There are rescues out there that have up to 200-300 dogs or cats (legal limit). That is not hoarding. It is rescue. Some people just don't get that. And with the dogs able to be inside they get a since of what a "home life" really is vice being stuck in a kennel all their life until they are adopted or put down for over crowding. I have 9 rescue dogs and 11 buried on our other acre from rescue over the last 30 years. I fully understand where you are coming from and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without people like you these babies would be on the streets or dead. Thank you and God bless! P.S. I want a few nanny goats too.
Thank you from a 23 years rescuer. This brings tears to my eyes. I'm a 75 yr old female and don't get to rescuer as much as I used to. But i won't stop cuz i want what ever i have before i pass will go to a good rescue in my Will and my current rescued babies. GODSLOVE TO ALL FOR ETERNITY.
Yes! I was also wondering But the River?! I thought I’d really have a difficult time leaving such a beautiful gift but now I completely understand the process and situation. I have to say it baffled me since I knew how much Lee loved that river but I’m glad he was able to let go and find another place to nourish his Soul and Rescue Family. Hope you’re doing well and enjoying the Autumn season! Take Care 🍁🫶🏼
What I like about Lee , is his way of introducing the new dog, to the group. He explained the routine.. you can see it work. Each dog gets the attention they want. When they ask for it.
Lee really make Earth a better place, that place remembers him and animals forever Thank Lee for wearing his heart on his sleeve💖 Have 10times more help, more luck, more positive energy and more genuine people in your life now. Thanks for sharing your journey 🌞
I'm so glad you all got a bigger place. I'm so happy you do what you do. Also farm animals too because they 're on work horses, cows, donkeys..Im so happy you do for them too and other animals. You just are my hero. I admire you so much. You uplift us all. Blessings too! Also we appreciate your openness and telling us your feelings or things you are dealing with. You don't have to or owe us an explanation. Thank you again for sharing it all. Blessings and much love to you and all of your fur babies big and small.
You will always have pain because of your beautiful, open heart. I guess you will have to just accept and allow the pain. Sensitive people should never apologize for their ability to feel and know deeply. Trust yourself!! You are truly amazing! Sending you much love and many blessings!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
You have such a big heart, Lee! Of course, the loss of any animal is very hard to bear. How much we love them becomes the scale of our grief when they leave us. I lost my cat Wilson after 18 1/2 years, and he passed on my birthday weekend 2 years ago. The love and the pain have diminished only slightly, so I try to offset it with the happy memories and the joy he brought to me. I am glad that you are choosing to continue the dream, and I'm very happy about the new sanctuary! No, it's not easy, that's why the successes are so great. Hang in there, Lee, we will all help any way we can. ♥
Hoarding is possessing things usually not living things I wish I had untold amounts of money to contribute to you what ever land---facilities and care for how ever many animals you would love to adopt and rescue---You would have whatever you need----You have a heart of gold to give these wonderful animals a chance of not only life but a happy life----You----Lee---have a gold star in heaven to quote that old proverbial phrase !!
I truly hope you are actively working with a therapist because it is so important to have the support you need to work through all of the grief and other difficulties you do and will experience running an animal sanctuary. It can also be tremendously helpful for your staff/volunteers to have someone available to them, too. What you are doing is very hard emotionally, physically and mentally.
We all go into having pets with the knowledge that someday they will pass away. Even thou we know this, it still never prepares us for that loss. I had a wonderful cat who was so attached to his 'brother kitty' and when his brother passed, he started over grooming himself. He ran out into the bathroom and choked to death in our bathtub from that hair ball. Very traumatic. But now that years have passed, you do still remember, but you move on. Now I use the bathtub and I usually don't think about it. You mourn, you eventually move on. Such is life. Glad you followed what you think is best for you and the lucky animals you love. Any animal that winds up being rescued by you, is one lucky animal for sure!
Really enjoyed the longer video from you! 👍🏼😊 Congratulations on the new Asher House Sanctuary location! 🎉 Everyone (people & pets) will enjoy exploring the 240 acres! Thank you for being the person you are. Can’t wait to see everything with you. ❤️
Hi Lee. What you and your team are doing is absolutely beautiful. All of my animals have come from local Blue Cross rescue centres, and I'm happy to have been able to offer them a loving, caring, stable home where they can thrive and be content. I too, am Vegan, but I do not impose that on the animals who are not naturally vegan. It's not their fault they were brought into the world, and so they need taking care of. Love to you, the animals, and the team. ❤❤❤
Your move makes a lot of sense to me. But only you can make that determination. Usually, we only see the reason we were unhappy until after we get out of a situation. I know that was true for me. So, the fact you knew you needed to make the move, is a true blessing. ❤❤❤
Lee, do you know Takis shelter on Crete Island in Greece ? He has 430 dogs, and they are all happy and healthy. He has visitors every weekday to spend time with the cats and dogs, volunteers from all over Europe they live on his property. He also has lots of cats, some sheep and goats. The difference is that he is a shelter and people can adopt his animals, except his own dogs. He also keeps growing, starting from a container room to now a hole valley with olive trees and a proper house all from donations. He also suffers from the losses of animals that die from diseases and old age. You are both made of the same wood (it is a German saying) Hugs from Germany
Live and learn - isn't that what life is all about? You have done a wonderful job with all of the animals at the other place and your new place. Funny how we all get signs of what to do when we are contemplating something new. The animals love you lots.

Lee, you are doing your best. Give yourself some of that kindness and generosity that you shower on the animals you rescue. I pray that whatever you face, things will fall into place for the good of your cause. ♡

yes you are correct with the hoarding I got my Himalayan because of that. I wish you all the best what your doing is just it was a dream of mine too . 😊
What you are doing is very important work; providing disadvantaged and abused animals a happy rest of their lives. Let the happy memories of those who passed comfort you…you gave them the happiest times of their lives.
Have good intentions and trust your Higher Power that you are divinely guided. Things happen for a reason on the road to achievement. Have patience and put in the work.
I've never understood how you have been able to pull this whole sanctuary thing off. It is a beautiful thing you have accomplished, and I don't think most people would be capable of it. So, whatever you need to do to make this wonderful thing keep happening for the animals, do that.
You're a rare breed man; wish there were more people like you out there. We all say: "Somebody should do something about XXX problem", but you DID. Don't forget that. 💖
You are the greatest man on the planet!!! Do not regret the mistakes as we all learn from mistakes, Lee! I am 65 and still learning from mistakes living in three countries. Take care x E
I found you about a month ago and I’m getting through most of your videos to get to know you and your mission. I subscribed right away. I think what you are doing is a great thing. You will learn as you go, but you have love in your heart and it will always be a positive lesson. I was wondering if your dogs work with the farm animals. You have so many livestock guardian breeds, cattle dogs and shepherds. I was wondering how your dogs did with your farm animals. Keep up the great work you do in your new place. As for your mindset going forward, try to find peace each day for yourself in any way that works for you. If you make it a daily routine you will have a better handle on your emotions. So if you have a hard day as all of us do, you can have the tools to deal with it better. Congratulations (a bit late) on the new and bigger place! ❤😊
Nobody gets their life without making mistakes! That's part of the process. Thank you for sharing your process. Congratulations on the new property! Are you guys still in Oregon??
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with all of us. You are an inspiration to many. I love watching your adventures and listening to your stories. Can't wait to hear about your new place and hopefully one day visit when you are ready for tours. Blessed be all
Lee.you are doing what many can hope to do. Even giving freely is so as best you can. I love animals. I wanted to be a veterinarian. Just a nurse vet. But it dies hurt to say bye. How to make a big dream bigger hapoen. Cool cause your a good person. I will remember this video. And save it. LOL.
Lee I have a idea what about doing something in remembrance of the animals you loved and lost and put a stepping stone in their memory or a bench that way the stones or bench can go w u wherever u go if u decide to move again
Loss is always a process no matter what, human or animal. We always remember but without the pain. When we get to heaven, our fury friends will be there, waiting for us. They are in our future.
So wonderful that you have a new space and a new beginning. Wishing you and all the animals happiness and success. You work hard and you deserve to succeed and you will succeed.😍😍😍😍
❤I under stand what you mean when you say other people were at your river it's like they are taking something away from you really they are not but that's how you feel you are getting crowded and it's not yours anymore the magic is gone😢
I fully understand about your privacy Many people share the same concerns ! My late father valued his privacy So does my middle son He wanted to buy the property next to him unfortunately it wasn’t Meant to be as the other people Outbid him for the property
That place just didn’t fit you anymore, that simple, wise to move on & find you new place, wether this one or maybe the next. Knowing yourselves is really the gift here. Take Care & Be Safe
I hope if you get more parrots, birds etc you build them a great big aviary where they can open and spread them wings and fly. Keeping parrots some live over 50 years and people keep them in tiny cages that they berley can fly in. Toys just isn't enough..
Lee, don’t look at what you did in Estacada as making mistakes. Everything happens for a reason….everything! So, without having learned from those experiences, you wouldn’t have made it to your new place! ❤️
Never wish for things that you "think" you didn't do, that's hindsight. Hindsight is a form of regret, I don't think you need to worry about regrets. Take it as a learning experience, none of us should look back at "I wish I would have" it's self defeating. You're doing just fine. Like you said "you are where you are because of what you've done."
Sure wish you wouldn’t cut the picture off on the sides. There’s a dog or three I like to look for and I can’t see them walk by because the sides are blocked. Lady is a particular favorite. Thanks.

@@spicybrown75 I’m sorry, but I disagree strongly. Lee doesn’t owe anyone an explanation unless it makes him feel better and he feels the need or necessity. As it is, he’s a very conscientious person and does it because he’s very open hearted, but he doesn’t owe this to anyone. As far as his social media and donations are concerned, that is also something that must be done freely from the person’s heart and not because Lee’s explanations meet their approval or expectations. If you don’t like what he does or says, don’t watch. It’s that simple. People watch and donate because they love Lee, his animals, and how he loves back. Name one famous rescue such as The Humane Society that is transparent about how they spend the donations from the public; the answer is THERE ARE NONE. This journey has been difficult enough for Lee with the heartbreaking loss and enormous responsibility of making life and financial decisions without people putting a huge guilt trip on him about things that aren’t anyone else’s business.
@@Transition333 I completely empathize with his struggles but he does need to share to keep connecting with his audience. If he didn't need to then he wouldn't be on any social media platforms 🤷🏽♀️
Transparency IS important if not vital. That said the level of reflection Lee undertakes demonstrates an immensly high level of integrity. Its not that he is justifying his choices but more a matter of assimilation and sharing of knowledge. In a way Lee is educating his audience. Demonstrsting lots of invaluable skills.
If ONE % of the world population were like you, Lee, we would have such a beautiful "wonderful world". And right now I am talking about your outstanding capacity of deep and serious reflexion, your consistent will to learn and your candid and courageous communicating at this young age. Bravo 👏 👏 👏
@@x1achilles99 that's a mighty lot, seen from the perspective of a small Middle European country as mine. 10 times our current population. Where are you writing from?
Lee, if you see this, know I have fostered 2 dogs because I opened my heart because of you. I have 3 incredible dogs in my bed right now and no where else I’d rather be. ❤️❤️❤️
There is never enough land to save animals because people are multiplying by millions on the planet. We need Asher rescues as well as enough food to feed the hungry population of both species. Bless you, Lee, and stay well and safe.
@@thermostat4body...? Breeding is the reason animals aren't being saved. People buying from breeders while shelter dogs die, and people dumping their pets like they're a pair of unwanted pants.
Lee, its been a year & I pray you know that mistakes, regret, sorrow & etc., are just part of the journey of this life. You're also soooooo Blessed to be open to growing, having those doors open to what you, your beautiful 4 legged, "aves", beautiful creatures & crew are now clearly experiencing. You'll still face new struggles & bc of what you've endured, you'll know how to handle unwanted & even surprising situations. I so look forward to knowing when your new Sanctuary is open for tours. May you continue to receive the bounty of support & May our Padre God continue to keep you all well. Paz be with us all 🙏. "Isa"
I truly believe that you are St. Francis of Assisi reincarnated. He so loved animals and the animals trusted him and loved him back. You are a true inspiration and treasure.
😮 240 acres OMG that is awesome. I knew being a rancher‘s daughter that 25 acres wouldn’t last long not at the rate animals are being dumped. I’m so glad you were able to get such a large property but it’s not going to stop there you’re gonna have to buy more. And I think you should make a petting farm with all of the animals so that people can come to the petting farm have an entrance fee to help make money to feed all of these animals.❤
Lee is living my dream. I have four rescues (I have rescued and rehomed many other dogs), but I lost my job in 2020, I’m alone and I’m getting old. I worry about keeping a roof over the dogs heads for the rest of their lives. I would have loved to have many more dogs (and other animals), but I don’t have the income. So I think it’s awesome Lee has been able to manifest his sanctuary. These animals are truly blessed and Lee is the embodiment of love and compassion. The worlds a better place because of this gentleman.
@@veganc5028 I commend you on your life's choice and spiritual journey. But I don't think that it is appropriate to point blank Tell someone what they should do, to live according to your values. It would be like someone saying to a stranger what religion they should practice such as: "If you truly love and wish for peace on earth, then live as a Buddhist." See what I mean? Especially if someone hasn't Asked for directions, and an older person, and someone who you really don't Know other than from a teeny amount of details that they posted in a comment on the Internet. Your comment, despite being a truthful fact, comes across as being judgemental and may instill guilt and shame in a person who can not embrace "then live vegan", which is Your value. And I know that is Not who you want to come across as. So I suggest maybe restyling your message, something like "Did you know that the demand for animal products is lessened by 200 animals a year by people who are practicing a vegan diet and lifestyle? I will be glad to provide you with a link or two with basic information if you or someone you know is considering learning more about it.😁" Something like that which might intrigue their interest. Remember, our messages are all in" The Delivery" in How they are conveyed to be effective. We can essentially say Anything, as long as the delivery isn't offensive causing the recipient to become defensive. I hope that I have not offended you with my message, it's always the chance one takes when communicating with "strangers in cyberspace" But I am a tough old broad who learned many years ago that "Life is not a popularity contest, you'll never please them all" and I remain strong enough to continue to take chances, hoping I can help another now and then with what I have learned over 7 decades. May many blessings be bestowed upon you, you seem to be "on the right path" in this world that we live in as spiritual beings having very human experiences.🙏🧓
Emotionally you take care of so many others, and you do it well. That being said, are you taking care of YOU as well? First rule of caregiving . . . . . Take care of you, find where/how to recharge your batteries and GET/don't be afraid ta ask.

I cant wait to get a tour. Your Dogs love you and will be happy as long as they are with you. I felt like that was my favorite river too.
Wish you lots of posityvity and good luck with the movement .. this move will bring lots of peace in ur life .. all my prayers 🙏
Thank you for sharing your amazing journey with all of us. You are an inspiration to many. I love watching your adventures and listening to your stories. Can't wait to hear about your new place and hopefully one day visit when you are ready for tours. Blessed be all
Home is where the heart is 💖
Take care,best wishes 🙏
CAN PEOPLE COME N VISIT. I would love to come n visit to see all that lovely fur babies
this was a great decision, Im so glad you found this wonderful new place!
Love love these guys!! ❤ truly angels on earth !!😍💕💕💕
don't knock yourself a part of me dies every time I loose one of my fur babies ...wish I could have the means to do what you are doing huge hugs xxoo
❤I under stand what you mean when you say other people were at your river it's like they are taking something away from you really they are not but that's how you feel you are getting crowded and it's not yours anymore the magic is gone😢
I fully understand about your privacy
Many people share the same concerns !
My late father valued his privacy
So does my middle son
He wanted to buy the property next to him unfortunately it wasn’t
Meant to be as the other people
Outbid him for the property
thankyou for your honesty but you didnt need to tell us chic, you made the right decision for you and your fur babies x x x
240 acres? Excellent!!
You're an amazing male role model ❤
That place just didn’t fit you anymore, that simple, wise to move on & find you new place, wether this one or maybe the next. Knowing yourselves is really the gift here. Take Care & Be Safe
I hope if you get more parrots, birds etc you build them a great big aviary where they can open and spread them wings and fly.
Keeping parrots some live over 50 years and people keep them in tiny cages that they berley can fly in.
Toys just isn't enough..
7:59 it's called compassion fatigue.
Like you said "you are where you are because of what you've done."
hi! where do you live? it looks lovely!! your an ANGEL 😇💞🐾🐾💞♥️🇺🇲
Sure wish you wouldn’t cut the picture off on the sides. There’s a dog or three I like to look for and I can’t see them walk by because the sides are blocked. Lady is a particular favorite. Thanks.
where is the sanctuary locates now? it looks amaizng on your videos
00:57 And ..... Bring in more Lions. LOL
Love Asher! What a heart!
💯 % THE RIGHT DECISION‼️❤️🐾❤️🙏🏼🫶🏼🐾🫶🏼❤️🥰🥰🥰❤️🇨🇦❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
HOPEFULLY ONE DAY I CAN GIVE YOU THE BIGGEST HUG EVER‼️‼️‼️🙏🏼FOR YOUR HEART IS GOLD MY FRIEND & I LOVE YOU, WHAT YOU DO & ALL THOSE DOGGIES & ANIMALS‼️‼️‼️🙏🏼If I may suggest once your doing tours, maybe you could start another video series showing people how to love & respect their animal, how & what to feed them, what they need to be aware of(wires, electrical cords etc.), cover parasite control & how often it’s needed & vaccines with your veterinarian, how to leash train etc… YOU ARE SOOO NEEDED IN THIS WORLD, UNFORTUNATELY WE REALLY NEED MORE & MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU BECAUSE PEOPLE DON’T GET THEIR ANIMALS FIXED…I BELIEVE A LAW FOR CATS & DOGS (unless your a breeder or want to be one), TO BE SPAYED & NEUTERED WHEN THEY REACH THE RIGHT AGE, & I THINK THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD ALLOCATE FUNDS PER STATE TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN…CANADA (INCLUDING QUEBEC(💔THEYRE ARE SOOO MANY DOGS & CATS BEING EUTHANIZED THERE…TERRIFYING TO ME🫣😔💔)), NEEDS TO IMPLEMENT THE SAME ASAP‼️‼️‼️ WITH GLOBAL WARMING THE CATS ARE HAVING 4-6 MORE LITTERS A YEAR‼️DO THE MATH ON THAT…AGAIN TERRIFYING FOR ME & YOU AS WELL I WOULD IMAGINE‼️
WE NEED TO FIX WHATS BROKEN HERE IN NORTH AMERICA & CANADA 1St‼️THEN WE CAN TEACH THE REST OF THE WORLD IF THEY SO DESIRE‼️
(I know right?‼️Big ideas Tracy, but will anyone listen?🙏🏼🤞🏼🙏🏼❤️🐾❤️For our animals sake, & our streets…I hope & pray they will‼️‼️‼️❤🙏🏼❤️Bless your animal loving heart & I’ll be watching & praying for the very best for you and ALL OF YOUR BABIES ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️
Lee, your decision is yours. You don't need to justify that. You know what's best for you and the pets. Keep doing what you do. God bless.
He does actually have to explain to his audience if he wants views on social media and earn money to contribute to his rescue.
I have to agree! ☝🏻
Bravo 👏 👏 👏
That's 80,000,000 people.
@@x1achilles99 that's a mighty lot, seen from the perspective of a small Middle European country as mine. 10 times our current population. Where are you writing from?
❤❤❤😊

Lee, if you see this, know I have fostered 2 dogs because I opened my heart because of you. I have 3 incredible dogs in my bed right now and no where else I’d rather be. ❤️❤️❤️
THAT WAS HIW I FELT WHEN MY 2 PUGS AND I WERE SNUGGLED I N THE BED. THEY WOULD NAP BY ME WHILE I NAPPED , S CUTE.
You are a beautiful person, @Alysha
💯 Agree!
@@dwhitman3092 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
We have St. Francis of Assisi medals on our dog. ❤
Wow. I never thought of that!❤
I love that
😮 240 acres OMG that is awesome.
Add some camping cabins to rent out
@@pamelaraney4654 Oh that would be so cool! Great idea!
@@JackieOgle you could help feed the animals
@@pamelaraney4654 Love it!
Where did the Asher house. Ove to?
Lee is living my dream. I have four rescues (I have rescued and rehomed many other dogs), but I lost my job in 2020, I’m alone and I’m getting old. I worry about keeping a roof over the dogs heads for the rest of their lives. I would have loved to have many more dogs (and other animals), but I don’t have the income. So I think it’s awesome Lee has been able to manifest his sanctuary. These animals are truly blessed and Lee is the embodiment of love and compassion. The worlds a better place because of this gentleman.
If you truly love animals and want to help them, then live vegan. Being a vegan saves at least 200 animals per year 👍
@@veganc5028 I commend you on your life's choice and spiritual journey.
@@veganc5028how bout, no?
Yes thanks for being an advocate for animals that our society rejected thanks for your love and soul
I too have no job. However hard our lives become always remember politics and others actions determine difficulties we cannot control
Btw...all you have done in such a short time is nothing less than miraculous. Give yourself the credit you deserve. We see it Lee...never apologize.
Amen!
Totally! And I bet every animal that has lived at the Asher House agrees 🧡🐾🧡
100% thought it would take 30 yrs to get 240 acres and a house and apparently at least one member of staff to help! Inspiring!
Emotionally you take care of so many others, and you do it well. That being said, are you taking care of YOU as well?
First rule of caregiving . . . . . Take care of you, find where/how to recharge your batteries and GET/don't be afraid ta ask.
EXACTLY, I wish he never felt the need to do that. He’s the LAST one who ever should feel the need to do that. We have his back and ALWAYS will.
Oh hunny! As as family of people who only adopt, a sister of someone who became a pilot to rescue animals, an animal control officer, a shelter worker, you’ve got to keep your eye on the prize! Keep saving these babies lives💙
