Informedia Tech hi if i send you my amplifier details can you tell-me wich speakers and sub and the diference between ported and sealed sub boxes i can buy to get a big boom from it and powerfull bass?
People unhappy with the MSRP of this amp seem to be missing the point. This (and similar JL Audio amps) isn't a SPL amp, it isn't a off the shelf cookie cutter design with a relabeled heatsink...and it'll probably still be providing great service 10 years down the road. The efficiency numbers tell the story here. Excellent power supply and well thought out overall design. I'd take a serious look at this amp if you want the most out of your SQ-oriented system without sacrificing space and utilizing plenty of power that's easy on your electrical system. Dereck, a nice dyno and review of a quality amp!
Quality costs money. Anything worth doing right is worth paying properly for. This is the thing that drives me crazy about this scene. So many cheap asses.
MSH68 💯 agree with you. I tell people all the time, pure wattage is not the end all in car audio amps. Yes you can buy a sundown, audiopipe, skar, or any of the other brands that do rated, but how is the noise floor? Does it thermal? And most importantly how does it control the sub and is it efficient? And don't forget...headroom for dynamic peaks. Any amp that does all that well will cost you real money.
As a former AC employee, I can say the majority of their car equipment is designed in-house in conjunction with another well known NorthWest company that specializes in amp design for a number of other manufacturers. They are made overseas, but service and support are both done in house at the facility in Mountlake Terrace, Washington outside of Seattle. The folks that work there are dedicated and love what they do. The products are worth the price considering the warranty, and unless you put it underwater or smash it with a hammer they almost never question warranty issues, often times just replacing the unit outright. All of their products are over-engineered and over-perform, and I have seen repairs on devices that were more than a decade out of production. They are still locally owned and have been for over 40 years I have a D6.1200 with the DSP controlled RCA's feeding a LC-1.1500(both of which I paid for), controlled by a Pioneer DEX-P99RS, a Morel active 3-way system up front and a pair of Morel Ultimo Titanium 12's in my Mustang, and I have seldom heard a system that sounds better. The biggest issue with their products is that you have to know what you are doing to set up the DSP and all the cfg options to get everything you can out of them. If you are a "max power" bro, these are not the products for you.
As a former AC employee I actually had a few questions that you may know. I also bought this amp. And indeed he is strong. I just noticed a few things. 1. I've set it up with an SMD DD-1 and monitored the clipping indicator of the amp itself, but still no clipping detectable at "full gain" with track 7 (high bass) from SMD and the amp. 2. The cooling fan is always running, and not like other amps I have and have had when they get too hot. 3. I expected the amp to be cooler considering it's a class D amp. But my previous class A/B (Steg K2.03 bridged over 1000 watts) amp bridged at four ohms didn't get as hot as the Audio Control. It is certain that it is more efficient than the Steg (less ampere hungry) But are all of the above "particularities" normal?
Still 125 or 200w rms per speaker channel coming out of AC's 1200W amps is extremely loud and would suit majority of people looking for a high power even higher sound quality amp
So I bought the D-4.800 and the LC-1.800. I'm going to running the LC-1.800 as a slave amp for my sub. I bought the ACR-3 to run my position settings and use as the remote sub control. These are the first audio control products I have ever purchased and I have to share some observations so far....... When I got the amps and ACR-3, the first thing I did was open them up and check them out. The fit and finish of the amps is AMAZING! All of the switches and pots are PERFECTLY aligned with the face plate. The quality of the components is really nice. The ACR-3 feels so well built. It has this nice tactile feel and AudioControl includes recommendations on the packaging for installation, including custom installations. I am really close to the final steps of my install and can't wait to get to tuning. I have had to call AudioControl a couple times to get some questions answered and the technical customer service has been phenomenal. I think these have been worth every penny so far and highly recommend AudioControls amps.

I've been using AudioControl products since 2003. I LOVE the company. I currently have a US-made OVERDRIVE PLUS line driver that I prize a lot; it allows me to use my subwoofer amp at its minimum gain when using a DD-1. When I found out they made amps, I was so happy. It's one of the few audio companies that I trust. I have enough amps, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy am amp from them if I needed it. I find it hilarious how they always make sure in their manuals that you understand they're located in a rain forest and how it's always raining down there. They reiterate it multiple times and it's so funny. God bless!

@@ronimhofffacts2858 I have this amplifier and I had 2 DD 608's in a ported box that was unknowing to me were wired to 1 ohm. I’ve been curious since seeing Mark at CAF showing them off. When they asked if I wanted to test I knew I wasn’t the only one curious to see how their new amps do
Hi Big D, its been a while you posted this video. It made me buy two off them for my two Morel Ultimo ti124 (not the SC by the way) in the trunk and one for the front sub (Mac Audio Aliante 12 black Ltd.). I am very happy with the output and sound quality. BUT negatively surprised me how hot they get for a class d amp (max 15 seconds touchable after ten minutes on power!). I lived right next to mountlake terrace in the 90's, and had numerous audio control cross overs 4xs 2xs line drivers etc. We used to be able to pick em up from the audio control shop on 220th, right by funtasia(gangtasia, if you were from here).🤣
Hey Derek, I'm looking to match an amplifier to a single 13W7. Which would you recommend for the price, the LC 1.1500 or the Rockford T1500-1bdcp? Thanks for all the awesome work you do!
Both amps will put out similar power at 3 ohms, if you need compact size, the AudioControl is hard to beat. If you plan on ever adding another 13W7, may want to go RF
I have been running a pair of JL Audio 10W3v3 in a JL stealth box off the Audio Control 1.800. It made the Alpine amp I had before sound like crap. The Audio Control is on a whole other level to the Alpine. I am getting rid of the JL Stealth box and installing 2 Image Dynamics IDQ-12's and a Audio Control 1.1500 in an old school looking SQ build. Still living that 90's old school audio life. Just with more efficient amps. 😂😂😂😂
Installed mine last night in my truck. I have six 6.5 inch sundown woofers. I had my amp tuned professionally and the subs hit harder than my alpine amp/two 10.5 inch Boston acoustic subs in my crown Vic. The amp barely gets warm after three hours of driving around.
Man nothing like an efficient amp. I have a rockford T-1000 and a T-1500 both extremely efficient at 2 ohm and not horrible @ 1 ohm. Less power=more power? Weird. Nice amp audio control!
It is also close to the Cerwin Vega V1500.1d amp (1ohmstable). I have yet to use the current CV amps that replaced that line, but they also run at only 2ohm minimum load also. That being said I'm going with 4 of those AC amps to 8 Savard Raps 15's 😉 plus the 6 channel for the highs for the next build
Do you have any amps that were repaired by Shawn King? I'd like to see some of his work on the dyno. My Orion 250 HCCA will be with him for the next few weeks.
That whole album is bad ass. Loaned it to a homie... he said that bumps gotta hear it in my truck. never got it back. Mp3 just cant do the same quality.
my alpine 3566 broke so I replaced it with a alpine pdx-v9, and Im really disappointed, the highs sound really unnatural and the they dont sound warm. I thought since time went past sound quality wouldnt go down but I guess thats what you get with class D. I am now looking to replace the pdx with a lc 6.1200, have you had any experience with those?
Audio control makes great products. I had a navigator with a pioneer head unit and now have a Lexus with a stock unit so I had to get a high-low. Didn't want some cheap shit so I got the LC7 and it sounds better tapped into the stock sub than it did in my navigator with RCAs. Crazy was not expecting it I was really worried my sound wouldnt sound anywhere as good
I have a cheap amp and I get no hiss. The sub does not resonate hiss, when I put full range speakers on I get hiss. I heard from one Man that there was massive his on the 800 8 channel DSP. I do not trust them. I think I will get a class A for full range and class D for subs. Thanks for the test.
What's a good 1500.1 amplifier for 2 12 inch L7 kicker subwoofers wired down to a 1ohm load ?? Trying to find a good 1500.1 1ohm stable amplifier, got any good ideas ??
Soundqubed S1-2250 is an amazing amplifier for the price. $250 for 2400 watts (check the videos) and bass knob has a clip light right on it. Wolfram also makes a very similar amplifier with clip indicator on the bass knob
@Williston Audio Labs Have you had the opportunity to test one of their multi channel amps with the DSP built-in? I was looking through your previous videos but I didn't see if you did.
Good day Dereck. I have been through nearly all your videos. Have you ever done one with a dyno test on an Audio Control LC-1.800? Please keep up the fantastic job that you do. Regards and thanks, Randy Ng-a-Fook down in Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.
Help direct me bc I am not a pro. I plan to install a single 10" DVC from Alpine's Type R line up. Idk if I should get the 2 or 4 ohm version yet. They're rated at 750 RMS, but it also says 300-750 RMS, so I was thrown off there in terms of RMS. is that dependent on how I wire it? Also, I plan to upgrade my inside speakers in the future, so how do I go about installing my sub now, but have it ready for the future when I just want to drop in the interior speakers? I'll keep the factory HU since the screen has climate control. There's 2 tweeters, 4 doors, and 2 for the rear deck. Not sure if I'll upgrade all 8 though.
I went through crutchfiled and just ordered this he suggested this for the 2 alpine x12wd4 subs i have. Havent gotten yet but do you think this will do the job
@@wal i have car audio fabrication designing a box now. I did the big 3 upgrade and added an additional battery along with a 3farad cap. That sound alright? I originally just had 1 of the subs with the alpine 900m series mono block amp. He still doesnt believe in mono blocks lol guess theyve come a long way over the years

Nice piece of equipment there. A lot of nice features. Great SQ amplifier. Would pound a single 12 or a couple lower RMS 12s or 10s... Nice!
Plus very efficient
So which one is more clean for you? This one or T1500-1bdcp? They're the same price
Can’t go wrong either way honestly
@@wal i go with the audio control is smaller than the T1500-1 👌
Can you test the lc-1.800 thanks
Very nice amp and review. If I were lookin for an amp right now I would defiantly be after that one.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have this amp. Sounds amazing
Have you tested the ACM-1.300?
I’m curious and can’t seem to find anything on its output. Thanks!
Very, very acceptable. Try Bass Computer next time from Techmaster P.E.B.
I’ll get some new bass tracks loaded up for you guys 🕺
That whole album is bad ass. Loaned it to a homie... he said that bumps gotta hear it in my truck. never got it back. Mp3 just cant do the same quality.
my alpine 3566 broke so I replaced it with a alpine pdx-v9, and Im really disappointed, the highs sound really unnatural and the they dont sound warm. I thought since time went past sound quality wouldnt go down but I guess thats what you get with class D. I am now looking to replace the pdx with a lc 6.1200, have you had any experience with those?
I have played with the full range AudioControl amps, but the sub amps are 👌
Great review. Thinking of adding this amp to my system. Running two memphis 12s m6
Audio control makes great products. I had a navigator with a pioneer head unit and now have a Lexus with a stock unit so I had to get a high-low. Didn't want some cheap shit so I got the LC7 and it sounds better tapped into the stock sub than it did in my navigator with RCAs. Crazy was not expecting it I was really worried my sound wouldnt sound anywhere as good
Will this amp pick up a sundown x12 subwoofer
That Infinity subwoofer reminds me somehow the Sony XS-HS12 (nostalgia time :P)
It does a bit
I have a cheap amp and I get no hiss. The sub does not resonate hiss, when I put full range speakers on I get hiss. I heard from one Man that there was massive his on the 800 8 channel DSP. I do not trust them. I think I will get a class A for full range and class D for subs. Thanks for the test.
It illuminates blue out through the cooling fins
Would I still need a reg lc line out with this amp for factory radio
Just my two cents...this is a confirmed Nikola Engineering design. It says so right on the PCB beside the left-hand output inductor.
Is that Tesla’s amplifier division 👈😊
As always Big D excellent video and very informative. What would you run for sq JL Fosgate Power series or Audio control?
Depends if I was running 1 ohm or 2. 1 ohm RF for sure, but if I was running 2 and had space concerns, I’d go AC for sure
@@wal nice, thanks.
I have 2 2ohm woofers. will this effect any thing on this amp?
How would this amp fair with 4x Sundown X-6.5S4 hooked up to it? The RE of each sub is ~2.9ohm.
Keep em comin' big D! Let's see sum more budget class ds!
I got all kinds of goodies coming! Budget, Brazilian, and more!
It looks like a old Rockford inside nice amp is it made in USA?
Engineered in the US. I’m not certain but believe it’s made in Korea. I’ll check with AC
How does the amp meter read 180A when the amp is only fused for 160A? What am I missing here? Also, I would love to see a dyno test of their D-6.1200
Fuses can pass much more current than they are rated
Any chance you could do this for the LC 4.800?
nice amp, I've always been partial to audio control
I’ve not owned much AC, but I can see now why people are passionate about the company
What's a good 1500.1 amplifier for 2 12 inch L7 kicker subwoofers wired down to a 1ohm load ?? Trying to find a good 1500.1 1ohm stable amplifier, got any good ideas ??
Rockford fosgate 25 to life punch 150 would flex them. But it's a 2 channel amp. Look up its dyno numbers 😁
Anything Korean rated at 1500.
Soundqubed S1-2250 is an amazing amplifier for the price. $250 for 2400 watts (check the videos) and bass knob has a clip light right on it. Wolfram also makes a very similar amplifier with clip indicator on the bass knob
Skar RP1500.1
The RF T1500.1BDCP is hard to beat. Get refurbished and save a few hundred bucks
Big D, great work as always! If you get a free moment would enjoy chatting with you. Thanks. Kip
Great video Big D Wiz! 👍
Amps looks like the JL 1000.1.
had my head phones on and I could hear stuff shaking in the room that amp sounds great
Shake your foundation 🔊
@Williston Audio Labs Have you had the opportunity to test one of their multi channel amps with the DSP built-in? I was looking through your previous videos but I didn't see if you did.
Not AudioControl, but Sony. I haven’t edited the video yet
Not that one, I try to test as many as I can. Thanks for the suggestion
Not sure if I'll upgrade all 8 though.
what amp do you have or planning to pair with the sub
Hey brother, Have you EVER seen or dynoed an amp that registers 90% efficient or better??
Check the Korean 3-3.5k battle and the DC/Crrscendo amps at 4 ohms were > 90% efficient
I plan to use this to run one Rockford T1 SLIM 10” lol I’ll have plenty headroom for rise. Lol I’ll turn the out put down quite a bit.
Sorry if I missed it, does GTO signal sense work with just an rca input?
I wonder how much power the audiocontrol lc.1500 would put out @15 volts?.
Would love to see you do a dyno on the audiocontrol lc6.1200 or d-6.1200 amp?
Big D you every testeda jbl 5501? If so can you run it on 1 ohm. Its only 2 and 4 ohms
No disrespect.could you recommend a better amp for $800
That’s why I had to buy the LC-1.800 and LC-6.1200 for my next build. 😁
I think you made sound choices. These are superb amps!
Would like to see the output @12 volts
I went through crutchfiled and just ordered this he suggested this for the 2 alpine x12wd4 subs i have. Havent gotten yet but do you think this will do the job
Oh yeah that will be a sweet setup provided the correct box and electrical 🤙
@@wal i have car audio fabrication designing a box now. I did the big 3 upgrade and added an additional battery along with a 3farad cap. That sound alright? I originally just had 1 of the subs with the alpine 900m series mono block amp. I honestly dont think i heard 900 watts out of that amp and even a old school installer listened to it and said it was more around 3-400 watts. He still doesnt believe in mono blocks lol guess theyve come a long way over the years
I love this amplifier for sq builds with plenty of power.
I’d agree
hi if i send you my amplifier details can you tell-me wich speakers and sub and the diference between ported and sealed sub boxes i can buy to get a big boom from it and powerfull bass?
No comprende 🤷♂️
I would love to see dyno runs on an xtant 121m and an alpine v12 mrd-m500
Damn that amp is impressive as hell.
I’d agree 🕺
Do you have and videos on setting up a car audio system at home?
Even at 65 I find it hard to pay the price for this American brand. High quality, high price.
Thanks for the great Vids bro..
Thats weird...although very cool it made rated power..i wouldnt expect anything less from audio control, but how can it pull almost 162 amps when its only fused at 160 amps?
Fuses can pass 2-3X their rated current for short bursts. Same with household breakers 👌
@@wal thnx for the reply man, i have a question..i know you tested the pioneer deh 80prs...a very very awesome headunit...but would you be able to test the amps that belong to that headunit? the prs-d800??
Not gonna lie I like this amplifier , nice looking small and I like the use of phillps screws over Allen keys to be honest .
I don’t mind Allen bolts as long as there aren’t 3 different sizes, but yeah Phillips are the best
Yeah super annoying when they do that .
Is this better than the kxa1600.1?
