Pees is coming in as a coaching advisor. Nothing wrong with it but slamming Orr for a tough start is a bit childish, IMO. Mike McD allowed 5 losses due to 4th qtr meltdowns in his first 6 games. ZO will get up to speed. He’s a smart guy
It's 2024. The facts about this Defense through 5 games are there to be seen and summarized accordingly.

@@NarkleBerry no worries. I'm not going to ignore what are obvious deficiencies, at least to me. A lifelong NFL DC isn't going to show up and not coach. That's who he is. If you've ever been around a lifelong football coach IN A COACHING ENVIRONMENT ... they are going to coach people. I don't just blindly accept whatever story is presented since I've witnessed this dynamic before personally. Anyway, thanks for checking this one out.

@@pricetopay5152 I disagree. I think they are comparable. First 6 games LY showed huge off. challenges. Why? New OC. ZO has a huge challenge this week and it’s weird that he getting ZERO credit for holding the Bills to 10pts LW.
I think the Brandon Stephen’s not in his stance lends itself to the bigger issue of not playing the defense how it’s suppose to be played. Theres a reason for the techniques the ravens use specifically such as “following the jersey number on press” or specific leverages on coverages And when you watch the games you see guys a half step out of position. Or safety’s not driving. I believe it’s coaching and accountability. Also a lot of the secondary has been there a while so it’s easy to under coach them and believe they will fix it themselves when that’s not how it works. I don’t think it’s the scheme at all, I also don’t think it’s talent, I think it’s straight coaching and holding playing accountable like Stephen’s stance, playing the QB instead of your man is likely the largest issue. Not recognizing pass concepts and patterns and playing an area instead of the receivers.
You showed a Roquan play of him missing the ball on the inside, there’s so many every game where he’s not playing the routes. I watch him on a 4 receiver set and didn’t get any depth, all 4 receivers running behind him. Took himself out of the play from both recognizing who’s on the field, how much time is left. Thats all coaching and should of already been corrected
Im glad the coaches are doing something about it instead of letting it go uncorrected. They know lamar, and his team isn't winning an SB with this defense, and it has to get better.

My thought is they need defense coaching help DURING the game as well as during practice. Someone with a proven track record who can mentor to Orr and impress upon him the techniques that work when something or other happens. Orr be very young to go it alone. Not necessary.. All money spent on players and such, an extra coach or 2 won't hurt. As long as they can all work together. It's all good.

The Ravens have seen the best QB’s in the league and a young gun in Washington coming up but I think can get it together.

The issue with this whole circumstance is you have a roster that wants to win a SB. And you have the personnel we don’t have 3 years to develop. Now was it a good idea to have a young guy step in to this circumstance ? I’m not in leadership for the Ravens 🐦⬛ but that’s a very tough spot . Now we have the players and if we are solid then we can get better. The issue is the team you are chasing KC is ELITE . There is zero coincidence that Andy hired the only guy to beat Tom twice in a SB. They believe that is their ceiling- we got some work to do 🐦⬛

I've thought this often. We're putting Harbaugh and Monken minds against Reid AND Spagnuolo's mind against Zach Orr. Like...Ravens aren't being serious about Defense.
I think pees helped Orr create the scheme. But it’s bending and breaking 😂

Little bit of both, in my opinion. As well as some poor awareness and inability to adjust to the formation that the Offense has shown. We don't always create leverage issues for the Offense with our own alignment/adjustment to the formation shown. In fact, I have rarely seen this Defense make a check in 2024. We seem to run what is called and that's it.

Pees coming in feels like a let down, I’m a novice on defensive schemes so I was hoping Orr could just pick up from MacDonald and we’d be in wonderland. I was in elementary and middle school when Pees was here, I don’t remember any good defenses though I just remember let downs, even Wink I believe led top defenses for 3 years not sure if Pees ever eclipsed that once.
Great move by the Ravens, it don’t make sense to have that much talent and to be that bad on the backend.
