I've had my '72 for almost 50 years. Try pulling the wiper door over-ride (vacuum) switch below the steering wheel, it should open the door. There's a headlight door over-ride too, also a vacuum switch. They're on either side of the large wiper motor over-ride (electric) switch. If that is engaged the wipers won't run. It and the wiper door over-ride are used to aid in changing wiper blades. The headlight door over-ride is used when changing headlamps.
Thank God they have you to help them out. They obviously know very little, other than how to pay as little as possible, and how to charge as much as they can....All to be accomplished while telling jokes and smiling.
Most honest used car salesman I've ever heard! Definetely a business you would want to deal with! Refreshing to see someone still has old school values! Good job
I was 11 years old that year and on my way to school I'd see one of these every morning, always wanted that color, that body design is my favorite Vette
I love these old C3s up to ‘73, the Chrome Bumper Vettes, they are the most beautiful and potentially the most powerful. This is a beautiful example of one. And Nick, my brother, you did an awesome job as usual presenting this beauty. I only wish I was buying it! Great price and not too much of a project for this Disabled Vet to handle once my back surgery is done! Lol The new owner will love this ride! Keep finding these awesome C3s and keep up the great videography my brother! ✝️🇺🇸🫡
Years ago my buddy has a 1969 427 and had the popping in the rear factory limited slip differential more noticeable after coming out of a turn. I changed the fluid for him which was filthy that contained the LS additive and the noise went away. I latter confirmed with a Corvette expert that was the issue as the clutch packs were sticking together and abruptly releasing in and out of turns.
wow nice Corvette Nick!! thanks for the ride !!! I am surprised you have not sold the dodge charger and the olds 442, but you will. You do a great good job Nick!! Keep on rocking!!
Nice car, Nick! I own a 1971 Corvette convertible with the 454 cui engine and stick shift in exactly the same color (brands hatch green). The interior is also dark green. I love my Corvette. The sound is unbelievable. Greetings from Germany!
Very nice car! As our cars age it’s only logical that they will develop failures! So this is why we keep them serviced! But occasionally one slips by and at some point it will require a service or repair! But overall it’s a nice car! Thank you Nick
I love that green for a corvette, I use to see a 65' or 66' around town in the same color driving around town, always thought it was really cool looking
My Vette had that same noise in the back and it was the rubber bushing on the front differential mount. Cheap and easy fix if that's what it is. I was looking for it, but the camera got knocked over. Nice car.
I love how this channel has an active link to all the technology they use from amazon in the description, but the link to their own website is not a link but plain text. BRILLIANT :)
I like this vette allot wish I was closer to see it in person it would probably be another one just sitting in my garage👍it won't last long probably be gone before I could drive to Tenn.
Thank you for sharing this it's nice to see an actual Corvette compared to that brand new one that new one is not a Corvette at all far as I'm concerned they stopped making corvettes after the 90s body style and of course the 70s or should I say 69 up to 82 those were all beauties
Loves me a Vette! She’s sweet. I would trust the odo obviously not 172k! Haaaa. I think it was just taken care of from owner to owner. Pretty typical of Vette owners that I can attest too. This ain’t gonna last long. Good price too
Nick you're killing me with this one! 🙈 🙈 🙈 I have a C5 and a C6 but this '71 is the one! ☝🏾 I'm going to stop looking at your vids until I sell the two I have! 😉 😂 😂 😉
That interior really has more character than the new 2023 somehow. Is the foot well slightly offset? I remember that being rather uncomfortable in corvettes.
This could be a lovely palette for a really muscular car. You could easily have 400 reliable and docile horsepower, a 5- or 6-speeed trans in it, and everythingyou need to know to make it handle like a modern car is available - and would be invisible.
Not into the 70's styles corvette. Prefer earlier models. Actually used to help a friend doing an off frame restore on his 66 vette. Because he only had 1 arm and a vice would damage parts. My husband was ok with me helping the friend,
No disrespect intended but I would disagree. I re-watched the driving portions of the video and couldn't hear the tell tail sounds of the M22 Rock Crusher transmission. Not saying you are wrong but a simple test would be to drop the fuel tank and look at the secondary "factory window sticker" affixed to the top of the fuel tank.
Hey Nick, it looks frigid there. You guys aughta set up shop in Fl where it’s in the 80’s today. Never mind the fact I wouldn’t have to pay that out of state tax. 😃
NO, '71 was not the only year that the back window came out. They were removable from '68 through '72. It's a cool feature. Aside from T/T steering column this is a base model. This is obviously a 350/270 hp but it has the LT-1 fined valve covers or knock offs which are more pleasing and done by a lot of guys back in the day. There's no mention if the factory valve covers come with it and if the owner's manual comes with it as well as the original radio. Sinc the car is pulling; it will need all four corners aligned and probably new tires and brakes. He also should have tried the manual override for the wiper lid and headlight bucket. It's a decent driver, but it's overpriced. It will need a little more than TLC to make i a reliable driver. I couldn't tell from the underside shots if if has the spare tire tub and hopefully the spare tire. It would also be nice to know if it has the tank sticker and/or the window sticker. At the right price I'd be interested because it does need work and I haven't even touched upon the body paint or the fact it could probably use an Al Knock interior.
If they made the rest of the car as good as the door and belt alarm you would only need 1 car in a lifetime. A vehicle can burn to the ground and those dam alarms will still be working. HE HE
what's cool about the 71 corvette is they were equipped with a "Lap Belt" only. Which means the seat belt law doesn't apply to vehicles equipped with only a "Lap Belt"
@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate Thank you... Looks like a great place.. We have nothing like that in Northern NJ I have a 2004 Z06 with only 1000 miles on it...
Does anyone know how the white lettering on the tires work? I've watched 3 different '71 vette videos in a row and all three have different white lettering on the tires. I'm restoring a '71 and would love to know which is the correct lettering on the tire.
@@PH_INFO_101 You can tell someone what has been fixed since it was purchased from the previous owner. As I understand it, perhaps incorrectly, the asking is the price in the condition shown. Some of the cars here have issues that wouldn't take a whole lot to repair, and a lot of those shouldn't be an issue for the price; wipers, lights, steering are safety issues.
@@herbodiferous7751 Please understand, I agree with everything you are saying. I would bet they will repair the mechanical issues as time permits, making adjustments to the asking price as they go. I was trying to give a possible explanation to answer your original question.
Fair Enough, as my son likes to say. I think we are of the same mindset, not saying they're out to pump&dump Used Cars in the Classic Kurt Russel/Jack Warden style. It only makes sense that a buyer might reason that the asking price is fair, but only if the few minor mechanical issues were fixed. You get what you bought, when it comes to a 50yr old resin body. Still would look good with a lift kit and some 33s!

Hands down, one of the best looking cars, ever made.

Those seats don’t appear to match the rest of the interior. Wonder if the original seats wore out and these were sourced from another Vette.

Wow!! What an absolute Beauty!!

No power brakes. Not that you need them.

Only 2 corvettes I like are from the original Death Race 2000 and Corvette Summer...LOL
Are these old models reliable? I heard they have high maintenance and break down easily. I'm not a speeder
thats my EXACT dream car - same year/same color!!!!!!
Very nice Nick- like the intro music to..

Does this come with documents in the trunk too?

Beautifull, LOVE IT,to I'M,PUERTO RICO, you don't ship to,
71 the last of chrome trim
Wait was that the camera smasher at the gas station
He’s out on the prowl
Great car great price.
Not that it matters much...but it does not have power brakes. My 69 has manual brakes, too. It requires some pretty god leg force to get 'er stopped.
No vacuum to wiper door.
It's sad that this car is sold for such little, maybe the restoration job was crap, but still, getting rid of this was triggered
1:32 Yep
Does it come with a box of classified documents? Asking for a friend.
I didn't see this '71 on your website. How about a link to same. Thanks.
Pretty lil baby 🥶🥶🥶
