I'm very happy we finally have the R9. My only complaints are very nit-picky and can easily be changed with aftermarket parts. I think I'll like the factory version more in person honestly. Great video, bro'.
Why does the exhaust always look like it was pulled out of a junkyard when the rest of the bike is so premium? Would it really cost that much to make it look nice?

@@Gino.R7 i feel like @KingsofRecreation might be better equipped to answer that question as I am a newer rider, but from what I saw at the dealership, yes, it is noticeably bigger than the R7. follow your local Yamaha dealers on social media because this bike is going around for demos.

You mentioned you have already ordered parts for it…by chance do you know what exhaust will work? I’m concerned that even though it’s the MT09 engine the frame is different so how do you know if akra will fit the same?
The only reason they hate this bike is because they cant get over r6, i agree 08-16 r6 was perfect bike good looking,reliable,nice sounding and pretty fast but who cares there is no more r6! Get used to it! This bike looks perfect, it may sound bad but it got plenty of power and if yamaha wants to they can make it faster than r6, we all know that mt09 destroys r6 till 200km/h …
@@Djoxiiii777 perfectly put. Since 2009 the R6 has been in DECLINE of Hp and performance. From 127hp 43.3tq in 2009 down to 117hp in 2020 when it ended the model life… people still haven’t learned to let it go. For this bike to meet all these heavily restricted regulations and make the same hp but 50% more tq just means when we do air filter, exhaust and tune, this will be an outrageously lively motorcycle. People can hate now, it’s fine because the amount of fun that will be had on these bikes will be top level.

@itsmeericb ok so I spoke directly to the guy about this exact thing. The belly pan on the R9 looks like it WILL allow you to use atleast any of the modern 22-up MT09 exhaust and more specifically the XSR900GP exhaust offerings. So it’s my plan to obtain the oem xsr900gp Superbike exhaust they got in collaboration from Akrapovic. We will see, because I talked to the guy about if there would be a “sp” or “m” version and he said they couldn’t figure where to make it more of a better version since they threw the sink at it. But I plan to show my process of making it something interesting.

Only thing I can see with an SP model would be better suspension power and some sort of titanium engine internals along with forged wheels. Have you seen the Spark exhaust for the MT-09’s? It looks and sounds good. I too plan to make content on my entire journey with the R9. Keep it up! 👍
i own 23mt09sp and it's very fun street bike. I just got tuned and it runs amazing. Newer cp3 (24+) have more pronounce dead spot due to euro5+ which a tune can sort that out. Can't wait to see r9 contents. While waiting for r9 test ride mt09 for the motor, I know r9 is gonna have different sprocket and gearing but it should have similar power out of cp3.

The price is a little up there. Yamaha did a great job adding everything you need in a quality machine for value. Electronics and mirror signals, steel brake lines, upgraded brakes, winglets, handle bars and suspension. The only thing it doesn't have is a tinted shield.
Can you tell how aggressive the riding position is just from inspecting it in this video? What would the seating position be similar to? Would this be more or less aggressive than a GSX-R750 for example?

I don’t really like the winglets and the tail section, but that cp3 engine in a supersport platform is for sure going to be a blast. I don’t get the hate for this bike.
I’m so glad they made the decision to show us outside. The wings were hit or miss in pictures depending on angle but the design is beautifully done when you see it in person.

This is a demo we don’t get our bikes personally until March. The prototype comes with a man with info is all lol. We kindof knew a bit more than the guy was divulging I cut a few things out of the clips but when I get the bike in hand I’ll run through all the intricate things.

Yeah around the 8:30 mark you give your reasoning. However my experience with a Daytona 675r has me under the opinion that when you break up fairing into more pieces it only raises the cost.
@ I’d imagine painted the fairing winglet would be about 150 USD we will see, but I’d certainly rather just replace a winglet instead of full fairing side.

But don’t let me stop you from having an opinion though. Think what you’d like.
@@KingsofRecreation in the past the sporty fast bike had the bhp and then it got detuned for the naked version. Yamaha have taken there naked bike changed quite a few bits but forgot to add 15 20 bhp. But hey thats just an opinion 🤷 🙃 🙂

The engine suited the exact needs they wanted met... imagine having a 2024 R6 and it's had 117hp and 43 tq since 2012... but they charging you 13k for brakes from 2003 and a engine and frame from 2005... God forbid they didn't give you the max hp that the bike can handle. Keep it honest were going to get the bike, put filter and full exhaust on it and tune it and get LARGE whp gains. Would you rather have a bike with 130bhp and then go put exhaust and tune it and get 138bhp and the engine blow up, or would you feel more accomplished if you got this 117bhp motorcycle and did modifications and tune it and get 138bhp rev to 12k and have zero issues at all with reliability and endless fun on it?

No factory steering damper, historically yamaha does not put dampers on supersports

Not a deal breaker but im not a fan of the wings (I'm not good enough to utilize them and it increases the cost to repair).

They are not photogenic if I’d say so, but in person they look a lot smoother and cleaner. They just don’t picture good in stills.
I think they look great. The front end looks like a robot mantis. The winglets are functional!
Luckily functionality of winglets is not dependent on your opinion if they "look functional".
