    i like the way you explain the factors in sub box making and I just wish you guys had a shop down here in Miami,Fl home of bass.not to many people go through the trouble of doing what you do as a matter of fact i don't know anyone who does what you do for their customers....keep up the good work😆😆.

    Great video! Would you say that a sealed box would hit lower than the 34Hz of your ported box? And, does the amplifier manufacturer make any difference on the SPL?

    Nice video. I would go with sealed over ported. Some of us have to buy groceries, lol. How many subs are in the bass box pro program?

    • @Netaudiowf
      @Netaudiowf  9 років тому

      There are a ton of subs in the program but you can add as many into it as you want.

      How many parameters are required to model a sub? Some subs are poorly documented.

    • @Netaudiowf
      @Netaudiowf  9 років тому

      In basic mode only aroubd 8-10. Expert mode has prob 30 parameters. If you have the main parameters like qes, qtc and qms and xmax and maybe sd then it can estimate most 95% of the other parameters.

    You said +5dB is almost 3 times the volume but I’ve read it takes +10dB for twice the “perceived” volume?

    • @paulmorgan3790
      @paulmorgan3790 3 роки тому

      +3db is double the perceived volume, so 5db is almost 3 times louder at that frequency if compared to it in a sealed box. I've never heard or read 10db, I'd be interested in seeing that article

    Hello Paul. my car is a 2013 Nissan Altima. a fairly common car and I have two 12 alpine type r subs running 550 watts to each sub. I tried a vented enclosure but I realize I am a sound quality type of guy. However at the same time I do not want to suffer to to much in SPL. Any recommendations? If so I'd like to give your boxes a try. I really look forward to hearing back from you as soon as you can respond. Thank you

    Can you design a sub box for a single punch p1 12 inch to go under the rear seat of my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab

    Hi I like your video so what do you think about making fibreglass boxes do you think you'll get the best sound out of a fibreglass box I also like a ported box what do you thinking of fibreglass ported box ?

    • @Netaudiowf
      @Netaudiowf  9 років тому

      Whether the box is wood or fiberglass, all that matters is that it is built strong. If it is strong, then the material it is made out of did it's job to make the box sound good. If the material is weak, too thin of fi erglass or wood, then it will flex and vibrate and that will affect how it sounds.

    I have an 86 Pontiac Fiero GT. Very tough vehicle to get good bass out of.. Will you be doing a Box Design for the trunk luggage section in the rear of the Fiero? Thanks. :)

    • @Netaudiowf
      @Netaudiowf  10 років тому

      In my 15 years of doing this, I've worked on one Fiero, so I don,t have easy access to building one for you. If you were local I would gladly build you a box, but without a car here it will be pretty difficult to, sorry. What city are you in and I may know someone close to you that would be able get you taken care of.

    What box is best for a jl 12w7 sealed or ported? I purchased a ported box from ground shaker at 1.75 cf &36hz

    • @paulmorgan3790
      @paulmorgan3790 4 роки тому

      That's a complicated question. It's not really what is best for the sub, it's really more what is best for you. Sealed will be tighter and punchier, ported boomier but with way more deep bass. There is no magic box that gives you both. If you primarily listen to rap, EDM, anything with a lot of deep bass, then ported will make you happy. If you listen to rock, country, or just a broad mix of everything, then I would tell you to stay sealed so that the bass is more linear as you go from genre to genre.
      What kind of car is this going in?

      @@tjsworld2338 If you listen to a mix of everything, then I would recommend staying with the JL recommended sealed box and just make sure it's fully powered. I think you should be happy with it.

    speakers on sealed box is easy to get busted due to no air that coming through, so therefore i preferred the vented box. pls answer my argument.

    • @Netaudiowf
      @Netaudiowf  7 років тому +3

      Rodolfo Baliga Sorry, but that is not true. speakers can blow in a sealed or ported box both. It all depends on how the amp is tuned. Too much bass boost on a sealed box can push the speaker beyond it's mechanical limits and that can blow ot, but that can easily damage it in a ported box, as well. Just take it easy on the bass boost and turn the gain up to before it distorts and all should be good, no matter the box.

      Rodolfo Baliga he's right... I have a l7 15 in a vented box and it's destroying it... About to build a new one.
