There's always going to be a bias. It's going to be based on your generation, with a spin from your parents. There's a reason the 70s were cool in the 90s. You want creative abjectly? Most recently it's got to be the 50s into the 60s. Rock music was invented almost simultaneously from blues with the advent of electric guitars like the Gibson Les Paul. Chuck Berry maybe if anyone could gets credit. This explosion accelerated as tube amps with vacuum tubes changed into germanium transistors. We got distortion and all manners of recording and music technology. kraftwerk did their first show in the 60s. Music can't move that fast ever again. Now creativity should abound with near free access no most to making an album. But it's also too clustered and I'm sick of type
Ok I'll finish. By the 70s rap starting happening as mentioned because you could get the equipment. If no equipment you could still beat box or rhyme. The styles being driven by equipment availability. Eddie Van Halen starts tapping. Usually a guitar need a pluck or strum to cause vibration to be heard. With pickups and amps that can be just taps. Any like an old keyboard where your finger powered the strike to a laptop the reduced effort allows for major speed. We saw national acts picking up Africa in the 80s. Lots of sampling. In the 90s it was cool to have a Jamaican yell. Seemly deflating novelty and creativity. Now we just recycling. Nu metal wasn't new. Run DMC came up with that. Almost embarrassing. Caitlin Elizabeth That's why I don't watch a lot of movies and specially sequels that tends to be more and more bad (looking at you Blade Runner) and I feel like they are just here to profit from the fame they ancestors had and sell some toys to kids. Ruining licences to make money seems to be they way Hollywood is taking. Plus these actors looking like they lost their soul and they are just here to fill a gap on the screen (and in the producer's bed)... There was maybe cold war and stuff like that in the 80s but at least they had good films and music...
This is one of the greatest jams of all time. These guys have their all during this recording session! Fucking epic as FUCK! I will always love Red Hot Chili Peppers!
I was 11 when I saw the Beatles at Olumpia Stadium in 1966. There's reference to my age. I've seen many, may of the greats even b4 they were great, like Bowie in 1972. THEY will stand the test of time. Thank you for making me feel so good.
I went to bed woke up and watched this at 5 am and then went back to sleep and had vivid dreams of Riv dancing having a good ol" time. So sad I had to wake up I didn't want to leave him. He was twirling around smiling his hair dark. Magical.
It's also about Carmen one of his girlfriend (read that in "Scar Tissue") and the fact that he didn't want to end like his father (about relationship with girls)
I listened to this the day that I thought my relationship was about to end, and the accuracy of some of the lyrics hit me so hard that I started weeping.
a few days after being dumped and see he's listened to this...but then is he even listening to it and relating it or just listening to a load of rhcp...goddamn things are so confusing
Thanks Wikipedia - "Breaking the Girl"'s bridge is marked by a percussion break that builds through the use of increasingly complex rhythms. The percussion instruments consisted of junkyard debris found by drummer Chad Smith, guitarist John Frusciante, and bassist Flea. Frusciante's main riff was inspired by Led Zeppelin's ballads, such as "The Battle of Evermore" and "Friends".[3] The song also makes use of a 12-string guitar and a Mellotron, using the flute patch. It is one of only two songs the group has recorded in the 6/8 time signature,[2] with the other being "Porcelain" on Californication.
Bullets N' Lace if you watch the documentary Funky monks, they show them making and recording this song and beating on junk and metal trash cans and such.
I think its River at 3:20 he's on the right side of the screen in a yellow shirt hugging Anthony and it's him with the shirt pulled over his head at 2:40 also at 3:25 jumping and 3:04 that crazy dancing reminds me of his dance in Sneakers. If you think about its probably all the ones with his face covered because he was always modest and humble,Probably didn't want to distract from the video.

Wow, the new Star Wars movie looks great!
lmfao!
Mia Rasmussen Better than épisode VII
Caitlin Elizabeth That's why I don't watch a lot of movies and specially sequels that tends to be more and more bad (looking at you Blade Runner) and I feel like they are just here to profit from the fame they ancestors had and sell some toys to kids. Ruining licences to make money seems to be they way Hollywood is taking. Plus these actors looking like they lost their soul and they are just here to fill a gap on the screen (and in the producer's bed)... There was maybe cold war and stuff like that in the 80s but at least they had good films and music...
Mia Rasmussen i'd like this but it has 420 likes on it and i dont wanna ruin that...
Leia doesn't look so hot though... but then that may be me.
Melhor música do red hot de todos os tempos não canso de escutar a mais de 20 anos
Sim. É excelente!!!
This is one of the greatest jams of all time. These guys have their all during this recording session! Fucking epic as FUCK! I will always love Red Hot Chili Peppers!
You think typing profanity in capital letters is going to make complete strangers love you back?
The outro is the best thing ever
The drums in this are great...very jazzy!!
I was 11 when I saw the Beatles at Olumpia Stadium in 1966. There's reference to my age. I've seen many, may of the greats even b4 they were great, like Bowie in 1972. RHCPs quality will stand the test of time. Their performance at Slane Castle is my favorite. This song I could listen to forever. Their live performances blow me away.

Magical.

This is my #1 favorite RHCP song
Same , this is my fav RHCP song … this is one of my favorite songs of all bands
Love the drums.
God, this song brings back memories. They dont make music like they did in the 90s anymore.
It's also about Carmen one of his girlfriend (read that in "Scar Tissue") and the fact that he didn't want to end like his father (about relationship with girls)
Masterpiece !
I left school in 1992 , the track reminds me so much of those years 1991 to 1992 , Love this album BSSM !! RHCP
Nossa faz tempo que eu estava procurando essa musica, e demais!
I listened to this the day that I thought my relationship was about to end, and the accuracy of some of the lyrics hit me so hard that I started weeping.
Down the same drain as you my friend...

Seems like we're not the only ones.

Uma das minhas músicas preferidas dos RHCP, estranho não ter sido tão divulgada nas rádios naquela época.
concordo dmais man
Foi sim, e muito. Acontece que essa música é de 1991, mas estourou nas rádios em 92 e 93.
2:12 what a great transition, musically and visually
Still such a beautiful song, one of my favorites by them...
One of the most underrated favorite songs! I’ve always loved how creative/weird they were. 🤩
I miss the old days, seeing this video on MTV as a teenager, man I miss the 90’s
Exactly 💯
Oh the memories I have attached to this song. Still hurts all these years later 😪
I hope they are mostly good memories Candice I have good ones 😊
Still loving this song!!💕💕🙏🏼🙏🏼 Flea's EPIC dance 👏👏💣💣
Maqical flute...touching musical outro... 3:45 ...in this time of incertitude it somehow lifts my spirits somewhat!
