This was Homecoming in Ireland and they did London too, the gentleman in front of David on the right side in the blue suit, grey hair passed away the night before the London concert his name is Rex Nelon, so sad, they did the concert in honour of him.

Have you watched The Hoppers singing “Jerusalem” during The Gaither Homecoming in Israel? And Joy Gardner also singing “There’s A Promise Coming Down That Dusty Road” during the same Israel trip?

The gentle man in the yellow next to him is Dean Hopper from the Hoppers, he is very comfortable with David's high range there, since his wife Kim Hopper is a very powerful Soprano who has won the Soprano of the year many times, he is complimenting David there...
This recording is over 23 years cause i'm seeing Rex Nelon @ 1:13 and he left us in January 2000
If you ever come to the States we would be delighted to host you and buy tickets for you to one of David’s concerts at his farm here in tennessee.
Every Phelps song from this Homecoming is ridiculously good. If you can find "When God Dips His Love" .......oh snap. You have got to do it. May have been one of David's most magical moments (highest notes, too, wink wink).

The gentleman on front of David with the mustache and brown suit is Jake Hess. He was Elvis's favorite Gospel singer. I believe he sang at Elvis's funeral. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The gentleman who was sitting slightly behind David and had the amazing reaction was Stephen Hill. Stephen Hill recently passed away.

This was when he had just come onto the scene, and many here had not heard him sing before. This is crazy high, and of course David nailed it.
Lyle for pure joy of gospel singing you have to watch a full Homecoming DVD, David started singing with them in 1997,I'm not sure when they started. Davids full DVDs are also full of joy too ❤️😍

I think the gentleman you were talking about reacting to David's high note was Howard Goodman. He was the white-haired man in the front. He has since passed along with many of the older saints that were there. The Goodmans were a very big gospel group in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. You should check them out, especially Vestal, his wife.
