You know, when they edit their footage to play at 2x speed, it's gonna be 2x speed even if your youtube playback speed is on normal, right? You know that right? Or is this a joke that's going over my head.
Books are generally broken into 8 page signatures, an awl is used to punch the holes, after sewn together everything is placed in a press where they are hammered flat or to the desired curve, a cheese cloth style material is pasted to the spine and the paste is allowed to cure overnight, next a guillotine style paper cutter or a draw knife are used to trim the edges to a uniform length and then one starts the whole process of creating the cover and end sheets. It’s a long complex process but you’ve mastered painting so it should be very doable for the team if given enough time. No need to feel anxious about this iteration.
Great job! For the book binding, try making multiple smaller booklets so the folded pages don't bulge as much, and trim the edges down after stitching the booklets. That's how we did book binding at Uni.
This is absolutely superb! The greatest codex cover ever, but in 3d?! Amazing work all round guys. Make this into a series of making codex covers into book nook style dioramas! I love to see more
So much coffee she’s reached miniature enlightenment! I love the old elder, so janky yet at the same time they have some undeniable flair. Great work on bringing them to life.
I like the fake book idea that Jen painted on in the end, it would be cool to see the diorama box mounted inside a similar proportioned book with a diorama sized hole cut out of the centre as if the diorama is a portal into the world like the inside of the Tardis
Yes, I would love to see a series of these codex artworks made into little book dioramas! The book binding element would definitely give that extra magical flair.
The Futurama reference was great LOL Also love how the diorama turned out, you're right that it's one of the best codex covers ever and you made an amazing tribute.
Murray... Is seriously SO good at painting stuff, holy shit! Dave did such a nice job with the models also! Also so cool to see Jenn paint the background, i love the idea so much, you did so great
This is amazing guys! Love a diorama!! Hopefully this can become a semi regular series. So many great codexes out there to replicate. Also loved hearing my shout out!!
As an old Eldar fan, this is my favourite thing you've ever done one the channel. Just so good :) I'd love to see you do one for the 4th Edition Codex Eldar.
What a great project! So colourful and fun. Also, I love bookbinding so getting a series of that sounds awesome :) I'm so happy you're able to keep going for a while. Never been more glad to support creatives on Patreon. All the best.
This looks so cool! Loved every minute. ❤ Such a joy to see you all having so much fun making this! A real work of art. Well done, Jenn, Murray and Dave😊
Jenn, it was a good job for your first time book binding. Some tips that might help: Print the book in smaller sections, called signatures, so you are only folding 12 pages at a time Trim the book after sewing, so that the pages are nice and neat.
The result is amazing! Great job gang! I love to see project like this with everyone working on it, it feels like an avengers episode were everyone join forces to defeat the villain (or finish the project on time)
So glad you guys are able to keep going! You really helped me enjoy painting, before it was always a chore but you really really helped out in showing me how to have fun with it, so thank you ❤
Great work on both the project and the video. My wife and I immediately searched through our Codex collection for our own version of this project. Thank you!
So now we know what we need, all of the old edition codes made like this. Even armies that exist in those days made into old style codex covers.. Awesome vid
Love the throwback. I started kind of during the transition from 2nd to 3rd Edition and my friend had this exact codex and that art work was just awesomely retro and bright.
Amazing job guys!! Deciding to make it look like a book instead of actually being a book was a good choice. Beautiful art and wonderful content, as always!
As someone who played 40k heavily in those early days of Rogue Trader and 2nd edition, and who played Eldar and Tyranids heavily I love this diorama. Makes me wish those days of those wonderul 2nd Edition colorful codex. I miss my old Eldar army.
To do the “book” you just needed the pages to be a little bigger than the box and you remove the size of the box so the pages go around the sides of the box. Then make your covers and spine of the book & what you end up with is the illusion of the diorama is in or emerging from an old codex.
Love that video guys, the new format of one vid a week looks like its really paying off because boy howdy was that an excellent outcome. Plus you guys are looking super adorable in your little sweaters
This is great, that title is awesome! Yeah your struggles with keeping going have given me food for thought and I've realised I am beating my head against the wall with making content, so I am quitting my channel. Hopefully you grow and grow, this channel is a major inspiration and influence on my content over the last few years, so, thank you!
The magazine style book would need to have the gutter adjusted so the inner pages are dimensionally smaller or alternatively look into doing a glue bind like the og codex with a wraparound cover setup. One tip is trim in small batches to maximize consistency.
Really great work all and so glad that you're getting some of the support you all deserve. For future book binding work, I'd recommend looking at perfect binding for that kind of project.
Wow, such a great project! So much good work that the miniatures, that I guess could have filled an entire episode, just got like a minute! Loving this video and project =D
That looks AWESOME!! That is why I adore this channel. You just come up with these banger videos which feature amazing art, skill and talent and just put a smile on my face. Thanks for not giving up on us and for putting effort in making great quality videos 🤍
I absolutely love the artwork and hour project! Eldar was my first 40k army and I've always loved this artwork (even though I started in 5th). Taste the Rainbow!
I don't usually leave comments but this is left me awestruck! Like this is just pure art! This is incredible!! The designs, the paintjobs for the logos and the models and the box and the background just.....WOW! Incredible work :D
Honestly, you guys are keeping the youtube side of this hobby alive. You guys constantly are putting out videos and they are superb! fantastic work you guys, WE NEED A SERIES OF THIS. *edit* i just realised I said " You Guys" 3 times😭
Wow that looks so good! The text and background were painted so beautifully. A future one could be that special edition Sisters codex, with the kneeling Sister. (My favourite codex design)
Jenn, I had to check my player wasn't on 2x speed and you genuinely were just speaking like someone who'd just had some coca cola. Brilliant.
I actually played that first part at 0.5 speed, it seems more normal
Bro fr i legit had to check it was brilliant to make me think i was tripping
You know, when they edit their footage to play at 2x speed, it's gonna be 2x speed even if your youtube playback speed is on normal, right?
You know that right? Or is this a joke that's going over my head.
@@aegrisomniabig whoosh
*taps nose subtlety*
I need a full version of "Bind that Book!" like right now!
Would love to see you guys do more of these, they're so cute 💕
Yes! She did a great job and it’s normal to have to cut the edges to be perfect, I’d love to see the process
I'll just throw out Nerdforge's ua-cam.com/video/bioxZa950vo/v-deo.html Hope it helps.
A series of these would be awesome.
Have fun with the book binding.

Second Ed codexes are pinnacle warhammer book art, love this!

So much coffee she’s reached miniature enlightenment!
I love the old elder, so janky yet at the same time they have some undeniable flair. Great work on bringing them to life.
I love the energy of the Tabletop Crew when they're having fun
I like how you used the retro codexes instead of the newer ones, very cool 👍
I like the fake book idea that Jen painted on in the end, it would be cool to see the diorama box mounted inside a similar proportioned book with a diorama sized hole cut out of the centre as if the diorama is a portal into the world like the inside of the Tardis

Also so cool to see Jenn paint the background, i love the idea so much, you did so great
Beautiful work, taking the effort to sculpt the miniatures for a close resemblance of the retro original, impressive 😮
Fantastic work! There's so many great pieces that you could use this effect on - that iconic Crimson Fists artwork comes to mind
This is amazing guys! Love a diorama!!
Hopefully this can become a semi regular series. So many great codexes out there to replicate.
Also loved hearing my shout out!!
I love this so much. This is by far my favorite 40k Codex as well, and I love this 3D rendition of the cover.
Great job Jenn
As an old Eldar fan, this is my favourite thing you've ever done one the channel. Just so good :) I'd love to see you do one for the 4th Edition Codex Eldar.
I don't know why but the 3d codex title is one of the coolest things I've seen lately !
This is fantastic, love the conversion of the dire avenger exarch, you've done a brilliant job of capturing the look of the codex.
What a great project! So colourful and fun. Also, I love bookbinding so getting a series of that sounds awesome :) I'm so happy you're able to keep going for a while. Never been more glad to support creatives on Patreon. All the best.

Love the throwback. I started kind of during the transition from 2nd to 3rd Edition and my friend had this exact codex and that art work was just awesomely retro and bright.
This is one of the coolest dioramas I've seen. And a super nice homage to the codex that made me an Eldar guy.

What a great idea and you guys executed it perfectly! As someone whose first army was Eldar back in those days, this was lovely to watch.
What a thing of beauty. One of my favorite things you guys have made.

Plus you guys are looking super adorable in your little sweaters
Love this project. Now to do the rest of the Codex's? Or maybe some of the Black Library book covers?
This project was absolutely beautiful, guys. Thank you for sharing this
You've successfully trolled me. In the beginning I legit thought that I had the speed option turned on and went to put it in normal
Absolutely ACE idea! Viva la Table Top Time!
This is amazing, I love the colors! I'm so happy things are slowly looking up, just need to keep doing what needs to be done😊
