get things like fluidd and whatnot. Not a problem, just slightly different. This looks like a really good printer, way better than the offers from Sovol or Elegoo. Creality haters are just living in the past, they've upped their game massively. You get things like Octoeverywhere and KAMP setup on something like this and it's pretty sweet. Default "Creality OS" is pretty plain, mind you.
he just cuts himself off at the end of the video, no comb, no cares, classic Nathan video lol
It also uses the same hot end as the K1, which I learned can use Volcano nozzles
MIPS, I think you mean the chips?
I think elegoo have better print quality. Slightly more work to set up due to the manual leveling and manual z offset
@NathanBuildsRobots which one would you personally choose???
Nathan do love himself some Creality. Those were pretty nice fast Benchies. Any idea what the total time on each was?
love the chips n... stuff :)
I counted them, there were 3. If it has more than 20 legs, it's a chip.
Good review...no jazz piano without a cameo from AuroraTech tho...what a schill for AuroraTech....
So other than Klipper what have they changed that’s improved speed the most. Have they reduced the mass of the bed and extruder that much or is there something else they’ve done? I don’t think my s1 pro would have a hope in hell of that kind of quality at those speeds even with Klipper and input shaping and all that.
I’m watching this after just buying the SE model…maybe I should take it back and upgrade before I put it together? 🤔
I am not quite sure what you think of Creality Hyper PLA. I have used it on my K1as well as on my Bambu Lab A1 Mini with excelent results. It gives me the same fine print quality as the Bambu Lab Basic PLA.
I'm looking for a printer, the first one for me. I want to print some automotive parts of the interior customized for myself etc. Do you think that KE will be enough? Or should i go with P1S which costs about twice that much? I'm looking for a quality/ease-of-use printer.
You have run speed benchy, but what about a quality one? Would it be perfect just like from P1S, if it would be printed in normal speed? Or even slower maybe?
Hello good video, the Kobra 2 PRO vs V3 KE , Which one do you think it's better in terms of printing quality?
I'm not spoiled!!11 Machine looks decent though, depending on how much access you get to klipper I might even recommend it to a friend.
With every release, creality struggles with the definition of open-source. Eventually they'll give root access, just like with the K1 and Sonic pad.
Hey Nathan, which printer did you use to print out your hair? Maybe you should toss it from the balcony.🤣🤣🤣
It's made of biodegradable filament, the print quality is never quite right with that stuff.
@@NathanBuildsRobots I'm here for it. Embrace the chaos.
It’s fun watching a “first look” video when you have the item in the video in another room printing something at 300 mm/s 😁
This one came out without an extended hype cycle.
500mm/s here
@@nicktopo8380 I just had a print fail at 200 mm/s, came home to a spaghetti monster
@@nicktopo8380 I have to ask, how the hell did you get yours to print at 500 mm/s? I can’t get mine to go over 200 without major layer shift
How do you feel about the use of v rollers on the Z axis? My first printer is a sv06 with linear rods, which I bought several months ago, so it seems that linear rods are easily feasible on entry level models now.
I don't think it matters too much. It's overconstrained but they seem to be properly tensioned and they experience much less wear than wheels on the X and Y axis, because they move so much less.
Looks like a good machine but what just made me leave creality was the single extruder option. Ive been getting by with a upgraded s1 plus for a year and i love it but i need multimaterial supports so i had to swith to bambu. To me a bambu a1 is a better choice than any creality. Printer with 4 material station is only 599$
Different strokes for different folks. Personally, I'd prefer to have 2 printers over 1 printer, even if the 1 printer can do multi-material.
Hey! Which 3d printer do you think is better, the Creality Ender 3 V3 KE or the Anycubic Cobra 2 pro? Thanks!
You printed 2 sub par benchies and concluded it was best in its class? At least the benchies don’t have hella ringing like the Bambu A1
First off, Go Pack Go! Second, love the channel and have watched a bunch of your reviews for my first purchase. I noticed your second print that you commented that you were at 150% print speed. Wouldn't that affect quality more than the color? Just confused, that's all. I'm trying to decide whether I should go for this, an A1 Mini or a Neptune 4. This video made that decision harder.
Thank you! Appreciate any pointers with the below. I just got one of these, after giving my first two to niece and nephews. :) Am having serious difficulty though, with Thingiverse part 71116 which is a flower-of-life; two designs, one with a circle around it. This printer keeps globbing the filament on the print head and then moving stuff around! Tried Ultimaker Cura (had to make my own profile, maybe I made some mistakes), and yesterday tried Creality Print with their *stock* KE profile, and it's still making a mess. Pointers appreciated, thank you!
Sounds like poor bed adhesion, but I’d need some pictures to know for sure. Can you join the discord? Link is in the video description.
The blue one turned out well for 150%, of the speed test benchy.
It may have been limited by the max acceleration of the machine, so minimal difference in actual print speed, but reaching slightly higher speeds on straight lines on perimeters and infill. It did turn out pretty well considering the speed
@@NathanBuildsRobots Did it report a final print time significantly less than the Galaxy Black 16min?
Would have loved to see print quality on something other than a speed benchy but great vid nonetheless!
On Monday morning I look about the same as you in this video, after a good party🤣
I think it's a great printer for the price point. I'm not too crazy about Creality given their lack of customer service. They sell a million printers a year and don't have the support staff to handle the volume of complaints from problem machines (e.g. DOA or damaged during shipping). So I would probably get the similarly specced (and priced) Elegoo Neptune 4 Pro. Everything on that is similar to this KE, PLUS they have the additional fan bar for parts cooling and dual zone heating. It doesn't have linear rails on the X but it does have linear rods which works fine.
I wish these ran a standardized 4-5 wire CANBUS to the printhead instead of 26 wires.
Either way it's pretty impressive to see how far bedslingers have come in the last 2 years to be able to give CoreXY printers a run for their money.
How steep of a learning curve is manually leveling on the elegoo?
Thanks for your review! I'm new to the 3D printing world and got my Ender-3 V3 KE and am very satisfied. But after around 50 hrs in, I experience huge problems with the adhesion of PLA models on the PEI plate. Any solutions? Already tried rubbing with IPA (when turned off) and usual cleaning. Thanks in advance!
smack on some cluestick. about every 5-6 prints i clean the buildplate in hot water and re-apply a fresh coat on the entire build plate. I've had struggles with prints coming lose from the buildplate, cluestick and regular cleaning solves it. I only print with PLA. other plastics might recuire other adheisives and buildplates.
Can you print yourself a comb on the new v3
Some questions:
- How strong and heavy is the filament? Can I make custom shelves for my kitchenware?
- How much does the filament cost and how much do you get?
- Does the machine have a significant impact on the electric bill?
It consumes about 100w in steady state operation, so if you do a 10 hr print that’s 1 kw*hr, or about $0.17 where I live.
Filament is about $10/kg just keep an eye out for sales
Good info NBR. Thanks for being a #goodshill
What would be better considereing the Creality sale rn, ender 5 s1 with sonic pad, or ender 3 v3 ke
2:23 yes you are recording :D
I wonder if Cura will upgrade to allow integration.
Just got the KE and haven’t had a successful print yet.
The benchy is stringy and not layering properly. I think it’s going too fast. The print speed is stuck at 100% on the display settings. How can I lower it
I'm waiting for my KE to arrive. Can i use regular PLA filament like Esun Silk PLA? I haven't purchased Hyper PLA yet.
HELL YEAH NBR VIDEO
How does this compare to CR-10 SE in terms of print quality, speed, features, etc?
I think micro center has the SE for $150. Probably in store only. That is a ton of value
It's for new customers only. I'm sure you could just sign up with a different email or something though
I just bought a Kingroon KLP1 to replace my modded Ender3 and I'm never going to back to a bed-slinger. Less than $400 gets you Klipper with stylus, wifi or lan, usb for webcam, direct extruder, an induction probe, enclosure, coreXY movement on linear rails on all axis and all the benefits of that, compatible with E3D nozzles...I have to relocate the touchpad, change out the tinted window panels that came with it, and build an riser for the lid. Replace with new Bondtech CHT BI-Metal for printing PA-12 and good to go. Basically I'm saying that this will be the new best for buck machine until Creality decides to build something to match it, and then Creality will load it with cloud BS.
I'm going to rebuild the Ender3 into something like an Ender5 with a Makertech switching hotend setup and 310x310 bed, mainly just because I have to do something with all the spare parts I have laying around. Multi-material printers are still way too expensive.
Dude who's your barber🤣
I’ve been using the base Ender 3 for about 3 years and besides the speed I have no complaints about it ( have had plenty of time to fine tune it ) mainly reason I’m looking at the K3 version is the speed. How much faster can this print and still look good?
I got the v3 se version atm,and I made a custom, dynamic quality profile, where I lowered the printspeed to 60ms,instead of its usual 180ms,and I still beats the v2 or v1 version by miles in terms of printing time. On 180ms it just blows them away, but you get a slightly less quality print.
Is there a Multi Material Unit announced?
I think Creality (and other manufacturers) are doing it wrong when they're sending printer to Nathan to review... They should be hiding treats and such inside their machines! Like, when Nathan opens the printer for us to see, why wouldn't there be a little candy bar for him as a reward? I feel like that would be a nice gesture.
I think live bees would be a far more entertaining surprise.
I would also accepts stacks of US currency
Chinese candy bar?
Wtf? Are you serious? 😂😂
@@NathanBuildsRobotsI heard the music while its printing and instantly thought: "Oh did youtube switch to one of Auroras Videos" 😂
How long did your ender 3 V3 KE take to arrive? Did you buy it directly from Creality?
Does any one know how to calibrate the e-steps on the ender 3 v3 ke
12:41 The noise varies with distance. I didn't see that you measured 1m. So what should I compare it to? How do I measure mine?
I always measure 1 arms length away, which usually ends up being a little under 1M
When's the V3 coming out? The core XZ seems insane.
Its an odd machine. I think it makes more sense to get a K1 or the Ender 3 V3 KE.
The V3 is in a middle ground that is super interesting, but not as optimal as the slightly more expensive and less expensive offerings.
a got my K1 two days a go and love it,
compare to may crappy tevoup hydra.
How is KE compared to K1
K1 is better in pretty much every measurable way. And at Black Friday pricing the K1 was definitely the better deal. But now at normal pricing, they are pretty much equal on value, with the k1 being better but more expensive
Hi! Which one do you think it's better in terms of printing quality? Neptune 4 pro or v3 KE?
Neptune 4 has better quality, KE is easier to use
Hi, do you have any recommendations for me on which slicer to use? Or what parameters for prusaslicer? (PLA)
Any of the older Ender 3 profiles should work
I thought this was the core x z ender 3 you uploaded a short video of
That one will probably come next year. Both a standard 220x220 and a plus 300x300 model. The Plus should be interesting
Same music as aurora tech ?
Honestly the ke, dollar for dollar is the best printer I have bought.
Who is bambu lab? Never heard of her.
Nice
That same music like Aurora used during printing 😂
Mfw I was thinking on buying it but ended up buying a K1 instead because of the crazy prices on 11.11

The blue one looks kinda janky, front top corner of the cabin especially. Insufficient cooling at that speed?
Yeah, some print quality issues, but I'd just ave to slow down a little and I think the cooling would be able to keep up.
@@NathanBuildsRobots How long did the blue one take to print? It was done faster than the black one by the looks?
Yeah, not seeing that $199 price anywhere for the KE.
my bad, I copied the price over from the SE. Should be fixed now. It's $279, though there might be some sales if you watch for it.
Aurora tech going to come after you with the music she uses 😂
Hello, I'm going to start in 3D. Which of these printers would you recommend, the ender S1Pro / ender/ ender KE or the bambu A1? Thank you and I really enjoy watching
The best in the category are Ender KE and Elegoo Neptune 4
Bambu A1 mini has better quality and is super easy to use, but it’s significantly smaller, so has many limitations due to its size. Measure out 180mmx180mm, that is the print volume of the mini.
They should be coming out with a normal sized one soon
@@NathanBuildsRobots And in those two which one did you choose? Thanks Nathan
I think for beginners especially, the KE is probably the easiest to set up and start using, since all the callibrations are automatic.
The elegoo neptune is about the same price, and has most of the same features, with slightly better print quality in my experience, but it requires some small manual calibration during setup.
@@brunocosta8842
@@NathanBuildsRobots - Klipper makes the manual bed pre-leveling on the Neptune 4 Pro much easier. I run the automated bed level and adjust the four knobs based on the displayed automatic bed level map. After a couple of auto bed level iterations followed by manual tweaks to the bed level it's damned near perfect. I save that and it's good to go. No more sliding paper under the nozzle.
@@Orion-redx7 yup, bigger A1 coming out soon. It's listed on Bambulabs' website.
So probably in a couple of months will see a review of a slightly better printer and so on. Starting to feel like the Groundhog day.

I'm pretty sure that's the original price since launch, they haven't changed it
He mixed up the price initially. It was always $279
Shame about that goofy big shroud on the front and the extruder. And it's a shame you lose the non-touch screen on the better model, but that's normal with Creality I guess. My ender 3 s1 still works fine, so hard to justify moving on up.
18:52 what fell?
It's almost like they did a 180 the day Bambu was released, like they were peddling known garbage because they could, but improved because they had to.
Why so negative? The printer is good a cheap? What more you want?
@@NathanBuildsRobots price is only a concern on the high end, I avoid all cheap products because they usually are cheap for a reason. I like quality over the lowest possible price.
Looking at this after getting the s1-pro for the same price…
hmmmmm, have you checked the return policy? :P
Yeah, I'm not happy either. Except I paid $400 for my S1 Pro. Makes me want to buy a bambu.
Can i use just a normal PLA filament or do i need to buy the hyper PLA filament from Creality to be able to print with this speed?
I use abs at 500mm/s
Using ABS is not a problem I guess because it cools down fast and it need high nozzle temperatures, but normal PLA usually print at 200 degrees and take more time to cool down.

@@calixtao1 I bought the CR-10 SE. I really like it. Very solid machine.

I want to know this too. The Cura slicing doesn't have the KE printer option to select
Congratulations on Creality finally making a bed slinger that is actually competitive for once. It looks like they still cost cut but did it in a way that isn't as much as a detriment to their machine like past models. I see they are still using wheels on the Z which is unfortunate but X and Y absolutely had to be rails.
I think dual Z with wheels is stiffer than single Z with rail, technically. Source: My ass.
