Glenn, thanks so much for putting this video together. My memories of vacationing in N. wildwood are the happiest memories of my childhood. freshly squeezed orange juice in the morning while riding rented bikes .....enjoying the warm sunshine and the crashing of the waves ...heaven on earth. Long walks along the shore while listening to seagulls calling ....the beautiful sunrises....lying on the beach getting good and warm in the sun before enjoying the cool water - Wow! Walking the boards at night - Mack’s pizza with delicious birch beer while taking in the sea air - fudge or salt water taffy for dessert...so glad your video brought back these wonderful experiences - awesome! And of course, “watch the car please”☺️
Thanks Diane, those are my favorite memories also. They were only times when all my family got together and spent quality time for 2 weeks. Of course mom and dad have passed, so the memories are priceless. Started going as a kid in the late 60's every year for probably 25 years straight. Probably saw you there...lol
Same here! Stayed at the Telstar motel in North Wildwood as soon as my parents were done with school, both teachers. I had the route down and memorized by age 11!
Glenn, What a great, fun video. As I mentioned below, stayed in NWW for many years. We would pack 3 generations in the car in Reading, PA and head down the turnpike, taking I-76 all the way to the Garden State Parkway (exit 7 South!). I remember the marbles tournament, and how the Reading City Parks often sent top contenders to Wildwood. A lot of good memories. I subscribe to Joey Contino's Wildwood Video Archive channel, which is how I ended up here. THANK YOU for sharing this. Very well done!
It had been said "Why think of May in November, when December is all that you'll get" but there will be another July... and what a lovely July morning this is! Thanks
I go there every year on July 1st and me and my friends go on July 1st as well and we stay by each other and ride skateboards on the boardwalk!!!! Can’t wait to do it again this year with my new skateboard!!!!!
Great video! I have never been. I'm from CA, it's very different! It looks like a lot of stores were not open yet, but it's neat to see everyone on their bikes. I bet it gets really crowded in the afternoon. Thanks for capturing this!
I live in PA and we were at the Wildwoods(Wildwood Crest, N. Wildwood and Wildwood) 3 times this past summer. It's what we do if you live in PA, NJ, NY, CT...even Canada..... It's great fun! Come visit! BTW--Bikes are allowed on the broadwalk only until noon. Many ppl rent bikes at say 7am....bike until 10ish....eat breakfast or lunch...then walk the boardwalk later esp after 8pm if it is super hot out.
It's 34 years since I last went to Wildwood. Wondering if the Adventurer Motel is still at the end of the boardwalk ? Brings Back memories by the dozen. Thank you.
havent been there in 23 years when they get rid off draculas castle? i remember seeing the sign 10 miles ahead!!!! as a kid it was very intimidating!!!!!
I know, right ? Just imagine being me, who hasn't been there in 44 years ! So with me it's . . . when did they get rid of this, when did they get rid of that ?
Does anyone remember the place that sold ice cream sandwiches made with a slab of neapolitan ice cream between two waffle squares? I know I'm reaching back pretty far like, 1963.
