Hey I came here because I noticed yesterday on my Gen 3 I was well over 400 mbps after an update. Can't believe my Internet just keeps getting better since I got it!
@@c4yourself319 It's a result of the increased density of the satellite constellation and the new generation of satellites being deployed. It should continue to get better hopefully unless user density really increases in your area.
Impressive! I've seen mid 300's in my area, which is honestly more than enough for my purposes. I really don't know what I would do with 1 gig or even 2 gigs. The good news is that download to upload is a ratio, so any increase in download capabilities should mean increases in upload speeds as well. Upload is certainly something I could use more of!
I guess I'll see how my speeds hold up as user density increases... but honestly in my area I can't see it outpacing the build out of the satellite constellation or improved satellite speeds. For my uses... the current speeds I'm getting are already far beyond my needs.
@@jakekisiel7399 Not sure if you'd see an increase in speed... the limits are more related to user density and traffic load. I would ride it out with your current system and see if the speeds increase as they add more, and better, satellites before spending a bunch of money on a new system.... unless your current speeds are useless and you have cash to burn. I've watch a number of Starlink videos comparing Gen 1 with later systems... I don't seem to remember there being a major difference in speeds.
I get around 250-300 download which is more than enough for me at the moment but what would be great is if they can improve the latency so that we can see better ping in online games.
Here in Spain 80km south of Valencia I get on average 250 mbps down and 22 mbps up on a gen 2 dish, although I bypassed the useless starlink router and installed a 3 unit Deco XE75 mesh. Dont need any faster, but of course thats now Im sure in the future we will have much more bandwidth intensive content to watch 🤣🤣
In Australia we now have two waitlisted areas, one around Perth, Western Australia and one in Queensland. This is the first time this has happened here, and you’ve just explained why there are quite large areas. I think we’ve had small areas go out in the high population areas on our East Coast, but this is the first time for Perth.
I live in the PNW just outside Vancouver WA. I was on the wait list for over a year to get my service. This area has a lot of population that lives outside city limits with no high speed Internet option outside of starlink. The fastest speeds I see are around 100-120 down. That's lightyears better than my previous seservice, but during peak hours it will slow to about 15-30. Just too much congestion. Still, I love my Starlink!
Excellent report. My guess is that Starship is deploying the large satellittes next year. These satellities have a reported 10/1 more capacity over the current versions. Also, in my area (north eastern AZ) fiber is only 3 miles away but the population density is low. Now that VZ has bought Frontier (FYBR), it will be interesting to see if VZ will add fiber optic in place of all of the obsolete copper wire for internet service and compete with Starlink.
While I live in the suburbs, my Internet options are kinda of trash because I live in an agriculture area. Been really considering starlink as a replacement if +500mbs down becomes realistic in my area.
Ditto. My Spectrum was down for a month and a half after Helene came through in upstate SC. After that, I swore off any more wired internet services. Loving my Gen 3.
Is it possible buy a second Starlink kit and just leave it in the box as backup, in case my current hardware fails? When I would need to use it, would that make it look like I have two accounts? I don't want to wait an unknown shipping time if that ever happens, and would prefer to have the spare on hand. Starlink support hasn't understood my question, and just gives a canned answer that didn't really help. Thank you! Likewise, maybe I could buy a mini system for backup and use that while I would wait for shipping on a replacement for the regular system. Do they still allow pausing the bill? I don't want to pay twice per month and only use one lol
Short version is yes you can. Walk into a Best Buy store that has the Starlink kit in stock, purchase it and toss it into a closet. I did this early this year and when my Gen1 router failed, I went ahead and broke out the Gen3 and set it up. When I went through the setup process , I chose "existing customer" and it activated just fine as a second system. I then went back and contacted Starlink and had them terminate service to the Gen1.
In Morocco, we have the most expensive collection in the world, 200 MB for $100. We are waiting for starlink to enter Morocco in order to lower the prices of fiber, which are fantastic. We want it to be $20 per month. If this is possible, I will be the first subscriber to it.
Regular people dont need 2 gigs... while it would be nice there isnt a residential need... Im pulling 200 - 300 with 25 devices on my starlink and runs great
Hey man, I can not find this information anywhare and Starlink support is not avalible in Poland. I wanna buy stralink for bussiness but they have this priority data and standard data. Do you know what's going to happend with my internet speed when I use all of my priority data?
The Priority (Business) plan includes a certain allotment of Priority data, but then has unlimited Standard data after that. When you change over to Standard data your speeds might slow down if there are lots of other Starlink users in your area, but generally, there isn't a big difference between Priority and Standard speeds most of the time.
I have had a Starlink dish for some time now, however I have not yet installed it on my roof, partially because I don't know how to install it or what method is the best, how did everyone actually physically install their dish, any suggestions? Thanks.
I have mine on a pole strapped to the side rail of my deck. It has full view of the sky, and I run the cable into the side of my house. It works great for what I need. I also have very easy access to it if I need to get to it for any reason

@StarlinkHardware alrighty, I finally received the wall mount so I'll be setting it up sometime this weekend, ran a first test with kickstand got an unexpected 280mb speed, absolutely love this 👍
I've had starlink for little over a year now here in the mountains of East Tennessee. My dish can rotate so should I get the newest dish out? Will getting the newest gen dish increase my speed?

I'm getting 400+ at times on my Gen 2 system at my home in the mountains of Costa Rica. Super happy with the system and service thus far.

Does this experience rain fade ? I was thinking about getting this for a place in Panama.

I installed Starlink here in Ghana, I must say, the device is super fine

I ordered mine from the Walmart website last Sunday and arrived today!!!!
@@flyprincess69 Good choice, I think units directly from Starlink have been getting their shipping timelines pushed back.
These speeds are crazy. I was a customer as Gen 2 came out and was lucky to get 110Mbps.

It's quite normal here in Queensland Australia to get 440 Mbps on a gen 3 dish

It'd be cool if they released 2 GB per second for consumers and businesses they've been giving 10 GB services to cruise ships now for several years

Are we getting a gen 4 or is this only about the satellites?? I literally just bought my first starlink (gen 3) 💀
I haven’t heard anything about new hardware. Gen 3 has been around less than a year now, so I wouldn’t expect a new version in the short term.

I am super happy with my speed of my mini
Ordered my mini this week. What type of speeds are you getting?
I’ve been getting up to about 200 Mbps during off peak hours.
I have the mini and i get maybe 5mbit to 10mbit during peak times. Maybe something like 100mbit at 4am
We won't see them kind of speeds for years.
Ye pretty much, starship will have to tested to carry payload, the new satellites before anything

If your dish is working fine, I don’t see any reason to upgrade. It won’t unlock more internet speed.
SpaceX
90% of starlink users will be fine with 50mbps.. Anything more is jus fun to look at on speedtests..
What a load of shit I have starlink I'm lucky if get 2mbit
