I Painted my Garage with the BLACKEST PAINT in the World (Musou Black!)

- I have been wanting to try to use the Worlds BLACKEST paint for a project for years now, and I finally did it! I was very skeptical about using Musou Black for something this large being that the paint isn't something people regularly use. This was one of the most time consuming DIY projects I've done in a long time, but the end result was SO WORTH IT! Let me know what you guys think! Would you do this to your garage?

Leave a comment below and tell me what you think, and if you have any cool creative suggestions lemme hear them! Would you do this to your garage?
I think you’re handsome
Looks decent. I will never not spray a paint on anything unless there’s some crucial reason. You’d have wasted FAR less paint and, with a decent tape job, have killed the entire ceiling in a day. Why didn’t you spray?
Just as an FYI, Musou Black is officially the 2nd darkest black paint. If you don't believe me, go to DYC/Dip Your Car UA-cam channel, and they will show you the new Darkest Black.
Just a suggestion, maybe try using laser next time for your alignment. All in all, 💯 ❤.
Looks great. I think if you were to paint the walls two tone white up top and grey on the bottom it would tie in the color combo of the floor throughout the garage. Might look cleaner . Also as a painter it was hard to watch you paint that with a 4” roller 😂
It would be pretty cool for the inner of the honeycombs to be mirrors
Yeah and the floor was smoked mirrors
Something like that, or maybe put like small walls around the light bars so the light doesn't spill over onto the black ceiling, that way the black paint will be black even right next to the lights
@@DnDaan2712 @diiviinemedia I think what needs to happen is for the lights to be dropped down about an inch or two off the ceiling to get rid of that effect.
Watching the paint dry on the crawl space door as the time lapse started was so cool, because it slowly just disappeared into the black abyss
It looks very clean makes it look as if it were a shop or a showroom floor
Looks cool. I would have painted or primed the ceiling black or dark grey to help coverage.
A few things I would have done differently is to give it a base paint of some regular black and the only thing that kinda stops the illusion you want is that the hex lights have to wide light bleed, it they threw their light more straight down it wouldn't light up the roof as much. I'm sure it looks better irl, but for the on video look it might help. It also might help if the lights were spaced out further down from the roof...
I thought this was going to be a baaaaad idea at first, but I think it turned out really cool. I'd probably move to a roll up door and add more hex lights, but it is an excellent start!
Im thinking it would really soak up more light if it had a second coat because you can still see the light around the honey comb lights. Looks good tho
a black outlet cover would hit hard and honestly as annoying as it might be a 2nd coat of musou black might even out the ceiling on camera
You should build a cover for over the water heater. Like a white board or something. And maybe paint the circuit breaker white. But I think it turned out so cool. Stoked for you!
Was gonna say this as well build doors for the water heater and the central air, doesn’t need to be trimmed, do more like cabinet styled so it’s smooth against the wall. As well as do the breaker cover white.
Some kind of nice panel/cover for the hot water tank. The garage door hanging brackets would look cool painted too, would make it look like the rails aren't attached to anything lol.
99.4% ain't bad but when the blackest paint is at 99.98% or more it's crazy how much a slight percentage makes a massive difference
It's surprising seeing how much light is being reflected off the ceiling directly around and in the lights
You should actually put some of the paint on the little stretch of wires too.
he's gonna buy plastic covers for the wires & most likely paint them black
Black ceiling in my garage was the best decision. It makes it feel so much bigger than it actually is especially with 2 cars stuffed in
Don’t call it yourself a dumb*ss bro, you’re one of the smartest most creative people bro fr 🖤
Just past the intro, already know this is going to be fire 🔥
definitely cover up the hot water heater with a sliding door or something that can be removed easily
Stoked for you mike. Garage turned out sick and the nsx in there...welll ....🔥🔥🔥
Graffiti feature wall would be so cool in your garage!
Your garage theme is so close to mine, you are the first one ive seen with it. Black ceiling, white walls, black car. Congrats looks great
An accent mural on the wall like the graffiti on the side of colletes shop would look so sick! or like in tijuana flats kinda style to contrast the black would be dope too!
I’m happy for you bro genuinely. You literally work your ass off.
The black def gives me ideas on possible photography scenarios in the future
So sick, it’s like a black hole into space above your head 🙀🙀🙀
good stuff for getting it done. cant understand why you wouldnt get a big roller and put all the paint in the tray. would have got it all done in one day haha
I've never seen "Work harder, not smarter" before
Lol, I'm a painter, and I cringed the whole time he painted, I would have that done in an hour.
@@SteveO95 haha look forward to the second coat video :p
Black ceilings are the way to go. I have 0 regrets from painting mine
That is quite possibly the nicest car on the planet, especially parked under them lights 🏆
The Century and this ceiling are the only creative directions I’ve ever agreed with you on here. 😂😂
Your idea 💡 was awesome and turned out just as cool!
Man that was so worth it! Good job bro and love the NSX at the end
Love how it turned out! I kept trying to tell Adam to do it to his house with a starlit roof it would look insane !🔥🔥
Came out great. I think I wanna do the same to my garage now.
I wonder if you could use the darkest flat black paint from a box store and dump like 10 of those muso jars in to stretch them out and still hold the deep color
Probably could but also you can dump it in a base paint that had no pigment (basically white) and that would stretch it out abit too
That's tight! I'de build a box over the garage door opener and paint it the black to. Hoping you do it and show us the results!
Definitely keeping this idea! Greatly appreciate it
Style over everything! Killer!🖤🖤
The whole ceiling looks soft and velvety. Glad you chose musou. The black 3.0 might have not had that look.
Dude i love it, and the fact you have a nsx makes it even better. I want one so bad
Looks good, I have a feeling the way it was laid down is why there is some paint shine. Regardless, it does look good and I fully get the vision.
Duuuude!! This garage is sick now! 🔥 and cars looks amazing standing there. Awesome job man 👌
I was doubting the black roof, but man with hex light is looks sick. Awesome job with the garage update Mike! Just needs some OG spec tool box and shelving then it'll look perfect.
I'm into home theater...this looks verrry interesting.
That's how any ceiling is rolling it. In my opinion. Alot of work and pressure and it all streaks the harder pressed. Looks cool. I'd gone with rustoleum oil based and a gallon. What would have been blacker is to have used a regular black acrylic then that black over it. Like painting a car.
Sick idea with the black paint. Can’t wait to see what you do with the walls
looks so sick man good to see dreams come true
Damn dude this looks AMAZING! Came out great, nicely done!
Thank you dude!!
I’m hoping your garage plans include covers for the water heater and furnace openings in the wall. Would make the whole thing more clean.
I think the back wall (the one with the water heater) should be painted a light grey (almost the color of the water heater), i think it would really make everything pop. None the less it looks really good, congrats and keep up the hard work mike.
Great concept and execution! Looks incredible!!
I have a full black living room and the hall ceiling is black and I love it
Stroke lines are a technique thing. Using a tiny roller used usually for painting furniture to do a roof and only doing a small bottle at a time hinders being able to paint quickly. Painting slowly is the cause of streak lines; prolaping strokes of wet with already dry or drying paint causes this. Plus, even being the blackest paint ever, painting black onto white can cause issues too- though im assuming it was just a speed thing. Considering this took many many days and had breaks inbetween bottles and shit. Looks sick nonetheless, but with so much money into half quart bottles of paint I probably wouldve just sucked it up, paid for a larger roller than my dongs length and added a little water to make it less viscous allowing for more coverage.
Now you gotta paint the baseboards in the mouso black and maybe put a sealer or something to preserve it
putting in star lights would make it. would be so perfect
Suggestion: Get a wall mounted garage door motor. It would get rid of the ceiling mount one and look a bit cleaner!
The garage is looking mint!!
It would be neat to paint this on a wood sheet to shoot product photos/videos in front of it. Would make editing and masking even easier bc of how dark it is!
Good job!! Looks good!! Keep up the great content coming bro!!
Love the NSX and I think i will try the same garage setup other than the floor as my garage floor is all messed up so might do the tiles instead.
Dope looks so good. 4 would be even better!
Yes!! This is so fire !
Looks so sick! An idea would be to make it a star roof just like in the cars, although that would be a shit ton on work 😂 ❤
Btw in the EU you can get 1 liter bottles of the musou black for 290 euros
Looks real good Mike. I’m thinking of doing mine now. Lol
Look into vertical wall mount garage door motors. It’s something I wanna do when I get a garage of my own so that it will move the traditional door motor off of the ceiling to allow for more lighting.
A shaft/counter-spring drive garage door opener would clean up that ceiling BIGTIME.
Gives me a Forza Motorsport 4 white garage vibe. I love it!
Should do entry door in that color as well
This was fire 2 more hex lights at the back of your garage turned the other way would look awesome
Definitely paint the hangers make the tracks look like they're floating
Starlight ceiling would look cool, like Rolls has on their cars
Looks awesome.
Looks good Mike
Love the DIY projects, keep them coming!
Looks great.
Came out pretty cool. Im interested to see if it holds up and attracts dust. And i wonder if anything can be done to eliminate the hough around the lights, maybe painting the edges of the lights with the paint so its only the bottom.
Or as someone else said space the lights down, they look somewhat sturdy. A few painted brackets dropping them a foot could do it.
The only thing that stood out that I’d add to the garage is a little door or cover for that furnace or tank that you have in that little indent
i don't know why but i feel like star lights with the white lights off would be so epic with how dark the paint is it will literally look like the garage has no ceiling looking into the galaxy 🥵
First little square you painted was awesome. Looked like a hole in the roof lmao!
Good video Mike big love from the 🇬🇧
You need to do a wooden door or something to cover the boiler, would look even better.
Literally what I’d do to my garage. Looks so good 😭
I would definitely do another layer of paint
Full send paint the walls and get lights on them too 🔥
Painting the light wires to black !
This is sick!!!
i love it ... very elite style as always mike
I painted my bedroom ceiling black as well. The only downside is that mosquitoes and spiders are a bit harder to see.
Congrats on everything as of late 🤙🏽🖤, jus curious have we tested the blitz on they Ls & el Century 👀
Gotta do a starlight headliner but in your ceiling
A dark primer would've enhanced it even more, but job well done.
found a dead pixel for the first time when you looked at your "dark void" shot wow
Paint the walls and put honey comb plus mirror inside the honey comb or a line of light across the middle that reflects into the side of the car at mid level just about the fenders
Love it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If you want to hide cables get some cable rails and put the cables in it then paint it in Muso black
Looks incredible do you reckon you could black out the rest of the hardware on the ceiling too
Looks good. Surprised you didn't let upset garage do your garage mate.
You could have got a regular black color at a store and used that for the first 2 coats. Just a thought. No judgments here. Looks so 👍
You should use RIT Dye and dye the doilies and curtains black, or use bleach to get them bright white. In my opinion the tan color throws off the most perfect build ever. Black would go so hard tho lol
Looks dope asf 🔥🔥
You should paint the white cables in the black to hide them
I like the ceiling & the floor but I would have installed different lights. Obsessed Garage has a great selection of lighting. Get Matt's opinion while he's at the compound.
