  • In this video I share the five books I use for planning, journaling, and note-taking (commonplacing) as an aspiring digital minimalist. This combination makes up what is my second brain - it helps me to keep on top of life (as best I can!), improve my focus, and find joy in the little things in life. All the details and walkthroughs please!! I’ve been hyperfocusing on planning and journaling for the last couple of months. I adore seeing inside people’s planners to give me ideas and inspiration! ❤

Hi! I would love to see your planner walk through and explanation of how you plan your week, month etc. I’m especially curious how do you decide how much to do in a day so not to get in a burn out. I’ve been struggling recently with trying to balance doing stuff and having rest and not planning too much, so not to get stressed out from my own plans 😅 So would love to hear your advice and system regarding this topic ❤

I love planners so much and would love to see the inside of your planner. I’m curious what the layouts are like.

I would love to see how you got into this system of using different books and journals as, being an audhder myself, it is soooo hard to find a system that works and (kind of) sticks! Also would love to see a walk through of it all ❤

Hi! I'm really glad I stumbled on this video, really can relate with everything you said. Actually have made some changes to my setup after seeing this, I'm determined to use up my stash and be more authentic and creative in my journals and care less for aesthetic. Dedicating more time to my hobbies and family by drastically reduce the time I spend on digital devices is my biggest goal for this year. Thank you ❤

    hi charlie ! I hope you're doing well :)
I quite enjoyed this video because while it was short, it was very instructive and detailed and I'd love to know more of course. The fieldnotes book is a amazing idea since I forget things all the time !
Personally, I have a diary where I write about my day, my autism and what I need to say to various therapists. I have a kakebo for my budget, a small notebook for my reading (titles, number of pages, how my month went in terms of reading) and another one for my minimalist journey (what I bought, what I decluttered, which purchases I loved and which ones I regret).
On a sidenote, I recommended your channel to a friend who's getting started on her audhd diagnosis journey and I subscribed to your substack

oooo love the idea that you've got a notebook for your minimalist journey too! You've given me some ideas for topics to write about in mine. Thank you for your support of my videos and on Substack too - so appreciated :)

I love this so much and is something I’ve been doing subconsciously for a while now. For years I put off indulging in my hobbies, because I couldn’t work out a ‘system’ to organise and record my thoughts and notes, which as an AuDHDer can be really stressful! I gained so much from watching this video, thank you so much for sharing! I would love to know where you buy your notebooks from please? It can be very overwhelming trying to simply choose a notebook because there are literally thousands available online 😂 thank you ❤

You're welcome, I'm so glad it helped! I definitely relate to how difficult it feels to work out a system to organise thoughts and life. I also get overwhelmed with the notebook options too - It's taken a lot of false starts to find what I like. I love Leuchtturm A5 dotted softcover notebooks for journaling, and these basic notebooks for my note-taking/commonplace books: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BBM6NFGG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

I'd love to see a walkthough of your notebooks! I have always been obssesed with stationery and keeping hundreds of journals on me at all times. It inspires me to see other people's organization and ways in which they fill them up.
I love your channel. Keep up the good work!
    & Happy New Year :)

Hi! Thanks for your video. It’s always interesting to hear what other people are using and what works for them. I’m using in 2024 a happy planner, a luner and seasonal diary for my spiritual practice, a traveler’s notebook for my journal, a sketchbook for my art, and a Amazon basics notebook for my commonplace book. Happy holidays! 🎄

My partner got me a really nice pen with an engraved quote for Xmas and it’s revitalized my notebook use. I’ve dug back into old notebooks because of it and have noticed that I’m much more on top of things because of it. Not sure if it’s because I find it easier to recall what’s written rather than typed.
I do wonder if current generations learning to take notes on keyboards might not find an opposite result when attempting to try analog, since they’ve grown with digital organization rather than analog.

literally wondered this out loud to my husband the other day! I wonder if Gen Z would find it more difficult to switch 'back' to analog because they don't have a lived experience of it.

So given you've already inspired me to also have a digital detox and come off a lot of social media platforms, I guess I'm signed up for this series for the long haul! xD
Funny you say about not getting along with the Hobonichi planner - I got one based on seeing your one, and I've ended up going back to it for 2024, ironically because I love the paper! IT feels so soft and lush :) BUT I'm planning to pair it with a bullet journal, my beloved Scribbles That Matter A5 journal, where a lot of the heavy colour/scrapbooking stuff will go, where thicker paper will be more important if that makes sense? My Hobonichi Weeks is like a pocket planner, a little organiser thing. Also, I feel like I've had the same idea as you about a pocketbook, but never quite been able to conceptualise/actually express it properly? If that makes sense? So thank you for clearing that tangled knot in my brain up ^_^
On an aside by the way - I love the look of the video! The film grain and 4:3 aspect ratio feels very...vintage but also cosy, and suits the vibe of digital minimalism really well. Are there effects you use for it? ^_^

Hi, what’s the brand of the sketchbook? It looks like a really nice size and i’ve been looking for a bound sketchbook that can handle a bit of water!
