      @chasingtheAmericanDream I would actually. My cousin just got out there Sunday and is staying for about 3 weeks. I would really love to work remotely and stay out there mid/long term if possible. Ideally, I would move every 3-6 months to get the feel of other cities/towns I am interested in. I wasn't able to go with my this time around because I am on a school break, and I am not trying to take any risks until I graduate. Haha.

      Ha ha, no problem. If you like you can send your phone number in a comment or your email. Keep in mind that UA-cam doesn't like people sharing personal information so sometimes if it notices that you're doing it it will delete your comment. So I recommend if you're going to send your email make sure you write down the name but then add something along the lines of "@ gee male dot Kam" instead of @ G mail If you catch my drift.

    Hello, I have lived outside of the US for 12 of the last 30 years of my career and stay frequently in Lakeside each year. My only recommendation is to let you know that your tone about neighborhoods and comparing them to the US tract style neighborhoods is probably not helpful to your channel long term. This neighborhood that you started in and demonstrated is lovely. Remember these are your neighbors and their values are so strong they are drawing expats like flies. Not just for financial greed but who dream of and desire, and even pray for... meaningful lives for their families that are not so materialistic. The Mexican heart and soul is God, Family, Community! Celebrate that and spend less time denigrating a walkway or a cobblestone road that to many is historic and cultural.

      @@prandall5503 with all due respect, I treated that neighborhood with respect and dignity. I DID NOT compare it to the United states (the fact that you assumed that I did is concerning and shows your judgement against me). I've traveled all throughout Mexico and I've seen very nice neighborhoods, expensive neighborhoods, run down neighborhoods, dangerous neighborhoods and so forth. In fact, I lived in the most dangerous part of Mexico for a year of my life. That area we were in (the first house) had graffiti on the walls, broken bottles on the street and dog poop everywhere. I never said that it was sinfully ugly but it certainly for a fact was not pretty when compared to other MEXICAN neighborhoods of which I was comparing it to. In fact, it wasn't even pretty compared to the streets that were surrounding it outside of that dead end. So again, with all due respect, it would be wise of you to reserve your opinions about things that you don't understand or see first-hand. And everyone has a right to their opinion. Just because you feel a certain way it doesn't mean that everyone has to agree. I've seen much, much prettier areas in MEXICO and I was sharing my opinion. And I didn't dishonor the neighborhood by pointing out the dirt path. In fact, I spoke about why it's there (to soak the water up). I was speaking to it's utility. It seems you think I'm an uneducated, ignorant gringo from the US insulting MX because it isn't "home". Far from it. Not trying to be mean, just being honest. But either way, Thanks for your comments and opinion.

      Maybe it's expensive now compared to what Mexico used to be before so many foreigners started making things expensive. But if you take a look at what they're showing here, you're talking about $600 rents and sometimes things are included in that. The utilities are almost as cheap as dirt. You can't say that about most other places in the United States unless you're living in some kind of an illegal bombshell. While it may not be as cheap as you remember at one point in time, it certainly still is cheap in comparison to the United States for many things.

      @@RexPonder-y6b I have to agree with @guiseppi when I say that there are a lot of things that are very inexpensive when compared to the United States here in Mexico. Sure, it's gotten more expensive over the years but it certainly has its benefits to someone who has the US dollar right now.

    Can you stop advertising as cheap rentals as that is not the case for the local population. Advertising as cheap causes resentment from the locals as they get forced out because prices go up as more gringos come in and pay the higher price the landlords place on the property. A better word would be affordable. Also stop tipping more than the locals tip as this also has a tendency of prices going up. As they say. Pay what the locals pay.

    • @chasingtheAmericanDream
      @chasingtheAmericanDream  Місяць тому

      As you noticed in this video, the prices were local prices. They were very local prices. The Gringo prices in this area are sometimes around 15,000 or 16,000 pesos for a tiny apartment... Sometimes much more than that (with nothing included). I was told by a Mexican just the other day that if it wasn't for the "gringos" in this area, the area would be like any other small, poor town in Mexico. He told me to keep doing these videos. You can take it up with him if you like. Have a great day.
