I think he has a very reasonable argument. The best signing can be determined based on factors like money spent and how the player impacted his team. This is why Antony at Utd has been called a flop so far because even though he has impacted Utd in certain ways, it’s not worth the money spent of him. Reev is spot on with his point, its the impact the players have had on the team overall. City were still champs even without Håland, they still are 2nd. Without Botman and Casemiro, can’t see their respective sides in the position they are. And to call him dumb just because he has a different opinion says a lot about the others.
Should have heard what the other guy said... U have the opportunity to bring a team from bottom half to the first half... How much can haaland improve man city if they were defending champ..
Since when does the number of spots climbed on the table determine a single players impact? Newcastle have changed hands and Manchester United hired a new manager, nearly the whole of the teams themselves have been restructured so how can you put all their success on one player? That is just downright silly.
If we’re talking about impact, Haalands first season at City will be remembered in Prem history for as long as we live. No one else on the list is doing anything near to what he’s doing atm. This is madness
Its because ten years from now none is going to be watching every game to se who made a bigger impact but one glance at the stats will show you haalands goals.
Yeah but rating transfers has to be based on their impact to the team. It's debatable that City would be better without him where as Botman has improved Newcastle dramatically.
@HarryOKane123 so should we put di Maria as MVP of copa America 2021 since messi was also missing in the finals? Should benzema be ballon d’or for 2018 instead of ronaldo since ronaldo didn’t do anything in the finals?
@HarryOKane123 no. They wouldn’t have beaten Bayern that easily if at all without Haaland. Against Madrid, they’re not winning 4-0 without Haaland. Like Bernardo first goal, that space ain’t there without Haaland pulling the two CB’s. Also against inter, there was WAY too much space for Rodri. Mainly cause defender is focused on Haaland. I 100% guarantee city would’ve found a way to bottle the UCL without Haaland. They’ve done so for the last 6 years.
I listen to Pitch Side whist working and i've just thought.. If I got £1 every time Theo had bad ball knowledge, I wouldn't have to work. Also, Reev is 100% correct. Best Signing isn't about goals, it's how they impact the team, City have remained the same and Newcastle are flying high. I'm not a Newcastle fan but their defensive stats this season are incredible.
It's honestly such a good point he made though, not even god could have the same impact in terms of spots climbed on the table than Sven has, it's impossible... which is why it's silly Reev used it as his main argument. Plus, Sven hasn't even done it himself. It's honestly just quite a silly argument
The best signing is a question answered from the perspective of the club, and City have been worse with Haaland, therefore from Man City's perspective he is not the best signing of the window. Haaland has been the best player that was signed this season, but not the best signing.
I'm sure the point of a getting a big signing is to improve the team? Haaland has made City worse imo and for all the goals he scored his big game impact has been minimal recently. The amount of times City's play breaks down because he doesn't drop deep is a big problem why city concede so many chances recently.
Tom saying Utd were in the conversation for top 4 at the start of the season is ABSOLUTE bollocks! and he knows it! we were predicted to have a shocking season, just look up PL predictions on UA-cam before the season, you'll struggle to find that many that have us making top 4. People predicted liverpool to be at their usual best, arsenal to improve, Tuchels Chelsea to improve with massive transfer window and Spurs under Conte were looking pretty good - most people said we were the 6th best team in the country at that point
Gents, Haaland scored 25 PL goals in 19 games not 20. He was injured for 1 game. As for City defense, Pep has chopped & changed the backline so many times, there’s not been a single backline lineup and position that has stayed the same for more than 2 games. That’s what is sinking the defense as well as some of the injuries. But Pep hasn’t allowed the backline to build any chemistry or partnerships bc of all his changing to a degree we’ve never seen before.
Reeve has taken an L but you kinda expect Haaland to break the record in this City team, its hardly a shock that he's breaking records 😅 Botman, Caesmiro have elevated their clubs. No one expected them to have the impact they've had so far but you expect Haaland to have the impact he's had. Best signing/best player shouldn't always be most goals scored.
To toms point - city haven’t played with a striker for years. They’ve relied on 3-5 people getting goals and playing as a team. Not a system that creates opportunities for one player. Sterling, jesus, silva and mahrez is very different to Halaand
Given Leeds current place in the table im not surprised that Tyler Adams wasnt included but he has been a massive signing this season given his price. Man locks down midfields every week.
I'm late to the party here but that was seriously entertaining boys! I don't think Reeve takes an L here. I understand the frustration that City didn't have enough improvement to do so Earling's impact but that's just how it is, isn't it... Great episode! Also Pope at #1 LMFAO
As a newcastle fan i would still say haaland 1st because of his record so far but sven botman 100% 2nd and nick pope also top 5, good to see them getting the recognition they deserve
City will end on less points than previous years despite Halaands goals. Incredible goal scorer and one of the best signings, but it’s possible for other arguments to exist. Well done Reev.
1. botman 2.haaland 3.casemiro if haaland made city a better team they would be clear of everyone in the league but they are trying to focus too much on getting him goals
One of the best cases to prove Reev is right is Ronaldo last season. Yes, he bought goals and some vital ones but those goals didn’t help the team, dynamic or position in the league. An individual is pointless if their effect on the team doesn’t help/detriments it. Haaland is insane. He’s a goal machine BUT he hasn’t massively (if at all) improved City. They could easily get second at this stage without him.
I agree with reev. Halaand has been mental ye but he joined a team that has already been dominating England , his stats are unreal ofc he’s been sick and you’d be silly to not to put him in top 3 but city would’ve realistically been top 3 anyway . But case and Botman have changed their clubs, no one expected united and newcastle to be where they’re this season. Reev W
In comparison: Man City have scored 53 goals in 20 games this season with Haaland scoring 25. Last season without Haaland they've scored 51. Not a huge difference imo, so I'd agree with Reev on this one. Botman or Casemiro would be first for me
Haaland may be the best player out of all of them (maybe not Casemiro), but he hasn't filled a big of a hole as much as Botman, Martinez, Casemiro or even Palhinha.
Completely agree with everything reev has said, haalands personal achievement is great but ultimately when he doesn’t score he doesn’t do anything, furthermore city actually look like a worse team and more one dimensional with haaland.
Saliba, Martinez and Stones better than Botman ? GET THAT CASUAL OUT OF HERE. Haaland has made City worse lol, Reev is yet again the most sensible person here. Also, I’m a defender of Haaland being a “tap in” merchant cause you have to be there to score them BUT jesus, it’s not like he’s doing a Luis Suarez, scoring all types of goals, he’s basically only scoring tap ins.
City scored fewer goals this season than last season. All they did with Haaland was move the goals around. City won the league "without a striker" and now they've won the league with a striker, just with fewer team goals. This isn't fantasy football, and Reev is right.
I didn't forget that part. He didn't score in the final 6 games of the season. He didn't score in either leg of the Champions League semi final, despite City scoring 5, or score in the final. He didn't score in the FA Cup final. He's a magnificent #9 but I don't think he has been the difference-maker he's made out to be, hence why I don't think he's the signing of the season despite racking up plenty of goals. He didn't drag Man City to a treble, he just took part in it. You'd have a stronger argument if he hadn't scored so many goals but did score the crucial goals to get to the final, then win it. But he didn't.
@@b3n3jyou don’t think he’s been the difference maker? You’re so delusional. When he’s getting marked by 2/3 players he sacrifices himself to free up other players.

I think there’s definitely been other players in the Premier League that I’ve had a bigger impact than Harland, just because he’s scoring the goals doesn’t mean he’s the best player also this is why defenders don’t often win the big awards in football.

I like Tom, Theo doesn't have a clue about football but their take on Haaland isn't 100% After 27 games City had scored 1 goal less than the same stage as last season even with all of Haaland goals. They aren't scoring anymore than they were before, they have changed how they play and are simply running everything through him. What he has done is unreal but his impact has changed much for City.. They haven't even increased their amount of goals.
You my friend do not understand football. City’s injuries in defence has been why they are worse, as well as players not putting in the shift to get back to defend. Nothing to do with how they attack. Playing stones as right back and Ake as left back would play a much bigger role in why they aren’t winning games
So true. Everyone is so stats based. All Haaland has done is score goals and everyone has gone straight to he is the best but the team has taken a hit from it
Listening to the prat saying Haaland is a worse signing than Botman is like listening to the biggest prat of them all - Mark Goldbridge. " United doesn´t need Haaland " Then United pay even more for Antony who are totally crap, and Wout Weghorst, who is a championship striker at best.
Reeve can have this one sure because he’s taken a massive fat L. Not everyone plays the same. An arsenal striker plays differently to a Man City one it’s down to play style. You can’t expect Haaland to be doing what other strikers to do because that isn’t his role . Players have different attributes. Yes Haaland can’t dribble like other players but other players don’t have Haaland touch or positioning . Both are good it’s just a matter of preference that the coach wants to implement into their system. If ppl agree with reeve then you can’t agree with benzema winning the ballandore, that man required a lot of service .
you completely missed the fucking point Reev was making. How many goals did City score last season without Haaland.....loads. How many games did Newcastle lose last season without Botman/pope loads. The point he is making and the point of a great signing is the impact on the club. Their impact has drastically changed Newcastle where Haaland hasn't drastically changed City.
@@TheGamingPanda20 I understand that . However what else would you expect Haaland to do. They signed the best striker this season for 50 million which is a bargain . Other than this pep is a smart manager he wouldn’t get someone who wont fit their system. He isn’t ole gunner only signing big names. Haaland obviously does fit their system. From a Fulham perspective: Palhinha Leno Willian Diop Pereira Palhinha should honestly be easily top 3 in every list anyone who disagrees does not know ball. He's practically a 1 man midfeild at times this season. A champions league player for what was meant to be a relegation battle is signing of the season material.
The point of a transfer is to have an impact on the team and make them better, haaland has made them worse but he is still having an amazing personal season don't get me wrong but as a 'signing' he has made them worse so how can he be the best signing when he has done the opposite to what a signing is supposed to do.
I wouldnt say he made them worse, but I would say he hasn't made his team better as much as Casemiro, Botman, Martinez or even Palhinha. At this point of the season City have scored 2 goals more than last season. Their defence is the biggest factor right now and, hey, Arsenal are just having an amazing season.
i’d say the best signing is from who gains their club the most positions in the table, haaland has been amazing but without him they’d still be 2nd or at very lowest 3rd, botman and pope have helped their team more than haaland as they’ve taken them up like 5 positions in the table
I hate people saying haaland has made man city worse. Arsenal are on for 100 points city didn’t do that last season they got 93 they are basically on for a similar amount this season. Reev is trying to create a narrative.
Haaland is actually just too world class that people have just adjusted to what he’s doing and actually expect it. They don’t understand that we are witnessing history, we are lucky to be watching this behemoth of a man. He scores goals for fun. I just wreckon no one has a clue the player he is and his spectacular skill level because they don’t watch City games but he doesn’t just walk around the pitch and hit tap-ins from KDB crosses. Just because City lost a few important pieces last summer in the transfer window and have gone down a level as a whole doesn’t mean that Haaland’s exceptional performance has to be diminished? Everyone just expects this type of output from Haaland without understanding what is actually being achieved here. And he was only 50-60 mil 🤦♀️ He might not just be the best signing this season but the best signing in the last decade
He’s made city worse because of the focus they put on him, like reev said when he doesn’t get chances what does he do? The goals he’s scored would come from elsewhere if city didn’t have him
@@wesleybrown2683 That's a bogus response and you know it 😂 Why does the fact that he isn't getting chances devaluing him as a player or an elite signing? That's just the City team as a whole not being able to create opportunities for him... that's not any of his business. His job is to score goals. It's like saying Nick Pope is a horrible keeper because he never gets opportunities to stop shots, but what you have to understand is that when he gets the opportunity, he's an elite shot stopper. It's the same with Haaland, nearly every single player in the premier league (especially strikers) will play worse if the team around them is playing worse, and that's just simple logic and it's a part of football. That doesn't mean Haaland doesn't impact the game, is an ineffective player, or isn't signing of the year. I don't understand your point. So Haaland is worse because the City team is struggling more to create chances than last year? How tf do you know if he wasn't there than City would be on the same goals, that's just bogus😂 I dare you to actually watch a City game and see for yourself.
No one's doubting his level of skill, he's the best player in all of these lists, but as a signing for this season he hasn't elevated or changed his club in the slightest, City is the same, if not worse, team they were last year in terms of performance, whilst Newcastle and United are doing work.
Because city at the time needed a striker, so they brought one in and he had the best individual season a striker has ever had in the premier league and won the treble in his first season
Casemiro 2 red cards, costing his team points, that´s having a NEGATIVE impact on the team, so that alone makes Casemiro NOT being the best signing. Pure United Bias.
Reeve actually has class football knowledge, can tell these lot don't watch as much ball as him. Reeve actually explains his points the others just scream and go WHAT.
Reevs point is completely valid, the toprhy for the most goals is golden boot. Doesn't make you automatically the best player. How can a player who gets like 6 to 10 touches a game but bags a ton of goals be the best footballer if his goals don't win his team the league
Hardest job in football is goalkeeper, no idea where striker being the hardest job has come from. Especially with how much more goalkeepers are expected to do now.
I reckon top three is 3 haaland 2 botman 1 casimiro The reason is because that if you put haaland on a team like brentford or any mid table team he wouldn’t score half those goals the reason is he has the players around to feed him the passes and gets him all the tap ins even if he is in the right areas he wouldn’t get the right passes.
As a neutral who doesnt support any premier league club, i think reev is spot on. In todays world, most of the fans only look at goals which is why in their opinion Haaland is the best signing and you have to respect that but I feel like he hasnt changed the team massively and that City has been playing according to his strengths which is why he is on 25 goals this season so far and in second it is Phil Foden with 7 goals. Where as last season it was evenly spread and not just focus on one man to pass.
Haaland has made city worse... Yeah he's individually smashing it, scoring goals and getting the wins. But the whole team, who are used to playing without a striker just aren't playing well. The creative players like Foden and Silva even De Bruyne to an extent have struggled way more trying to force chances to go to Haaland. It's also meant one of the mid players had to fill the gap in the forward players and a defender then had to play further forward. They've basically lost a defender and gained a forward. Tactics are to just outscore opponents no matter how many are conceded. which mostly works but as soon as they come up against a team that don't sit back, they struggle.
I actually feel bad for reev having to deal with these bunch of fanboys they just say what everyone else says reev actually thinks about his list to make the show better
If City were top of the league then it would obviously Haaland. But despite all his goals, they are second, so as a signing there is at least the chance that someone has been a better if you view it as the impact they have had on their team. I'm a Utd fan and I'm not certain it isn't Haaland still, but I agree there is a debate to be had.
I think Reev is right, you see what casemiro and botman have done for the teams as a whole. They’ve brought their teams up and elevated them. If haaland has impacted them so greatly, why arent they first? He scores a hattrick against wolves but then disappears against united. Haaland should’ve brought his team up but instead his teammates have all fallen off a bit.

I think he has a very reasonable argument. The best signing can be determined based on factors like money spent and how the player impacted his team. This is why Antony at Utd has been called a flop so far because even though he has impacted Utd in certain ways, it’s not worth the money spent of him. Similarly, Haaland has scored SO much already but City are still second in the league. Haaland has the best performance but his impact isn’t as strong as someone like Casemiro’s

And at 50 mil pounds that's unbelievable business. I know City are a great team, and most strikers would score a decent amount, but he's breaking records.
Giroud would be scoring double figures in that city team. Not taking anything from haaland, he is insane. The point is about impact you have in a team. Haaland hasn't taken city to a new level imo, but he was what they needed (and more) and 100% a top 3 signing.

I think Reev is mad for Haaland at 3rd, but I 100% back him on Palhinha. Definitely top 10, arguably top 5
Why? Kane has 16 goals at this spurs team that is struggling… 16. Put him in that city team and he is also around 20-25 goals too. Defenders are grossly overlooked
Reev is spot on with his point, its the impact the players have had on the team overall. City were still champs even without Håland, they still are 2nd. Without Botman and Casemiro, can’t see their respective sides in the position they are. And to call him dumb just because he has a different opinion says a lot about the others.
Exactly. Theo can be really annoying when he lifts his nose up
Should have heard what the other guy said...
By that logic no player city sign would be an improvement since they already won the league without them 🤡.
@@mattiknowyourmum7521 Exactly, it makes no sense. That's why Tom made the argument that even if City signed God he couldn't win signing of the year.
@KaneyWarriorand also wins them a treble..
Theo is such a child 😂 honestly Reevs ball knowledge is levels above his.

Also, Reev is 100% correct. Best Signing isn't about goals, it's how they impact the team, City have remained the same and Newcastle are flying high. I'm not a Newcastle fan but their defensive stats this season are incredible.
If Arsenal win the league, Theo will be the first one to say Odegaard should win POTY even if Haaland scored 100 goals this season.

It's honestly such a good point he made though, not even god could have the same impact in terms of spots climbed on the table than Sven has, it's impossible... which is why it's silly Reev used it as his main argument. Plus, Sven hasn't even done it himself. It's honestly just quite a silly argument
BOTMAN for me is the best signing
The distance that Newcastle’s signings have taken their team is further than halaand has taken city
The best signing is a question answered from the perspective of the club, and City have been worse with Haaland, therefore from Man City's perspective he is not the best signing of the window. Haaland has been the best player that was signed this season, but not the best signing.
Haaland has scored lots of goals, but he hasn’t had any impact on City at all.
Reeve is right - and he stood his ground, good lad.
I'm sure the point of a getting a big signing is to improve the team? Haaland has made City worse imo and for all the goals he scored his big game impact has been minimal recently. The amount of times City's play breaks down because he doesn't drop deep is a big problem why city concede so many chances recently.
Do you still back this?
Tom is spot on. Haaland is having an unprecedented season and it’s not being appreciated here
Tom saying Utd were in the conversation for top 4 at the start of the season is ABSOLUTE bollocks! and he knows it! we were predicted to have a shocking season, just look up PL predictions on UA-cam before the season, you'll struggle to find that many that have us making top 4.
I'd have
1. Casemiro
2. Haaland
3. Botman

Reeve has taken an L but you kinda expect Haaland to break the record in this City team, its hardly a shock that he's breaking records 😅 Botman, Caesmiro have elevated their clubs. No one expected them to have the impact they've had so far but you expect Haaland to have the impact he's had. Best signing/best player shouldn't always be most goals scored.
exactly, so why is it a Reev L when you just agreed that "best signing shouldn't always be most goals scored"

Casemiro over botman only because new castles defense as a whole has been great and uniteds middlefield without casemiro looked awful
City will end on less points than previous years despite Halaands goals. Incredible goal scorer and one of the best signings, but it’s possible for other arguments to exist. Well done Reev.
To be honest I was surprised zinchenko was not top 5 in every list? He has been marvelous this season and is a BIG part of Arsenals success!
1. botman
2.haaland
3.casemiro
if haaland made city a better team they would be clear of everyone in the league but they are trying to focus too much on getting him goals
That’s just so different though
I agree with reev. Halaand has been mental ye but he joined a team that has already been dominating England , his stats are unreal ofc he’s been sick and you’d be silly to not to put him in top 3 but city would’ve realistically been top 3 anyway . But case and Botman have changed their clubs, no one expected united and newcastle to be where they’re this season. Reev W
In comparison: Man City have scored 53 goals in 20 games this season with Haaland scoring 25.
Last season without Haaland they've scored 51. Not a huge difference imo, so I'd agree with Reev on this one. Botman or Casemiro would be first for me
The best signing has been Casimero. He transformed United and we can see how much weaker without him. He really is the general of our team.
Haaland may be the best player out of all of them (maybe not Casemiro), but he hasn't filled a big of a hole as much as Botman, Martinez, Casemiro or even Palhinha.
Both Tom and Theo cant cope with being wrong. Reev was spot on
That’s mad how someone who is gonna break a shit ton of goal records in his first season isn’t number 1….dudes literally gonna be in the record books
Theo doesn’t know 1 thing never watches ball reev brilliant
Reev W as per, only one who actually does these lists correct
City scored fewer goals this season than last season. All they did with Haaland was move the goals around. City won the league "without a striker" and now they've won the league with a striker, just with fewer team goals. This isn't fantasy football, and Reev is right.
And also won the treble... you forgot that part.

The guy on the right sound like Gary Neville
I think there’s definitely been other players in the Premier League that I’ve had a bigger impact than Harland, just because he’s scoring the goals doesn’t mean he’s the best player also this is why defenders don’t often win the big awards in football.

After 27 games City had scored 1 goal less than the same stage as last season even with all of Haaland goals. They aren't scoring anymore than they were before, they have changed how they play and are simply running everything through him. What he has done is unreal but his impact has changed much for City.. They haven't even increased their amount of goals.
How can Haaland be the best transfer, when he’s made them worse as a team and more one dimensional
All Haaland has done is score goals and everyone has gone straight to he is the best but the team has taken a hit from it
Do some critical thinking. He has not made us worse.

Their impact has drastically changed Newcastle where Haaland hasn't drastically changed City.
the point is he doesn't fit their system though, Benzema fits Real Madrid.

They’re all saying that Haaland has scored ridiculous amounts of goals, but I think I could score 10 for City in a season if you stuck me up front.
The point of a transfer is to have an impact on the team and make them better, haaland has made them worse but he is still having an amazing personal season don't get me wrong but as a 'signing' he has made them worse so how can he be the best signing when he has done the opposite to what a signing is supposed to do.
I’m sick of people saying this, please tell me why haaland has made city worse because this myth is becoming a joke
Love how the last list just take the piss out of Theo and the other guy😂
i’d say the best signing is from who gains their club the most positions in the table, haaland has been amazing but without him they’d still be 2nd or at very lowest 3rd, botman and pope have helped their team more than haaland as they’ve taken them up like 5 positions in the table

No one's doubting his level of skill, he's the best player in all of these lists, but as a signing for this season he hasn't elevated or changed his club in the slightest, City is the same, if not worse, team they were last year in terms of performance, whilst Newcastle and United are doing work.
why does the football community see high amount of goals and that makes them better than others
Because city at the time needed a striker, so they brought one in and he had the best individual season a striker has ever had in the premier league and won the treble in his first season
Theo how can you have Willian & Pereira for Fulham but no Palhinha? Do you watch football? Palhinha is the best signing of the summer!
Martinez is the top 5 CB right now in pl and they don't even remember him
Casemiro 2 red cards, costing his team points, that´s having a NEGATIVE impact on the team, so that alone makes Casemiro NOT being the best signing. Pure United Bias.
After this, Theo yet again proves his -0 ball knowledge
Reeve actually has class football knowledge, can tell these lot don't watch as much ball as him. Reeve actually explains his points the others just scream and go WHAT.
Reevs point is completely valid, the toprhy for the most goals is golden boot. Doesn't make you automatically the best player. How can a player who gets like 6 to 10 touches a game but bags a ton of goals be the best footballer if his goals don't win his team the league
Hardest job in football is goalkeeper, no idea where striker being the hardest job has come from. Especially with how much more goalkeepers are expected to do now.
I reckon top three is
3 haaland
2 botman
1 casimiro
The reason is because that if you put haaland on a team like brentford or any mid table team he wouldn’t score half those goals the reason is he has the players around to feed him the passes and gets him all the tap ins even if he is in the right areas he wouldn’t get the right passes.
0 ball knowledge here
I actually feel bad for reev having to deal with these bunch of fanboys they just say what everyone else says reev actually thinks about his list to make the show better
15:00 imo toms wrong, if Haaland doesn't score, City don't score.
Haaland should’ve brought his team up but instead his teammates have all fallen off a bit.
this guy in the cap should never come on this show again. United was never in the talk for top 4 or evens top 6.
