Overview
The Boeing T-45 Goshawk is a highly modified version of the British BAE Systems Hawk land-based training jet aircraft. The T-45 is used by the United States Navy as an aircraft carrier-capable trainer. Following the success of their BAE Hawk, FMS is proud to bring you a new and highly detailed 70mm T-45. Incorporating many advanced construction and assembly methods, an integrated multi-connector wing set even makes getting T-45 the ready at the field fast and simple.
The T-45 features rich scale details, clean lines, CNC-machined shock-absorbing landing gear, removable arresting hook and a latch-type canopy hatch. A great airframe requires a potent power system, so FMS has selected the efficient, powerful and reliable 70mm 12-blade EDF equipped with a brushless 1850Kv motor that delivers fantastic thrust and a turbine-like engine sound. Great for intermediate and advanced jet pilots alike, this scale model offers outstanding flight qualities flown on your 6S 3300mAh LiPo battery.

Dear brothers, I'm so excited I just introduced rc planes to my 2nd grade class as a diagram lesson. The look on there faces was priceless. Inspiring the minds of the future at an early age.
I bought one of these from Bangood 3 years ago after watching your video then. Been flying it ever since. Flys beautifully. Landing gear could be of better quality though. Looks beautiful in the air. I get a little under 4 min on 3300, 6S batteries. Needs a decent amount of up elevator to lift off. Pretty fast too.
I sympathise, very few aircraft come with robust landing-gear for the rough fields that I fly at, and not even for the asphalt topping that some clubs have. Its easily possible to belly-land a powered glider or jet, but necessary to beef-up the underside of a powered plane. With Stiks I fit a 3mm plywood plate along the whole underside from nose to rear of wing with copious amounts of glue, and add more ply between the undercarriage and the plane. It spreads the load along the underside of the fuselage rather than concentrating the loads around the mounting for the undercarriage. Usually its the wood or foam that fails rather than the metal legs. In fact I'm tempted to do this before the first flight rather than wait for the damage to happen and then have to repair and then strengthen.

Flies fantastic, plenty of power which I like to see on an EDF Jet. I always find it best to make as many amendments as possible mechanically first so you have more trim to go at in the air 👍 love it especially the mole hump stomping lol 🙈😂😂🤣🤣

Great flight. She is a beauty in the air and flew like it was on rails. A little hot on the landing but any landing that you walk away from is a success. EDF’s are always challenging.

You need to use down elevator to press the nosewheel down during take off my friend. Then you get more control. 🥰

This is one sexi jet. 12 blade and 6 cell is powerful for this and it does need some speed to be stable, you can see from the take off how it behaves just like a real one, not leaping into the air like a flea, like some foam planes. I'm sorry you're still struggling with the moles. Big salute from London. 👍

hey robert - great bird and flying ! si use of flaps is no rocket science. the rule of thumb is that a high wing plane will balloon but a low wing plane will not in most cases. check the manual first for flap settings and elevator compensation. a good way with the spektrum radios is to program different flight modes for flap settings and compensation individual for take off, flying and landing. cheers...
I liked this plane only when I had my Goshawk it was set up with 70mm. And 4s battery. It struggled to get up but did well after that

Put the fms 3060 1900kv inrunner in it. 1/2 flaps on grass take off, full flaps on landing, it will slow down more than in this video, Soften the front nose spring and use knee bend type ( may need to cut out a bit of wheel well foam) and you are good to go.

We lengthened the springs on the landing gear to soften it up, as stated, nose gear weak but great flight guy’s ✈️👍
FMS no longer offers this plane. It can be found under the brand QT these days.
Too bad it is no longer available.
The only problem with this plane is the weak nose gear, a 2mm strut that'll bend if you look at it wrong.

1.9kg flying weight is heavy for a 70mm edf jet. My own scratchbuilt 70mm edf jet is only 850g.
I have this plane. Been flying it for 3 years. It is NOT too heavy at all. Fast, agile, flies on a rail. Great vertical. Glad you built your own but no need to disparage this jet. I build my own planes ( balsa ) too but I don't have a bias against foamies as you obviously do.
