For comparison, Megumin, one of the highest-level Mages after taking down several generals and other high-level enemies is around level 40 at the end of the series. The 'school' that they talk about earlier on, practices in power-levelling students to learn Advanced Magic to graduate. Komekko is at that level NOW.
Yeah. that school is handing out Skill Up potions like they are candy. All while teaching the kids to be chuuni as fuck

@@macvadda2318 Oh, she'd be super busted outside of that. It's a bit of a running joke in the series that Komekko has insanely high levels of talent when it comes to demon summoning.
Just as an example, it takes another summoner, a decently skilled one, several years and tons of valuable sacrifices to summon a demon of roughly-similar power to Vanir later on in the story. Komekko does the same in a few minutes, with her sacrifice being a single orange.

that ending still makes me tear up with Megumi realizing that Kazuma had put all the points into explosion magic - I'm a sucker for strong acts of friendship

@@TheRedOne11 i don't think you can put points in MP. Megumin mentions that she already has the largest amount of magical potential. I think Explosion just drains so much that you have to be some kind of supernatural being like a lich to be able to do more than one, and then even wiz didn't have enough left to cast teleport without draining some from Kazuma so even she could not cast 2 explosions on the same day
in the LN, kazuma made a point that if megumin used her points on explosion sooner, she couldve destroyed the mage killer outright, without the railgun.

Her lunch in this case was Chomosuke. For reasons that is revealed later in the series, or in the spin-off series.

Megumama is devious. She made him sleep in Megumin's room knowing that if he really was a pervert and made a move on her they could make him "take responsibility", marry him into the family and solve their constant money issues.
I'm pretty sure Megumins explosion is based off Magic Burst from Dragon Quest. It drains all your MP but smokes everything, so no matter how much she buffs it, she'll be useless after one shot. I mean it could change in the future, but it'd be lame to discard her gimmick imo.
No it drain her so much because it uses up all her mana, when wiz uses explosion she can still move because she has a lot of mana reserves, more so than megumin
I’m pretty sure there is a lot of games where there is a strong attack but takes all your health away or energy.
It's well known that most isekai stuff is based on Dragon Quest and other JRPGs (and other isekai)
I think her magic phrase at least is supposedly based off of Lina Inverse's phrase she says before her move in Slayers but I could be wrong

This is why I love KONOSUBA, there are scenes like 26:14 which make me laugh out of control and then you’re hit with 41:18 with unlimited hype and jaw-dropping sakuga and then to top it all off, there’s 44:23 which is the closest a comedy anime has come to make me cry 😭

As you guys said in the end, the reason why Aqua and Darkness have barely screentime on this film is that the film is dedicated to Megumin's people - the Crimson Demons. Don't worry because if ever they released another season of the series, the focus of the story will now go to Darkness. Won't say anything more than that but just for context, the movie adapted volume 5 of the novel. The first season does volume 1 and 2 while season 2 does volume 3 and 4. So pretty much every season is 2 volumes of the novel unless they add more episodes to it and not just 10 to 12 episodes per season. They are not rushing the series adaptation that's why the pacing is good too. And yeah, the one that animated the movie is different from the studio that did the series and maybe, they are the ones picking up this series after years of no announcement from Studio DEEN. The film was animated by J.C. Staff and I think they'll do it justice if they picked them up since JC starts getting back on track again after years of back to back failures and was now back to their old self which adapts good quality series starting from last year for their redemption. So yeah, that's it for me and I hope this comment will be helpful to you and everyone else.
And now we know the Power of Friendship is stronger than the Power of Love/Dream/Hope... which is literally the most anime route that they took lmao

Season 2 ended with novel 4, and this covered novel 5, so it is definately canon in every way. Season 3 is set to pick up right at one of my favourite parts of the story, so we have that to look forward to!

Every part of the Silvia fight after the railgun shot is not canon. In the LN the railgun is enough to kill them. In the LN Megumin also tells Kazuma that she likes him in their last night in the village where they actually shared her room voluntarily.

Let me amend my statement. It is canon in so far as it adopts a part of the story that is canon, and follows in chronologically right after we leave off in season 2.

the fight scene after sylvia gets shot by the railgun actually isn't in the LN, in the LN, she just died after getting shot by it and never revived. But they also didn't add some of the events that happened after the fight in the movie either for some reason, such as the third night with megumin and kazuma where megumin tried conffessing to kazuma
