Kingsguards' armour remember me of the old Foundry's War of the Roses' minis, Kingdom's death's figures are really too huge for the other brands, or perhaps could pass for DemiGods, also for their exaggerated hips!
The Kingdom Death stuff aren't so bad when that's all you're fielding on the table, and at this point I could probably put together a proper rank and file force out of all the figures I've painted! I should probably dig out some sprues of Perry footmen to hang out with these men at arms while I'm at it...
Priming? I usually use Tamiya primers. Or cheap stuff from the hardware store for bigger and less delicate stuff. I usually hit everything with a dull coat/ matte sealer after finishing, and after hitting them with a gloss coat as well. I think the double coat is what gives them that dullness.
3m rule. If it looks good from 3m away, it's good. Always better than grey.

That or I have busybody children involved in too many activities!
Good work as always! That worm dude is grossly awesome
Add in a wizard and they'd be a good band for Forbidden Psalm!
I've got some Bestiarum ones floating around that would fit in perfectly!

Have you tried acrylic pens yet? They are inexpensive and work really well on things like shields. They would provide much more control.
👍👍
Not yet, and hearing that (again) makes total and complete sense!
Aren't Altdorf troops Red and White though?
Talabheim are red and white, according to the old Armies of the Empires plates I was looking at for reference.
what color(s) are you priming with? I've noticed your minis all have this dullness to them.
