We see a handful of top level strongmen use a hop back motion to get closer to the bar, while swinging the bag. My thought was that this saves them some time in shuffling back, but should only really be done by those with a lot of experience in knowing the perfect distance for them to the bar. Now I wonder if this is just bad form and not recommended or whether its a pro strat for the elites.

@Mitchell Hooper, I do not have access to sand bags or kegs and the like. I do have access to kettle bells. When I do kettle bell swings I do them as if throwing a sand bag. Before you came on the scene I have followed Thor & Brian Shaw's technique (same as yours, bring the bag as far as you can through the legs for more power \ momentum). 😎
