The number one rule of fangames is DO NOT ADVERTISE! Keep it to yourself until its time to release! Companies will always let you get close to the end before dropping the hammer and making it all for nothing! Advertise AFTER you release, otherwise you're only drawing the attention of the lawyers. Their vision is based on movement!
I'm convinced that Universal did this simply because they don't want to be embrassed that other people can do dinosaur media better then they can. I remember reading that the reason why nobody else made dinosaur movies is because how Universal threatens them with legal action. Never mind that you can't legally 'own' dinosaurs like that.
It is partially because of the law. For some reason in the past some judge decided that if you don't squash everything that is using your IP then when you actually try to squash something then it shows that you didn't care about others using it so everybody gets to use it. Companies haven't gotten out of this mindset so they tend to attempt to squash everything they know about.
@@srnathan677 SEGA hired some fans who were making fan games to work with them in the retro style games. It's not like SEGA are saints, but it is a smart decision. They get to release a good product, get free advertisement if the project was already somewhat popular, make a profit and get good PR by bringing those fans to their side. Most corporations don't see the advantages of doing this and would rather destroy the project in order to "Protect their Brand" despite it often only making fans feel resentful towards them.
Universal will now hire a AA game developer to rip all the game design ideas off from this project and make an inferior product for $70 with micro transactions.
I'm thinking more that Universal has spent literal billions of dollars on the franchise they own and, thus, they feel entitled to control any output from it. Doesn't mean the game isn't impressive and they shouldn't just be hired to make Universal a JP game. But yeah. At least they were nice about it, which is a lot more than we can typically expect from a corporation.
They have been blowing off the OG fans for years in favor of mindless drones. I am not surprised. The writing for the past two movies has been atrocious. Crichton is likely turning in his grave.
This is the "Trespasser" we always asked for. In the newer films they catered to the younger audience. I could only play Jurassic Park Evolution so much, especially playing Operion Genesis in my youth. My hours in the Carnivores game series far exceeds it. Playing Dino Crisis 2 as well. Reading the books and loving the first three movies, this is what we've always wanted
This looks like an absolutely amazing project. JP is easily my favorite franchise as far as Michael Crichton's original novels and the first movie are concerned. I believe if he were still here and held rights this project would have seen the light of day, logos and all. Like book Gennaro, Universal should have seen this for the creation it is, and stepped in to help, if only for their own profit. Instead they went full movie Gennaro and pissed it all away out of cowardice.
I've always found it somewhat disappointing that the movies shyed away from the darker and more realistic aspects of the books. Like yes I know you can't make a blockbuster where a baby gets eaten but you could've kept with the original horror feel more, especially in the later films.
I bet that if Steven Spielberg knew about this project, he’d push for Universal to let the project to continue, but to also make it an official JP product (like how Valve embraced the Half-Life fan remaster Black Mesa). Could you imagine what an official video game adaptation of a popular franchise would do for Media Molecules’ Dreams? It’d be the greatest promotion for the engine that’d put the Jumanji tie-in tried for a couple of years ago to shame.
This actually makes genuinely annoyed at Universal. Last year, they gave us Jurassic World Dominion which was a confusing & disappointing mess of a film, and now they decided to get a wonderful fangame shutdown because it looked too good. They seem to want us to only like their brand of Jurassic Park and if we decided to make something(that is not for profit even) more to our enjoyment, they have to ruin it so that it doesn't show them up to any degree. Its fascinating yet endlessly saddening how we can never have nice things.
They want to ruin our fun for the sake of it it's not even about money it's about ruining our joy because it looks too good... Boycott universal or call them lol
This is why you don't advertise projects like this until it's ready. That way, by the time Universal (or any other company) gets around to ruining everyone's fun, people have already downloaded it and it's already out on the internet and impossible to remove.
I say we make off-brand alternatives to these popular franchises, with just barely enough changes to make it not infringe on copyright (called it something like "Dinosaur carnival" ), then legally allow fan parodies of our versions
The 30th anniversary for JP went down like a fart in an elevator and you know something? I'm not the least bit surprised. There is a difference between fan-wanking and crowd-pleasing and Universal need to get with that already. Make no mistake, this series is going straight back into dormancy like the wait between JPIII and JW. It's going to be another 14 year stall.
I sum up a lot of the problems with Dominion as "wanting to do fan-service, not knowing how it works." Like, I could've done without Grant and Sattler getting together, but how many wanted the Spinosaurus to return? And it doesn't matter if you have reasonably accurate feathered theropods this time around if you don't let them DO anything.
Goes to show how a corporation such as Universal only cares about the money and not the individual creativity that once contributed to the creation of a money making franchise. It’s tragic.
It would be one thing if they had their own big project that they were going to release or at least _reveal_ for the 30th, and they wanted to avoid legitimate confusion or attention being taken away from their release, but... There was nothing like that. A rerelease of the original film? A few Lego sets?
@VerdeMorte yea these companies, and universal especially, have become way too powerful and comfortable in their positions, the fact they can shut down all this work for a *free non-profit experience built in a different game* based on a series that itself was based on a book is ridiculous and shows how overbearing and one sided corporate power has become in the US, and globally, under our economic systems. Unfortunately, this is just a sprinkle on top of the shit sundae of anti-consumer and anti-worker practices Universal gets up to, like their suppression of strikes and union activity, their suppression of dissent within their company and even within the country through their direct cooperation with our government and military, and their direct production of propaganda films, their near monopoly on popular media, or the fact they have more rights and power over the law than a real human being does, and can directly effect the outcomes of legislation and what laws are passed to their own benefit.
@@semidues8516 You could compromise by making it Teen, but really pushing how far you can go with it. Harder than the movies, less gory than the books. I mean, the first two films did that alright. Besides, kids like being scared sometimes (as a sub, I've quite a few mention watching some R-rated horror movies.
So goddamn frustrating, Jurassic hasn’t been good since Fallen Kingdom, my love for it I has died out, I just don’t know why it’s imperative to have great ideas cancelled now a days. Great video man I whole heartedly agree
Fallen Kingdom really did just absolutely butcher the entire franchise for no good reason and shows that Colin Trevorrow is an inept hack who just got lucky with Jurassic World and let the success for it all just go to his head.
I remember when he released the trailer to the game, the music was so good I had to ask if I could use it in my videos. He kindly said yes if I credited him, and now looking back at how innocent this game was, any big company can do this. Universal announced they were releasing new games onto consoles, but they were just old ones that people have already played. Come on Universal. You can do better.
This is the Jurassic Park that i want to see and not the boring game in which you build parks lol im talking about evolution. That t rex in the neighborhood seems scary 😳
I remember I bumped into this man. I saw his San Diego short. It was a very well done analog horror short. I recommend it to anyone who loves analog horror, Jurassic Park, or both.
Absolutely spot on recap of JP Operations dev and how a passion can make something like this come to be. I have a feeling Krenautican will prevail. Universal will come to their senses and view this as a great opportunity to support their fans. The force is within him. Thanks for supporting Krenautican. The creative world needs more people like you!!
This message is for Universal Studios: Dear Universal Studios, Please, just listen to what is being said here. We're the FANS of this franchise; We're who it's for. Your reasoning for preventing this game from coming out is understandable (those being of people mistaking the game for an official Universal Studios product), yet proper changes can be made to avoid those feared outcomes and still release this game as it was originally intended to be. Work with the creators of Jurassic Park Operations to allow this game to continue as a Jurassic Park; Please, for us fans. There's no harm in partnering with them to make it an official game, or allowing them to use very clear statements that this is not an official Universal title, or something else. Overall, this will not hurt the franchise, but rather ignite the passion in the hearts of fans by letting them give something back to this franchise we love. Please, for the fans. Sincerely, A lifelong Jurassic Park fan If anyone wants to repost that or send that message to social media, or to Universal themselves, you have my permission.
I was so looking forward to this. At the least, they should hire you to do your thing legitimately. This has looked better than anything else since it's inception. Beautiful... terrifying.. keep posting updates on how the game is going on.
to me the problem is that, for some reason, all fan projects keeps putting the name of a registered brand in it. If you put a original/based on name on it, it gets harder for them to try something. But as soon as you put the registered name on it, is like blood on the ocean and they come running with the law hammer.
Absolute currently working on a Jurassic Park project this story actually broke my heart. And to all those fans, I am too sadden for what universal did
What kills me about this whole thing is I found krenautican's channel a week before the whole video of it being shut down by universal was released. And that is such a shame because this is a clearly loving project.
I’ve been following this for a while. I’m kinda torn. I support Universal protecting their IP, but…. your content is damn awesome! Remove the explicit references… then put something out “in the spirit of” Jurassic Park. People are smart enough to get it without the blatant IP abuse.
This is correct. Can’t ignore IP protection for the big guys without screwing the smaller creators. Still sad and wish they could have come to a different conclusion.
What abuse though? The fan team make no money, the company gets remarkably well curated free advertising for their IP. Referring to it as "IP abuse" is deeply misleading and is the type of moralese/legalese jargon companies want us to adopt, so we adhere to restrictions they put on people. What are they protecting against? Setting a precedent for the market being flooded by cheap knock-offs? Well, if they make no money and cannot be advertised on a grand scale, I do not see the harm, potential or otherwise.
@@loganblackwood2922 The “abuse” is taking someones property (IP) and using it to promote your own product. The fact they’re not “making money from it is irrelevant. If JP operations were to release and it was a sucky, buggy, POS nightmare then it harms the JP brand, (and dampens enthusiasm for any future “licensed” games). The inverse is also true. If it was a 10/10 amazing game that’s also FREE, what incentive do the rights owners have to release their own PAID version (to directly compete against a quality, free product). Y’all gotta protect your IP to maintain its value.
It's a multi-decade, multi-million dollar franchise. You really make it seem like the giant company is going to lose money? Universal is a company, it is a business, they are mad because it was better than what their lazy asses are willing to make. Don't support those kinds of ppl, it just makes you seem like someone that cares about millionaires more than artists literally making free shit for people to enjoy@@VJ4rawr2
@@VJ4rawr2 While I do somewhat agree with your point if what a company does is mostly nothing but endlessly sit on an IP while only occasionally trickling out average to mediocre products to make small profit can that really be called “maintaining it’s value”? It’s cynical and has gone on waaaaay too long. If that is the relationship that Hollywood studios like Universal have to devoted fans of their established IPs it risks making the creative experience of that universe smaller than it deserves to be. Do we want the same depressing thing that happened to Star Wars to also happen to Jurassic Park? Heck no! This franchise deserves better. But to achieve that it needs to keep the fans close instead of gradually alienating them like what Disney has done with it’s acquired properties. The fandom has to find a mutual wavelength with Universal. For that we need the latter to meet us halfway. Otherwise we are in for more disappointments like this.
Universal just jealous they cant make a project as cool as this for free with a free engine, there all so salty over there lol i loved seeing this project im totally gonna support it now!
You should talk about Jurassic Vision too (even so one of the games in the background of the video is the main menu of it), It's a Half-Life 2 Jurassic Park mod that, technically, has been in the works since the 2000s after Half-Life 2 came out, they came back around 2020 and had gotten mainstream attention but, that also brought consequences since Universal also mentioned about people maybe getting confused with it being official (similar to JP:O's situation), and that forced the team to finish the game but not have the permission or ability to release the mod to the public. So far the only few people who've recorded themselves playing is BestInSlot and one of the family friends of one of the developers.
Universal has been breaking this series' fanbase long before this happened. But I can say this is the final nail in the coffin. Literally hope they stop touching it all together if they're gonna disregard the heart and love this fanbase has been backing this series with for years to give us park builders and lack luster nostalgia bait movies. There's nothing I enjoy from this series anymore. It's done. It's extinct
Reminds me of what happened with the fanmade Halloween video game. They had to change the name and iconography in the game. If they are allowed to release the game, just without the Jurassic Park branding, then fine. Because, as much as we get annoyed by capitalism/greedy corporations, I get why they'd not allow people to just put out whatever content they want using their IP. They have a vested interest in maximizing their products under _their_ control. That's what they've spent billions on. So, I can see them not taking a chance with someone not under their control. Because there'll always be that person who takes an IP (not saying these folks) and puts something problematic in it. Someone will always ruin the party eventually. It starts out earnest, and when more people see that they can do it, here come something hateful and/or predatory using (insert franchise). A business' business is to look several steps down the road, not just in the moment. So, I get it. Whether we like it or not (and I understand not liking it), that's how capitalism works. But the other side is that, if they used the Jurassic Park branding, they'd essentially have spent who knows how many hours creating marketing for the studio without compensation, which is actually HORRIBLE for them. Now, it could be a proof-of-concept thing that markets their own skill, but the other outcome cannot be denied. I really don't know why they thought that Universal would just sit back and allow it. They're so strict with even people talking about their films on YT, so why would they allow a game to be released with their IP, even for free? I understand why this video was made, and I'm NOT on the side of the corporations, but it (i.e., putting the JP branding on their game) was ill-advised from a logical standpoint.
That last line of make it your self I have started doing that making my own charaters and lore in the series I love and thats part of the fun being in the series yourself!
This is such a sad story, I too was looking forward to its release, this is the kind of game we've all been wanting. But I could see this happening from a mile off. If you start using a large companies IP they WILL come after you. Universal have stuck to the family friendly genre rather than the action horror genre because its by far the most profitable to them. Hence all the films being rather tame and the games even tamer. As much I dearly wanted to see this game come to fruition, it just wasn't going to happen with the JP guise. But hopefully this has given universal some food for thought and maybe, just maybe they might actually start listening to what their fans want.
Well, it's kinda ironic coming back to this after Game Awards 2023 Now everything makes sense. It's still unfortunate these games were cancelled, but now everything makes sense. UNIVERSAL WAS COOKING SOMETHING THEMSELVES
For the people in the comments that don't understand trademark. The company has to do this to protect it. If they wont it makes it harder for them to protect the IP later and makes it easier for others to steal it.
It's very sad to see a well done project being thrown away all because a film company thinking it's confusing to the public as an official Universal project, even though the creator himself wrote several times that it's fanmade. Universal needs to just let us be. We have better ideas than them, because we know our audience. They don't know their audience because they're greedy. This is why we can't have nice things. I'm not a gamer myself, but I am disappointed how fans will never achieve anything they want because of companies not letting them create things for themselves. This needs to stop. I hope y'all are doing well and hoping for this project to become a dream come true.
I think you guys may have been very lucky. If you had put out a clever new twist on the franchise, Universal could have scrubbed online any mention of it, and then made a new movie that would go on to make billions using all of your ideas, but giving you no credit and certainty no money. This is exactly what happened to Seamus Blackley, when he pitched to Speilberg directly 'Jurassic Park:Trespasser 2'. There's even completed art work. It was also covered by Klayton Fioriti, on his July 2023 video 'The shocking truth about this abandoned Jurassic Park sequel'. Take a look, I hope it helps.
You should update this video, now that Universal has released an announcement trailer for Jurassic Park: Survival. They should have hired Krenauticon and his team to be a part of their development team, as their input would have been invaluable to them. So now, it will have all JP branding removed and it's going to be called Cretaceous Kingdom... Universal have been fools.
As a devout member of the Dreams fanbase, this absolutely broke my heart seeing all this ambition get shut down. At least the game will still be released.
A trademark is a trademark. Universal can do what they want with it. It was foolish to think Operations would get away with a production of this scale. It’s AMAZING, btw. But to answer the narrator’s question, there’s nothing stopping anyone from creating their own, unique IP that you’ll have 100% ownership of.
Universal is too busy sanding any and all even slightly scary elements in a desperate bid to appeal solely to children somehow forgetting just how violent these movies were in the past. In this process they seem to have fired anybody who had an ounce of writing talent and we get garbage like Dominion. I don’t care what anyone say about Fallen Kingdom, Dominion is 5x worse. At least FK knew the movie was about dinosaurs. It’s depressing how bad the world movies were. After Dominion I’m not even excited for whatever garbage they’re going to shovel out next, there’s little to no chance it’ll be worth watching
The problem with fan games is if you don't have legal rights to an IP, that makes it illegal to use the IP. As much anger or sadness as we might feel about it, Universal had every legal right to shut it down and Krenautican is the only one responsible, as it was his mistake to use the IP without permission. I hate to take the big corpo side, but when fans do stuff like that, they show incredible entitlement even if it's done in good faith. I mean this is blatant copyright infringement. "Worst case scenario" more like "very obviously most likely scenario". Should just have made it generic dino park from the start. That's not even a "hindisight is 20/20" scenario, if I had known about this when it started, I could have told them right away this would happen, I don't even understand why this even got this far.
Still cannot believe they took this down it looked so unbelievably good. But who knows maybe universal is pushing something like this down because of a game they are gonna make. Kinda like how 343 shut down the halo online fan project because they were releasing mcc on pc. Who knows. Really hope universal steps up the game with jurassic. And bring us a game with some fresh ideas. Dont get me wrong I know park builders in theory are cool BUT MANNNNN. U know a survival horror would just be sooooo sick dude. Like that deathground game
I wish universal would've approached developer and just been like this is cool as shit we'll give you a bigger budget and rights to use our copyright property all we ask is a small commission on sales and we'll try funding it to full length game and help distribute it
Universal was butt hurt, ohhhh they didn't like it! I bet it was Chaos when they put their eyes on this and they start asking questions to their videogame branch, like in ironman!
the fact that mattel and other companies can keep pumping out merch for not just JW, but for JP shows that the fanbase is still strong and the demand is there. Universal has almost left the gaming world completely and it has to be due to out of touch leadership and or lack of influence by people who see that there is still plenty of possibilities for JP universe building.
We need to raise a group fund to pay off Universal. 1-3 bucks a person from 300k people equates to almost 1M, buy into the IP, release said game and use said IP to further your progression. I have a few hundred I’d be willing to offer up.
Universal studios needs to just open up their Jurassic Park franchise name to the public, one way or another. I guess they want to squeeze more money out of their franchise. They could actually sponsor the further development of this game and reap a large percentage of the profit. If they don't want to do that, they could put the franchise name up for sale. We would crowd fund the devs of Jurassic Park Operations to buy up the franchise name and rights. Universal studios would be clever to actually partner with the devs of Jurassic Park Operations, fund them to improve the game(GFX, AI, Original CGI & SFX of dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park movies, Voice actors of the original characters...etc) and take a cut of the profit that the game will make, because there are currently no games or movies making their franchise money anymore. It's already free advertisement for their franchise. They could at least let Jurassic Park Operations use "their" symbols and brand name out of gratitude for the free advertisement. For us born in the 80s, Jurassic Park is heavily nostalgic and Jurassic Park Operations is the trip down memory lane we've been longing for for so long. Kind of petty of Universal Studios to try and shut it down like this while they themselves give us nothing and haven't given us anything in well over a decade. There is so much potential in the Jurassic Park epos. Especially in the first 2, maybe 3 movies. So much untapped potential when it comes to games. Especially when it comes to 1st/3rd person action/adventure games in the Jurassic Park setting. Imagine creating a custom character and starting as a Ranger, playing your own timeline within the timeline of the Jurassic Park movie's main story. Then seeing the power go out and hearing a breach alarm, then getting a radio call to go and look what happened to Ranger R.Muldoon. Then get a radio call to hunt down Dennis Nedry and capture him before he reaches the docks, which he never does anyways. We know why. A single player story line that, at times, intersects with the movie's storyline. In a large open world map of Isla Nublar. Maybe of all 5 islands. Could be cool to allow for online co-op missions like dino hunting (tranq & airlift out), reach and start the backup generator (during power outs, with raptors on the loose) and stop the spy (where 1 in a team of 20 is appointed spy and has to steal DNA for BioSyn and get off of the island while the rest of the team has to stop them...etc. PVP gameplay could also be implemented with Ingen hunters having to stop BioSyn Poachers from obtaining dino DNA , from either live (tranq & airlift out, live tissue sample) or dead specimens(dead tissue sample) and making it off the island again. There would be dhingies, speedboats & helicopters to travel to other islands or to escape off map with stolen DNA. So much potential for Jurassic Park games. Why would Universal Studios insist on letting it go to waste, even when others are putting in the work? For Free?
Because it has. They completely forgot about why we loved the first one and decided down that path of cartoonish anthropomorphism devoid of any mature thought process
It was probably lackluster for the gaming world but in Universal Studios Orlando they made a pretty amazing tribute store and are doing a couple things in Jurassic itself.
Oh dude yeah thanks for the heads up. Glad they're giving us more lowball merch I can buy at a high price in a store in a select location. Yeah dude that's sick and really means something to us fans. More low effort merch. So dope
i think it would take someone fully seeing the legal limits of copyright law to understand how far these companies can take it and set a precedent. but as it stands, these giant corporations are going after fans who aren't even trying to make money off their projects so the fans making things aren't really able to go up against the companies. it's so irritating because fans make things because they love the material and there's a gap that the owners of the IP aren't fulfilling. universal could've hired the guys making this and made money hand over fist but instead the fans were left with nothing for the 30th anniversary.
15:55 Dominion was BY FAR worse than Fallen Kingdom! Why don't you go directly for the worst entry in the franchise rather than the best one of the JW trilogy?
CC - Creative Commons. The day we decide to make a Generic Dinosaur Theme Park as a Public Domain, we would put Universal out of public interest. We can decide to make private intellectual property as a taboo thing to do in societal entertainment, we could even create laws to protect Fair Use Monetization. The days of the copyright claim are going extinct.
This just angers me so much. Universal won’t give us a Jurassic Park game that isn’t yet another park builder or mobile game. Not even a remake of Trespasser. And when people do step the plate they shut them down. Same thing happened to the Jurassic Life mod. A Half-Life 2 mod that was in development since 2008, it was nearing completion around 2019, and a few months later Universal gives a cease and desist. You can only look at walkthroughs online, but you can never play it. There’s a video from Jurassic Time with Seamus Blackley the creator of Trespasser and he reveals that the current management of Universal isn’t interested in the gaming prospects of the franchise. That’s why it’s been so stingy on that front.
I remember when I Saw Maintenance Shed to the game, that Really Terrified Me was Very Bad I had to ask if I could use it in my videos. He kindly said yes if I Have A Flashlight And Walkie Talkie, and now looking back at This Is how this game Works, I'll Be Scared can do It And announced they were releasing Maintenance Shed Scenes onto consoles, but they were just old ones that people have already played. Come on Universal. I can do better.
fans, never try to make anything off of an IP, corporations hate us and only want our money we are insects to them, do not let your creativity be stifled, let go of nostalgia and fly
if universal is so worried about this they should just ask for the rights or something and if they are this worried that also says that the devs are better than the devs on the Jurassic team

I bet that if Steven Spielberg knew about this project, he’d push for Universal to let the project to continue, but to also make it an official JP product (like how Valve embraced the Half-Life fan remaster Black Mesa). This is why you don't advertise projects like this until it's ready. That way, by the time Universal (or any other company) gets around to ruining everyone's fun, people have already downloaded it and it's already out on the internet and impossible to remove.
Or just don't bother with the branding. You can make a dinosaur game. Nobody owns dinosaurs.
@@gentlemanvaultboy8671 Or don't bother with the branding, and when it's out, release a patch that swaps the assets and puts the branding back in.
IE: how not to promote a fan game
right? it's not like they were crowd funding it and needed to give updates
I say we make off-brand alternatives to these popular franchises, with just barely enough changes to make it not infringe on copyright (called it something like "Dinosaur carnival" ), then legally allow fan parodies of our versions
you either die Operations, or live long enough to see yourself become Evolution 1
It's going to be another 14 year stall.
mhm, imagine if this game came out for that would have been huge
I sum up a lot of the problems with Dominion as "wanting to do fan-service, not knowing how it works." Like, I could've done without Grant and Sattler getting together, but how many wanted the Spinosaurus to return? And it doesn't matter if you have reasonably accurate feathered theropods this time around if you don't let them DO anything.
Fans: we want a first person horror JP game.
Universal: sheep don't make demands.
Cannot believe that Universal pulled this crap on us during 2023, the year of the 30th anniversary of the franchise.

I don’t understand why the community has not come together to make a petition for AAA mature Jurassic Park games
Because half of the community members are children and I say more than 50% of people love anything that is universal giving to them. 😢

This message is for Universal Studios:
Dear Universal Studios,
Please, just listen to what is being said here.
Sincerely,
A lifelong Jurassic Park fan
If anyone wants to repost that or send that message to social media, or to Universal themselves, you have my permission.

Nostalgia with these 90s CRT TV commercials
I was so looking forward to this. At the least, they should hire you to do your thing legitimately. This has looked better than anything else since it's inception. Beautiful... terrifying.. keep posting updates on how the game is going on.
He should just call it Triassic Park, change the logo's around and call it parody.
That's what he's doing atm, it sucks he has to remove the Jurassic Park logo from it though
to me the problem is that, for some reason, all fan projects keeps putting the name of a registered brand in it. If you put a original/based on name on it, it gets harder for them to try something. But as soon as you put the registered name on it, is like blood on the ocean and they come running with the law hammer.
Exactly, they should have just re-named the park and re-styled the logo a bit IE: "Dino-Land" , or "Cretaceous-Safari" or something.
@@loganblackwood2922
The “abuse” is taking someones property (IP) and using it to promote your own product.
Did I just watch a 22 minute ad. Well at least I loved watching. Good work.
When you put it like that yeah it could seem that way. It was more to give awareness to creators and their passion. Glad you enjoyed though!
5min in and I already know where this is going and man is it heartbreaking
1:15 - I saw that commercial when it originally aired on TV, as a young boy. Still have the Genesis JP game.
I'm convinced they shut it down because they're embarrassed that this game did what tall their money and formulaic, soulless cinema couldn't.
Bro krenautinan really say this deserves to be for all the people not only for super rich people
If it looks "too good" and could be mistaken for an official game... HIRE THE TEAM TO MAKE AN OFFICIAL GAME. UNIVERSAL YOU ARE NOT TOO BRIGHT.
That last line of make it your self I have started doing that making my own charaters and lore in the series I love and thats part of the fun being in the series yourself!
The problem is that he used the logos music and audio but also uni can eat dirt
I just want a Jurassic Park first person game. Especially one that's similar to the cancelled Jurassic Park game called Jurassic World
This is such a sad story, I too was looking forward to its release, this is the kind of game we've all been wanting.
Well, it's kinda ironic coming back to this after Game Awards 2023
Now everything makes sense. It's still unfortunate these games were cancelled, but now everything makes sense.
UNIVERSAL WAS COOKING SOMETHING THEMSELVES
That intro. It's perfect, I love it!
Really, Universal Pictures should be hiring these guys for lots of money.
They're going to make them lots more.
Holy shit I remember those commercials. The 90’s was the best.
For the people in the comments that don't understand trademark. The company has to do this to protect it. If they wont it makes it harder for them to protect the IP later and makes it easier for others to steal it.
This was a wonderful video that said what many of us are feeling.
@20:49 Universal be like "YEAH JUST NOT OUR DINOSAURS"
It's very sad to see a well done project being thrown away all because a film company thinking it's confusing to the public as an official Universal project, even though the creator himself wrote several times that it's fanmade.
Universal needs to just let us be.
We have better ideas than them, because we know our audience. They don't know their audience because they're greedy.
This is why we can't have nice things. I'm not a gamer myself, but I am disappointed how fans will never achieve anything they want because of companies not letting them create things for themselves. This needs to stop.
I hope y'all are doing well and hoping for this project to become a dream come true.
It's kinda insane the lengths Universal will go to so that they don't have to give fans like us the games/media we want.
Great video, really hope Universal reconsiders.
Honestly since he’s redoing the game it would he really cool if he did dinosaurs with scientifically accurate designs
Love the song at 1:58. Great game.
Debunk File on my birthday??? Best gift ever haha
This made me so sad.
Tonight just got a whole lot better thanks gentlemen
Nice video! It's so sad that the big studios dont want these fan games
As a devout member of the Dreams fanbase, this absolutely broke my heart seeing all this ambition get shut down.
At least the game will still be released.
I trust Krenautican knows what he’s doing.
If it looks so good why not just flat out hire them to make the full game officially. Let them do all of the work for them and release a great game
Love the quote at the end. So true
It would be cool I'd Universal just bought it then made it a real game for everyone
Wow, Universal is so petty
I wish universal would've approached developer and just been like this is cool as shit we'll give you a bigger budget and rights to use our copyright property all we ask is a small commission on sales and we'll try funding it to full length game and help distribute it
Look at what Universal was able to do: the crappy Dominion is a total joke!
Universal was butt hurt, ohhhh they didn't like it! I bet it was Chaos when they put their eyes on this and they start asking questions to their videogame branch, like in ironman!
Krenautican = Tyrannosaurus
Universal = Spinosaurus
I would love parasite eve 2 remake in this kind of style.
the fact that mattel and other companies can keep pumping out merch for not just JW, but for JP shows that the fanbase is still strong and the demand is there. Universal has almost left the gaming world completely and it has to be due to out of touch leadership and or lack of influence by people who see that there is still plenty of possibilities for JP universe building.
Welcome to JURASSIC PARK.
For Free?
It just feel like the Jurassic franchise has been poorly mishandled by Universal when comes to content and merchandise.
Because it has. They completely forgot about why we loved the first one and decided down that path of cartoonish anthropomorphism devoid of any mature thought process
I can't wait to watch this later tonight!
Hope you enjoy it!
I just have to wonder how much the JP Survival game that got announced might of had it's word to say in this story.
So dope
Say it with me: "if a corporation thinks it's more profitable to destroy art than to create it, it WILL destroy it."
i think it would take someone fully seeing the legal limits of copyright law to understand how far these companies can take it and set a precedent. but as it stands, these giant corporations are going after fans who aren't even trying to make money off their projects so the fans making things aren't really able to go up against the companies.
it's so irritating because fans make things because they love the material and there's a gap that the owners of the IP aren't fulfilling. universal could've hired the guys making this and made money hand over fist but instead the fans were left with nothing for the 30th anniversary.
15:55 Dominion was BY FAR worse than Fallen Kingdom! Why don't you go directly for the worst entry in the franchise rather than the best one of the JW trilogy?
Lmao Universal is being jealous, this is supposed to be a win win kind of case but of course Universal doesn't sees that far
how dumb is Universal to not at least offer the license to this dev
And would you look at that, now Universal has completely ripped off the idea with their game “Jurassic Park Survival”. Krenautican deserved better
Sorry I just had to say I knew that music in the beginning all too well. The lost world for sega genesis
Should call it " Untitled Dinosaur Park Game" like that goose game😅 or Triassic Park 🤷♂️
Was there ever an update on Pl4ygrnd I saw they posted something a year ago
if universal is so worried about this they should just ask for the rights or something and if they are this worried that also says that the devs are better than the devs on the Jurassic team
