For me, My favourite moment was first time fighting the elite four in Platinum. I never finished Pearl when I was younger, so Platinum was the first game I got that far in. I was up against Cynthia, and it came down to a struggle match between my Weavile and her Garchomp. Somehow, I won. It was a Sunday morning. I ran downstairs with so much excitement, my parents couldn't believe that my 9 year old self was up that early. I am just happy that I grew up with Pokémon!
Weavile is just a Garchomp slayer, really wish I used one in my first playthrough.

All my Pokémons were under level 48 while fighting Cynthia the first time I challenged her I literally had a gabite and not a garchomp in my team lol
My favourite moment in Pokémon has to be watching Ash Vs Paul.I was soooo much worried as a kid and like just went into the television.Watching almost all of Ash's Pokémons falling to that freaking drapion was so scary.Then came Infernape and fell to Electivire's thunder I was just shouting in my house "Nooooooooo please noo" then he stood up activated blazed finished electivire like a god and that last moment when electivire falls has to be the best!! Infernape is my all time favorite Pokémon since then.
I am happy to grow up with Pokémon and still into the franchise.
I remember that. Then someone used darkrai and Latios to sweep Ash's entire team and destroyed the whole thing for me.

For me, my favorite moment was when the fairy type was added. That was something I never saw coming and I loved the idea of a type being immune to dragon since they were the go to type back in the day.
My favorite moment of the Pokémon series is, I loved when the shocking mega evolution feature got revealed for Kalos, it was nice to see some Pokémon getting new forms that weren’t permanent and could make them stronger.
3:25 I'm actually really hopeful for bdsp, but I do got to say that I rather want to wait longer between each game to get a better and more polished game, than a game every year.

For real. Pumping a game or some form of product out every year can’t be good for the quality of the game, or for the people who actually have to work on them.
@@darkmoon2503 they have to do it, they have so many other things like cards and toys and plushes that all have to come out at once, so it’s not really a decision by this point.

Honestly i cant say the same for bdsp the games are just giving me so many turn offs that i might not buy them at all. And I also would rather wait longer between games because if we did im willing to bet bdsp wouldn’t look so half assed imo
My favourite moment in Pokémon has to be when I tried shiny hunting for the first time. My first successful soft reset for a shiny Pokémon, back in Gen III, was a huge moment for me. I had heard about shiny Pokémon and asked my little brother if I could use his Sapphire to reset for Rayquaza. He didn’t play it anymore, so he said sure. It took months of on and off, but one day, while playing Pokémon Platinum and Soft resetting in the background, it happened! Black Rayquaza infront of me!!
I am so damn happy that I grew up with Pokémon.

One of my favorite moments was definitely playing soul Silver and looking at the sprites walking beside me, that changed completely how I selected my team from that moment on! for me it was a HUGE game changer
My favorite moment in Pokémon history was fighting Ultra Necrozma for the first time. It was the first time in a long time that a Pokémon ds game gave me a true challenge, and actually required me to think up a excellent strategy for beating it, which is something I always want a Pokémon game to do for me.
I remember my dad coming back from a business trip in 2009 and he gave me my nintendo DS and my first ever game: pkmn pearl.
I had no idea what I was doing back then. But my trusty infernape carried me through the entire game and before I knew I was the champion of sinnoh.
Can't wait to relive all the nostalgia!!
I think my favorite pokemon moment was when I first found the battle with Steven in Meteor Falls in pokemon Emerald. I didn't really have access to the internet back then, so I never knew it was a thing, I was just exploring. I remember being kind of bored that I was too overleveled to feel challenged by any of the rematches with the gym leaders, but then Steven totally wiped the floor with my team! It really got me excited to train again, and that having one last challenge for my team to overcome (outside of the battle frontier) felt incredible
My favorite moment from the history of Pokémon is getting to take my Pokémon from my original Blue version into Pokémon Stadium. Just to be able to see them come to life in such a way was amazing. The mini games were also a really fun time. There are more beyond this but this moment stands out.

My favorite moment in the entire Pokémon series was when I played the whole way through platinum, I kept going through the region over and over to find new nooks and crannies to explore. It was so fun to find heatran hidden in a volcano this way :) finding those hidden legendaries is amazing!
Well I really do appreciate how we get new Pokémon games yearly. I would love if we got more time between games. So that the developers can get more creative with them.
Exactly why gen 9 being released a year form now is very concerning considering how sword and shield were recieved.

I agree. I remember when there would be a 1-2 year break between games like with the Gen 5 to Gen 6 transition or the transition between Gen 7 and Gen 8.
I want a 100% polished game, but yet again us Pokémon fans are never satisfied with anything.

Each generation takes 3 years. Gen 9 will be announce early next year and be released in fall. Gen 8 is almost over.
My favorite moment in the pokemon games was the end of Black/White where you are facing the elite 4 and N's castle emerges. Its a fun twist and made the game feel like it had higher than normal stakes. I was really cool seeing all the previous gym leaders helping out as well!!
For me it was remembering playing all the originals starting with Blue. Growing older and busier I put down the gameboy and forgot them. Stumbled on your videos a year or two ago now and picked up some of the newer games and redoing playthroughs. Life is stressful and these games and your videos bring me a lot of joy. Thanks Mystic.
So my favorite moment was on Christmas morning a few years ago when I got my kids Let's go Pikachu. I grew up with red and blue and only played gen 2, then took a long hiatus. The nostalgia of seeing these maps and pokemon brought back to life for me was so special. Then being able to share that with my son's, got me right in the feels.

Big facts
You don't necessarily need to be a big company to make some serious dough.
It's not about money. Mystic never mentioned money. It's about management. Leading a bigger development team comes with issues that smaller teams don't have. Gamefreak know they don't know how to manage those issues. A big budget doesn't equal a better games.

@@ryenpdf Of course it does. I'm not saying and I don't think Mystic is implying it either but having more developers does not always equal a better game. Putting more money into it might help but it is not an automatic fix.
My favorite moment has been getting back into Pokemon the past few years with playing the new games, watching new content, and making new friends who also enjoy Pokemon
I've had a lot of good memories with Pokemon over the years, but I guess one of my favorite memories was probably when Sun and Moon first came out. I just moved up from middle school to high school and I had to say goodbye to a lot of my friends since most of them were either going to different schools or moving away. So I was kinda lonely for the first few months of my freshman year. A few weeks before the games released, I walked into one of my classes and noticed that my groupmates were talking about sun and moon, so I joined in since I was also really excited for the new games. For the entire class period, instead of actually getting any work done, the three of us were just talking about what we were looking forward to in the new games and what versions we were getting + what starters we were choosing.
I think what was really cool was that I found out all of us were gonna choose all three of the starters, I was gonna choose Litten, and my groupmates were each gonna choose Popplio and Rowlet respectively. And then when the games finally came out, we each brought our 3dses to school and just battled and traded during our breaks and after school. Since then we became really close friends to this day.
My favorite moment in the anime was Ash finally beating Paul. Then my favorite moments in the games were completing the Pokédex in Sapphire/Emerald and Shield :)
my favorite memory of pokemon was when my "second wave" of pokemon happened around 2016-17ish. I have always had a love for pokemon ever since I was born since my mom got me into it. So when I rediscovered the games I had fallen in love with the games ALL over again but this time I actually understood how the games worked. It made me realize that I have loved the games since I was born.
for me it’s when I first started watching four videos. I work at amazon and deliver packages everyday. listening to your videos makes my day go by faster and you are very informed about the whole pokémon universe!!!

My favorite moment was definitely when these remakes were announced. And I’m still just as excited. Pokémon pearl back in 2007 was the first Pokémon game I ever played. I’ve beaten just that copy 3 times and I still have it. This has been the longest gap from og to remake and I couldn’t be more excited. I even decided I’d switch it up and pick my least favorite (Torterra obviously) starter for the first time for pearl. Also keep up the great content and catch em all
My favorite moment in my pokemon history is when i first got a copy of pokemon diamond. I've got so many fond memories of playing this game for hours and hours with my sister. Those were truly some of the happiest years of my life.
I think my best memory in the pokemon saga is the sensation of community that I get everytime a new release comes out! It's so memorable and it feels to good to click immediately even with complete strangers since they know pokemon and u could stay and have a conversation for literally hours ❤ Good job on the video! One of my favorite memories of Pokémon was playing Pokémon Platinum a second time over. It brought back so many great memories as Pokémon Platinum was the first Pokémon game I ever played. Everything about playing it again was just so fun and nostalgic and I’m excited to play the remakes of my first played Pokémon game ever.
My favorite moment was the long and painful journey through Sky Tower that I made in Ruby as a kid. Finally getting to Rayquaza was well worth the agony.

And this right here is exactly why people who don't like the series' current direction have a hard time being taken seriously. A frightening amount of them just can't seem to help but go out of their way to sound as spiteful as humanly possible.
Although I'm not gonna pretend the other side is any better. The current state of this community boils down to two extremist sides constantly trying to paint each other as utter morons who are actively "part of the problem" every step of the way. And it's a really sad state of affairs when some of us are genuinely discouraged from having any form of interaction with other fans, knowing they'll inevitably get caught up in this mess sooner or later.

My favourite moment probably was playing through the Sapphire for the first time, and finding all of the hidden areas and legendaries in the region. Always loved that there was so many extra post-game features in the game, especially cracking the puzzles for the regis and catching them.
This is fairly recent but seeing the text in the beginning of that DP remake trailer was just super hype. I know, not as insane but hey thanks for giving me some hope.
Old school pokefan here, my favorite has to be when Charizard got humbled in the Charizard valley. Then from there on, every time he showed up he was more boss level than before.
My favorite moment in pokemon has got to be when I finally beat red in my pokemon heartgold nuzlocke and that feeling of finally beating one of the hardest runs I've done cant be beat. ive had over like 50 tries and that win really got me wanting to do way more nuzlockes in the future.
My favourite Pokemon moment is earlier this year when I heard the original DP music and I knew the remakes were happening. I was struggling with mental health for a while being an adult, and DP were my first Pokemon games as a kid, it honestly brought colour back into my life again, I’m so excited.
Hey MysticUmbreon, I really appreciate the content you are putting out. I myself am hyping for this game but people around me who used to play the game just simply don't. My favorite moment as a Pokemon fan was when I booted up my first pokemon game on my first 3ds - Pokemon Diamond in 2016. Since then Pokemon has been a huge and beautiful part of my life. I've been waiting for gen4 remake to come out and I hope I would enjoy it just like I did the original.

My favorite moment in Pokemon, hands down, is walking into the wild area in SWSH for the first time. It felt very satisfying - like placing the last piece of a puzzle which realized the world of Pokemon. The Onix near the entrance was awesome to behold!
My favorite part in pokemon has definitely been seeing the wonderful community grow, and see all the memes this community has made. I remember spending hours of my time watching camping clips in SWSH and just enjoying it.
My favorite Pokémon moment hands down was the first time I got an event WiFi Pokémon. I bugged my dad to give me the WiFi password, linked my Dsi and got the the liberty pass. Seeing Victini filled me with overwhelming excitement 💜💜💜
One of my favorite moments as a fan has to be when I was playing Pokémon Brick Bronze and my Pignite evolved into an Emboar. He was low in hp and had one more opponent to defeat. The opponent moved first but luckily missed so my Pignite used arm thrust and hit for times to secure the victory and get a level up. After the battle, he evolved into an Emboar and from there, we went to sweep the rest of the gyms (except the last one, that one was difficult, especially that darn Greninja). The only main line game I have ever played was Pokémon Shield, so brick bronze was my only alternative back in 2017.
My fav Pokémon experience is a tie between the summer of Pokémon GO and starting Pokémon Sword for the first time. The summer of GO was just an amazing phenomenon of linking up with fellow trainers all around DC to hunt and find everything we could lol. And since I hadn’t played an actual Pokémon game since Gen 2, mostly kept up with Pokémon lore and art afterwards, I was excited to finally get a console game after all this time. I got chills in the opening and seeing the Sword emblem shine in the sky! It also helped that I’d bought the game and a Switch right before the pandemic so I didn’t have to scramble to get either and def enjoyed playing during quarantines.
And now I’m looking forward to the Gen 4 remakes bc I’ve not experienced them and can start my own journey with them!

My favorite Pokémon memory over the last 20 years is being able to share Pokémon with my students. I am a third grade teacher and this franchise has given me so many ways to connect with my students. I even bring my switch in a few times a week and play with students. They think the shiny Corvisquire Ihave is the coolest thing ever! Thanks for the content mystic!
My favourite moment was the end of my first playthrough of Diamond, when I first encountered Cynthia. I was 10 at the time and my Empoleon had got me through most of the game with the rest of my team more or less untouched (mostly HM slaves bar a Luxray). I got through a couple of Cynthia's pokemon, then Garchomp appeared and swept my whole team. I panicked, my jaw hit the floor... but I love a challenge, and I was delighted to have one, and nothing has taught me like that first encounter with Cynthia back then. I went back, built my team up, and beat her using that learning and I have never been so happy to become a pokemon champion because I had to work for it so much!!
My favorite moment, 100%, has to be the anime episode where pikachu learns Volt Tackle. Just the lead up for it, and then ash orders pikachu to use quick attack and you’re like “ok then,” but all of sudden, with the music crescendoing heroically, lightning starts to form around him and he just totally obliterates team rocket while Ash and Brock are like “What the-“

My favorite Pokemon memory was getting up early in the morning and watching the first season during morning cartoons as a kid. To this day the original theme song still gets me excited and emotional! I love your content and information! We are all looking forward to BD and SP!
My favorite moment has to be reintroducing the franchise to my friends for the first time since they were kids during quarantine! I now have a great group to play with and share excitement over the franchise with!
My favorite moment in Pokemon is when they were announcing the release of Sun and Moon. I was so hyped and wanted to play the games so bad. I had only played HeartGold at that point because I was fresh and new to Pokemon, and after 3 years, I finally got to play both Sun and Moon along with Ultra Sun.
My favorite pokemon moment would have to be when I played the contest in pearl. I enjoyed the Pokemon contest and remember dressing my Pokemon up and making sure they ate the poffins. I really do miss the contests and sad they took them away.
Can’t wait to be able to play these games next week . I’m gonna be using my first ever gen 4 team of infernape , garchomp, roserade, staraptor , floatzel and now that I can trade I can finally use my favorite mon in the entire gen electivire.
My favorite moment for me has to be Re-watching the original Pokemon Indigo League with my son! Watching him get excited/Sad/Happy has without a doubt brought more joy to me than it did 20 years ago when I was watching it, and makes me very excited for us to watch the rest of the series together!

My favorite moment has to be finding zygarde in x & y. They were my first pokemon game and walking in that cave and seeing zygarde just chilling there was epic
My favourite moment in the franchise was a few years ago, when I had a lot of free time since my work schedule shifted to fewers, but longer days. I decided I would go back and stream casual playthroughs of Every Game.
I had missed on many generations throughout the years, either money or interest.
Going back and re-living what I had played, or discovering what I had missed, all while really learning how to play the game (My old save files are trainwrecks!) was such a great experience that I decided not to stop even when I didn't have time to stream anymore.
I've been playing Sword and Shield since they released, building new teams, doing challenge runs like the Prof Oak challenge or nuzlocking since.
Now I'm ready to go to the next level and I'm ready to start doing randomizers.
That project was one of the best decisions I made.
My favourite moment is definetly the stand of with N in his castle. The cut scene when Reshiram awakens really blew my mind. Fighting N's Zekrom with Reshiram is makes it even better.

My favorite moment in this franchise has been my wife’s slow warming up to this world thanks to games like Go and Snap. It’s so heartwarming to see her calling out all the names of the cute Pokémon while I play Sword. And I look forward to continuing that with BDSP and Arceus!

My biggest and most appreciated moment in my Pokemon history was when me and my friend fought each other. We were playing the third and fourth Gen as 3-5 Ppl and always battled against each other. Not only in fight, but also in who was the quickest to end the Storyline, who could catch more Pokemon while being fast and so on.. I miss those good old Times back when i was around 8-12 hahahha

My favorite moment is from the 1st movie. When Mewtwo says “I see now that the circumstances of one’s birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.” As an adopted child, this quote always had a very strong impact on me and has been the fuel behind my love for the franchise. ❤️

It was more like multiple 360's tbh lol. People were constantly back and forth between hating and loving BDSP as more and more info was leaked.
My favorite moment has to be when I came back to the series after not playing any games in my middle school years. It was when X and Y were released, when I experienced my first mega evolution all of my memories of Pokémon came rushing back. I was just so excited to be playing a Pokémon game again.
My favorite moment has been the community creating randomizers and watching the resulting chaos. That and the sense of achievement the first time I beat the elite four in Sapphire and Leaf Green. Cynthia in Diamond and Platinum is a close second.
I've been playing Pokemon from the very, very start and have never even seen a normal shiny encounter, let alone catch one. My favorite shiny is Porygon-Z.
I've made a lot of online friends during my time with Sword and Shield, the first games where I decided I wanted to complete the Pokedex.
Little did I know, but a friend I made in one of my online groups was trying to get one for me for ages, and on the day I became the champion of the Galar region, I got it!
The fact that somebody in the community would go to the effort of getting a legit shiny like that is so cool. Pokemon fans can get awfully toxic, but some of them are true gems of the gaming community as a whole.
My favorite moment of being a pokémon fan has definitely been everytime I’m able to play or even watch a play through of a new pokémon game! I love seeing new pokémon, new features, and new layouts of regions. It’s also why I’m super excited to see bdsp released too :)
My favorite moment was starting up Pokemon Black 2 back in 2012. I remember playing with my best friend at our school right after basketball practice. I also always have vivid memories of vacations whenever I play Pokémon.
My favorite moment was battling my older brother (Blue/ Yellow) on our Gameboys, using our link cable. As a younger sibling, he beat me at everything, but my Charizard and Dewgong were busted on that game. For the first time ever I had beaten him at something. He and my younger brother are my best friends to this day. Those early Pokémon games gave us some of my favorite memories growing up.
Hello Mystic I am Parth (Indian), I have become a constant viewer and subscriber of yours recently and I really love your videos especially you tierlist vids. I also want to participate in your giveaway, some of mymemorable pokemon moments are ash winning the alola league, darkest day arc, team flare arc, me getting my first shiny in the usum warp ride and your what if ash started in jhoto series etc.
So this is awhile back. So me and my crush at that time, were big fans of pokemon and we both had our little GBA's. And both of us had our own copy of Emerald. One day, she confessed to me that she liked me too and traded me her shiny jigglypuff nicknamed "Ilikeu" and just about a year ago, I found my old stash of GBA stuff and found my copy. I booted up the game and there it is!!!
my favourite moment for pokemon has to be how i got introduced to it. One say i was scrolling through youtube like 5 years ago when i was 9 and i find a video called best team for sinnoh featuring a cool looking slug. I watched the whole thing. Now at the time i didnt now shit about whatever you were saying but the occasional monsters looked damn cool. That led me to pokemon and ive been a fan ever since
I applaud your positivity, Mystic. If there's one thing I've learned from being a Pokemon fan it's that you need to keep an open mind about the games. Get too worked up over a wish list that you concocted is a good way to cause problems for yourself, the developers, and the community. The fact of the matter is that BDSP do have some nice new improvements to them that enhances and fixes the heavily flawed nature of the original DP, even if the core game is largely the same. While BDSP are a mixed bag at best I do feel that they will offer enough to make them good and help them stand on their own as part of the franchise.
If your a Pokémon fan, could you give me some advice. I am trying to get into Pokémon but I don't know what game I should start with. Any thoughts?

For me, it has to just be the evolution of the franchise element. Going back and playing games for the nostalgic factor and then seeing each new gen provide more and more always keeps me going.
My favorite moment playing Pokemon would be when I was training up my Machamp to level 100 in Pokemon Gold. He was my second Pokemon to reach level 100 and I was so excited to use him to beat the Elite Four straight through on his own! Thank you for this giveaway!
My favorite moment of all time is the 1st moment turning on my gameboy color and seeing the title screen of pokemon blue! I'll always remember how absolutely excited I was. Looking back at it now makes me feel emotional.

I don’t mean to be rude, but your argument is really flawed. Pokémon has so much brand recognition that there’s no way they aren’t going to keep pumping out products, because they keep making money. There’s not really anything to be grateful for. It’s not a gift.
Also, some franchises just get the short end of the stick and make really good products that don’t get the recognition they deserve. Take the Metroid franchise for example. The devs of that series have had it so rough, but they still put as much possible into Dread... and thankfully, it looks like it’s finally paying off for them.
Also, I’m just gonna day it... they already have the models, they can make more expressive and lively animations for the Pokémon. That was supposed to be a big reason for limited Pokémon going forward. And let’s not act like they really try hard with the story. Outside of BW, B2W2, SM, and maaaybe DP, they don’t really try to make a complex and interesting narrative. I hope that changes with Legends Arceus, though.
My favorite Pokémon moment, was when I wanted the new Platinum game back in 2009. My mom didn't really have the money to get it for me but she made sacrifices and pre-ordered it for me. I knew she had no money to get me the huge Pokémon Platinum national Pokedex guide book, so I went on UA-cam and watched gameplay of Marriland playing the Japanese release game. I watched his gameplay and made my own version of the Platinum guide book. Once I finished making the book, I showed my mom and I told her I made this because I didn't want her to make more sacrifices for me. She took the book and hugged me. When it was time for her to pick up my game that she pre-ordered, she came home and surprised with Pokemon Platinum and the guide book. She said to me don't ever worry about me, you're happiness is my number 1 priority. TO THIS DAY I still have the Pokémon Platinum game and the guide book. It's my most cherished Pokémon game ever.

My favorite moment was when I saw in a magazine that Pokémon was coming to the states. I was so excited because the concept was so cool. Who knew it would still be thriving 20 years later! Pokémon will be close to my heart for life.

My favorite moment for Pokémon as a fan would be when I essentially completed the Pokédex for the old Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games. The first game I ever played was Diamond but it was Platinum that I caught most of the Pokémon (wasn’t able to get all the mythicals because I was just a kid). Overall, I just liked the idea of Time and Space being represented as Pokémon. Also, major fan of Primal Dialga 😎
Gotta say my favorite Pokémon moment was getting to the Sevii Islands in my Leaf Green copy as a kid. It took me sooo long to beat the E4 as a kid (always skipped trainers and never trained my Pokémon), so when I finally was able to reach the post game and catch all of these new Johto Pokémon I’ve never seen before, it was great.
My favorite moment in Pokémon is either when I first saw Lugia come out of the water fall in SS or when I first saw Red on mountain peak in Mt. Silver.
My favorite moment has got to be when colosseum was released. I was a child back then, playing a young adult trainer, who has a Motorcycle bike, & who exploded a hideout. The soundtrack, the characters, the places. I fell in love with it all 😍

In the many years of pokemon, my favorite moment has to be entering Route 209 in Diamond and Pearl for the first time. That opening soundtrack just made me so hooked and excited for exploring the rest of the world. It’s still probably my favorite piece of music from Pokemon, it’s so good. I love how the themes change depending on the time of day as well
My favorite moments has to be when I started to really get into playing in the underground in Diamond with my cousin. I hope to relive those days with him when the remakes come out
My favorite pokemon moment was the first month pokemon go came out. I met so many different people and I was in great shape from exercising while trying to catch pokemon and hatch eggs. It was honestly a great bonding experience worldwide
My favorite moment happened really recently. I just completed Pokémon y and decided to break out my 3DS to play Pokémon black. I was going through one of the caves and found my first shiny! I was so happy I took pictures and sent them to my friends(even though it was just a sand slash…).
Best moment in Pokémon history is 100% when they revealed alolan variants. Something I never expected but thought was a brilliant way to bring new life to old mons

My favorite moment has been getting my 5 year old into pokemon and bringing back that nostalgic feeling going over the original 151 with him.
My favourite moment for me was when I got my first ever console just to play Pokemon Sword this year. Before that I didnt have much money to purchase any of the other consoles myself. But watching all of your videos really inspired me to play a game physically myself. Before that I played roms using emulators, but i was so happy to play a game for the first time physically. Thank you for inspiring me to do just that.
One of the most memorable moments I had was finally getting my infernape, Blaze, to level 100 in pokemom diamond. I beat a pelliper outside of sunnyshore city (i think), and the feeling of seeing him pop to lvl 100 was absolutely amazing as an 11 year old kid

My favorite moment in my time as a Pokémon fan was definitely my first playthrough of Emerald, it was my introduction that got me hooked and even though I’ve had many amazing moments with the franchise since there has always been something particularly special about that first adventure!
My favorite moment in Pokémon was when I played Pokémon Emerald as a kid and I finally started learning some of the nuances of Pokémon. I learned that you didn’t need to only have attack moves or use the first Pokémon you get a hold of, I learned how to strategize and plan my teams. It was a real eye opener for me and rekindled my love for the series

My Favorite Pokémon moment besides finally beating Heartgold (My first Pokémon game), happened recently when I played Sword. I decided to use a Noivern on my team when I found a Noibat in Galar Mine. I never used one and always really liked Noiverns design. But Noibat takes forever to level up and it’s pretty weak in the mean time. It got KO’ed in almost every battle, even if it was 10 levels higher then the opposing Pokémon. I had to use EXP candies just to keep it at the same level as the rest of my team and there were so many times when I could’ve of switched for a stronger Flying or Dragon type Pokémon.
But I didn’t because I believed in Wayne (What I named Him.) and I knew if I toughed it out, it would be worth it because I knew Noibat would become something awesome. I never gave up on him. Then in the Spikemuth Gym challenge, I finally got Noibat to evolve into Noivern just before the battle with Piers. It was so worth it because Noivern helped beat Piers, did a lot in the battle against Raihan surprisingly, helped defeat Oleana, Chairman Rose, took out half of Leon’s team, and so much more. Now Noivern is my favorite Pokémon and I will never forget the moment when he evolved in Spikemuth. I was so proud.
My favorite is just now Shiny Hunting has evolved throughout the past decade. Starting off, there weren’t really any surefire ways to increase shiny chances, other than the Shiny Charm. Then the Masuda Method was discovered. Then the Poke Radar, then overworld shinies, egg hatching, the Poke Radar rework, soft resetting for static encounters, the list goes on. Even though it seems like they take a step backwards in terms of shiny hunting odds, they still find new and interesting (and sometimes mathematically complex) ways of changing up the formula, both figuratively and literally.
My very favourite moment was on my 9th birthday! I remember coming home from school and there was a huge mountain of birthday presents, all stacked on each other and on the top, reflecting the lights, it was a copy of Pokemon Emerald. I pretty much ignored everything else and immediately started playing it on my Gameboy SP. The amount of hours I have spent playing that game is unimaginable. Life was so simple back then
