No matter how controversial Trespasser may be, there's no denying how influential it's been not only for the franchise, but for gaming as a whole. Gabe Newell himself sited Trespasser as an influence on the Half Life series. Games like Surgeon Simulator exist because of it!! Not only that but as you said Klayton, Trespasser is the type of game that a lot of fans including myself want to see be made today. I enjoy the Jurassic World Evolution games, but I would absolutely love to play a proper survival horror Jurassic game!!
Theres a remake of trespasser called Untitled Dinosaur game. Its going to have lots of stealth like Alien Isolation and will keep alot of the physics gameplay that made trespasser unique
Hey yo dude you are playing arc I do too or is a really good game so I have a mod for you that would that would love playing on ark survival evolved it is called dinosaur V2 it would allow you to store your dinosaurs and it would like keep your dinosaur safe in your inventory so all your dinosaurs your teamyou’re welcome bye
carninores jp legend mod way better. dont know if it was around on 2004 maybe its later mod but still. trespasser half life influence a lie. the first half life nothing do with trespasser its was quake engine improvements. recent half life documantery says all the fps games that era they avoid.
I have SO many memories of Jurassic Park on my Genesis. Never could beat that game when I was a kid. I also remember the fighting game. Cannot forget about Chaos Island. So many good days.
The Lost World Jurassic Park, along with Moto Racer and Bushido Blade, was the first PlayStation 1 game I ever owned back on Christmas of 1997. That game was hard as balls (I don't think I ever got past the Compy section), but it holds a special place in my heart.
I played a bunch of the Jurassic Park games when I younger (from the SNES one to Trespasser), but my personal favourite was Chaos Island, no contest. An RTS game where you have an army of dinosaurs? How cool is that! I've replayed that one again and again (including once a few years ago, where I finally got the real ending). While it could've been lengthier and more expansive, I still wholeheartedly enjoy that one.
The game that's the most similar to Trespasser is the Sega CD version of Jurassic Park. Not many people know about it, and not everyone likes it, but I admire how it decided to do something different. It's a first-person point and click puzzle solver with occasional shooting. Your character flies back to Isla Nublar to collect eggs, but the helicopter crashes and you're stuck there. Obtaining an egg from every dinosaur species is dangerous enough, but the fact that BioSyn are on their way to the island ramps up the stakes. You're also on a time limit of 12 hours. It also has FMVs of Dr. Robert Bakker to talk about all the dinosaurs. The game is supposed to take place after the movie, but they mixed in material from the novel, like the raptors nesting in caves.
Operation Genesis is a damn good game. That allowed fans to have to their own Jurassic Park to build and manage. It should’ve gotten more than just a mention here.
Lost World 97 is fun. You get to drive the jeep around not one mention. That list is a personal opinion and honestly trespasser shoun not have even been in the top 5. Not to dump on it because the concept would be cool but if you do a FPS and make it like Turok-style i think they got something there. I see what you're saying.
@KlaytonFioriti Ngl, the automatic dismissal of it here kinda pissed me off. A lot of these can be readily bought and played on modern hardware via the collection, but JPOG can't be, so for it to be just be waved off is a major disservice, as JWE 1&2 BOTH fail to measure up in almost every conceivable way save for graphics.
Awesome to hear JP:RE was your favorite as well! I spent so many hours playing that game as a kid, can't wait to try it as an adult with better motor skills. The game to me was truly a masterpiece, the levels and weapons. I can't wait to hop in the boat again and fight the Tyrannosaurus ❤
I loved Trespasser back in the day even though it ran like a slideshow, the atmosphere was amazing. The Planet Trespasser forums and the Trespasser Hacking Society were the first online video game communities I ever was a part of. I was playing Goldeneye 64 before Trespasser so for me using Anne's hand was similar enough to aiming with the N64 controller in Goldeneye. If Nightdive doesn't want to remake Trespasser I would suggest the developers at Teyon who made Terminator: Resistance and the more recent Robocop: Rogue City which are both quite good games using licensed properties.
Nice picks of the top ten classic Jurassic Park games and these games are kinda cool and very amazing and Life Definitely Finds A Way with this. Great work on this Klayton Fioriti and keep it up with your amazing Jurassic Content and as always, Take It Easy and Life Finds A Way.
Awesome top 10 list, I'm really happy you included the Amiga version, which is the one I grew up with and absolutely love! Have you played all the Jurassic Park pinball machines? The Data East and Sega ones were based on the films of course, but the two Stern ones have their own story about capturing dinosaurs and rescuing park workers before a volcano erupts, which is kinda cool.
My brother brought the Amiga version of JP and it was a lot of fun to play. The indoor levels were terrifying for me as a ten year old. The music when the Raptors attack still makes my heart race.
Trespasser is such a unique game. It’s the only game where you can accidentally drop your weapon or get it knocked out of your hand, after which you have to scramble to pick it up or find a substitute weapon such as a rock
Loved Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues & Jurassic Park Rampage Edition that take Alan Grant & turn him basically into a Navy Seal instead of a paleontologist.
Jurassic Park on the Genesis was my jam when I was a kid. A game that let you play as a dinosaur was mind blowing to me, and the Grant campaign was fun, too. That opening sequence you introed the video with is burned into my brain.
Trespasser is my favorite too, I’ve played the whole game 3 times. I am really happy that some lesser known ones made it to the list, like the Amiga game, which I’ve played. It’s pretty difficult, but it’s one of my favorite games from the JP era. I would have the Genesis game on my list instead of Dino Defender, but that’s just me. I also really love the Lost World Game Gear one, which I’ve played a couple times and am glad you brought it up. I hope we get a classic game collection for The Lost World, but I know it won’t happen. Also, thanks for introducing me to Rampage Edition a couple years ago, because I play it all the time now and love it!
My favorites growing up definitely were Jurassic Park (Sega Genesis), Jurassic Park Rampage Edition, and Warpath: Jurassic Park. By the way the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection is out now digitally on storefronts. I've been playing the Sega Genesis games like crazy 😂 I still can't beat Rampage Edition for some reason but I am determined! I definitely miss the darker Jurassic Park stuff.
I remember owning warpath Jurassic park and that was my favorite growing up, being able to play as a dinosaurs instead of a human my friend and I would constantly win back and forth! Memories
I literally watched this video to see your opinions on Jurassic Park 2: Tne Chaos Continues. Love that game, played it several times. Thank you for the video! Great work as always.
Man I’d love to see a true survival horror Jurassic Park game. I know Dino Crisis 1 and 2 exist; I’m talking about a survival horror game based on the Chrichton Novels.
I do like all the games in this list, but my personal favourite of this list is Trespasser because of this game looks fun and great lore being told as well surviving from different dinosaurs 🦖
That opening scene of your video, damn, it brought back so many memories flooding in my head I forgot about. I played that game every day when I got it Christmas morning on my Sega. I actually opened the game on Christmas morning before I had a Sega and my parents tricked me in to thinking Santa made a mistake getting me games for a console I didn't have. I got the console from my grandma later that day.
@@olivercubitt624Same, loved it as a kid. Went back and played it in early 2016, still holds up in my opinion, even if some of the unit pathfinding has aged poorly. Just baby those units like Eddie would technology, and you'll be fine.
I know none of these games (except Trespasser, that game is the best in the worst way possible, iykyk lol) but I see this as an opportunity to experience more of the Jurassic Park content I’m that I can’t get enough of! Definitely getting the game collection when I get the chance!
My family & I played a lot of games. But one that my parents LOVED and is still loved A LOT in my family is "Jurassic Park CD" (Jurassic Park on the Sega CD). There wasn't a wide variety of video games available to us at the time. But we bought JPCD and fell in love. It really made us feel like we were in a one-man Jurassic Park film. The game kept freezing on us. My parents thought that it was our copy of JPCD. Maybe it was scratched or even a bootleg! Being stubborn, we set out to buy multiple copies of it... only to find out that it was our console that was messing up! None of us ever beat it. It became legendary to our family. When I grew up, I was able to play it again. Luckily, our Sega CD survived a house fire and actually worked! (Shows how sturdy Sega hardware was!). We tried playing JPCD on the console but ran into problems. Thankfully we had enough money to buy a new Sega CD console and were FINALLY able to play it... only for us to not get any further! lol Later, I beat the game on my own via Emulator without savestates. The ending was quite lame, in my opinion. Simply a "pat on the back". Regardless, it actually had more in common with the novel version of "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" than the film. It was exciting, difficult and fun! My family & I keep holding out hope for a Jurassic Park title that gives us the same experience of survival and hard decisions to make like JPCD did. Here's to the upcoming "Jurassic Park: Survival" game being good! :D
I grew up with the nes, GB, and Sega games. Those felt so much like Jurassic to me. Surviving, defending yourself against dinosaurs. There were so many games out for this franchise, that when Jurassic World came out - I expected that same energy of games coming out. The closest they came to it was Lego JW with JP1-3 and JW. Such a fun experience. But besides that, the DS version of it, and the park builder that never dies, that's basically it. Bit sad. It *needs* an action/adventure first person OR third person game. So yeah, I'm so overjoyed to see this JP retro game collection and I'm definitely getting it for Switch soon. I remember all of them.
ABSOLUTELY HOPING TRESSPASSER gets remade!! Some other games that I absolutely love are Jurassic Park Sega CD and Jurassic Park 3DO (I was one of the few that got a 3DO),in which there are First Person levels in which you are being chased by a Velociraptor (and your character is unarmed). Anyway, this is another great video! Thank you and God Bless you too!!! C.I.K.!!!
I want a VR remake of Trespasser. It would fix all the control issues they had with the arm manipulation mechanics. Flesh it out with more content and fix the dinosaur locomotion and it would be gold.
I don’t know about everyone here, but the JP game I grew up with back in the 90s is the arcade shooter found in Chuck E. Cheese. I remember sitting in that station that is designed the same way as the Jeep from the movie and the seat moves around.
There was a PC I played a ton with my dad when I was a kid called 'Jurassic Park: Danger Zone.' (I think) This video made me think of that for the first time in like 20 years.
I think a sort of Warpath 2 could do really well especially since the fighting game genre in itself is booming back. I was never able to get my hands on warpath but I feel like an entire cast of dinosaurs allows for at least some versatility and unique aspects from any other fighting game on the market.
12:00 the best part of that game was the music by Michael Giacchino. ever since i first played it back in the day, i would always put the Playstation in music player mode just to listen the soundtrack (still do to this day). it was so legendary, that Giacchino even put the game's Raptor theme in the Jurassic World movie soundtrack (during the scene where the raptors turn on Owen)... i can't begin to explain how much i geeked out when i watched that scene
I loved the Sega Megadrive game of Jurassic Park, and Trespasser! As difficult as Trespasser was, I had a great time and I’ll always remember exploring the town and trying to figure out what I had to do. The raptors were buggy but that’s what made them extra scary haha! They would sometimes twist up in weird shapes and then you’d touch them and they’d spring back to normal 😅 And while not on your list, Chaos Island on PC was a great time too as a Lost World strategy game featuring the main characters’ actors’ voices! 😁
As a kid, me and my little brother were obsessed with a pc board game called Jurassic Park III: Danger Zone. We loved mario party together and dinosaurs, so thus was a match made in heaven for us. I still remember the spinosaurus roar matching game as well as the announcer yelling "Road block!"
I grew up playing JP on the Genesis. My brother and I could not figure out the last Grant level in the visitor's center for the longest time. I remember having my mind blown when I went to a friends house and he had "Rampage Edition".
The games really show how the franchise has changed over the years and highlights that one meme about building the thing you aren't supposed to build. The first games were action adventure or even horror. Now the games have the player building a park and breeding the dinosaurs.
I was born a year after Jurassic Park 3 came out so I pretty much missed out on all the older games but was always fascinated by them. As I've never played any of them, can't say any of them are my absolute favorites. I've played only four console Jurassic games in my lifetime: Jurassic Park: The Game, LEGO Jurassic World and of course, Jurassic World Evolution 1/2. Out of these four and I'm sorry if anybody disagrees with me but this is my own personal opinion after playing all four of them for a long time... my favorite is JWE2. I know... it's a park builder just like the previous two installments and many more mobile games but I generally think that game is absolutely great. Not to mention the amount of content and updates the game is currently getting, I can't help but to love it. I can understand why it will not appeal to everyone, don't get it twisted but I enjoy it for what it is. Won't lie though.... I'd love to get my hands on some of the older games to at least try them out.
I've only played the Demo of trespasser, but apart from the Genesis Jurassic Park games, nothing hits my childhood harder then Chaos Island: The Lost World. I wish that game had gotten a remaster or sequel.
I like Lego Jurassic World ain't never played the game before but i got that game last year and still play to this year it's too funny to see them dinosaurs act like humans IMO
Jurassic park for the megadrive was the very first game I ever seen/played.got it for christmas alongside sonic 2 and jungle strike.also the rampage edition was so much fun but is painfully short
I don't know if you remember Chaos Island, but I used to spend hours playing that game. I really like the little line Eddie has in the game about the movie.
The GBA game was my first Jurassic Park game. I still have it and play it from time to time on either my DS Lite or emulated Ambernic device. I think the last time I played it was last October, but going to play it this weekend on my spare time now. Love it and nostalgic for it.
I don't even have these games when I was young but I'm glad that Jurassic Park fans enjoyed the games btw klayton thanks for telling us you top 10 favorite JP games love your video 😊😊😊
When it game to dinosaur centric video games it was all about Turok. The JP games for the GB Advance were the only ones I got into. Would love to see trespasser get remade.
What's really funny is at the end of The Lost World game players get to receive a message from Ian and tells them to go outside and touch some grass😂. How good the 90s was back then
My favorite part about the jp games back then was the custom soundtracks they created for them. Tlw and jpog music really pulled you into the jp nostalgia
Rampage Edition and JP1 on the Genesis are my all time favorites. I am happy that they decided to include both in the collection. I have not played Trespasser due to me not being big into PC games at the time it was out. I am looking for a copy to play or download though. I just got the JP Classic Collection and have been playing through all the games. I have to start the NES one over though. The latest patch for it on the PS4 made it where I can not load my saved game.
I was never a gamer as a kid and I am not one now. The only Jurassic Park game I ever played was Lego Jurassic World and I loved that game. It was a lot of fun.
I played the Amiga version a lot back in the day. Could never was able to get through the first level but still enjoyed every moment. Have recently re-bought the game for collection purposes.
I had the MS-DOS port of Jurassic Park on the Amiga. It barely ran on my family's Packard Bell, but managed to get it running a computer in my school's computer lab. It really was an underrated classic. Though if I recall, the DOS port had better first person sections compared to the Amiga, though the controls were janky.
My favourite Jurassic Park game was on the Sega Master System, you go through four different levels, battle against four dinosaurs and capture them. If you made it through without a game over then you faced the Tyrannosaurus Rex. I also like the Sega Genesis version.
LW PS1 had one of the best soundtracks. It was one of if not the first video game soundtracks to use a full orchestra, and I honestly still feel it's Micheal Giacchino's best work in the franchise, and among his best work period.
My favorites as a kid in order. PlayStations:The lost world Saga Genesis: The lost world( I was disappointed it wasn’t on your list.) Saga Genesis: Jurassic park rampage. SNES: The chaos continues. Saga Genesis: Jurassic park. PlayStation: Warpath
I was very happy and surprised that The Lost World on PS1 was #2 on the list. That was the first video game I ever played, and I still have a copy of the original game. I got so good at it that I could 100% DNA speedrun it in under two hours. I also got really good at the T. rex levels to the point that it was the one character I usually would play through and not die even once. I usually would on speedruns only die 1-3 times, but… One time I got lucky and did beat the whole game without a single death. Oh, and the highest number of lives I finished the game with, with all DNA, and without using extra life cheats, was 72. Once you get good at the game, to me it becomes a fun 2-hour romp through Isla Sorna that culminates in Sarah Harding being the last one standing. The best part to me is playing as the legendary T. rex, once you nail down the survival tricks (Yes, there’s a way to avoid being ganged up on by raptors, you can jump over the one coming toward you fron the front, and have enough time to turn around and bite all raptors on now one side, move in the current direction a bit, and you have enough time to turn back around and grab the newly respawned raptor before it can try attacking, then proceed forward), it’s seven levels of pure entertainment where you march through environments, mow down anythung that gets in your way, and destroy obstacles. But, I’ll admit you have to in some cases know where enemies will spawn and respawn from, and for beginners, sure it’s probably hard. To me, that doesn’t matter, because the game is awesome and you’re 100% correct on everything you said about it in the video. Thank you.
Also crazy how Survivor is pretty much the sequel to this video and everything you wanted in a JP (P! Not W! 😅) game! Let’s goooo Good timing on your video
I am with you on this one - love Trespasser - it's my top favorite game of all time. I think people just call it out because it's "not cool" to think it was a great game.

Celebrating the release of the Jurassic Park collection, am I right? I can't wait to grab it...when it comes down in price 😅

Awesome video!❤️
Now all we need is a Jurassic Park arcade adaptation for consoles/VR
The opening of this video is literally the first game I think of whenever I think about Jurassic Park games
Awesome video! Never heard of the amiga game!
I want a VR remake of Trespasser. It would fix all the control issues they had with the arm manipulation mechanics. Flesh it out with more content and fix the dinosaur locomotion and it would be gold.
I had the amiga game and loved it! The intro scene I used to fall asleep to listening to the Island sounds and the dinos
I don’t know about everyone here, but the JP game I grew up with back in the 90s is the arcade shooter found in Chuck E. Cheese. I remember sitting in that station that is designed the same way as the Jeep from the movie and the seat moves around.
You’re so hard for Trespasser! 😂
I personally loved jp and jp 2 on sega... great content keep the good work up man
Trespasser and Dino Crisis remakes would seriously be a dream come true
Theres a remake of trespasser being made called Untitled Dinosaur game. Its going to have lots of stealth like Alien Isolation
I loved the Sega Megadrive game of Jurassic Park, and Trespasser! As difficult as Trespasser was, I had a great time and I’ll always remember exploring the town and trying to figure out what I had to do. The raptors were buggy but that’s what made them extra scary haha! They would sometimes twist up in weird shapes and then you’d touch them and they’d spring back to normal 😅
And while not on your list, Chaos Island on PC was a great time too as a Lost World strategy game featuring the main characters’ actors’ voices!
100% agree with trespasser as number 1. Personally I would've put warpath up higher, love that game!
The Lost World RTS is by far one of my favorite JP games ever created, I played that game constantly back in the day.
My first PC Game was The Lost World Chaos Island. Got it when my dad got our Compaq desktop. RTS meets JP. It was so fun
That intro was brilliant
These classic Jurassic Park video games are awesome my favorites are tresspasser and warpath.
Trespasser absolutely deserves a remake. That would be SICK. It has so much potential to look so beautiful.
The operation genesis snub 😭
The vendetta against park builders returns
I don't even have these games when I was young but I'm glad that Jurassic Park fans enjoyed the games btw klayton thanks for telling us you top 10 favorite JP games love your video 😊😊😊
Yes!!!! I love Rampage Edition!! My second favorite Genesis game overall!! And of course my fav JP game
When it game to dinosaur centric video games it was all about Turok. The JP games for the GB Advance were the only ones I got into. Would love to see trespasser get remade.
Dude! That into to the original Sega game still gets me every time!
Warpath reminds me of something I had as child called the Jurassic Park Dinodeck you had a game on there where you put dinos against eachother
1:10 Automatic L, especially for just dismissing it over that little pet peeve alone.
Lots of cool Easter eggs in the loading screens for The Lost World PS1. Some of it is lore, some of it memes. I wish that game was way longer...
I played the Amiga version a lot back in the day. Could never was able to get through the first level but still enjoyed every moment. Have recently re-bought the game for collection purposes.
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe and Happy Holidays 😊
Saddened to not see Chaos Island on here. Great list, none the less
PlayStations:The lost world
Saga Genesis: The lost world( I was disappointed it wasn’t on your list.)
Saga Genesis: Jurassic park rampage.
SNES: The chaos continues.
Saga Genesis: Jurassic park.
PlayStation: Warpath
For me, Jurassic park for GB was the first game I had and I definitely enjoyed Warpath and Dino Defender.
To the hell with Park Building...
I had my quota of Rollercoast Triccon.😂
I love Jurassic Park and Jurassic world games
I was very happy and surprised that The Lost World on PS1 was #2 on the list. That was the first video game I ever played, and I still have a copy of the original game. I got so good at it that I could 100% DNA speedrun it in under two hours. I also got really good at the T. rex levels to the point that it was the one character I usually would play through and not die even once. I usually would on speedruns only die 1-3 times, but…
One time I got lucky and did beat the whole game without a single death.
Not W! 😅) game! Let’s goooo
Good timing on your video
I played alot of these games , and they were great.
I am with you on this one - love Trespasser - it's my top favorite game of all time. I think people just call it out because it's "not cool" to think it was a great game.
Video game canon Alan Grant was a frickin badass.
Ok that's inspired me to pick up that classic games collection on PS4
