When my son was ten, he saw a car stop on the road near our apartment and watched them toss out a chow mix puppy. As soon as they car pulled off, he ran up to the road and rescued the puppy. The vet placed his age at about three months. We named him Dribbles because as a puppy, his nose was still short enough that his face fur got wet every time he got a drink. Of course that meant he dripped water on the floor after every drink for almost a year. Dribbles was an amazing companion. He was 16 when the time came to say good- bye. He’d been diagnosed with oral cancer. The veterinary oncologist gave him four months. He gave me another year and a half. I said good-bye in 2003. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of him. He made an enormous impact on my life, and I still miss him very much. Bravo to you good sir for what you are giving these beautiful, loving animals.
Reading stories like this makes me want to hurt people, but I have to remind myself that it was destiny for that dog to be in your family and the people who threw him out were mere vehicles for getting him to you in the grand plan... that's how I calm myself down lol.
My dear friend friend has 5 rescues from a kill shelter...they all actually adore me...but one..he was the biggest trouble maker..and he literally goes nuts everytime I stop by...touches my heart
I had a St. Bernard rescue, Axel growing up, and from that I have now had 3 Chow Chow dogs as an adult. I totally understand everything you are saying about Ceces aura and personality. They are One of a Kind.
Love CeCe. Have been a Chow mom for 30+ years. Choose are very Confident, Regal, and Independent. LOVE the personality. They are like Live Teddy Bears for adults.
Lee, you are to me a reincarnation of San Francis from Assisi!!!!! An Animal wisperer. Pure love and at the same time the leader of the pack. Sharing the status with CeCe of course. Grins. And a great teacher for all of us just because you are who you are... Thank you!!!
Only a pure soul can achieve the love of a Chow Chow. You, and she are both very lucky. And don't feel bad about the initial trepidation. The bad rep created by ignorance of others can sometimes get into your head. I've raised Chow Chows for 30+ years, and I was still scared when we adopted our first one just a year ago. But, our beautiful blue boy, Asher, is the love of our lives and is the perfect sibling to his brother, Titan. And there are many Chow Chow rescues out there when you want another one. Houston Chow Chow Connection is where we got our sweet boy. 🥰
Oh my goodness, my grandparents had two chows, one was golden and not friendly to children so we kept our distance, but the other chow was black, named Cinder Sue and she loved kids or maybe just me. I was aged from 3 or so until I was too old to need a nap but whenever I was at my grandparents at nap time, I slept on top of Cinder. I woke up with long black dog hair in my mouth and all over me. It didn't matter, I loved that dog and she loved me even though I was a little kid who wrapped my hands into her long hair. She lay so still while I slept on her. They can be the sweetest.
CeCe and all the dogs whose lives Lee has saved and made a million times better are a testament to his beautiful soul and unshakable dedication to the creatures in his care. Bless you, Lee Asher! 🙏❤️
Love chows!!! Females are territorial over their owner. Males are territorial over their property. I've had both and this is so true. My boy used to sit down on the marina in front of our townhouse and guard all the boats, when the owners tried to come onto their own boat he would growl and protect the boat. He thought they all were his! My female would surround me at the beach - she would make a circle around me and dare anyone try encroach on it!
Miss my Chow-X, Wylie. We were his 5th and final home. He loved us from day one, even though people failed him. It took me two years to make him a good dog that could be trusted with my small grandchildren. One of my greatest accomplishments.
How very very true! My grandfather had a Chow and he was definitely my granddad's dog. He tolerated the rest of the family but he really only loved my granddad.
Dogs can definitely tell who loves them and who is safe to love back. She loves you because she knows you are there angel and you will protect them and love them
Lee, you are the absolute salt of the earth. So genuine, easygoing, compassionate and hilarious! Cece was meant to be! All I could see was Pom Poms the mini lion on your lap watching this 🥰
Loved Cece’s memorial video….and lessons learned from companion animals who come in and out of our lives, but also our human ‘companions’. What gifts they are are. Important reminder to appreciate them each and everyone, as you so effectively shared, Lee. Thank you for these ‘gentle’ reminders. What a service you provide.
She's a Chow Chow mix so of course what you describe is totally their personality. They pick you. They are one of the smartest and most stubborn breeds. Every Chow I've ever had was a total angel and fierce protector. Like Pit Bulls so many folks are scared of them and they've had such reputations as a dangerous breed. Inevitably they're the pack leader which is awesome because they are so smart and so protective of the pack.
I had a Chow when my kids were growing up, the greatest pal for our children she was so loving and caring and protectf of the children and never let me out of her sight. Got along with our cats even nursed our kittens. WONDERFUL FAMILY DOG.
Cece my beautiful Lioness puppy, she is so beautiful, she is so serious, she knows to decide, that her decission is completely correct to give her trust to go directly to this Dad dog that she will happy here forever and change her life for good.
What a presence hey. I know this almost unreal selfrespect, as if there's nothing else. Sweetness equals cool strength. The ideal 50/50 "You good, me good." 💯
I was blessed to have a part Chow come into my life in 1993. He as almost a year old but full grown. I had never had a large dog before. my previous dog was a small dachshund. We had 14 years together and he was one of the best dogs I’ve ever had, so loving and protective! His name was Beethoven, as he had been named by the children of a friend of my father’s that could not keep him because they were moving to an apartment. I miss my Beethoven so much!
I had Lab/Chow rescue that was rescue when my girls young. He w/ me through so many chgs. I had no idea how much I’d miss mister independent!! When I moved from sm town to city he was my protector.. Cabella 😢❤
First Cece challenged you, then she opened up. Beautiful relationship. Maybe the word you were looking for is RESONANCE. You resonate with your darling doggies.
A couple of weeks ago I said goodbye to the best boy as I call him. He was a 14-year-old Chow and he was definitely my heart dog. Chows capture your heart like no other animal can. Mojo was the typical aloof, independent, stubborn, willful Chow but he was never more than a foot or two away. Whenever I came into the room he did his happy hops even after the arthritis in his front leg made walks so painful for him he would stumble. I would say his name and his tail would wag. Of all of the pets that I have had he carried my heart with him. Love him and miss him. I have wanted a Chow since I saw one as a little kid. I, like Lee, have always had a fascination with bears so when I saw one in the park on a leash I practically tackled it with a hug. Luckily, this Chow was very well-socialized and kid-friendly. Apologies were made as I played more gently with dog I thought was a bear. I was hooked since.
CiCi, being a beautiful Chow Chow responded to you in the normal Chow way. They are totally devoted to one person, one home. Then, having identified who their human is, they’ll guard you to the end. I raised them years ago and of course they are a favorite breed. Simply the best! She’ll stay loyal or you make r new owner for life!
I had a girl, Genevieve, who was exactly as you described CeeCee… she was so independent, and needed to run and be free, forever riding head out the window… but she absolutely loved me with every fiber of her being… losing her nearly broke me… it’s been about a year and a half, and I miss her every single day…
On this day, May 22 2021, My chow chow mix Ella transitioned in my arms at 10 pm. Today the 28th..this morning I took her to get cremated. She was the most Regal, Stoic, Gentle, Gorgeous Entity... simply Amazing! No..Ella was not in the freezer... she was laying peacefully and Beautifully surrounded by flowers, incense, prayers and love. I LOVE YOU INTO ETERNITY my Baby GIRL!
I understand about how a dog chooses you. I saw a picture of a Silky that needed a new home. I wanted him. When he arrived at my house I saw him and he saw me and it was instantaneous. Next thing he’s in my arms. He jumped into my arms. I got him to be a pal to my four year old Westie who was slowing down. He was two. He’d chewed two remotes in his other home. He got hold of mine but dropped it as soon as I said to. He was mine!🐾🐾🐾🏴
Just had to have my chow-akita mix put down. Looked just like cece. Everyone loved the lion with the black tongue. We spent half of our walks getting stopped by people asking about her. The most loyal, protective yet stubborn dog. Ty for all you do... it's inspiring.
It's almost like she was saying "I'm not going to let you take me home with you if you just want to "own" a new dog. We need to have a Jerry Maguire moment or it's a no-go, Guy" lol
Proud Chow Momma here. I loved my girls. They’re both gone now; Bear died in 2011 and Daisy in 2018. They were the best girls ever. I will never own another breed.
In my heart, CeCe is mine. I love her. It's now Feb 2023. CeCe looks different then when you first got her, her coat has changed. I just adore her. Of all the dogs, CeCe is always the one I look for. I just saw here in a short and I had to come and see her.
CeCe, along side my dogs, is the cutest & most irresistible dog I've ever seen in my life!!! Her lioness hairline, especially around her eyes (her bangs), is completely & utterly gorgeous!!!
I absolutely love love love you Lee Asher, you are a true gift to humanity and the animal kingdom, you are such an inspiration to me and many viewers! Thank you and God Bless you !
My son rescued a ChowChow in the 1980’s. A black one. They are a family dog, very protective. This was a dog we had not met before, but Edward had. The story is: I came home, found a leash and collar on the kitchen table. Okay, that means there is a dog in the backyard. Duh, not knowing anything about Chows, but just happy to see a dog, out I go. Dog people know the reaction of the dog to a stranger. They also know my action to any dog. Put the two together and you get trouble. Nope. When we heard how she came to be with us, we got to thinking about how she did not attack. She must have had enough time to get my scent, then recognized it as she was barreling at me, then pulled up. She had heart worms that got treated with arsenic. That could have killed her, as well as the worms, She lived. Such a beautiful dog. Very protective of the six of us and our cat.
I had a chow lab mix. Smartest dog I have ever seen. She claimed me as her owner, but she was my daughter’s rescue first. She liked old people. She would make me sit down and throw the ball to her, that she would bounce it right back to my lap with her nose. If she even thought you were a threat to me, she would stand between me and the stranger, her hair would stand on edge. If I saw this, which I never took my eyes if her, I would tell her, it’s ok Mia, then she would back down. I had a German Shepard, boxer and rottie mix, but she stole my heart. When she died it took me months to stop grieving for her. You are so great with those babies, you can’t possibly be lonely with all that love that they shower you with. God bless you.
You’ve saved me during the lockdown. I cry, I celebrate, I count on you and your pups to get me out of bed in the morning. Bless you and your work. ❤️🐶❤️ Thank you.
To finally find the dog you fell in love with in your youth, is amazing!! It was ment to be, you found her and she found the one person she always needed. What a fitting name I m sure your "little lion" was directing you where to find her, and how she fits into your beautiful pack, what a lucky girl what a lucky poppa bear!!❤❤❤
Such a beautiful story about Cece! She is absolutely gorgeous! And yes, she looks like the most beautiful lion there ever was! Love hearing about how you found her! 💞💞💞💞💞
Rescue dogs, shelter dogs, I love them all. They always reward you so much more than you can ever repay. It doesn’t matter what breed, although unfortunately you can get just about any breed in a shelter or rescue now days. This has become a country that refuses to protect dogs. It’s very sad.
It’s absolutely not ‘a country that refuses to protect dogs’. Americans basically worship dogs and spend over $70 million on their pets a year, more than some entire countries make. America has applied pressure to Asian countries to end their slaughter of dogs for the dog meat trade that the world was either ignorant to or didn’t care about (a country that doesn’t protect dogs? Have you seen what China does to dogs? It’s beyond inhumane, it’s disturbing and evil-we never have done shit like that here in the US because we do indeed protect and cherish dogs. But, there are countless animals without a home because there are just so many of them. We have no kill shelters everywhere to help. Look at countries who actually refuse to to protect dogs, their streets and coastlines are littered with sick starving dogs and would-be pets that they’re citizens kick away or ignore. Then when they do save one, their living conditions are absolute squalor compared to what we have here in America.
@@lollipopsfordays3610 Considering that America is a first world country you are an absolute shame. 4 MILLION pets get euthanised every year. That is out of this world. Your are right up there with the worst countries. The shelters are a death row nightmare. Your puppymills are a nightmare. The US is up there with Romania. Just because they aren´t wandering the streets doesn´t mean that animals are treated well. Most kill shelters give them three days. The dog catchers really are henchmen. Why do you not know this. It´s in all the cartoons and disney movies. Just google it. AMERIKA REFUSES TO PROTECT DOGS. You are not animal lovers you are sanktimonious hypocrytical lyers. And don´t even get me started on the amount of homeless children you have. A completely sick country.
This dog knew right away she belonged with you and your pack. She was waiting for you! For me it was more I'm coming to you and no way your leaving without me. And because of that energy and her beautiful soul, she's my favorite ❤
I loved hearing your cute story about Baby Lee loving animals. When I was a teenager, I was so upset because I wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter, and our rural town didn't even have one back then. Animal nerds unite! 🤓
Ahhh Pom poms just loves you so much. I have 7 dogs and recently moved as the neighbour complained as I’m always out playing and talking to them so they get excited and talk , so i received a letter to move or get rid of my babies. No brainer but also to move is expensive. But I stood my ground and believed there will be a way. I found a farm and moved and we had puppies!!! Yay.. this is my family
The most elevated creature I ever met was my chow mix. Beautiful, wise, loving, protective, and ruled all without ego or bad behavior. He was the king of all he saw, but a loving protectuve one. Smarter than humans. Never have seen his equal, human or animal, for nobility.
She love you when she first saw you. She felt safe with you. Once you took her out of the animals shelter she was happy. Now she can show you her love and trust you. I love bear too. I love Chow Chow also. I had a Chow Chow myself. They r very smart and highly intelligent. Also they r very protective of their daddy r mother. You and my husband that passed is so much alike in every way. Loved taking care of all animals and showing real love to all of them. This is why I love you and your videos
I’m so grateful to you! The sad part about all of this , is when they come to your home they can never be homed anywhere better & I cannot see them leaving your beautiful sanctuary and ever being being completely happy bc they all have their best lives with you! It’s just the TRUTH! You give them ALL THE MOST AMAZING LIVES! FREEDOM & AN ABUNDANCE AMOUNT OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE THEYVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!
God please help CeCe the bear recover from this awful illness. She’s needs her family. She’s has the sense of duty protecting her family and kingdom. There will be another time when she tells you ok. But let her have this time. Thank you God❤
I love all the breeds, and i know my next dog i'll ask for the dog that has been there the longest, or just old and near death; No one, dog included should be alone in its last days. Give them a home and some love.
Oddly enough, just from watching the clip, it felt like she was coming home to you not exercising any type of authority over the space. That was just my impression as a viewer. It felt like a kid interrupted from play, "oh, Dad's here to pick me up, I gotta go."
The clips were mere seconds, but I saw Cecelia taking steps forward and back and barking. It seemed to go with his description. My understanding is that that's standard behavior for a Chow. It was so cute and funny how she was right behind him in the car, just like she belonged. Like you said, it was like Dad just picked her up lol
Right. like oh right hey let’s get outta here. You cool with that right. Then she maybe second guessed like was I being too forward better catch up dude cause we going.
I miss our chow Oso. He was extremely protective, especially over us children. No one could come into our yard, even if he knew them, without one of us letting them in. He would stand guard at the gate and not allow them to pass. He was such a wonderful dog.
Lee, if you ever come across a Keeshound, or Keeshonden, please save him or her. I was so fortunate to have found Noah (female) at a shelter two days before she was to be euthanized (over 20 years ago). She was the most intuitive dog I have ever known, and I have had many others whom I've also loved dearly, and still do. I could not believe how she could sense things, and her soul was a shining light. I have never stopped missing her, and still mourn her loss. She made such an embellishment in my life, and carved a deep home in my heart forever.❤❤❤
I have to admit. I have seen this before but. I just have to say. I love love love you so much. I am sure your mom is so proud of you. You are 100 percent beautifully genuine and I would think that you are a rare servant. What I mean by that is you might have noticed that more and more people are being aware of our animals coming in to themselves. I truly believe you are a giant in the world of protecting our precious dogs and having people believe what is here on earth to give us happiness and love. You are perfect in every way even your excitement is what our dogs love. They live in the moment. You live in the moment. You are the perfect dog protector. Teach this to our next generation it is important to understand what our precious dogs are worth. Because they are priceless.
It is all about the match,I now only rescue pitbulls because they have such a hard time getting a home.I have adopted the last three dogs( I always have three from seeing their picure). I am the same way,I know what I know, trust it and am always thinking about having a balanced pack,EVERY DOG I have adopted has been a diamond in the rough.
Bless you Susan, keep up all our doing for this very misunderstood breed. I was in bully adoption/rescue for 20+ years, until I couldnt do it. Lots of highs, few lows but, always much unconditional love from furrbabies rescued even in the worst conditions. Was so always worth the hard work, emotionally challenged days for sure! Much love & appreciation to you, blessings always to you & angel furrbabies.🤗🙏❤🐾
@@lesare6509 Yah unless you have rescued a bully you can't really understand how deep the love and soul of these dogs are. My new girl is getting settled in and getting along well with her two sisters....kinda like Golden Girls! Mabel Rose,Gracie Mae,Pearrly Anna and Me!
If you love pitties you should check out "Zeusy the Pitties" and "Percy the Pitties". They were adopted by a father and son. Zeusy is a real talker; Percy (Per-Per) is younger and more lay back.
Lee can't take all of them but he takes a lot. Two more of those dogs also went home with Lee. Little Copper, the doxie mix, and Charles, the big black beagle-looking one.
Pause????😳...Part Deux???? Know it's a great story tho...I love just watching dogs too...(as my sons big ole 90 pounder looks lovingly at me while I'm watching the grandkids!!) You are an EARTH ANGEL in Gods Country
Lee, I love how you relate to your dogs. Your love and respect for them, and your connection to their souls is moving. I know I'm gonna end up a vegetarian for sure. LOL
I'm a mama bear to my block of flats - I recognise that energy in Cecilia - she was being the mama bear. What an asset to the pack! And oh she is so beautiful and loving!
I can’t tell you how hopeful you make the world. Thank you.
I’ve had dogs choose me. So, I know exactly what you are talking about. I admire you.

Cecilia is like half lion and half bear but not a dog🥰🥰🥰he is just too cute.
Cece was just being a typical Chow Chow. She did choose you, you're hers forever now not the other way around. ❤️
And the whole time, there's a tiny, fluffy little teddy bear sitting happily on his lap.

I had a girl, Genevieve, who was exactly as you described CeeCee… she was so independent, and needed to run and be free, forever riding head out the window… but she absolutely loved me with every fiber of her being… losing her nearly broke me… it’s been about a year and a half, and I miss her every single day…
Please keep going&I feel your pain&struggling so sorry for your great loss🙏💔💔💔💔
She is such a special dog, with her blue Chow- Chow tongue. ❤️🐾
& she looks like a 🦁
On this day, May 22 2021, My chow chow mix Ella transitioned in my arms at 10 pm.
So sorry for your loss. ❤🌈
"A Chow Bear?" how cute of little Lee to say that :)
I love all the dogs so much, but I could watch hours of CI CI & POM POMS!!!
Dog people know the
reaction of the dog to a stranger.
Love CeCe she is beautiful 😍
CeCe was like, "Okay. This is my car too." "These are my dogs too." The greatest partnership! ❤🥰
You’ve saved me during the lockdown. I cry, I celebrate, I count on you and your pups to get me out of bed in the morning. Bless you and your work. ❤️🐶❤️ Thank you.
She picked you to be the one she trusted.
Thank you for for all you do and did.
Yes she has a very regal demeanor. The hair helps! ❤️ She's one of my favorites. Also Lucy and Butters.
@@lollipopsfordays3610 Animal protection laws in America are completely inadequate.
I'm happy we are sharing the same name! My name is Cecilia, but my family calls me Ceci. I'm sending all my love.
Omg me too except my friends back in France used to call me Ceci not my family:)
Ok Camilla
In memory of CEce ❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🌈🌈 I remember when you first got her !
The most elevated creature I ever met was my chow mix. Beautiful, wise, loving, protective, and ruled all without ego or bad behavior. He was the king of all he saw, but a loving protectuve one. Smarter than humans. Never have seen his equal, human or animal, for nobility.
That is so true! sounds just like my part chow Beethoven that was with me for 14 years!
Cece is a beautiful dog! 💕
Saint Bernard is my dream dog....rescue of course. Love ❤️ 💗
I could see the emotion and feel her power. The power of loyalty is what she has.
Great story Lee!! You are so enthusiastic and loving with these animals. I wish there were more people like you.
I feel and see that they are very therapeutic for you you need this in your life thank you for sharing
My Chow/Rottie mix lived to 18 yrs 8 months and was The Greatest Baby Ever! She loved ❤ completely ♥ ❤
Oddly enough, just from watching the clip, it felt like she was coming home to you not exercising any type of authority over the space. That was just my impression as a viewer. It felt like a kid interrupted from play, "oh, Dad's here to pick me up, I gotta go."
That's what I thought too!
You're right!
I agree. Sometimes people read more into it than is there
The clips were mere seconds, but I saw Cecelia taking steps forward and back and barking.
Our first family dog was a chow golden mix. Kobie chose me also. He was the most protective loyal dog I have ever had. I miss him everyday.
Thank you for sharing your true life story with us! Noah sounded like a beautiful, special girl😊❣️🇦🇺
Dogs really are intuitive, you should look into Rupert Sheldrake work ‘dogs that know when their owners are coming home’.
Thanks for sharing. ❤❤
Sassy Cece, what a star! 🤩
Love your pack of dogs and I love all animals to
You are one in a million! Your mission here is to do this. No doubt in my mind this is your life path. So happy to see people like you. Blessings!
As Cece made the connection with Lee, I felt sorry for the dogs in the background who were not going to a new home..
They will too eventually.
Lee can't take all of them but he takes a lot. Two more of those dogs also went home with Lee. Little Copper, the doxie mix, and Charles, the big black beagle-looking one.
Let us wait for the New Life Asher House🥰❤️. They will be home.
Oh I wish we could all have havens like Lee has worked hard for.
R H I thought he might have as well
She's beautiful I'm glad you took her with you.
LOL
Cece, you are proud just like a lion!! What a great love you are, now and Forever!!
So enjoying these "How I Met My Fur Children" videos! 😊
I'm a mama bear to my block of flats - I recognise that energy in Cecilia - she was being the mama bear. What an asset to the pack! And oh she is so beautiful and loving!
