Raidō Kuzunoha they are. Platforming master pieces. I’ve been playing the games since they came out for snes. Diddy Kong’s Quest is the best, but tropical freeze and returns are better than DKC and DKC3. Without a doubt.
@@ryubelmont2259 In my opinion of Tropical Freeze- to answer your question of why so harsh The Good 1. The graphics Well done. Not cutting edge but it's the best a Donkey Kong has ever looked. 2. The Aesthetics The colour palletes and amount of brightness and other similar things are well done. 3. The Music This is good and bad. I'll mention the good here and the bad below. The music in isolation is mostly well done. It's not amazing by any stretch but it's alright. Fun tunes to listen to while playing the game. Though they do not stand out enough to warrant playing them outside the game. The Bad 1. Gameplay. DK along with all of his helper buddies are so hard to control. Trying to jump and move accurately which is required for many of the tougher platforming is just not possible without much frustration. This forced me to use Funky Kong for most of the game. I don't need the extra hearts or spike immunity I just need the double jump to get anywhere. His single jump is just as terrible as DK's one is. 2. The controls. Overall they work but some of the choices are really bad. Like requiring L or R held to hold on to a vine. Just not required and makes the overall game harder to play. Also it's not easy to run and not easy to manage the height of your jumps. This is evident on the mine cart as an example. It's hard to get the right hights you need for each jump. I just play with Funky, avoid all the spikes and kill myself when I lose as many hearts as would be a death in the WiiU classic mode. So I make the game as hard as it was on WiiU but with a character that plays at least semi decently. 3, The bonus areas. There is just a few of them, they all have the same look and just repeat over and over. The SNES DKC2 and DKC3 had bonus stages, all unique and all specifically designed to fit the theme of the stage they were in. So well done there on the SNES. A shame Tropical Freeze did not do this better. Also you can't re-try a bonus stage in a level without dying or exiting the level first. Something you could do in DKC 2 and 3 for most of the bonus stages. 4. Difficulty Curve. The SNES games gave you at most 2 hits at any one time then you're dead. They had frequent checkpoints so you could not brute force your way through any part of the game. You had to slowly get better and better at each section to make the next checkpoint barrel. Tropical Freeze also has checkpoints but they are not used at all well. 5. No world map to connect the smaller individual island maps. 6. Reused elements in the game. For example, in the beehive stage, the bees just hold grass for you to hold on to. There's no need to reuse the grass for this. It also breaks the aesthetic the stage is aiming to capture. Something like sticky bees was or honey would have fit in way better. In a few other stages this occurs as well. The developers chose existing assets to get the job done, instead of making new assets to better fit the theme of a particular stage. 7. The Music In the SNES trilogy the music fit the theme of the stage it was being played in. So much so you could listen ot the music outside the game and get a rough feel of the stage by the music alone. In Tropical Freeze this is not the case. For most of the game the music doesn't fit at all. A good example is the bee hive stages. Both DKC2 and TF have them. In DKC2 the music sounded like you were in a hive of bees and the d beat tried to simulate the beating of the bees wings. in TF the music doesn't even feel like your in a bee hive. Also fro a game called Tropical Freeze there is no really snowy or icy themed music. DKC2's In a Snow Bound Land or DKC3's Frosty Frolics really sounded like a cold wintery place. Even DKC1's Ice Cave Chant though far from perfect is more Snow/ice feeling than the TF music. DKC1's music is more ambient and not as good as the later two games but even there they tried to fit the music to the theme of the stage with varing degrees of success. Did they even try this in TF? Either they didn't try or they totally failed in doing so.

I've heard there will be a new 3D DK game. I'm not really a fan of official game remakes but this has been a personal exception. I really love the DKC series and DKC2 brought a whole nostalgia boat to a place I didn't remember it existed until I heard Stickerbush Symphony after a decade. As I know, DKC is not only a platformer, but an artistic game. The backgrounds, the areas, the innovation in each level, the mechanics and, well, the OSTs. If nintendo were to make a remake of a DKC game, It has to be DKC2, and I can't just imagine how beautiful would it be to let David Wise Create more musical pieces resembling the old times, now with more options to cover. If they let D.W. free on the soundtrack once again, my heart would be inmensely warmed.

The Good
1. The graphics
Well done. Not cutting edge but it's the best a Donkey Kong has ever looked.
2. The Aesthetics
The colour palletes and amount of brightness and other similar things are well done.
3. The Music

It is a friday afternoon in 1996. I get home from school. My older brother and his best friend are already home playing. As I go up the stairs I hear the theme song of this level swell up as I get closer. These are my happiest days...but I don't know that.
:.)
Is it weird if I say that this makes me so emotional? Combine the game + the songs = a GEM.
It makes me emotional too. Something about the sound effects and the tone of the music. Reminds me of much simpler times...
SAME bro.
That's 100% me
This art style is EXACTLY how this should be remade.
So Beautiful
Sirloin !!

Amazing and beautiful work. Looks like an official remastered version.
Yes! Beautiful 😍❤👍
They need to do this for the switch. A hd trilogy
agreed. I'd re-buy this & play it so much!
It's possible! Microsoft has been on very good terms with Nintendo lately.
@@chadwarden1179 Microsoft own rare though, and every character apart from Donkey Kong is a Rare creation.
@@DabDabGoose Rare lost the rights to the Donkey Kong franchise when they were sold to MIcrosoft.
@@stitch62651 yes, but the characters they made are owned by them, I believe they have licenced them back for nintendo in the latest DK games though so it's not an issue.
this makes me happy and sad at the sametime
The nostalgia is strong 😭😭 I know.
Me too 😥😍
Unbelievable!
Why Don't We reference I got you.
The graphics, gameplay and music are glorious!
This is how I pictured the DK remakes looking. Love your work!
Perfect! Love top😍😍
Too*
It's fake. This is just an animation the creator made as a "what-if" kind of thing.
Beautiful work! A HD remake is something nintendo really needs to look into for the switch.
Oh, and I'd love to see you recreate mine cart carnage from DKC1
Yes Mine Cart Carnage please
Definitely not. This game should not be remade.
@Michael Kevin Millet No. The games are owned by Nintendo.
@Michael Kevin Millet Rare didn't create Donkey Kong. DKC, Donkey Kong 64, StarFox Adventures and all other Rare games that are based on Characters created by Nintendo are still owned by them.
@Michael Kevin Millet The DKC Trilogy has been rereleased on both Wii and Wii U
Dude the music just makes me cry tears of nostalgia, the calming music with the dangers that are obviously in front of you, one slip and its panic mode , oh... god Rareware
I remember this level as being one of the hardest levels to beat overall looks sick HD and needs to be released
I wish someone could turn this into a real game. You really nailed the art style in this HD Remake video man.
Gosh, I can never resist tearing up hearing this theme. It's so majestic, our feelings nostalgia must be exacerbated by the fact that this was one of the hardest levels and it took me the longest to pass for the first time.
For a second I didn't recognize this as a old game level in hd because of how beautiful it is! This is epic.
This looks amazing hopefully they make this game in HD. This is my favorite game of all time. Great job who ever made this HD remake.
Such a great game. The best
You made a completely crisp version of that level, AND you preserved the original feeling of the game in almost every way!
I come back to this video every once in a while and still get a sense of nostalgia mixed with a bit of disappointment when I see this isn't there while product. I love this being so accurate and the amount of work that must have gone to do this.
Just play it again on the SNES or SNES Classic. Within seconds you forget the inferiour graphics, the gameplay of the DK trilogy still stands today 🙌
@@Reb3nga I prefer the old graphics tbh even tho this is freaking superb work
I've heard there will be a new 3D DK game.
If they let D.W. free on the soundtrack once again, my heart would be inmensely warmed.
crazy coincidence I just found your Stickerbush video from 2017 and you just posted this. I need this as a game right..... now .........
I know right

Not only are the visuals beautiful, you picked the best remix of the song! Amazing work. Especially Diddy’s rap at the end... looked incredible.
Nostalgia 😍
This would sell much more than DKC Returns and Tropical Freeze together.
Out of all the games music from this game is my absolute favorite so good
Definitely one of my favorites of all the games I played. Looks great remastered.
I love how even all the old sound effects are there. I missed the old style sound effects, DKC Tropical Freeze didn't feel right without them.
"¡Brutal!".
Lo mismo digo
How to make a sht ton of money, Nintendo: remaster DKC series with the help of this guy.
The animations and little quirks are all there. It's so accurate it looks like a skin...Holy crap good work. p.s. you earned a sub.
Pesquisa no UA-cam Donkey Kong Country 4 Retorna Kong's. As demos lançadas são impressionantes. Siga-o na Fanpage e encontre-o com a DKC4 TEAM.
DK 1,2, and 3 remakes in the works? I hope
This music brings me tears of nostalgia !!! Hard to rewatch this again!!! Beautiful remake please make a downloadable version for us players!!!
My name is.. NINOOOOO!
amazing work
Everytime I watch this I’m just crying both on the outside and on the inside just TBH we literally need a TRILOGY REMASTER
This remastered soundtrack version almost made me cry remembering me the good moments from my childhood. Thanks! :')
This is one of the best ever
Came for the music. Stayed for the graphics.
Wow. You really nailed the physics. Good job
Talk about nostalgia. One of the best games of my childhood for sure
oh my god , you did something i actually couldnt imagine was possible , this is something real special bud
This game does not need an HD remake. It's perfect how it is.
Dude, just... Wow. Thank you for this, I'm grateful. You made my eyes teary.
OMG!!!! This is incredible!!! You need to ask Nintendo to publish this or something, it's so well done!!! You are just such an amazing person, I'm crying so hard right now!!!

Thank you for sharing this with us! Nintendo would likely get more sales from a DK1 and 2 remake than a brand new, separate DK adventure.
I don’t know why Nintendo just couldn’t hire a UA-camr to help remake a classic game; it’s almost free money at that point
Please Nintendo! Make this real! Zelda and Metroid have gotten Bomb AF Remakes, it's high time you did the same with DKC!
We have donkey kong country returns

Best snes game of all time and the level is almost identical 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hands down one of the greatest video game scores of all time, and this, one of its greatest levels!
This is so good man, love it
I wish that the soundtracks of today's remakes where as beautiful as this one. It has exactly what today's music lacks. Balance.
Nah u just have nostalgia ears
I remember where i was and who i was with when i first played this level. Easy one of my favorite games of all time. Fantastic work here.
WHY CAN'T THIS BE REAL
Nintendo hates their fans.
thank god its not real though. its making me want to claw my eyes out
Cause Nintendo don't care... Where is Chrono Trigger 2? Where is Super Mario RPG 2? Where is the Kremlings in new Donkey Kong? Where? Where? Where?
Many peoples says, Chrono Cross exist, but Chrono Cross is not Chrono Trigger 2, many peoples says Paper Mario exist, Mario & Luigi Saga exist, but all this never be a Super Mario RPG continues, and for last, King K Rool is a character in new Super Smash Bros, but who cares? Everybody wants the Kremlings in the new Donkey Kong
I'm brazilian, and I love Nintendo, but all this is frustrating
Gorgo the Orc copyright claims.
"Note: I am not making a fan game, and I am not releasing anything playable. I only make videos. Don't ask for download links, because it's not ever happening.

OOOOOOH, this HAVE to happen!!!!!!
OKAY, I THOUGHT THE MUSIC WAS FINE AT FIRST, BUT THEN THE DRUMS CAME IN?!?!?! Love it, and the way this looks is so seamless and can definitely work as a game for the Switch!
Omg I love these textures its definately worth a team project and would be marvelous on another platform like the nintendo switch. And I'am a donkey kong fan personally.

I remember this level being a struggle when I played it for the first time as a young child lol. Love the new look and sound. Wish Nintendo would just remaster and re-release all three of the donkey Kong SNES titles

Bro this is awesome! Keep it up, i hope this is an engine right now? Last time i saw something like this it was only animation. Im sure Nintendo would be interested in a remake for switch!
It's too perfect, like it's completely devoid of atmosphere and life.
agreed.
For next time, you could remake "pirate panic" the first gangplank galleon level in dkc2; or even a boss like Kleever or very gnawty from the first game. Anyway, great job doing this.
