I actually use that same kind of practice for cello and classical music. I call it “additive method”. It works on every instrument, I’ve used on flute and sax before. Break down bars into beats. Another way is to group notes per position. Practice fragment A up to speed, then B. Practice the connection between A to B, and if that involves a position shift, practice the shift alone (or the end of a fragment connected to the beginning of the next). Then finally practice A+B. Proceed to learn C, put B and C together. The ABC. Then learn D. Then CD. Then BCD. Then you have one bar. Then learn another one bar, join both together... Yet another good trick is to learn songs from the end and go backwards, instead of starting from the beginning. This way when you play you will be more comfortable towards the end, and this helps you avoiding tension build up during performance. With time and patience you will have the whole piece. Another piece of information is that your fragments don’t have to be all the same size. There are blocks that are easy and you can just learn them as a whole. Or sometimes there will be several technical difficulties in just a few notes and you need to learn note by note. I try to “take bites of a size I can chew”. Finally: take breaks, never practice over one hour without stopping a few minutes. And alternate between different pieces and exercises within that time so you don’t get stressed. You won’t build that whole lick at full speed on the first practice session! There’s no point in torturing yourself. At best you will be able to play the whole lick slowly, or small fragments at full speed. The brain needs rest, pauses, and SLEEP to learn!

Hey Kiko....I Don't know how to thank you.... But I am very very very grateful to you and I've learned a lot from your lessons and advises.... Please don’t stop this! Thank you
Love this tutorial....You are quite right Kiko, the other day I was practicing some Maiden´s bass stuff and,as a mother, I don´t have same time to practice as my son does...So most of times, in the urgency and need and anxiety of playing...I pick my bass and play on the flight, to say, with him..But in the end I have kinda sour feeling because I know I didn' t do my best--- But some time ago, I began to make some kind of practicing, by putting the song into peaces and trying to learn each in detail m as you are showing here to us.. And that is the best way, because I've found you not only are training muscle memory, grat for ear training, as well, and...learning the song practically by heart , which is for me the main difficulty I have...And it really works!! Either for bass , for guitar or whatever, this is a great way and method really! Thanks a lot...! Nice that you help with the diapers!! =)
Valeu!

That's probably because Angra became a progressive symphonic metal band rather than just a power metal band. They have so many different sounds, instruments, and time signatures to be only considered a typical power metal band.
Good info. I haven't picked up my guitar in almost a year and I am rusty as hell. Kiko just gave me some finger exercises to help me get my chops back. Thanks Kiko.
What is really funny is that, before seeing this, I exactly followed the same path today, working on this solo , and beginning really slowly from 100 bpm to 150bpm. I was also thought that I practice less and less for I have 3 kids 😁. It’s like this video is exactly the story of my day ...
I'm glad I've just naturally picked this up over the years, and haven't had anyone tell me I need to do it. Feels good to know you've been headed in the right direction.

Sempre treinando e evoluindo. Valeu!!

There are blocks that are easy and you can just learn them as a whole. tão bom ver artistas que nem vc e o aquiles mostrando coisas pessoais, como rotina, como estudam, dificuldades em algumas musicas.. quem é fã curte, vcs tão sendo pioneiros nessa porra kk.. se bem que o dt já mostrava a produção do cd todo bem antes, mas o caminho é bem esse. O povo agradece.
Hey Kiko....I Don't know how to thank you.... But I am very very very grateful to you and I've learned a lot from your lessons and advises.... Please don’t stop this! Thank you
Love this tutorial....You are quite right Kiko, the other day I was practicing some Maiden´s bass stuff and,as a mother, I don´t have same time to practice as my son does...So most of times, in the urgency and need and anxiety of playing...I pick my bass and play on the flight, to say, with him..But in the end I have kinda sour feeling because I know I didn' t do my best---
But some time ago, I began to make some kind of practicing, by putting the song into peaces and trying to learn each in detail m as you are showing here to us..
"Be prepared,so when you play, you just enjoy the playing, and not be dissapointed...!!!" Great point!
Valeu!
O que mais me deixa feliz é entender o ingles dele kkkkkkkk me sinto fluente ate
SIM KKKKK
Eu me sinto exatamente assim.
🤣🤣🤣
Maestro gracias exelente tutorial
Angra s Temple of Shadow turned me into a Power Metal Fan i hated that Genre before. Heard the Album like 50 Times.
Do a diaper tutorial! ;)
Cobain 92 kkkkk
you would be impressed...
@@kikoloureiroofficial I hope so!
with one hand.
Or perhaps be banished by femministes, nowadays , everything is possible...XD
one of the best guitar lessons ive seen, this is for every level of guitar player, not just a god like this guy. use the same practice techniques as he described for any lick you want to play.
Que grande, Kiko!!! 👏👏👏👍👍👍
Sempre treinando e evoluindo. Valeu!!
Thanks for the advice, last one about practicing before getting dissapointed was really good!!
Força, Kiko. Estamos com você. Você vai sair dessa.
Ficou top aquele UTC.😁😁😁
Eu curti kkk
Kiko your pronunciation is just perfect i normally need subtitles but i can understand all what you say, thankss!!!!!
That Ibanez guitar has a beautiful sound. I have never heard an Ibanez sound like that before.
Very nice tone sir!!
Reminds me of my explorer!
what are you talking about, all guitars sound pretty much the same
@@Rilex037 You're obviously lost
@@KingPete1st no , you are. through distortion all guitars sound the same;
@@Rilex037 Type of wood, shape of guitar, pickups all influence the way a guitar sounds. How can you say all guitars sound the same, are you deaf?
@@Rilex037 Go listen to megadeth first, then go listen pantera. You're not gonna tell me the guitars sounds the same -_-
You are great Kiko, thank you for sharing your talent I hope God bless you always.
O Kiko achando o próprio solo difícil imagina pra nós kkkkkkk
Sim KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Melhor guitarrista do Brasil !
I had to change my diaper trying to play your solo...
LOL
Underrated
Winner!
Eh you just suck
your comment cracked me up🤣🤣
I watched you live when I was in the Navy back in 2016... It was awesome to see what was basically a private concert a block away from my house.
He is practicing, but he is also playing the Walking dead intro.
Igualzinho kkkkkk
Kiko, you are amazing guitar player and excellent teacher.
I wish you post more tutorials on how to improvise on guitar, how to know the key and other musical theory.
Thanks and much love from Israel.
Oh wow! Thanks for the English. My auto translate makes it look like you’re speaking gibberish! Much love from here in Texas!
But if you're from the South, you should be used to gibberish.
OH SNAP!
Are u lost with his accent? :D
@@BbXxQQ no he's saying UA-cam's auto subtitles are lost with Kiko's accent
@@tobyhall8048 Either way, why does he need auto subtitles? Kiko's speaking is clear :)
@@BbXxQQ I agree, it's great. I think he means thanks for doing such good English videos because you tube can't handle the subtitles in Kiko's Portuguese videos.
Thank you kiko for the awesome tips!
I definitely run into the problem of being disappointed when I can’t play something and immediately quit.
Most great guitarists start as amateurs and eventually become masters.
I’m definitely mediocre right now but I’m trying my best!
If I made 1 dollar for each note played on this video, I could buy Microsoft tomorrow.
I honestly just started watching this guy, I didn't want to like him because I was such a Friedman fan, but this guy is sick, and better than freidman to be honest.
He's way more clean and technical than Friedman but Friedman writes better in my opinion. Kiko more skill, Friedman better writing
mikepshena check Angra... To me kiko is the better writer.
@@johannlop1076 I'm very familiar with Angra
what are you guys talking about? yes, Kiko is God, but Friedman is the God of Gods, I'm kinda fanboy tbh xD
mikepshena I guess it’s a matter of perception but to me kiko’s solos are way way more interesting...
Kiko is not only a top notch guitarist (one of my top 20guitarists, I believe)and a class act, but also a super nice and humble, down-to-earth guy!
Grandioso!.
