@@sartoris9439 I think that’s a little harsh, they did pretty well for themselves even if they weren’t highly publicized or a nationwide act. They were the first release on Slash Records, had multiple songs in Repo Man, had multiple tracks on the Repo Man soundtrack which sold extremely well, backed Bob Dylan up on Letterman in front of millions and kept their heads and ideals throughout it all. I get that they weren’t exactly Nirvana, but for a 70s Latino first gen LA Punk band that’s pretty good.
Great song the Plugz at their finest ! A bit of trivia is that it was on the soundtrack to the classic 80's porno movie New Wave Hookers starring Traci Lords and Ginger Lynn along with Electrify Me and other songs. They also did all the incidental music to the film under the name "The Sockets".
That was the first porno I ever saw! I was in 6th grade at my buddy's house and he stole it from his dad. Just a year later, Traci Lords turned 18 and revealed to the world that she had started in the porn industry at the age of 16! Thus, instantly all of her porn films became illegal! I wonder if she planned it that way?
Thank you so much for posting....one of my absolute favorites!! Regarding the lyrics, he says "sitting on blue couches", not "sitting on the couches"!! Hope that helps! Thank you once again! 👍💙💙
Thank You!!! Seriously....this song means so much and is so cool for me...Don't know ya...but forever in your debt for putting this up...Tito & Co. at their best...
Finally. Found it! Could not remember the group, and did not know the title. So kept trying with the hook line. THAT I remembered; Still an idiot, and still in love.....
@BrickPepper Real glad you appreciate it! It really is a very good song, and it means so much to a lot of us I'm sure. Many thanks for your comment, made me smile :)
wow, really nice. somehow never listened to these guys before, i'm impressed. halfway between southside johnny and voodoo glow skulls is my first impression.
***** Yeah I listened to Repo Man again. I guess I never noticed Plugz b/c I was too psyched about Black Flag, Circle Jerks, ST, and Iggy. Besides that I found these guys debut album, which had a different, more raw sound.
Come from Reel Ten and searched The Plugz and this was the first video I played ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ THANK GOD I'M KNOWING SOME GOOD MUSIC 03:12 am ,sep 18, 2019
The Plugz should have been huge. Yeah, sure, this song is just not 'radio ready'. Now drink your Coke Zero and do as you're told, droid. The Plugz made music but the hacks in suits decided we needed more T-Rex and zero Plugz. The Plugz deserved to be heard and we deserved to hear them.
Tito's later and the Cruzados..really just the Plugz rebranded...also did this track, but for my money this is THE take of this track....altho I remember hearing the Cruzados version on KLOS when it was released back in the 80s. But this version is the winner winner chicken dinner.
The Plugs also recorded a version of Blue Sofa as the Cruzados on their After Dark. It uses fool instead of idiot for some reason. It is also not as a song, nor are the Cruzados as good a band.

What'd he have to say about playing with Dylan on Letterman? Anything interesting?
Max Palmer!

What a fantastic song. The Plugz were an amazing band that never had a chance.
Why not?

Max Palmer is the SHIT!
Saxaphone sound is so poweful, love it!
I LOVE the Saxaphone! The chord progresion is solid too!!

Ginger Lynn?! ~What a hottie!

Nice trivia!
The intro in the guitar and the sax, hit's so hard! ♡
John Doe's "under the big black sun" brought me here.. I had a feeling I'd like the Plugz--- and, I do!
Great hidden gem of the past.
Such a great and under appreciated band
Holy domination of that sax.
This tune is a classic in my mind. Oh and verse 2, its "sitting on blue couches", "not sitting on the couches"...
Wow such a good song. I just fell in love with this band
still?
Soubds like a cross between beatles, bowie, and pink floyd. Holy crap! 👊👽🤘🛸
Great song from the Plugz.
I miss you guys so much!!! This brings back such great memories.
Repo Man ... and this ... ejemplos ... muy muy bueno
Why isn't this on Spotify

Great saxophone!!
It is so fucking weird that this only has 170,000 views

This is what Springsteen wanted to be.
Finally. Found it! Could not remember the group, and did not know the title. So kept trying with the hook line. THAT I remembered; Still an idiot, and still in love.....
I have a different version of this song, instead of "idiot" he says "fool" which sounds better.
gcord21 yea whatever
I love music i just Googled " Chicano rock bands" and here i am this is fucking dope tho🤟🏽🇲🇽🇺🇸🎸🥁
Ty Max ❤️
I can see how bands like Morphine came to be because of songs like this

Yup exactly! that happens with way too many bands, in turn leaving them under the radar.
917 baby
❤that sax
max frigging palmer
I don’t know if it me or her but i feel idiot and i’m still in love 💔
In the Tarantino world, when George Clooney sez, "Let's kill that fkn band" it just about sums up the corporate reaction to the Plugz.

PLUG!
TITO also did a remake of his song on the cruzados second album after dark
The Plugs also recorded a version of Blue Sofa as the Cruzados on their After Dark. It uses fool instead of idiot for some reason. It is also not as a song, nor are the Cruzados as good a band.
I think saying fool makes the song go a lot smoother.
sitting on *blue* couches

Why isn’t this on iTunes?
MAX FUCKING PALMER
Why don't they have this on Spotify :(
fuck man the plugz can do anything!

This song is the best reason to let them give the rights to music with no money for skate parts or other sports
found mistake!!! Sitting on blue couches, is what it should say.

I’m interested to hear what people think this song is about.
'sitting on blue couches' it should say in the lyrics
☠️🖤☠️
Max palmer!!! Loose truck man
Think the lyric is "blue couches" not "the couches"
I like the live version on "Evening at the Improv" better. More rasp in his voice.
