What SEO questions do you have? I’m planning our SEO for 2022 webinar and have a lot of good stuff to cover, but I want to make sure I answer your questions.
One thing that's still a bit unclear to me, is how to structure a website when it comes to posts/pages/categories/tags. For example: Is it better to create post categories and write separate posts for that category, or is it better to create pages instead? Like a main (pillar) page and pages for subtopics? And when should or shouldn't we use categories/tags? Would love to hear your thoughts.
when starting out...Should you have a Home page, or just have blog articles show from the blog archive page? also should you use featured image or not... I have seen videos where some channels say no featured image or Home page, let the articles drive the traffic...Confused?
Maybe a comparison of SEO for blogs vs SEO for You Tube? When working on both at the same time it can become confusing to make the right content decision of should it be on one form or both forms of content and how should I title one vs the other.
Are the criteria for choosing keywords for UA-cam videos basically the same as the criteria for choosing keywords for websites? Or they differ quite a lot? Please, talk about it
I've been blogging over 10 years and this by far was the simplest breakdown of keywords I've seen. This video definitely can help people understand SEO on a simple level and build from there. I'm going to incorporate the tips myself.
Hi Vermetta! I want to ask that in this video,Google's Auto Suggest is suggesting "road bike fitness" but a separate word "accessories" also appears in Google Search Bar so whether its mean that Google is suggesting "road bike fitness accessories" or its suggesting "road bike fitness"? I am confused here
So I have some articles on very niche topics that rank #1. While they may only bring in 200 page views a month I have noticed something. They have a higher read time and a low bounce rate. And people tend to click on related articles that I link to. So I view them as good engagement and building brand loyalty.
That’s awesome! Thank you for sharing. It makes sense that someone who searched something pretty specific and found an article that’s right on point would be more engaged than someone who found a broader article on the subject. There are some big benefits to mixing down your content.
Yes excellent point, and to add to that, while they may not bring in much traffic, the bonus is that long term, if you've still written a good article that can't really be beaten, you'll OWN that search term indefinitely going forward. These lower volume terms won't show up on keyword tools, so other sites that do things this orthodox way using tools aren't likely to write articles to compete. They're all yours, so I think it's a good foundation to build a site on these lower volume keywords and then move up to higher volume stuff.
As a former engineer, I'll say you can't go wrong with a good diagram! My P24 site is 18 months old and I found that my most popular articles are all around one particular type of yoga. And so thanks to your diagram here I've got a really good idea about how to plan my future articles and build more authority on my chosen niche :-)
P24 member here.. great video! One thing I'll mention is that as I'm learning how to do search analysis, I find that its better for me to do the search analysis in smaller chunks. For example, I'll find 5 article ideas at a time, write them, and then do search analysis again for my next few articles. I tried to do larger sets of search analysis and it just feels like I learn something each time and I need to be able to use what I learned for the next few articles. I think as I get better I'll be able to get to a point where i can do it for 30 articles at a time
For a "How to Start a Blog" playlist this video should definitely be one of the first, if not the first. It's like the bloggers version of a business plan. Thanks for the great content!
You know what I really love about your vids? They make me reflect. And I think its needles to say how important this is in general, but especially as someone who is still quite new to blogging😁
I've been watching this channel for years now. I think this is single-handedly the best and most useful video to date for beginners. I can't wait to see what you come with next!
Great info. I am still new to this, in my second month. It is definitely motivating to see the process work when planned correctly. Not saying I hit a home run, but my latest article has received immediate traffic from organic searches. I am slowly making progress. Glad I found your channel.
Being more specific also helps to avoid information overload. Everything you could ever need to know on bicycle maintenance might get to be a bit too much to digest and remember later as well. From a user experience perspective, I can imagine the more specific topics are more satisfying to read as well.
I do miss Jim in the videos, but Nathan is doing a great job too! Congratulations! This video is excellent advice. An image came to mind: of a building structure (site structure) that gets filled later on with walls, doors, furniture, etc. (blog posts).
I liked the intro! I think the hardest part for me is niching down the topic and focusing on a single sub-niche. I just want to write everything now, but I don't have as much time as I think I do to write and I end up with topics that are kinda spread over multiple sub-niches. Hmmm lol Thanks for the video guys!
Great video. I keep coming back to this channel for "continuing education" and have been getting lots of substance lately. Much improved over the last few months.
I have been trying to get started on my blog and niche down, but I have been struggling. This is what I needed to be shown to me. Now I can set up the structure of my blog with the topics I want to include and start writing. Thank you! Regarding SEO, I had to google what the acronym stood for, but I don't really understand what Search Engine Optimization is all about. It would be helpful if the webinar included addressing this for a beginner.
What an amazing, easy-to-understand breakdown of site structure! This may be a little more advanced but as I move my affiliate site to the next level, the things I'm really trying to wrap my head around is systems and tracking. Once you get a website to 500+ posts I think you need a system for updating, for interlinking, for optimising and deleting posts. It can easily get overwhelming! Another thing I struggle with is knowing my sales are coming from. GA Goals is ridiculously complex in my view and would love a better way to see this post ranks > this traffic > these conversions. Your running your business blind otherwise. This is where I'm at. If you could share your expertise on these kind of topics I would be super grateful! Keep up the amazing work guys, who needs Jim anyway?! 😂
Awesome video...Just this one video is going to start me on the path to get my articles started. Thank you Ricky and Nathan for this valuable insight and guidance!

I picked a popular topic, then I've written 10 articles that address that topic from popular angles. And I've interlinked everything, so I'm hoping this shows Google that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to that topic!
This feels like just what I needed! I was getting a little burned out with one of my websites and couldn't figure out what was going wrong. My question is how would this apply to a lifestyle blog? I write about Fashion, Beauty, and things happening in my community? Thank you in advance for any feedback much appreciated!!

Thank you very much for this video, it’s a good idea to map out your content before getting started. It would be great if you could do a real-life example of your search analysis method!
As a reader of articles/blogs, I want to ask to everyone here why I shouldn't just search in UA-cam ? No more reading, just listening. Nowadays UA-cam seems to have it all.
So helpful! I was struggling with this, and this is exactly what I needed to help me focus on my existing articles and their categories. I narrowed down my ideas to three recently, and I am close to completing my 30. Thank you for the help!

Hey, guys! Thanks for this tip. If you’re doing an SEO Webinar, I’d like to ask for corporate blogs. The company that I work for has very broad topics that we can niche into, but the problem is that these topics can start to get far apart (fraud management, anti-money laundering, risk management, auditing, and some others). Ranking our site is something we’ve always had trouble with and I believe a decent blog could help a lot. I’m looking to get my feet wet on our corporate blog and then hopefully start implementing this in my own blog. Thanks for the great content!
My question is how to start posting articles. Should you wait until you have a certain number to start your blog? I thought I heard you say in a video to start by putting 1 a day until you have 50 up? I'd love some clarification, thank you very much
4:24 How does he deduct those topics from cycling. Yes, with cycling it's the result of brainstorming, but take 3D printing for instance. How would you split that topic?
3D printing can be niched down to different industries and sectors: 3D printing for industrials, for medical field, then for example within the medical field, we can think of dental, physical therapy, and so on..
Thanks guys! I'm definitely going to take another look at the articles on my site and see what areas need some attention, and maybe what additional areas I can add!
I have a multi-niche website. It’s already 18 months old. I haven’t yet get better results. So what should I do now? Should i leave this and create a new specific niche based website? Or Try to cover each topic by 5-10 articles in my multi-niche site?
I think I started maybe with too many subcategories in the fear of being too niched...I will focus on two or three subcategories - thanks Ricky & Nathan!
Perfect, simple, actionable advice! Thank you so much!! I'm going to go plan my 30 articles now. My SEO question: I have a blog that is 10 years old. I've written content consistently and have over 700 articles now. My topics are all over the board. Question: what should I do with the posts that--as I niche down--are outdated or no longer "fit" my niche? When I've considered deleting them, I get a warning that it will result in readers going to a dead link. Thanks again!
My recommendation would be to create a redirect (simple 301 redirects is a good plugin for this) that redirects traffic from those posts to the most relevant post that you want to keep live on the site.
It's frustrating to try and think of something to write when you get a precious hour free. I'm glad you mentioned to have a hit list of keywords so when you sit down at your computer, you could just get to work.
I have a question 🙋♂️ could you please tell me if it matters what platform you use to host I run my site on shopify at the moment as I found it a lot easier. I’m 21 I tried Wordpress got quite far with the site but wasn’t able to understand everything in order to finish my site. So I’ve now moved over to shopify which I love but if my blog posts won’t rank on google then I will definitely switch but I just don’t want to Chuck all my hard work away as it’s taken months and months of my time to get the site specific to how I like it. Also GREAT video really helpful in fact you are the most helpful channel I’m subscribed on I’m a beginner but I know if I follow you and watch your videos from start to finish eventually I will get there. Thanks again

Wow I really appreciate this! I am just starting out in my blogging journey and I really feel like you hit all the beginner questions on the head. could you please link your SEO webinar? thanks
Interesting comments and insights on how to get started. I have a question about your research process. You mention in the video that it would be better to plan out 30 articles first and then do the research. Once you get started with the research, how do you take notes for it? Is it separate for each topic, or do you create a long list of resources? Would appreciate your feedback on this, as this is one of the bigger parts I'm currently struggling with. Thank you! :-)
Great video! I should check my categories and dive deeper💪

The video is great but what i did not understand quite well is how did rick know by googling that a specific term is low competition? how can we know that without using the traditional SEO tools? thanks.
I notice that even though a website has written content, online store type websites rule for the same topic even though they lack written content. Example 'door handles'. Online stores are plenty before a content website. Or maybe my eyes are still adjusting to the process.
#Question# - After watching lots of your video on Search Analysis I got the key action point except one part. @@zainulabaidin9343 in this example, it probably means road bike accessories and not fitness accessories.
Question: What is SEO? I understand it is Search Engine Optimization. However it incorporates so many things.
I'd love some clarification, thank you very much
Publish articles as you write them.
Totally agree with Gun. The sooner they are up the better.
@@KernowFay thank you
4:24 How does he deduct those topics from cycling. Yes, with cycling it's the result of brainstorming, but take 3D printing for instance. How would you split that topic?
3D printing can be niched down to different industries and sectors: 3D printing for industrials, for medical field, then for example within the medical field, we can think of dental, physical therapy, and so on..
Great video. Are all the subtopics also automatically the categories of the 'blog site' or are the categories chosen from the top-level topics?
Thank you Ricky and team.
Thanks guys! I'm definitely going to take another look at the articles on my site and see what areas need some attention, and maybe what additional areas I can add!
Great info as always. I'm feeling pretty confident on search analysis now!
Is it worth investing in a keyword research tool or is the free version good enough? Which is the best one to use?
Semrush is the best.
My site is getting regulars visitors but Google analytics is showing zero visitors from last 4 days. What should I do?
I have a multi-niche website. It’s already 18 months old. I haven’t yet get better results. So what should I do now? Should i leave this and create a new specific niche based website? Or Try to cover each topic by 5-10 articles in my multi-niche site?
This is Awesome, thank you so much, you two!
Hi great video, any more ideas on judging search volumes? Aware you have said lots of tools are inaccurate
Thank you great video that I know is going to help me get more content to share.
I can’t wait to get started. ❤
Hey Ricky ! Good to see you again. Nice intro guys.
My question is: What do you do when your top ranking pages drop from the top of page 1 to the bottom of page 1? How do you up your SEO game?
Battleship method. They explain it in a video.
@@treasuredetection3164 thank you
I think I started maybe with too many subcategories in the fear of being too niched...I will focus on two or three subcategories - thanks Ricky & Nathan!
Looking forward to the webinar!
Is schema markup important for SEO anymore? Advise on the best way to schema markups, the types and the best way to insert schema markups
Great video guys. Wish I’d known this back when I started 2 years ago. Took me over a year to figure this out and start writing little cluster topics
It's frustrating to try and think of something to write when you get a precious hour free. I'm glad you mentioned to have a hit list of keywords so when you sit down at your computer, you could just get to work.
SEO Question: Are keyword tools such as Ahrefs a reliable source of information for keywords analysis and do you use them?
Thank you
I have a question 🙋♂️ could you please tell me if it matters what platform you use to host I run my site on shopify at the moment as I found it a lot easier.
Thank you very much for the video. I find the video very helpful. Please share more SEO tips with us!
Trying to soak in all the keyword hints I can get! It's simple, but not easy.
Excellent video as always. I've been doing a lot of thinking as to how I can apply this to my website, and whether I'm doing it properly or not.
Hi, this was an excellent and detailed description of what to and not to do concerning Niche! Thanks for sharing this.
I have yet to start to do anything, unless you consider thinking about Online Marketing, this to support our pensions! If you have any suggestions, Links you can advise me to benefit from, I'd be thankful for these.
Thanks again.
Where is the best place to research topics??
Wow I really appreciate this! I am just starting out in my blogging journey and I really feel like you hit all the beginner questions on the head. could you please link your SEO webinar? thanks
Here it is! ua-cam.com/video/wGtcEFjD81I/v-deo.html
Very helpful breakdown! I'll give this a shot for sure!
Thank you! :-)
Great explanation of the keyword and niche process. :)
Thanks, guys! I'd love to see some videos about how to best use an email list. How do you convert subscribers into more views and revenue?
Great video! I should check my categories and dive deeper💪
The video is great but what i did not understand quite well is how did rick know by googling that a specific term is low competition? how can we know that without using the traditional SEO tools? thanks.
You guys should provide a service to review and critique search analysis
Awesome as always guys. Keep it up
I notice that even though a website has written content, online store type websites rule for the same topic even though they lack written content. Example 'door handles'. Online stores are plenty before a content website. Or maybe my eyes are still adjusting to the process.
Why the site hitting a plateau for 2-3 months??🐒 What we can do to get out from it?? 🤔🤔
How do you choose which niche to build your site around?
#Question# - After watching lots of your video on Search Analysis I got the key action point except one part. How would a newbie will guess if the topic is too niche like Nathen said which has very few search volume and a topic that has atleast sufficient search volume worth writing article on it ? ... I really like your video as I feel no one else on UA-cam is sharing such an outstanding useful information like you guys. Lots of love ❤️
