Let's see what these 2 similar SVS subs can do. The PB-3000 and SB-4000 are only $100 apart in price, and they are pretty close in size.
They both have their pros and con but how do they compare?

I have a 12x14 room and have the 7705 and monolith x11 I need dual subs and my budget allows for either 2 svs pb2000 pro or 2 svs sb 3000 I do both movies and music. Wich would you recommend? I have a square room and 8 foot ceiling. Thanks
For a moment there I was lost in the movie totally forgot about the comparison 😁
HAhAHAH!
Best movie ever. Interstellar I mean
Flipping between subs is the ultimate comparison. Well done.
recently went with dual SB4000's and they sound great. still doing some tuning and position testing, but overall really impressed.
Congrats! They’re some really great subs
LOVE the way you do videos! So glad I discovered you!
Love the music at the end. Big up boss review was well done!
Thanks for the video - and nice touch in the wife cameo, she’s a good sport and that’s an important consideration for many.
Shopping SVS subs now. Great comparison. Likewise, excellent editing. I’m sure this took some time to put together! Thank you! I was all set to get the SB3000 today and potentially SB16. Although 16 is more than I want to spend and probably too large for my space. I am now leaning SB4000. 🤷🏻♂️
What did you end up getting for a subwoofer?
@@sauce861 SB16. Ha. I ended up doing a side by side with the SB16 and SB4000. Although, I think the SB4000 sounded great and would’ve been sufficient, I figured “why not?” and went SB16. No regrets, and I’m sure I would’ve been happy with 4000. 16 obviously a little more impactful in movies.
Love that bass intro! Rattled my wife's copper wall decor 😄👍
Omg! My wife is the same EXACT way! I played this for her and she was like - see! someone who thinks the same way I do! Kudos for the video, it was very helpful! Thank you!
I haven't enough scratch for either of those. I'll be looking at 2 pb1000's. Great videos 🤙
Thanks bro for the advice for a subwoofer. I asked you if I needed one and you reply was no but at the same time you said nothing can replace a designated sub. The subwoofer is actually my favorite speakers. I had never owned one and it makes the world of difference. Thanks
Glad I could help. Which did you get??
I prefer more response on transients any day over a bit deeper of bass. Therefore, I definitely prefer the SB-4000.
Great review. They pretty much sound the same,my opinion.
Excellent Video..
Ported SUBS all the way for me though..
Bless Up.. 👊
Can’t go wrong with em
For the executive summary skip to 12:37 :) Great video by the way!
I did a similar comparison with the SVS PB-1000 and SB-2000. The sealed box won hands down, although the ported had more output its slower response made it sound muddy and slightly boomy.
Good to know! The good thing about the 3000 sub is that it has a sealed mode where it sounds tighter and more transient
You're not suppost to do it,but it's possible to seal the PB-1000. It also drops waay lower, even though you can't hear it but i got down to 13 Hz, i cut out a foam piece and plugged it in the port. It was vibrating the shit out of the door to the room i was in and the TV wall mount. Though the PB-2000 is better at most music, If you listen to Decaf/rebassed music then the PB-1000 might be a better option. But most people listen to mainstream music though ;p
I'm pulling the trigger tomorrow on sub so if I listen to you I should get sealed 2000's instead of ported? beside the savings what advantage are you getting from one and the other? I have 1 Martin Logan dynamo 700W sub right now sounds ok but it's too small for my room and never owned a ported sub so can't really tell if I would like that better.
@@tHAvIlLaMaN That gives nothing really... I won't be running around and closing holes every time I'm switching from video to music
I use to build bass boxes when I had a car audio store and whilst everyone wanted maximum bass so ported was the most popular I much preferred sealed for its attack and punch but we did a few with a additional radiator which gave the best of both. Surprised SVS haven’t done any of these.
Listening on AKG headphones PB-300 sealed mode sounds BEST !
SB-4000 all the way! It's smaller, looks better and does not block your right speaker.
No contest sb 4000 all the way. It’s cleaner. It may not be the loudest but the cleanness is key for me.
ported have less distortion.
@@rushgushEhhhh…. No 😂
I have dual PB 3000's. They rock. I would take duals over one single of the next up model.
Nice! Totally agreed
Agree also!!!
How big is the room that you are using them in? Cubic feet? Etc?
Would you take one pb3000 over two pb1000 pro models?
Ported: The immersion! Gave me a very natural feel. The dynamics specially in the very low rumbling parts is evidently superior, making it very realistic.
Sealed: It sounded a notch kickier, but was clinical, constantly firing that gave me the "listening to a speaker" feel.
Thats what tactile transducers are for bro....
Have You heard explosions or car crashes in real life? They are not even close to those in movies. They are loud and fast, unlike Hollywood thinks. So, You meant "more unnatural, as You're used to think explosions are".
I'm kinda partial to the PB-3000 due to the dispersion factor. I listened carerfully. HOWEVER! THE KEY is We all need to state what SUB WE are using on OUR systems to listen to THIS comparison.
Have to admire her stoicism in the presence of that subwoofer royalty. Most of us would be squealing like '60s teenagers around The Beatles.
😄
@@tHAvIlLaMaN hey villaman you gonna review svs new pb2000 pro subwoofers
Excellent work on the editing of this video....
The W.A.F has me thinking about going with duel 3000 micro's versus a single PB-3000. Any thoughts?
I've got an sb 4000.sb 13 ultra. A pb12/2 and a paradigm sub15. I tend to prefer sealed to ported. I used to do huge ported subs all the way around but they are just a pain to move and sell off. The pb 12/2 will be the last refrigerator size sub I own. Just replaced the amp after 13 years. I use it in 20hz mode with my 3 sealed subs. It gets the job done...;)
the 3000 slams! wow!... I have eventually purchased the PB 1000 pro and I got 2 of those. They also slam... very impressed ( Based in South Africa )
I have two seal subwoofers and two ported designs. The seal has a better roll off and has clean bass while the ported has a more boomy/ muddy type of bass. If your pocket can handle it go sealed. Plus everyone has a different type of bass they acquire. I like clean and tight bass. Some like boomy/ loose type of bass.
Great video I just bought the pb3000 I have the svs ultra center as well as the svs ultra towers can’t wait to listen to the pb3000 I run the speakers on a Sony str-za5000es receiver now I just need the satellite svs speakers I do have Sony satellites tho but money is a issue now but in the near future will update. Take care thank you for the great video happy holidays.
Thanks 🤠 for me allways the ported subs :) pb-3000 .. I will test in my home
Love the set up...what type of led back lights do you have? It looks good behind the TV an and speakers...
Don't forget the SB4000 has front control access and the app. I prefer sealed because of the other points you made as well. I have 2 SB13 Ultras and before the the PB13 so I've experienced both.
True. The 3000 series have the control panel on the back but I use the app for both since it’s a LOT more convenient
I have one SB13 Ultra how would you compare it to the HSU VTF-3 MK5 HP?
I read your comment where you said you would get a ported sub over a sealed sub next time. I was thinking about getting the SB4000 but now will look at either the PB3000 or PB4000
Interesting comparison I bought a pair of SB-16 Ultras.
Monsters. Very nice.
Stereo Bass, that's the ticket. Much envy.
Good video. Now, compare the two subs in the same scene ( Without dialogue, Example minute 8:00 ) to feel the differences between sealed vs ported in movies.
Cool video, but was really looking to hear the PB-3000 with the ports open in music.
Already got you covered
ua-cam.com/video/3xBQrw2e95Q/v-deo.html
after listening between sealed and ported, it seem that the voices are more clear with the sealed subwoofer so much detailed too.
appreciate your effort in doing this comparison and try to show the different. but unfortunately i couldnt hear the different from my gear. But i beliee its a good sub. because at least is not boomy or muddy.
what a powerhouse lol love them both
I find with most expensive high end units the sound pretty well all works the same to me. It always ends up to be just esthetics and where I want to place my money.
Great job !!!
I would like you to test some psa subs...
I am all over the place on what SVS Sub to buy but that "everything rattling" with the PB3000 might have just sold me. For some reason the PB 4000 just looks soooo amazing to me, I can't help but want it. I would get one 4000 now, but would take quite some time to obtain another. I could get a dual 3000 slightly quicker......hmmmm.....LOVE your channel.
Bigger is better. The 4000 would be another level
Not really. It has an older driver. It extends deeper but the pb3000 beats the pb4000 higher up the frequency range.
I’m running 4 psw10s ! I can’t imagine 2 or 4 of those bad boys 💪🏽💯💣💣
Had four 15"subs in my ford bronco and when I turned up, Dont know why but the girls liked it.
Loving you Villaman, all the way from Lagos Nigeria 🇳🇬. To these old Nigerian ears, they sound the same.
Very cool comparison, of course over my budget but its nice to see how good these movies sound using higher capacity subs that one can only wish off. My most recent upgrades are dual monolith thx 10's which by no means are low quality subs, at 500wrms 72lbs each they play really loud and really deep. I also re-discovered The Accountant using my using my new set up and all i can say is WOW! When he shoots that .50 bmg at the ranch!! Also that whole last battle scene is on a whole nother level of sound reference quality, definitely one of my new to go demo. Have u tried it out using any of those powerful subs? Might be worth a demo!
Thanks for watching! Sounds like you have a pretty nice setup. Those Monoliths are no joke. I haven’t seen the account in a while, I might have to check it out again.
@@tHAvIlLaMaN yea thanks i really like my new monoliths, and got em at $399 each on sale a few weeks ago, best deal I've ever gotten! So yea the accountant with Ben Affleck, check it out using one or all of ur awesome subs, i guarantee u will have a giant smile on ur face when the action is going on, i saw on Blu-ray so the sound was DTS Master Audio instead of the DD plus that it gets downgraded when streaming it on digital. Love ur videos vilLaMan!
Hi, I got a Polk Audio HTS 12 and plan on getting another one. Would it be better to get one PB-3000? Thank you!
Massive difference in depth and output on the ported sub. However, the sealed sub sounds like its more in control. Try to swap it for a sealed 18"?? Im drawing plans to build my own replica Procella Audio v18 subwoofer. Hopefully should kick ass. Im using dual Klipsch kw120's at mo which are also brilliant.
Hi bro. Please could you tell me which svs subwoofer would be ideal for a room measuring 10 feet by 13 feet in terms of a mini home theatre by the way. Thank you so much in advance.
Sealed SB4-- had more defined sound, less muffled.
I agree. It wasn't as loud as the 3000, but it had less mud in it's sound.
Thats problem with ported subs you look on the forums every shouts go ported but the room gain or the overall loudness below certain hz can just drown out your speakers..... instead of them connecting for everything have weight like surround sounds wbich crictial for dolby atmos music you just have muddy sound from them less localisation for your speakers. I realised room size and integration is key for good sound as well as what the subwoofer does itself but power is only good if both room and your speakers can sync with it otherwise i think sound quality acutally decreases overall.
Dual sb 4000s linked with monitor audio silver 500s, c 350, 4x silver 100s and 280 idc inceiling. Loving pairing both for dolby atmos movies and dolby atmos music. To hear the detail clean speakers put out ported doesnt seem to work just muddies the sound in my room. But give the sb4000 a tiny bumb in the peq at 20hz 2db at a 1.4 curve on medium setting on the nun 4k at the beginning the glass on my doors and the whole room was shaking with dual 4000s so glad svs rather than monolith...... music is unbeatable as well
very nice test i love SVS one of the best Subs..
But can you tell me what for a anime this is??
Using good headphones I noticed a bigger difference in the movie sound between the two subs than with the music. The sealed sub in movies sounds a bit unnatural with the fast stopping and punchiness. The ported sub had a resonating and lasting sound to crashes and roars that sounds more natural to my ears
I bought my pb3000 in March when Corona hit. I loved it at first but the last few months I've used it sealed almost 100 percent for music, with good results. After 2 hurricanes, I decided to watch movies again. I don't know what changed. I hear port chuffing in explosive scenes like the one in The Equalizer 2 with the sub at -10 and recover at -20. I've never noticed this before and I've watched the movie a dozen times. Maybe I missed it, but now I'm paranoid and feel that subtle impacts aren't there and it almost seems boomy (sub seems to be drawing a lot of attention to itself). Maybe the sub moved a few inches and that changed it. I was planning on buying a second one soon but now I'm considering upgrading to the pb4000 before the trade up time is up. Any advice would be appreciated.
Olá. Para meu espaço que mede 4 de largura X 7 de comprimento, qual seria ideal sb4000 ou pb 3000? Uso somente para filmes .
How do you think the SB16 ultra would compare to the PB 3000 for low output ? I do prefer the size of the sealed subs but hope to get close to the output of the ported.
Im in the same boat as this guy
Hey, how big is your room? And was one of either of them enough for your room?
Villa I am very interested to buy the woofers what u shown in video but I need to know that can I use these woofers to Yamaha 1840 hometheater
Nice comparison buddy. I love both da subs. Svs sounds incredible to ma ears. BTW those r pioneer towers designed by Andrew Jones. I couldn't see da center channel. It's that from pioneer as well?
Thanks! Yes my towers are AJ Pioneer Elites and they’re great. My center channel is a B&W. I tried the matching Pioneers and the B&W was just better ua-cam.com/video/SAlyZJjwv20/v-deo.html
@@tHAvIlLaMaN I'm in dilemma. Which towers shall I go for? Pioneer elite, kef q 550, elac debut 2.0 or klipsch reference towers. Plz do suggest me. Thanks.
how about pb-2000 pro vs sb-4000 ultra?, i have pb-2000 pro and thinking to replace it with sealed, don't know if sb4000 will big upgrade, or maybe go over to sb-16 ultra
listening through AudioTechnica MX40 I would say the SB-4000 is more pleasing to the ear with loads of power to spare for both movie and music. Sb-4000 is more composed, accurate and controlled. Can't go wrong with either sub if they weren't compared to each they are so close. Thanks for the comparison.
Anytime. Totally agree btw
I thought that the sb 4000 gave more bass then the pb 3000 gave in the sealed mode.
It does
So do you still prefer the sb4000 over the pb-3000? I feel Sb-4000 can hang with the pb-3000 to a certain degree, but cleaner and a little more smaller.
am thinking of going with either pb3000 or sb4000 but stuck on which one to go with in my dedicated 11 X 19 X 8 HT. My current subs are Klipsch R-112SW and RT-12D.
Your Thoughts..
PM
Paul Mardis my advise would be diy... of course not everyone is up for it. But in my opinion you will save money, and have more/better output
Sir what is name of music on your video starting
Another great video, I have also been looking at the sb-4000, due to the smaller size. I am just worried about not getting that super low end. Would like to go duel sb-4000 piano black to go with my piano black rp-8000’s. You think rocking them duel will be sufficient? Thanks
I wouldn’t worry about the super low end, especially with 2 of these beasts. Room gain will be a factor, so the in-room response will be better than the spec sheet
Ive got 2 and then shake the glass in the room i wouldnt worry
I actually went with 2 pb-3000’s, wow, I feel like my windows are going to blow out.
ThyMercenary how are they I wanna buy for my setup
I first bought 2 pc-2000’s and updated that within the first year for the upgrade program. These 2 pb-3000 literally shake my room and I thought I was going to blow out my windows, lol. They are absolutely awesome. Sorry for delayed response.
I am torn between sb3000,pb 3000 and the sb4000. I have a large open room that has a kitchen and dining room behind the seating area. i am about 15ft from the tv and subwoofer. Thinking about duels but that would be in the future, 80% movies 20% music. front stage is Monitor Audio Silver 8s. Whats your thoughts?
You have a pretty large space that opens up to another space, and based on your usage I’d recommend a ported sub. The SB3000 might not be enough for that space either way
Best subs and Best Wfi !!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need a recalibration myself now.
Have one PB2000 adding a second one. Love your videos. Have a question for you. Can I get away with only two ceiling speakers for ATMOS?
Thanks. Sounds like you’re ready to rumble! 2 ceiling speakers are definitely fine for Atmos
I think he means one in front and one in back, hoping it can play mono and not stereo.I tryed to have one in front one in back ,but it does not work,it will always want to play either right or left,,.@@tHAvIlLaMaN
sweet! how heavy is the 4000?
I must be different than everyone else because I always seem to prefer the sound of a large sealed subwoofer I finally ported one sound muddy and hollow.
You have 2 subwoofer will you....
Thats good dude...!
Sorry if I missed it, but did you do a review on the SB3000? thx
Not yet. I will be making one though!
tHa_vilLaMaN awesome!! looking forward to it!! I am really in need of a sub for my system and I really wish I could get your advice if you get the time:). It would be nice to hear your thoughts on the difference between sb3000 and sb4000! also congrats on your sub count!!
Thanks! Yea, I’ll most likely publish some videos on the subject next week. I’m really looking forward to giving it the time it deserves
This Is a great comparison, but it would have been better if you played the same clip on both subs and not let the clip keep going. Which sub would you prefer out of the 2? What subs do you actually own? I’m debating whether or not I should sale my SB4000 to purchase a PB3000, but I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. Clearly the Pb 3000 has better output, but the sb4000 has more head room.
Cool comparison. Your wife is just like mine. She could really care less one way or another as far as critically listening. She is more likely to object though because of size...which makes a ported sub a possible dog house situation for me...😲
Haha yup. Reminds me of when I wanted to cut holes in the ceiling... had to find ways around the objection! 😆
Size matters 😈
Can you test the Diamondboxx XL?
Thanks for the great review. My HT room is 21x 13 X 10. I am not used to subwoofers, but I love the tender, low base of the old infinity servo woofers.I was turned bw 2 PB 2000s or 2 SB 3000, And after watching your video I am now considering 1 PB 3000 or 1 Sb 4000 instead. Any suggestions?
2 smaller subs will often net you better results than a bigger sub- especially in this case. I’d go with dual PB 2000 pros (since a ported sub can be sealed if need be)
Tha_VillaMan thank you, bunches. For some reason I thought 2 SB 3000 would have been a better selection as they are a bit bigger. I will follow your advice. Thank you, once again.
better to buy one large sub then buy another later down the road
What are the towers you are using?
Best sound comparison I've ever seen, great review! I choose the 4000 for it's control
Worst you mean compare 3000 pb to 4000 pb makes sense
0:27 music or song name?
tHa_vilLaMaN, heyo! You know I love your videos, or at least I hope you know by now. 🤔
Aaaaannnywaaaay... I'd like to see a different video clip for when you caption "comparisons" in your opening sequence. Perhaps a clip of you showing these SB4000 and PB3000? Something minor, but when I read your captions I feel like the others match what I see on screen, maybe you could freshen it up and have a clip of you comparing two components(rather than showing you talking about it, since you've dubbed over your voice with music). Totally something minor, but also something that's been on my mind ever since you created this intro.
Hey, keep up the videos though! I like how different they are, with your editing style and with that sweet new 4K HDR cam you got!
Hey! Haha yea. I agree with you. I had to use that clip because I didn’t really have any other HDR clips of me doing a comparison, so it’s been a placeholder. I really do need to update it now tho. Thanks!!
@@tHAvIlLaMaN also, my wife would give a very similar response. Not to say she doesn't care, but would give the same unenthusiastic answer. 😂 Gotta love the WAF, right?
Can you try the movie War horse. As the horses pulled the tanks up the hill and the cannons start firings you will be amazed
What are your speakers?
Great vid. Didn't see if you used auto routine to let the avr manage frequency response or crossover points. Svs certainly is in the biz of great subs as all models are price point leaders. Have you ever tried Paradigms sub eq system and the results were?
I mentioned how each had a different dB levels after running calibration in the receiver, but I set the crossovers manually after that to 80Hz.
No I haven’t tried a Paradigm sub (yet) unfortunately.
I just lucked into a Paradigm Reference Servo 15A 3 weeks ago. I know it's a little old school, but the original owner I bought if from had barely used it. Still seems like it's just getting broken in, sounds better with every time it turns on. Gets extremely deep, but articulate at the same time. Paradigm is definitely no slouch.
@@stevieG2015 I have two of the Paradigms Sub 25. Still a 15 inch driver but 3 inch travel and 3KW amp 7500 peak. Did have the Servo 15 original but couldn't match the other speakers so it stayed all of 15 years. Cheers Bruce
Right now it's paired up with a set of Energy RC-70's, still doing the adjustments and little tweaks to get it sounding just right. Construction and finished product, Paradigm doesn't have a rival imo. Simply gorgeous in the light cherry finish.
@@stevieG2015 My subs have a difficult job. 3 sets of different fronts to manage. Martin Logan Summit X, Proac Studio 3 and VAF I93 which are a local product. Still haven't finished the HT room but setups going to be fun
Im Mexican, But i think your cool. Thanks for your videos .
Love ur videos and just great editing!!
wanted ur advice as I’m pretty convinced I should bite the bullet and go with duels subwoofers for my HT set up rather than buy one and wait for another. However given my budget I’m really trying not to go above $2k.
So.. would u recommend dual PB2000s or dual SB3000s? Ideally I’d like dual Pb3000 but that’s $700 above my budget. My concern is ported vs sealed compromise if I went with SB3000. Would higher power of SB3000 offset the lack of ports?
Of course can go with one PB3000 but I’d would just sit and wonder what duals would sound like! Just don’t want feel left out of the low end hits in my HT with a sealed sub. My HT room is about 25’x30’
Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
That seems like a pretty large room, so I’d think you’d ideally have dual PB 4000s. Especially if you’ll primarily be watching movies.
The next best thing I think would be 2 PB3000s. I think the SB3000s wouldn’t be enough to really pressurize your room and give you the best HT experience, since it’s so large
tHa_vilLaMaN $$$$!! :(
Yea, I know... SVS has that step up program though where you can trade up your equipment within a year or so. So you could always get the dual SB3000s and see how you like them and if they don’t fit then just trade them in for the PBs
I have 4 subs connected at the same time... lol
I love how you compared them IN THE SAME SPOT which is very important. There's a very popular subwoofer reviewer on here that compared subs but in an A/B test in different spots! Even level matched that isn't a fair comparison!
Yea, I think minimizing the amount of variables is important in any sort of A/B testing. Glad you liked it
The smaller one had a cleaner sound the bigger one has more bass and it’s louder from what I’ve heard in the video so far I’d take the bigger one for the extra bass
On the fence really.I have an 8 foot desk and use kanto yu6 speakers...Not sure which has more bang without being over kill; The sb3000 or sb4000....Any help would be appreciated thanks.
You can always turn the 4000 down a little if it’s too much. Headroom is nice to have if it fits your wallet. And if you move to a larger room in the future you’re covered!
Sir good video sir what a name of music your video intro
Just one more thing to add. A ported sub is super for home cinema, but not all are great with music. Sealed subs are great for music, but not so hot for reproducing that super deep bass.
Those are the very things I tested in the video. I’d say they both do a very good job in both regard. But that being said, your primary use case should be the deciding factor
@@tHAvIlLaMaN I use 2 PB 13 Ultra's. I love the sound! I was thinking about buying 2 PB 16 Ultra's? But here in Europe they cost 3.500 Euro!!!!
First to say nice HDR upload
Thanks! What are you watching it on? I’m curious how it looks on different devices
@@tHAvIlLaMaN looks great on lg v20
+L Beecher great to hear. Thanks for the feedback!
Watching on Galaxy S10E, looks great. I might watch on my tv later to hear these through dual SB16's. 😂
Pb 4000 or sb 16 ultra? Am finding it hard to decide on which one to get.🤔
The ported sub has a sealed mode but will slam more for movies when the ports are open. Choice is clear bit.ly/2S9syeu
Were you streaming the movie or was it a disc? I’m new to the 4K world and between buying 4K movies on iTunes or buy a Blu-ray player and buying discs. I’m not familiar with the differences in quality
I was streaming for this comparison. I’ve done a few comparison that might help you learn more about the differences.
Start with this one: ua-cam.com/video/t2wCeKk-QjA/v-deo.html
I've got my 2 fronts. Would you get a sub before the center speaker?
Yes
nice video
Thanks
Just wanted to ask, which sub can you feel more, the pb-3000 or the sb-4000 I think I would prefer to go with pb-3000 with its ability to do either sealed or ported mode. But it will depend on how well it sounds, and it’s ability to make a user feel the bass.
Hey, what you have decided on? I have a SB2000 but maybe i should have gotten the PB 1000 PRO.
@@AexoeroV I went with dual pb-3000, and I like it, though I still need a better receiver, I’m just waiting until the next set of flagship stuff is released by Denon/Marrantz.
@@Ryand0523 they will release something new this year? I hope yes so that this generation of receivers to be cheaper so that i can afford a Denon X4700H and maybe a power amp hooked to the pre outs. I now have a X2600H in a 5.1.2 setup but i need something better and to step up to 5.2.2
@@AexoeroV I’m not sure, but I am willing to wait for the next flagship, I’m talking at least a 13.2/15.2 set up.
@@Ryand0523 you have a big room i suppose! How many height speakers you want? If i had the space and the money i think i would set up an Auro 3D configuration.
I got a few questions for you. I have a BIG MANCAVE almost 9,000 cu ft. My single Velodyne DEQ-10r subwoofer which has 195 watts RMS and 390 watts dynamic which is placed in one corner does actually pretty good. However, I do not get the heart rumbling, wall shaking like I should for movies, I am mostly into movie watching a little music but not so much, so bass in music I don't really care it its there or not. But movies is a different animal. I am looking into replacing the subwoofer though. I don't like the footprint of the SVS PB 4000 (to DAMN big) and the PB 3000 is a little more tolerable but not to much.
Here is the question. Question about the SVS PC 4000. Do you think that one PC 4000 should take care of the problem, I am thinking this has 1200 watts RMS and 4000 watts peak, at the Minimum power out it still is putting out 6 times the punch of the Velodyne. The PB 4000 is just to damn wide and deep for my liking. But the PC 4000 has a great footing to it. I understand that its like a used glove you get use to it and don't want to change gloves.
I have talked to individuals at SVS doing my homework and research and they are telling me that I should run duels but I don't think its necessary I am thinking its a sells pitch to spend more $$$ lol. I am thinking since the Velodyne does what is does with the minimal watts it does put out ONE bigger sub will do great.
I am also in the process of resetting my Home movie system. I am trying to reset my 7.1 Surround system. I am running a Marantz A/V receiver model SR 6006, 100 watts per channel. I need some help in the speaker settings. the following is what I have set it to. But I am not sure if these are correct. can you help me out and give me the proper settings for the best quality. ......
AIM8 Two In-Ceiling (Speakers)
A/V Receiver / Processor:
Speaker/Subwoofer Crossover Frequency (Hz) 80 Hz

AIM CINEMA ONES (Front)

I am very open minded and keeping all my options open. But I really need help with this situation.
Also I have high frequency hearing loss due to my 20 years in the Military combat tours etc etc. I don't want to lose the rest of my hearing so I am just a little concerned about the subs output. What is your opinion on this.....I look forward to hearing from you.
I just prefer the sealed box. It's a more beautiful bass. Fast and precise at any sound change. And for instrumental music is the best option.
Great review, as always. I too thought that both subs sounded the same, using my headphones. I think the other speakers playing too doesn't give a proper comparison (IMHO). I'd like to see you do another comparison with all of the other speakers off and just the subs being heard. I think that might lend itself to a more accurate review, again IMHO.
Thanks for the feedback. That’s a great idea and I’ll keep it in mind for future videos
Show 👏👏👏👏👏
No Fs given from the wifey. Lol
😆
Some good women still exist
Damn. My wife complains if there isn't enough bass
Many of us men are still subordinates of the "Wifey". I mean, I'm not a rug, but I certainly want her to be happy.
Was considering the 3000, but maybe the 4000 makes more sense.
