I will never not find it funny that one of the most complex, varied, and atmospheric video game soundtracks of all time comes not from an epic RPG or plot-heavy adventure, but a platformer about a pair of monkeys fighting alligator pirates. A great rearrangement of a legendary soundtrack.
I know right, if you listened to this without knowing any of the context, you would just assume it's from some epic pirate movie - not a decades old game about monkeys jumping on crocodiles.
This is actually so good it hurts. I've loved this game and its soundtrack since the day it came out. What you've done here means more to me than you will ever realize. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for this.
Are you kidding me with this? This is phenomenal. The original tracks were already great, but these orchestral compositions manage to have their own unique identity while preserving the soul of the originals perfectly. Well done.
Forest Interlude and Stickerbrush Symphony are two of the songs that most marked my life, I'm here moved by their version, in tears as I write this comment. Thank you for that!
Lockjaw's Saga was one of my favorite tracks from the original game. On first play, this rendition started off a little slow and different for me, and I wasn't sure how to feel. ... but then THOSE DRUMS hit for the first time.... Every hair on my body stood on-end. A flood of nostalgia and excitement pulsed through my very soul. Such a faithful rendition of the original with added flair in all the right places. This was AMAZING, perfectly done!!
Why is this getting recommanded to me now? I haven't watch anything DKC2 related in month, the video is not recent, it doesn't have an incredible ammount of views...weird. Oh well, even I don't understand it, I'm glad it happened.

Oh my heavens! From the bottom of my heart I thank you for this tribute to an entire generation who played this masterpiece. This is beyond words, it's impossible to hold a tear, nothing moves a heart than a great childhood memory turned into something this amazing.
Listening to the first 10 minutes, I was so happy thinking that some symphony out there actually played all of this at some concert, wishing that I could have attended....and then I read the description...and it's SOME PERSON?!?! Fucking FANTASTIC!
As a 5 year old in 1995 when this game released, I remember my brothers and I got this game for Christmas that year and we immediately started playing it. DKC2 was, is, and always will be my favorite game in the DK series. The different world themes, and especially the soundtrack are what make this game so special to me. Thank you for bringing this bit of nostalgia into my day.
Mr. Zimmermann. You made it. You can't imagine what this game means to me. It's not just my childhood, it's my everything. You took the best part of the game, the soundtrack, created by the one and only, the legend, David Wise, and you elevated it to another realm. Listening to this was something I needed so much right now. Amazing job. Simply outstanding. The tears in my eyes are tears of pure joy. Thank you so much.

I only just found this but this is glorious. As one of the best, if not the best 2D platformer and one of the pinnacles of original Rare ingenuity, this truly showcases what David Wise did on the 16 bit console.
Snakey Chantey is my favourite track because of two reasons: It captures the essence of the first DKC game soundtrack so well and second it makes me feel nostalgic! But the entire video in it's entire is amazing! This game and it's soundtrack will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for all your effort!
@@BenZimmermannMusic What is your next project? Is the first DKC game soundtrack up next for a symphony remaster? I bet you can make it sound just as epic as this one!

Ben, I love the music! If you’re ever interested in Klomp’s Romp, you can replicate the creaking noise with just a wooden ruler and a desk. Slap the ruler, most of it hanging off the edge, while holding one end on the desk and slowly slide the rest of it onto the desk, you’ll get the same noise!
