    In this tutorial, we learn how to produce a viscous liquid using Bifröst in Maya. We start by modeling our emitter. Then we add motion fields and viscosity to create the correct flow and pattern. Then we cache the simulation and export the result as alembic. Finally, we apply Arnold's shader to render this scene. It'll be heaps of fun. So let's get started.

    Hello...I have found your tutorials very helpful...thankyou. It would be great if you coild do one on how to import and use .OSL shaders ie the toon cross hatching .osl, Lee Griggs did one but he moves fast and it can be difficult to follow. This is something I desperately need for a project....looks to be a great shader too for all sorts of projects

    can you make a video for bifrost particles with attributes tha control collision like if we pour liquid in a glass and that goes out of that which should not be .

    Im really having trouble using the motion blur with alembic cache. I know it involves color sets but I'm unable to figure it out. I'd really appreciate the help.

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  3 роки тому

      one very cheap workaround is to have vector motion blur as a pass and composite it back in AE or nuke.

    • @Captainsting
      @Captainsting 3 роки тому

      @@sarkamari yeah that's a work around but I wanted a solution to get a nice motion blur effect right in the render itself

    hi i am facing problem with biforst liquid its enabeling but particle not present there

    • @sarkamari
      @sarkamari  4 місяці тому

      I have faced this problem before unfortunately. Seems like a glitch and I reported to Autodesk
      I played around with the viewport display buttons to fix it. Turn off ao and Motion blur in the viewport and see if you’re getting any information if you switch to wireframe mode

    Hi! I dont know why my simulation goes extremely slow, like a frame every 5 seconds. I have a good PC and 16GB of RAM, would you know how to solve this problem? Thank you very much and really good tutorial!

    • @sarkamari

      Will run much faster once cached. Also consider upgrading to minimum of 32GB if you're investing on a computer in the future.

      Select Create > Measure Tools > Distance Tool. Click two points on the an orthographic grid view or hold down V to activate vertex snapping and click on two polygonal vertices. Maya creates two locators with a distance measurement.
