Very helpful, gf and I just bought a tin of folgers because the kcups we've been using are very expensive and honestly are a little too sweet for our taste, and we realized our reusable kcup is too big, so this is perfect until I figure out the right size. Setting this before I go to bed, and making a cup tomorrow morning 😊.
Thank you for making this video. I recently acquired a 1 cup Keurig coffee maker. And found after my purchase of reusable metal filters, I now need an adapter🤦🏻♀️. So I'm going with ur method for a bit. Very helpful.👏
I think in reality this is for if you can’t get a reusable one or can’t find a proper reusable one that works in your machine because depending on what type of Keurig you have you can’t use most reusable K cup things
Why a negative response? Why not, great video! Or thx for sharing! Positive comments only plz! Remember, not every video will be for you. So plz be kind with ur words, words can be so powerful. They make someone happy or make them sad. Be blessed
While quite inventive, the problem with this kind of solution is that it ignores the main reason people use Keurig..... convenience. If someone wants to save money, an easier solution is to go back to a drip coffee maker or percolator.
Sorry, but the main reason, especially if you are not just a coffee lover, but, a freaking coffee junkie, it's the finite accuracy of the TASTE, boy's snd girl's,the convenience comes from NOT, having the arduous task of measuring out jow many precious little beans that will be sacrificed each and every morning for my cronic java jolt craving. Lol. BTW. My fav is Kicking Horse Coffee, for the past 10 years, flavor..Smart Ass of course, I also understand EXACTLY why they hide their roasters in the mountains of the interior of B.C. I believe that their operation is just shy of Moonshiners Madness. Lmao .Cheers all, enjoy your Cuppa anyway you choose!
@@kidovthe1truekingahillbill586 This is because certain Keurigs are 2.0 that don't allow you to use non-Keurig brand K-Cups (or unapproved ones by Keurig). There's a hack for that. Just buy a coffee machine with a reusable filter and use better quality grind coffee anyway. The majority of coffee grounds in K-Cups is absolute crap.
The only thing about percolator you have to make it all at one time and nobody drinks all three four cups a day and one morning. I usually just like one strong coffee while we won't make a whole pot that's going to go old after an hour. My step dad does that instead of just throwing a coffee out if it's all he thinks you should drink it he'll even put it up in a jar and put in the refrigerator and drink it later on you can tell it's old when you had to creamer it always had a weird taste to it
Thanks for the how to...I wouldn't do this everyday, but when you run out of new K cups, it will get you by. Btw, I didn't use foil but rather used 2 short pieces of packing tape with no leaks.
First they already make pre-made refillable ones and you don't have to deal with this tedious nonsense. Second, most K-Cup grind quality is crap. Third, some of them are Keurig 2.0 machines where you have to use Keurig approved K-Cups, they basically have a type of magnetic ink in those aluminum lids that approve the coffee to brew. This really overall defeats the purpose of a Keurig. Just get a coffee machine with a reusable filter that quickly brews.
I generally use half cafe k cups…but sometimes I want to use full caffeine coffee or decaf…so I used those plastic reusable k cups. Now I bought a single serve Keurig for space and they won’t work in it. I don’t want to buy all three kinds of k cups so I have loose coffee in canisters I buy which last a long time…I’ve gotta figure out how to reuse a purchased k cup. At least till I’ve used my loose coffee…maybe later have to purchase all three in kcups. 😤
I wonder if a coffee filter cut into a piece and lay it over it instead of aluminum foil will that work shouldn't be really no more messier than yet it could be
Boil ground coffee in a pot strain perfect coffee all the time. Water must be boiled to infuse the coffee flavor this is the ancient way of making coffee.
@@buzztrucker yes...y commercial coffee taste good bec.the machine they used has extra horsepower to brew h20 to boiling point..compare to those coffee makers regardless of name brand bought from supermarkets only have so much wattage ..that water is not 100% boiled to extra the taste of coffee. Since then i stopped buying anykind if coffee makers unless you get it from a commercial company. I brew my coffee The old fashion way. 1blsp of coffee 11/2 cup of water boil for 4min when you smell cofffe its ready. Strain perfect coffee.
Yeah, it's called cowboy coffee because that's how they used to make it. Better than any coffee you will get out of a machine. You don't need to strain it, just throw a little bit of cold water in the pot and it will settle all the grounds to the bottom, works great.
I scribe to your channel I love the video I’m gonna do the same thing today I’m gonna go buy me a bag of coffee different kinds and save me a lot of money thank you for this video it is so easy and simple🌹😷☕️
You deserve a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 this idea just save me A LOT of money, IT works fantastic , thank you so much 🙏

It costs more to keep buying aluminum foil than a re-usable K-Cup, so I don't understand your concept.

...and consistency. My coffee tastes the same, every brew. Very important at 6AM
If they already have a Keurig they would have to buy a new coffee machine most people don’t wanna do that

Or simply buy a few reusable pods.
Ours isn't a Keurig and the ones you buy from the store the plastic ones the reusable they don't always work for other machines that aren't hurt

There is an adapter that will let you use other cups too I think.

In the name of all that is holy, just use a percolator.

Single best comment. Pod coffee sucks anyway, just man up.
They still sell those things? Do you have to get them from the merchantile in the mountains?
My Keurig was free I’m not gonna buy another coffee maker because I need to go through these extra little steps if I run out of pods
Thanks for the how to...I wouldn't do this everyday, but when you run out of new K cups, it will get you by. Btw, I didn't use foil but rather used 2 short pieces of packing tape with no leaks.
What would happen if it wasn't covered? Well it overflow? Do we need to cover it? Thx

So negative buzztrucker. Why bother leaving this comment. I found this video helpful and wish you would spend ur energy elsewhere.
What about the cheaper version?
Like the smaller version?
Usually advertised at
Dollar general.
Yeah the refillable cup is much easier. You spend the same amount on the coffee plus the foil lol
There needs to be an aftermarket one that has a snap on lid.
Or just buy one of the reuseable permanent plastic k cups. Available almost any store. This is ridiculous
Too much trouble. Just get me a Mr. Coffee 12 cup maker. I'm drinking the whole pot anyway.

I’m wondering if you can just save the used coffee pod and then later use it again . Or will it grow mold ?
That's why they said to clean out the used pod. Including rinsing and blowing it out so inner filter can dry out.
Stever, the coffee doesn't last, it goes away just like a stain in the laundry. 😂
What type of keurig is that?, my K-Cafe brews quicker and quieter
I don't suppose you can run the same cup through more than once? :-)
A few uses should be a no problem unless the paper filter inside gets moldy or has holes.
You are lucky to have an older version. Mine is the 2.0 and has an electronic eye (sensor) that reads the symbol on the pod, so you can not do that !
Para eso hay cápsulas reutilizable. Al hacer eso es dañar tú cafetera
Or just buy an old school brewer and eliminate pods altogether 😊
Sweet! Thank you.

Exactly. K-Cups are mostly crappy coffee to begin with and the process makes it so it's not that great a cup of coffee to begin with.

Your machine is noisy like mine, only mine is noisy after the brew is done. Do you think that’s normal? Just a curious Keurig, user.:❤️🇨🇦❤️
Yes its normal…mine sounds like this one for sure
OR...save yourself then aggravation and buy a reusable universal my K.cup...🙄

$10 regula coffee maker and done just get a filter a spoon and donde enjoy
Ah, the good old days when the k cups were less than 50 cents each.
Did not work. Keurig machine rejected the pod.
Perfect thank you
You know there are reusable K cups.
Better off buying a regular coffee pot. People use keurig for the convenience.
