What do you think of #jujutsukaisen and #tojifushiguro ? Is he the greatest villain in #anime? Instagram: Gallenberger1 #jjk #shibuyaincident #gojosatoru #getosuguru #characteranalysis
@@gallenberger1 Since you liked my other comment, just warning you this fandom really sucks for spoilers the most of a modern anime/manga community that I've seen, so beware. lol It's good if you haven't gotten majorly spoiled yet so hope you keep it that way.
I genuinely believe that narratively maki is meant to surpass toji as instead of letting her inadequacies of not having cursed energy be her downfall she embraces it in order to achieve her goals
Toji was basically always a superhuman in exchange for not having CE, the same is not true for Maki. Her powerup doesn’t come from a change in mindset to “embrace” not having cursed energy, it comes from Mai sacrificing herself.
I was happy in the culling games when Toji still got brought up throughout the series. Also how Naoya Zenin recognised when he was young that Toji was the strongest member in the Zenin clan
my favourite part of naoya vs maki was the panel where naoya said the one who belonged up there with toji and gojo was him as he clocked maki shi was tuff as hell despite coming from a bum
Honestly I think that another thing of note is that the second that Toji plays into the "I want to show the world what someone who's powerless can do" side of the powerless trope, he dies. It's the reason that he dies, in fact. He stayed to fight to prove the world wrong against Gojo and got turned into the letter C for it.
She doing what he could not? I am pretty sure that it was mentioned that Zenin clan still exist only because Toji didnt care to kill them, not because he would not be able to.... O ther than that lovely video.
4:28 Regarding this, another point of view is that instead of willingly abstaining, Toji's body is simply so physically strong/idealized that things such as alcohol and drugs simply don't work on him
Toji doesn't take substances because he cannot really get any effect from them. Alcohol doesn't affect him at all. (It was in one of the manga post-chapters of the Hidden Inventory Arc) And Megumi is a girl's name, so there was already some disregard to his son but meaning behind the name nonetheless. Other than that, great analysis
Thanks for this. Someone else pointed out the substance bit, but I had no clue Megumi was a girls name. That disregard from the start is such a Toji thing to do. So happy you pointed that out
You lost me when you said Toji was broke…dude was just 30,000,000 Yen IN ADVANCE to do this one job! That wasn’t even full payment! Honestly he doesn’t even need money!
Toji wasn’t that bad of a guy. I remember him driving 3 hours to come help me fix my porch.. completely out of his way, but he still helped me. Didn’t expect to be paid either (which is unlike him). Solid guy
Honestly, This video really opened my eyes. This was supposed to be a background video but your points were so interesting and introspective and it made me realise things about Toji that I just brushed off. I never really thought about Toji's pride. I did not really think he had any. This video solidifies Toji as best character OAT GOOATTTT 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🐐🐐🐐💯💯💯
That's awesome that it made you see him in a new light! Another great character I covered recently is Pain if you're interested in more. There's also a Sukuna one for more JJK.
Great video, but if I had to provide constructive criticism it would be to elaborate on plot / power scaling elements a bit further in the future. As someone who is familiar with (and who has read) JJK, I understood everything you were talking about and really enjoyed the video. However, if someone was less familiar and wanted to just watch a relatively short video essay on a cool anime villain, they would lack some context for the plot or specifically power scaling. Example: when you referred to Gojo as the the most blessed character, born with both the Six Eyes and Limitless -- that sounds cool, but what the hell does that mean / entail to someone who has never seen JJK? From context clues they could theorize okay, they're a strong cool power in this universe, but what about Geto? So what he managed to nearly kill Geto? Is Geto crazy strong or something? How? Again, super nitpicky, but that would be my only criticism to potentially extend the appeal for an otherwise great video essay.
@@GoodKid Thanks for the constructive criticism! That's definitely something I need to be more mindful of going forward, and having that pointed out genuinely helps
This video made Gojo's storyline make more sense to me. Gojo is a fighting genius, but Toji was on another level of skill and strategy. Gojo had the hax and the brilliance to use the hax to the utmost. But characters like Toji, if they are allowed to be as strong, their superior strategy and battle sense would beat Gojo every time.
it really sucks megumi never found out toji was his father, i think recently in the manga gojo told him he killed his dad but i dont think he actually knows that the guy that he was fighting was his dad. kinda dissapointing
@@gallenberger1 It's more like shitty writing. I'm not going to spoil anything since you said you don't read it but the Manga is currently really badly written with only two chapters left for Gege to somehow make it at least decent.
@@majinhuedeltarunefan8208 Yeah, it's not the best CURRENTLY, but there are amazing parts of it as a whole. Specific characters and arcs are genuinely amazing, stuff like Hidden Inventory is kino, so I'd assume that Megumi not finding out is W writing since its related to Toji whose gege's pookie.

I really like this character, or should I say concept as well. It’s a modern, better version of Lee. The only thing I don’t understand is why can’t the guy just be a normal curse hunter / killer? Does he REALLY have to be the sorcerer killer?
Damn it, I knew I forgot an example to use (Lee). I think him being the sorcerer killer plays into him feeling the need to prove his worth because they are gifted and he isn't.
Him being a Sorcerer Killer plays into the trauma from his time in the Zenin clan, and his unending hatred towards those who are ''gifted'' with Jujutsu.
@WeebGuru6 The first that comes to mind is Lex Luthor. You can argue pretty much any villain who thinks they are doing what they are doing for the greater good or is insane doesn't have malice.
