  • It's always a great idea to mount your DMX ports to the front of your flightcase. Easy access saves time and time saves money so this is a must have!
My Art-Net Node is a V-show ARDS08. It has the ability to convert Art-Net through Ethercon to 8 Universes or 8 seperate DMX-512 (3 - pin) connectors in this case.
If you are interested in doing this here's what you need:
    Flightcase or rack
Neutrik NA3FDM Male to Female XLR Feedthrough
    M2.5 x8mm Screws and Nuts
DMX Patch cable preferably 1-1. 5' in length(Please make sure your cable is for DMX not XLR Audio. DMX-512 Needs 110-120 Ohms to work properly! I used Advanced MCS Electronics professional series 1' DMX Patch cable.
    Phillips Head Screwdriver

So the Artnet node has eight dmx-512 3-pin connectors on the back and I want to access them from the front so I created a pass or feed through. The Artnet node converts a single Artnet 4 signal and properly addresses each of the eight universes contained in each of the dmx ports on the back. When you mount a node to a flight case the ports are on the back and are hard to access so it's better to access them from the front.
