*I cannot believe it... I finally found this f**king song!*
Ever since I was 5 years old, I’ve been trying to search this song... but I literally mean this, I’ve spent over *5.5 thousand days* looking for this song. No f**king joke, i’ve spent every single day of my entire childhood and teenage years i’ve been trying to search for this tune. It sounds like i’m over exaggerating, but this is honesty something that has been pounding in the back of my head for over a decade.
Ironically, last month I heard this song played at a pizza shop, and tried to Shazam it, but it was too low to pick it up. Then it played a month later at a coffee roaster shop, and it was loud enough to pick it up on my phone, and I FINALLY FOUND!
My 15 years of searching for this song has finally come to an end, my stress is honestly, and literally no more! I kid you not, i’ve tried remaking the instrumentals, spent years looking up accordion like tunes just to find this song. I’m so relieve... that’s is honestly all I can say. Thank you :,)

I found it dad, the song that came on the radio the neighbor was listening to that time we were sitting on the front porch. I couldn't remember any lyrics until I heard it in a dream about you. It was the first time I felt a real connection with you and it was for some weird random song we accidentally heard. It was also the first time we had a beer together and the first time you put your arm around me and told me you were proud of me. It was all I ever wanted to hear my whole life. It was also the last time I talked to you in person and you were awake. I don't know if you know about me posting this or can read it but it feels good to say it. I miss you.

I was working at the Watergate Hotel back in the early 90's Matt Johnson was not able to find his room, because who ever gave him his room key forgot to write the room number. I was able to get him to his room and told him that I really liked his music. He made sure to leave two tickets to see him live that night. It was really a nice gesture from such a down to earth artist with so much talent.

The first time I heard this song was this year, it was my first night living in london and i was restless and homesick. I ended up on a bench in a random park and watched the sun rise. I put in my headphones, shuffled my recommended and this was the very first song that played. I had just made the biggest change of my life so far and I was terrified that I had made the wrong choice. I was completely alone in an entirely new country, in a huge city, thousands of miles away from everything i'd ever known. Hearing this song felt like fate, I'd never had lyrics speak to me so directly- it felt like the universe was telling me that everything would be alright. I made the right choice, I worked so hard to get here and now I could finally let go of that fear and truly start living. It felt like everything that had happened, everything I had been through was leading me to this moment on this park bench. I sat there and sobbed my eyes out hahaha. This song means more to me than i'd ever be able to put into words, I don't think I would've been able to be where I am now without it.

This song gives me chills every time. Such a beautiful reflection of hopelessness and despair, with just the right amount of irony and a little bit of hope to top it all off (but is the hope sarcastic? It's hard to tell). And the melodic complexity of it all...Just brilliant. One of my favorite songs of all time, hands down.

I just listened to this song, and shortly after paying attention to the lyrics, I was sobbing uncontrollably.
Nobody told me that living my 20s would be this tough, I just got home from my soul-crushing dead-end job. It's not the job I wanted, it's the only one I got, I have been battling depression and hail from a long history of being abused, just trying to make it out alive seems hard enough.
I think I've learned by now, that the goal in life is to live without regrets. It's easier said than done, but surely looking at things from a different perspective might help, it's all a matter of perspective or so they say.
I don't know if I will make it but I still hold hope, but if there's one thing to learn is to never take anything for granted, some of you have it really good and you might not even know it, comparing yourself to others will hurt you, don't do that.
    Surely, this is the day.

It was early November 2020. I got the call from the hospital. My beautiful wife was going into early labour. They’d held her the night before to keep her under observation. As I drove to the hospital, this song suddenly came on to the 80’s radio station that I listen to. As I drove, I started listening to the lyrics and they really hit me! I teared up. This was the day that things were going to change. Less than 12 hours later, I became a first time father to beautiful twin baby girls. As I held them in my arms for the first time, I discovered unconditional love. It was the day that my life surely changed and things fell into place. Having and raising twins is transformational. The last two years have had their fair share of challenges, but without a doubt - the best two years of my life. I love being a father.

Really? 6 mil views is "underrated" to you? Listen to Nathan Whitey's work, that's where underrating starts. No seriously, he's great, and this song sounds a lot like what Whitey himself would do

my life is complete!!! i've had lines from this song stuck in my head for the last 25 years and I never knew who sang it. I'd google the lyrics that I remembered but nothing would come up. I was up at 4 in the morning with insomnia watching trashy netflix movies to help my head and was watching "i feel pretty" and the song came on!! Thank god I had shazam on my phone and finally got the song. I've had it on repeat for 5 days straight going from crying to feeling absolutely amazing. I got my 20 yr old daughter to listen to it and she's like no wonder you had it stuck in your head for years mum. Best best best song - it brings back all my good memories of the 80's. So many amazing lines in the song - "This is the day your life will surely change!!!"

What an utterly wonderful song. Fiddles, accordians, synths. Upbeat yet downbeat.
    You could've done anything
    If you'd wanted
And all your friends and family
    Think that your lucky
But the side of you they'll never see
Is when you're left alone with the memories?
    That hold your life
    Together like glue

    Lyrics:
Well you didn't wake up this morning 'cause you didn't go to bed
You were watching the whites of your eyes turn red
The calendar on your wall was ticking the days off
You've been reading some old letters
You smile and think how much you've changed
All the money in the world couldn't buy back those days
    You pull back the curtains
And the sun burns into your eyes
    You watch a plane flying
    Across a clear blue sky
This is the day, your life will surely change
This is the day, when things fall into place
You could have done anything, if you wanted
And all your friends and family think that you're lucky
But the side of you they'll never see
Is when you're left alone with your memories
That hold your life together, like glue
    You pull back the curtains
And the sun burns into your eyes
    You watch a plane flying
    Across a clear blue sky
This is the day, your life will surely change
This is the day, when things fall into place
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
    Your life will surely change
This is the day (This is the day)
Your life will surely change 🖤

I’ve been listening to this song a lifetime and it never gets old, it was our favourite on an early Sunday morning on a massive comedown after being out partying all weekend back in the late 80s , funny enough the day never came that my life surely changed but that’s ok , it’s been good , maybe I was just looking for more then.

The musical group "The The " .. has always been great therapy ( through the years) for my personal internal fight with the disgusting misogynistic thoughts, ( cos in my case I fell in love with my abusers)
I had about my interactions and relationships, and my environment... So now I've reached the stage where I continue to strive in being a better + more caring, empathetic man, and a better human being.
( You live with the night tremors and flash-backs from events from over 40yrs ago on a daily basis. But you know what? You are a better person than your dreams)🙏

This song will haunt me one day. I remember listening to it when I was 17 after I got kicked out of school, smoking cigarettes in front of the fireplace drinking a bottle of wine I stole from my parents. Now pushing 30 and I still don’t know where my life is going. Good things have happened since then, but I was never present enough to truly enjoy them. God please don’t let me waste more time. I can feel the years getting shorter.
