Can we all take a moment to be in awe of the doctor who performs 40 to 50 spay/neuters a day? Even if she's working a ten hour shift, that's still around one every twelve to fifteen minutes. Amazing dedication, and worth being recognized for it! 💕
Congratulations Dayton for having a spectacular facility. Thank you Lee for spot lighting this shelter so everyone can see what a shelter can be to a community. Not only for the animals but for pet owners too. Here's a big shout out for people to support places like this and Asher House!!!!
Yay!!!! I live in Dayton and rescued my cat from Sisca. Also, went to an Evening with Lee Asher with my granddaughter. What a wonderful man, Lee is. He had us laughing and crying. God bless you , Lee and your beautiful wife!
Fantastic shelter, great visit. Among all things, I'm very impressed by their pet fostering programs for sick veterans and women in domestic violence situations. Thank you to all the good people who volunteer to look after other people's pets during their difficult time. Fascinating video, thanks, Lee.
WOWWWWW! Every State should strive to have facilities like this one. There are so, so many strays and abandoned pets that get euthanized needlessly on a daily basis because lack of space, etc. This can certainly be avoided, and this incredible spectacular facility is proof of it. THANK YOU LEE for this amazing report
I’m absolutely blown away the work the Shelter💜 does to foster dogs / pets in domestic violence cases and reunite them as well as vets needing assistance to get well. I’m amazed and deeply touched. Thank you.
This video had me in tears of joy. What a spectacular facility and all of the services it offers, So many animals and people in desperate need being heard and seen and cared for ❤ this is hopefully going to one day be the standard that all other shelters would have to meet. Obviously not all can be to that scale but I’m sure you all know what I mean, But what a beautiful step towards making the world a better place if all shelters could aspire to be like this one.
How I love the fact that staff at this shelter actually UNDERSTAND the bonds between veterans and their pets, and the enormous challenges women face in domestic abuse situations, refusing to abandon pets. The other population that is always poorly served is people who are homeless or live in tents, and simply cannot find the money to provide vet assistance to their much loved animals.💕🐾
Yes, In London a charity 'dots on the streets ', help homeless people needing veterinary care, and people needing hospital, also re-hab people, who have no one to look after their dogs. They are a very small charity, and really need more recognition for their very hard work .
Beautiful facility. What I'm most impressed: their program for foster care for a person in need for treatments or in an abusive situation. That's a lot of TLC ❤
Yes that was something all shelters should try to get in place. People who get sick, but will recover may not have family to take care of their pets, but now they can have them cared for and get them back. wonderful program.
Where I live (Scotland) we have organisations who assist in this kind of foster care. They're not affiliated with any pet shelters but work with the DV support orgs directly.
@@jonnylumberjack6223 Forgive me not wanting to be disrespectful, but Scotland is a small country. the full population of Scotland is smaller than all of our animals in the US. This is a massive problem, and although it has come down to only 3-5 million healthy animals euthanized, in a year it is still millions. we do have foster care as well. This shelter is a very, very good response to our stray population. Have a wonderful weekend.
@@LindaBalkin-h8j I'm aware of all that. My point was that there may be similar organisations where you are. They exist, even if not directly working with shelters.
@@jonnylumberjack6223 Your point was made, but you are not hearing me, The issue is so humungous, that foster programs, can not keep up. It is not easy to foster, it is hard work and the fact that we can't find enough forever homes is the main problem. We have many, many, many smaller groups who do rescue. they do not have a concrete kennel situation. They rely on individual foster homes. But, I am happy that Scotland is a caring Country, I do not mean to make light of your suggestions. Truly, we work hard to save as many as we can.
Wow this place is beautiful and very in touch with their community and their needs! My eye’s filled with tear’s listening to him talk about helping DV victims and Veterans having a safe place for their animals. Amazing!
I am from South Africa and perhaps I shouldn't say this but I'm gonna. Can you imagine if and this is in my humble opinion, Lee, Eldad and Rocky met up and chatted about their life's work saving animals and running their three incredible facilities. I love what these three special guys do for animals in the USA ❤❤❤
All of them are wonderful people. I've been watching them for many years. ❤ I must mention Takis. He lives in Greece. He has around 500 dogs in his shelter. A very special man. 💙🐾🐾
Why can't every state have such a wonderful place like this one? I just thank anyone that rescues an animal whether it be from an animal shelter or off the street, thank you for being a caring animal person, you are all angels in my eyes! 💖
Wow!! I live in Indiana and my local shelter is run by Paws. It is the nicest facility I’ve ever been to. It literally has NO dog smell and is so clean. The staff at my local shelter is just as amazing. I had never seen a better facility until just now.
This place is such a great place for your animals until they can find a forever home. Thank you all staff for loving these animals and thank you Lee for showing us..
The program for pets of homes with domestic violence is so amazing. I had to leave my dogs behind because there was no such program years ago when I was in that situation. It still breaks my heart that I had to leave them behind 20 years ago. Thank you so much for recognizing the need for the pet's safety and the family's peace of mind knowing their pets are safe. Thank you for all you do. Your shelter is amazing with all you do for your community.
Wow what an amazing shelter I wish they were all like that It still breaks my heart seeing amazing dogs like we saw not in their forever homes I just wish there were wonderful homes for all those gorgeous dogs
I had a dog like him, he hated people looking at him. Didn't mean he didn't look at them, he very much did. But eye contact beyond a second or two was a huge trigger for him. It takes me back to your meet and greet days. Absolutely beautiful place and grounds. You are in your element when you're at a shelter. You almost glow. Thank you for doing what you do and for being the person that you are!! Love ya, Lee!!💕🥰💕😘💕
Lee, you really need to visit the Sand Diego Humane Society. I can’t begin to tell you about them but they are one of the top in the nation if not THE top. All domestic animals plus wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and release. Full time veterinary hospital, low or no cost spay/neuter, food pantry. No kill for any dog except in severe medical cases. They have a behavioral training program to ensure every dog has a chance at adoption. Training classes for the public. It is state of the art and they live the HUMANE in their name. Please come visit them. Then on your way back you can save some Los Angeles and Orange County dogs that don’t have the benefit of being in the San Diego Humane Society shelters.
I hope Lee takes the dog he loves it’s clear the dog loves him I want him to have the dog so please make that happen ❤❤❤❤❤ I am from UK and I must say congratulations on such a awesome facility we don’t come close your country
I'm originally from Ohio, but have lived in California since I was 7. Good for Dayton, makes me so happy! Every state in the entire usa needs a Lee Asher and a shelter like this one!
Amazing job, Dayton, on creating such an incredible facility! Huge thanks to Lee for showcasing this shelter and inspiring communities to see what a difference these spaces can make-not just for animals but for pet owners as well. Let’s give our support to shelters like this.
WOW!!! They are amazing! They're a baby Battersea (an amazing facility in Great Britain that will blow your mind). I'm so thrilled that this place exists. We so desperately need places like this in every state. I love the programs they offer. I support Purina's Red Rover program which tries to build more facilities that help Domestic Abuse victims have their pets with them. Most safety shelters don't accommodate pets and the victims, as he just said, either won't leave or go back to the situation because of their pets. The Foster for Vets who need medical treatments is another brilliant one. I'm so in awe of this place. Thank you for all you do!!! You're all Angels 😇😇😇. God Bless You!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow so nice to see what can be achieved when a place actually has funding and can work with others in the community to help not just as an animal shelter but helping the homeless and veterans and domestic violence victims. It would be nice if other cities would learn from this and help not only the animals in their city but other groups as well.
Another great rescue: "Big Dog Ranch Rescue" in Loxahatchee, Florida. It's a wonderful facility founded in 2008, and it has saved the lives of over 70,000 dogs. "Big Dog Ranch Rescue" put up a $50,000 reward to help find the person in Las Vegas who deliberately caused the horrific death of "REBA," a beautiful English Bulldog.
Thats amazing you guys foster peoples dogs who has to go in for surgery or become temporary homeless and down the road get to go back to the owner. That's amazing for sure. So many people break down cause they loose their pets.
I wish I could have watched the entire video, but I can’t. I begin to cry every time I see dog behind cage. People just can’t give their pets enough time or patience. TY for every single love you give them. Donna in Pennsylvania
This made me cry happy tears! These babies are so special and the fact that they don’t euthanize these babies is beautiful. To hear a dog that has been there for 3yrs and still has people there loving and helping him behaviorally. This is proof that it is possible to save these babies. Timber would’ve have been put down immediately in 99% of shelters with in maybe a week. The program they offer to foster for people who are sick or in a domestic violence situation is beautiful. I escaped my abuser with my son almost 7yrs ago, and I’m so happy I didn’t have my girl yet. Now, I’m sick, I’m in GI failure, and I’m scared if I have to be in the hospital that I won’t have help for my son or my fur baby. And, I’m terrified someone will help with my son, who is autistic and close to Sephie, won’t help with her and she could be taken. It terrifies me because she does have some anxiety and reactivity with other dogs because of fear. She’s doing way better, I train with her daily, but I don’t know what I would do if I lost her. I pray more places can see this amazing place and realize that there is a better way, and it is attainable.
Hi! I would like to see you come to Lewisburg WVa and get all these animals adopted before Christmas. Ohio isn't that far from Ohio. Please consider helping us find homes for these animals. May God bless you for what you do for the animals all around the world. ❤

It takes me back to your meet and greet days. Absolutely beautiful place and grounds. You are in your element when you're at a shelter. You almost glow. Thank you for doing what you do and for being the person that you are!! Love ya, Lee!!💕🥰💕😘💕
Lee has got to be one of the most beautiful and loving man I know, his soul is pure and full of love for dogs and other animals! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This video touched my heart more than you'll ever know and made me a proud Daytonian.Thank you, Sicsa and Asher House!❤
Wow this facility is amazing. Thank you Lee for warming up to Timber, he's been there for too long.
They have an amazing facility, they should be so proud of what they have accomplished.
A role model for what a shelter should be. So much more. 😊
That dog didn’t show any aggression with Lee. Please take him with you Lee ❤️🐶❤️💕
I'm originally from Ohio, but have lived in California since I was 7. Good for Dayton, makes me so happy! Every state in the entire usa needs a Lee Asher and a shelter like this one!
You can clearly see Lee, that all dogs love you ❤❤❤❤
I know what i'm getting for christmas....a donation to these great people.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Now that’s how it’s done!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
Stunning! Impressive!
Thank you, Lee for acknowledging their people’s dedication and incredible facility! Thanks for taking us along too!
Absolutely beautiful!! Thank you, Lee for visiting and for sharing with us. The facility is awesome and the staff, as you said, is amazing!!
Wow that place is mentally state of the art.
So true!
Amazing job, Dayton, on creating such an incredible facility! Huge thanks to Lee for showcasing this shelter and inspiring communities to see what a difference these spaces can make-not just for animals but for pet owners as well. Let’s give our support to shelters like this.
Wow! That building is 24 years old? Fantastic maintenance crews! This shelter really is a flagship for shelters.
🍃Impressive and inspiring facility it working on a higher frequency of consciousness ❤🍃
All I can say is that shelter is WOW!!💗
I'm proud of you, Lee. I don't know how you managed to control yourself and not get as many as they allow.
What a gorgeous facility and such important work they are doing to save pets and people ❤❤❤!! 18:28

Ohio is one of the most kindest States. What an amazing Facility with lovely employees. May God Continue to Bless all that this facility is about in helping so so many organizations: and peoples. Thank You Lee for bringing us along. This was captivating. Tears not of sadness, but of warming my soul. Thank you all for letting us see and listen to the story of all that you do for Our Pets. 🙏🙏🙏🙏. Oh, and thank you Sarah.
the Cleveland APL is also wonderful. Major support from the community.
Dayton Ohio I'm so proud to call you my neighbor ! Congratulations 👏 on the best place an animal could hope for. Thank you for all your hard work and the help you give to your community. Everyone everywhere can learn from you. Thanks to my Sister City from Springfield Ohio. Much Love and Many Blessings ❤️🙏
Wow, such dedication and caring! I did not want this video to end! Lee will you adopt the one you particularly took to?❤
This facility is Gold standard for Nation. Call the President and make it happen. 👍🕊️🇺🇸🙏
Actually, contact Lara Trump! She is a big supporter of rescue shelters and is building a big 5 mill one in Florida. She should be told about this gold standard shelter!
Not from Dayton but a born Buckeye and proud of this Ohio animal facility. WOW!
If only all shelters could operate & afford this for all animals. We over here in England have nothing like this except perhaps DOGS TRUST & BATTERSEY CAT & DOGS HOME. LONDON. ❤
🤗🙏❤🙏🤗❤🙏❤🤗✨✨✨✨❤🤗🙏🙏🙏 díky za takové lidí ❤🤗🙏🙏🤗❤
Amazing place for all!! If only there were more!!! Thank you Asher House!! Truly an incredible human to start a movement for the wonderful fur babies❤
If only all shelters would be modeled after this one.
Faith restored in humanity what a wonderful facility! 💕🙏🏻
Yes! And God knows, America needs it right now. 🇨🇦🐾
Thank you for showcasing this wonderful organization and staff! It does make one feel more positive about the state of animal rescue. Secretly...I hope that someone living in the general vicinity will fall in love with and adopt one (or two!) of the many dogs seen in this video!
Their work with veterans is heartwarming! Helping people to save pet/ owner relationships due to domestic violence or relationship breakups is fabulous. These folks are so filling in the gaps! Big Hearts! This place is fabulous!❤️
What an amazing place❤
I'm glad you had a good time. It was fun. Timber is a special boy, made for a special human.
OMG!! How amazing that you found this amazing place. I hope there can be at least duplicate of this place in every cuty in the U. S.
