    I find that the terrain makes or breaks the Tyrant Weed fight. If it's super uneven, you can have sprouts and healing pods spawning at different elevations, which can make it damn near impossible to kill. Getting an extra 1,000 credits / XP is not a very good reward, either. I think I'd enjoy it a lot more if you got something decent for it - like a loot crate it grew over or something.

    Important note about Slashers is that on hit, they prevent sprinting and halve movement speed for 1.5 seconds. In the heat of battle this can be very disruptive, and is probably the most common reason people get downed by basic swarms, other than bad movement. Definitely an enemy I’ve learned to watch out for on higher difficulties.

    100% with the bulk detonator. I have been way too much escorts where one appears while Doretta is already drilling the heartstone. In multiplayer, you might say this is slightly inconvenient, but still manageable as the player who has its aggro can simply lead it away from Doretta; but in singleplayer, this is a guaranteed loss if Doretta is on her last part (yes, for anyone asking, although the bulk deals a lot of damage on explosion, only 1 part of the drill can be broken at a time, very thankful for the devs for this).
    It's like the bloody bulk knows when it's the worst possible moments to appear.

    I think something you missed with the septic spreader is that its low velocity shots can actually be an advantage to it; it knows how to arc its shots over terrain, so often it'll shoot you while completely behind terrain, even at extremely tight angles for the projectile. Especially when there's multiple doing that, they can be extremely oppressive, destroying your health and movement while being not even visible. In the middle of fighting bugs if they're doing that you often won't be able to tell where they're even shooting from the first few shots, much less get over there to actually kill them, and on salvage in particular all of this is only compounded

    fun note wardens only have 2 moves. a call that summons glyphids and buffing said glyphids.

    I’ve found the LOK-1 to be a godsend against the shockers and other swarms of small enemies, as I can take out a ton of them before most get close to me.
    On the other hand, The LOK-1 makes Hiveguards twice as hard to kill. It’s incredibly difficult to use the locking function to your advantage on them unless it’s already vulnerable and focused away from you.

    The fact that you didn't mention the single most important factor when fighting slashers is their slowdown effect is a crime. Its the ability that kills you the most when a slasher sneaks up on you and get a single hit in, because you cannot run from the horde or dodge projectiles for a short period.
    I expect a little bit more depth from a tier list of this length.

    Surprised that the Horror didn't show up, aka the Ghost Bulk, yeah it's unkillable, but the fact that it's an unkillable bulk that will persist the whole mission definitely makes it a high pain to deal with, I wouldn't say it's an Oh God No enemy since you would have to consent to go into a mission with it so you know what you are getting yourself into and it doesn't have that death explosion for obvious reasons.

    • @Blaze00XD
      @Blaze00XD 8 місяців тому

      Also if you are scout and grapple on top of the caretaker you become safe from the Tesla coils and repulsion barrier attack and it puts you in an easier position to just smack the open vents with your pickaxe (using the power attack regularly is useful and effective but may be a little bit tricky to hit especially if you aren’t moving with the caretaker as it’s spinning)
      BUT in doing so you still leave yourself vulnerable to shredder spawns, the caretaker appendages and patrol bots, (and probably the space mines, I wouldn’t know I didn’t have to deal with those when implementing the strategy) you are unable to attack the caretaker’s eye without falling off and will have to retreat to the nearest supply drop or red sugar if you are low on health, as far as I know it’s not possible to place supply drops anywhere near the caretaker (including on top of it)
      WARNING: IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH A SUPPLY DROP IN TIME AND ARE DOWNED WHILE IMPLEMENTING THIS STRATEGY AND YOU DONT HAVE ANOTHER SCOUT (or possibly Gunnar) ON THE TEAM YOU WILL BE STAYING UP ON TOP OF THE CARETAKER FOR UNTIL IT’S DEFEATED.
      To avoid this make sure to pay close attention to your health regularly, or if you are running the iron will perk use it to quickly run toward your teammates so they can revive you, you can heal and then if you wish to do so: you may continue the strategy again (and hopefully not dying this time)
      Side note: while this strategy may involve a lot of risk it is super helpful for the team as just shooting the vents as you’re expected to do is super tedious and slow.
      Feel free to experiment with this strategy and try to find more ways to improve it and make it better if you feel like doing so.
      Scout is most effective for the strategy in my opinion because he is able to grapple away and back faster than Gunnar having to ride his zip line in order to get back up there if he ends up falling or if he had to retreat and heal, but of course if the Gunnar can make it up there so can rest the team which solves the problem with being downed stuck on top of the caretaker.

    The twins are by far my least favorite dreadnought, because it's just such a pain trying to damage them equally, especially solo. First off, the healing phase doesn't just equalize their health, it slightly reduces the health of one while adding a lot more than was removed to the other, and they regen their armor as well. What really gets me is that the lacerator is always in your face while the arbalest is always up a wall or hell, sometimes not even in the same cave, so it's super annoying trying to wait for it to show up to damage it while the lacerator is right there. It's also quite annoying how the turrets and bosco will often make them go into the healing phase, making the fight even harder solo

    • @anotherfriendlyshikikan6960
      @anotherfriendlyshikikan6960 7 місяців тому +3

      The twins are the easiest because their invulnerability phase is short and they don’t attack you. The Dreadnought invulnerability phase is also short but it also has its armor, and hiveguard is the most difficult boss. HG summons its own unique enemy and has three different armor health bars.
      The twins get their hp back but i’ve seen that it is mostly balanced. Lacerator draws health from Arbalest and their health is almost equivalent to each other. The reason you might believe the healing is the way it is, is because you’re doing too much damage to one. When the healing starts, you get one to heal for a lot while the other is getting a paper cut.

    • @bluedistortions
      @bluedistortions 6 місяців тому +1

      They only heal three times, too, so even if you don't worry about balancing, you will get them. Best just to run when you see it's time to deal with the one not there, run around for 15-30 seconds and then look around, and you'll probably find the right one.

    • @heretichazel
      @heretichazel 6 місяців тому

      @@bluedistortions interesting, I'll have to test it myself and add that to the wiki if it's true. I could definitely see it being that I've just always killed them by the third time anyway

  • @WingsAboveCS
    @WingsAboveCS 8 місяців тому +7

    20:30 the twin dreadnoughts are balanced, and fun to fight even, the problem is DRG players, they just do not watch the health bar, and don't switch targets when they need to.
    You could do everything perfectly, switching between the twins, keeping their health balanced, but if the gunner ate glue for breakfast that morning all your hard work will just be undone.
    It is one of the few things in this game that can actually make me mad at teammates :(

    there is something i noticed about acid and web spitters, they can't fire projectiles instatly after spawn, they need some time to charge shots, that's why web spitters seems to so often walk around and do nothing. problem with acid spitter however is fact it's literally a sniper, it lives to sit somewhere far in dark corner.
    also about stingtails, from my experience they are above entire tier list, basically because of bugs, i have been send outside of map several times, or one was camping on ceiling and kept pulling me and killing when fall damage. devs say they fixed issues but they didn't, its just rarer, but still exists. its for me highest priority enemy right next to trijaws

  • @user-ud5zj5jg4m
    @user-ud5zj5jg4m 8 місяців тому +4

    I would personally put both detonators a lot lower. They are giant slow and easy to spot and also follow one specific player. So even if a detonator spawns during the salvage ops uplink or on escort duty a single attentive scout can almost stop it in its tracks with a couple of taser bolts that with time will burn through a giant chunk of its hp.
    Also the dwarf a detonator is following can always lure it away.
    And the crassus one should imo be put into balanced because it only spawns once at the beginning of the mission thus has almost no chance to damage doretta or wipe a team during the black box defence.

    For the warden, it groups glyphids near it so its an ideal pheremone target. Things automatically try to stay in range of it so you get a large mob tied down killing eachother. As a scout theyre irrelivant, as a gunner theyre easy, because blowthrough still wants things grouped. It just makes the game easier in general

Weapons that excel in this include but are not limited to: EPC with TCF, Any armscore build with the fear trajectory mod, any hitscan weapon, and engineer’s primary weapons. Hitscan weapons have no falloff and are only limited by accuracy spread.

I didn't even know or see what got me, and had never encountered a Mactera before then.

    The rockpox exploders are definitely the most annoying to me. Normal exploders are fast but hi-vis and squishy, so if you spot them early you can usually take them out before they get close, but the rockpox variants throw all of that out the window. Not only do they blend in with other rockpox enemies, but I don’t have the god gamer aim reflexes to pop the weakpoints on something moving that fast. At this point I just let them start their explosion and move away rather than waste ammo trying to stop them.

    So I finally have time to come around to this video again(thanks college) but I would say these opinions are pretty different from mine.
    I think the biggest difference in opinions is about the dreadnought twins because I think the health trade is beneficial for the player because it gives you time to reload, restock, catch your breath, revive, etc during it. It's one of the big reasons why I think its the easiest dreadnought fight. singleplayer, it's definitely a lot rougher but I don't think the health trade is as annoying as you claim it to be. I never plan around it because the health gain from it which there some health gain from it is so minimal, that you would have to be down bad on ammo in a elimination mission. I could only see this problem arising in a DDs. the fight also just doesn't last much longer with it and I prefer them doing the health trade than dealing with the enraged status that they go into when one of them dies cause everything just explodes when they do.
    I gotta disagree with the septic spreader hard too. The fact that these things can lob their shots over cliffs and hills so you don't have direct line of sight on them to shoot is so frustrating and if your not a scout, you just gotta take it. Combine it with an uplink or if just stuck in a hole and these things become nightmares. acid spitters at least you can see them when they shoot at you. septic spreaders have to be actively hunted down.
    My last main big disagree is korlok. I don't think its "OH GOD NO" bad but it's definitely annoying. It's just so easily dealt with when you realize that 20% melee damage weakness and how pathetically easy it is to bum rush it. The sprouts take a while to actually come out and shoot at you and you can easily kill them all and then melee the weed for a ton of damage. It's even easier if you have a driller who can set all the sprouts ablaze and axe the main weed for so much damage. It can also help digging a trench right by the main weed and jumping in it to take cover from all the sprouts. With a team, its pretty easy and can be done in less than a minute, on solo as driller, I've done this fight in like 3 minutes I would say. Is it annoying? Yes. But I don't think it should ever realistically kill your mission ever unlike the cave leech and bulk or at least, be the main cause of failing a mission.
    Overall, I'd say I agree with like half of this which is just goes to show how different we view this game or maybe just the enemies.

    As a hyperactive scout main who always looks around for stuff to shoot and tries to constantly be aware of their surroundings I practically never get to the point where I have to run for my life to not get blown up by an exploder.
    To me they belong in the "Irrelevant" tier but I have to save my oblivious friends from them surprisingly often (even when I'm not on scout)

    • @countsudoku6305

    Now I don't mean to be nitpicky, but I find it kind of weird that you counted all praetorian variants just as 1 bug.
    Because to me at least both Radiation and Frost praetorians are both way more dangerous than the normal.
    The Radiation one hits on a 360 field around it making really damn frustrating to get at its backside with a shotgun, and the Frost pretorian will quickly punish anyone who hasn't cleared out their frost accumulation.
    So while I agree that the normal variant is balanced, I would put both its sub types into low annoyance.

    Honestly for me lacerator and arbalest are super annoying due to them constantly burrowing and there being two of them. I actually like going against hiveguard more than the standard dreadnaught because it’s really fun to take down his minions and hit his 3 weak points as it feels more like a bossfight than the standard dreadnaught.

  • @LordRazer3
    @LordRazer3 8 місяців тому

    The twins don't quite equalize there health. There is a percentage GAIN when they do this.
    Say if you ignore 1 but manage to take out 80% of the other's health. When they pair up the first will lose 15% while the other will regen back up to 85% of its max health so in the end about 2/3 off all damage was negated.
    So in the end you really want to damage them evenly so the main thing that the twins get back is armor and not so much as health.
    Just imagine...the twins use to get back almost ALL of there health back 2 years ago!

    i absolutely DESPISE the stingtails. although they have a noise, i cant really hear it when i'm on a hazard 5 in a swarm and then i just get roped right into the middle of the swarm. also, the septic spreader is also in my top 3 most annoying bugs. they can just snipe you from god knows where and the glob that it shoots just stays on the ground and hurts anybody who walks on it. the septic spreader also likes to hide in places and shoot over cover, which makes it even more annoying. my 2nd top most annoying but though has got to be the fucking shocker. god damn do i hate those things.

  • @SZRLM
    @SZRLM 8 місяців тому

    Yeah I think I'd swap the Hiveguard and the Twins. The twins are hard to keep neck and neck, especially as the arbalest always seems to hide in my experience. The Hiveguard armor and minions are very susceptible to aoe damage like the grenade launcher, making it a pretty easy fight.
    The Naedocyte Shockers and Cave Leech are a league of their own. The Leech everyone knows, but the Shockers, the worst thing is that when they shock you, it basically takes up your whole screen. For me, taking control of my screen or blocking my view, in any videogame, is the worst thing you can do.

  • @hazelbot6399
    @hazelbot6399 6 місяців тому

    Stingtails despite being nerfed are honestly even more annoying now because I have seen more then double the amount of them especially in Multiplayer. I seen 15+ of them in one mission and after that mission everytime I hear one a small part of me starts crying inside. They're not too bad on Driller since the drills can stun lock them once they pull you but this does nothing to change the fact they are horrifically common from my experience.
    Septic Spreaders are just pure oppression because they love sitting in spots you can't even see them and somehow still have pin point accuracy. Even if you see them they just start back peddling and taking shots at you. Personally also found they are way more common in the Hollow Bough which makes an already oppressive biome that much worse, it's actual hell.

      It’s probably the fact that spitters often don’t spawn alone even as a solo player and they are surprisingly dim compared to their weaker webby cousins. They only need a couple shots to land to really cripple a dwarf

    • @countsudoku6305
      @countsudoku6305 8 місяців тому

    • @BleakNote
      @BleakNote 8 місяців тому

      @@countsudoku6305 fair, yeah. I see your point. Well at the very least they should be next to each other on the tier list. One can pepper you with low damage projectiles and announces when it surfaces but has a high health pool and the other is quiet and deadly but can be 2 tapped by most weapons. They seem equally dangerous.
      But I can also spot fossils in Azure Weald in the dark at this point so spotting a spitter is second nature for me. It's when I'm reviving and one decides to snipe me that they're really a threat. The menace only gets dangerous in a horde, by itself it's laughably weak. So I guess they're both sorta threatening but not after you've dealt with them enough

  • @yumyumeatemup
    @yumyumeatemup 8 місяців тому

    Only issue i have with this list is it doesnt take into account the Class you are playing as or the difficulty. Specific classes have access to different builds that cant be matched by their peers in other classes that make some of the enemies on this list go from a pain or annoyance, to easy or irrelevant honestly. Also difficulty shifts the tiers on a lot of these enemies quite radically imo. Trijaws specifically will just down you on Haz 5 and above and they NEVER travel alone on that difficulty. Ive had entire team wipes as a result of this happen on elite deep dives that were going just great and suddenly trijaw spawn = wipe.
