In all the years going down there, it never dawned on me that one part was skinnier than the other. what an eye opener and now you can't unsee it. You would think they would be addressed it when they replaced that section before.
we rarely go north of Mariner's while we're there (the kids love the rides on Mariner's and Adventure piers) and while i have noticed the boardwalk getting wider past Mariner's, i never put much thought into it. pretty cool to know. the expansion will be nice in that area. i agree it's very tight at nights and with the craft fair further south. it will be a worthwhile upgrade to the boardwalk.
what do you think about wildwoodians saying too many new long term condos being built while they tear down the historic “doo-wop” cheap motels. i heard its being gentrified fast
The existing Mid Century Motels are being butchered by the clueless HD contractors. A mid Century Motel with Colonial doors on all the units and interior doors as one example.
Hey Joey not sure what day you filmed but I must have just missed you. Maybe next year. Boardwalk absolutely needs to be wider in that area. Especially when they have the craft fair on weekends and we ride our bikes. It’s scary how little space there is for bikes and pedestrians and crafters. Also a big NO to extending the boards into the Crest. Not needed
The Widening project is good, any lengthening of the boardwalk is not. First, it's really not needed. Also, you would have to get the approval of the Town of Wildwood Crest, which I'd be shocked if it happened. The hotels that are directly on the beach would be up in arms, and it would destroy what the Crest offers...A nice, relatively quiet escape from the noise of Wildwood and the N. Wildwood beachfronts.
It was very nice getting to meet you last Friday before I finished my vacation . But I do have a question I know they redid the information building by mariners landing pier but the building is still closed do you know when it will reopen because I think it will help with a lot of the questions I see on Facebook also if I can put a small plug for the Jersey string band that I am a marshal for we will be in Ocean City Nj on August 8th an August 22nd on the boardwalk starting at 6th St on the 8th and 14th St on the 22nd starting at 7pm and we are supposed to meet another band at 10St at 8pm and playing a few numbers and then going back to the starting point I’m not trying to take business away from wildwood but we do have a lot of fun and maybe some day wildwood could do the same thing agin like they did two years ago but maybe do a band starting by mariners pier and another band starting at maybe 26th st and meeting half way like the do in OC because they do draw big crowds and they have a lot of fun I know they have some Mummers activities in North wildwood in September I think it’s the 7th where all the bands take part but it would be fun to do in wildwood too
So does that mean they will be tearing down and replacing the police station, bathrooms, stage(do they even use it anymore?), and the water feature with the dolphin statue there?
"Expansion Project" is the correct term. "Extension Project" would be incorrect. Language. Anyway, it does get very congested between the Mariners Landing and Adventure Piers. Beyond the Adventure Pier the 44 foot width always seemed wide enough to me, but I haven't been there in about 10 years.
Hi Joey, Always love u videos. Wider boardwalk really isn't necessary a way to raise taxes. My husband and I always loved to come to wildwood and now my daughter comes loving Mack pizza. Yvonne Williamsport md.
Pass the boardwalk, it’s annoying walking in Wildwood crest, the road juts out plus hard to see ocean. Though have to say walking north of the boardwalk in North Wildwood is nice.
wildwood never seemed crowded to me compared to seaside or point pleasant.i went to point pleasant boardwalk last weekend and couldnt even move it was so crammed. wildwood its the opposite. even with an event going on like jeep invasion or the firemens convention never seemed crowded to me
I don't think the Boardwalk needs to be longer, it's the right length as it is. Widening the Boardwalk in certain spots would help relieve congestion, especially on those nights when it's wall-to-wall people. I'm sure the tram car drivers would appreciate it too!
Joey could you see if the Wildwood board would consider installing wood planking further down the beach to at least the Pier length. Dragging beach carts and other stuff to the beach is a chore for us older folks who can't afford the Beach taxis!
I am a little confused why they waited. Feels like they’re gonna be backtracking a good bit on the large project that they did just last year. Would’ve made a little more sense to do it all at once
The boardwalk lenght is perfect just the way it is. The Crest is the quiet and relaxed side of Wildwood, and and extension would be a serious disruption of that Crest lifestyle.
250 yards of beach. 14 feet is nothing. They could expand it 30 feet. The city will get what it wants from the DEP/DEC if there's money to be made expanding it.
6:15 what that person did on the tramcar is very dangerous. The tramcar can’t stop on a dime. They are like a train. You have to wait for it to stop to get off or get on the tramcar. I’ve seen this happen multiple times and people can get hurt.
I'm glad I was able to enjoy the real Wildwood. WW is done, just another beach town that will soon be down to a dozen or so motels. My guess is Bal Harbour falls next as it's the only hotel property still standing in that area
Covered seating and more new restrooms are needed they have not been updated since i have been going there. There needs to be more women restrooms along the boardwalk not nasty port a pottys,New modern Hotels would also bring people to ww
I grew up in Lodi New Jersey which is Northern New Jersey and we spent our weekends at Seaside Heights where the Beachcomber was over top of the ocean it was really neat they had the best lobsters in town. I always enjoyed Seaside Heights and then when I got older I moved down towards Atlantic City area cuz I'm a union carpenter I worked on the casinos so I bought a piece of property in Cumberland County which is right next to Wildwood and I fell in love with Wildwood Wildwood is great like super great so I'm a toss-up between Seaside Heights and wildwood I kind of like Wildwood just a little bit better it's really nice and the people are nicer in Wildwood North Jersey people are rude yeah I'd say why would it's definitely better because the people in Wildwood are so friendly they're so nice. If that makes any sense to you ??
Expanding is nice just don't start building stuff on that side and turn it into a death star canyon like seaside. Need to see the beach.
ahhh yes. That is a big problem! I don't see that happening though
I agree 100000% do not build on both sides!
Thank you a million again, Joey. Surf and peace, Rocky
I don't want no projects but CASTLE DRACULA!!!!❤❤❤❤😢😢
Thank you, Joey!
I myself like the Crest just the way it is 👍🙏♥️👣🌊🇺🇸⛱️
Thanks for the info Joey. Just came across your vids! Nice job dude - gonna subscribe! Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much!
Once again great information and video Joey thanks Bob
Love the Crest......I'll be there next week, can't wait!
Good, gets too tight bike riding in the morning over that section!

This expansion is gonna be good
They should build another Pier for Mr Morey !!!
There’s so much empty space on the sand
But also , how long would it take?

Hey I am going to Wildwood starting August 5 I will be staying at the attche in creast

I’m sure it’ll happen. A Morey is a county commissioner. The corruption will allow this project to go through regardless of concerns
Do you know what’s happening with the chubby checker mural? Is it gonna relocate?
Amazing
Joey I live in New Jersey too and I want to come to the meet and greet but we start on the 26th so how can we come on the 25th

You can also use your smart phone to mesure the boardwalk. There is an app built in to do this.
that's what I used lol
I’m excited for the project. Can’t wait
You going to be at the Castle Dracula Event Saturday???
Great info. Always wondered if there was data on how many people per season get hit by the tramcar. Average.
The stairs seem to be very steep for the elderly or handicapped people.

You would have to reach out to the city of Wildwood on that. I already had requested that so the more people who reach out the better.
@@WildwoodVideoArchive thank you Sir for the info, blessings to you and the family!
@@WildwoodVideoArchive hello Joey ,do you know the specific department that I need to contact for the Beach boards extension?

Hey! It’s at the DooWop museum on Sunday August 25th at noon
The boardwalk lenght is perfect just the way it is.

It's not an extension. They're widening it.
I always wondered why the boardwalk isn't straight from one end to the other.
it used to follow the natural curve of the ocean
90% of it is
just subbed I'm here for the feet 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
My dream is the Wildwood boardwalk to expand?

Just like no alcohol allowed in WWC!
