    I don't see why you need an 'extra' module to convert v-trig to s-trig, won't the esp do that? If I'm right you might want to try using the modulation generator (lfo) as a trigger. Even if you turn an lfo up to audio rates, with the right waveform it will generate triggers. If your envelope generators can respond fast enough, triggers at audio rates can produce a sort of bit crushing effect. But then you'd be stuck with a drone, so there's a better way of getting the bitcrushing effect with the K2, using the esp with the sample & hold to 'crush' the signal coming from the output, and that way your EGs will be free to do something other than drone. But then your esp won't be free to convert v-trig to s-trig and then you really would need that 'extra' module to do so.

      Thanks !!! Oh, you will love the next stage.
      The next is taking a synth, whatever Minilogue, K-2, Deepmins etc, but only one. Making 4 or 5 patches and fit them in a one minute track.
      The idea is to practice creating patches for different genres, but I don't like to randomly create patches, you can find a lot of that on the web. I create the whole patch with you on the screen, one by one, but having a musical context and then, punch in, automate and finish the one minute track.
      So is basically, producing a one minute song with one synth. I making the tracks right now :)

    Excellent video, thank you. The MS20 architecture is a genius design of a synthesiser. A really good example of compact complexity. I have the older and the mini and now the K-2 version which is astonishingly good with a really good vintage mojo.

      Thanks for the comment !! The MS20 is one of my favourite synths in life, if not my favourite. It has attitude and grit, I had the mini, loved it but then the FS came out and had to have that one, so changed it for the FS.

    Hey I just found you while researching the V-trig to S trig situation . I have a K2 and have been thinking of euro racking it with other synths and modules. now , I'm not sure I want to rack the K2. I really thought I could have it mixed with a lot of other synths but now it seems like a real pain in the ass. for the cost of getting it to work, I may as well just get another synth like Neutron . but I keep reading about the Neutron Mk II and I want to wait for that. such decisions. Any thoughts on racking up on the K2? and also, even though I just jumped to the S trig part, I can see that you are really thorough and I'll be watching all your vids and maybe do the patreon. thanks for making these vids. OH ya, I found some links with the S to V and V to S cables. any thoughts?

    I had an MS 20 in the 90s and back then it was the greatest thing, now got the K 2 and having some experience with eurorack was quite disappointed by the patchbay (i did not remember from back all those years) - almost everything i wanted to patch was not possible. Take for example the Behringer Neutron, Inputs and Outputs for every module lets you do a lot of stuff - not sure why they made this rather weird and very limiting patchbay back when designing the MS-20.

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 роки тому +5

      i don't know, never had the original, just played it. I've got a MS-20 FS which on theory is a replica and .... i haven't got any issues making the sound I want with the K2. But well, agree to disagree :)

    • @PeaceDub
      @PeaceDub Рік тому +1

      They wanted to do the K2 as close as the original as possible and both K2 and the old MS-20 is not Eurorack compatible either as they have different voltages. K-2 is a very good clone and you can even switch between the both different filters

      Great K2 videos!!!
      I own both a ms20 and now a K2. How do I patch the K2 to Total to control how much pitchbend will assigned to the pitchbend wheel?
      As it is, it's just a whole step which is what I really rock. But on the ms20 I can patch it in a way that I can turn a knob to change the range of the pitchbend. If anyone knows the answer, it's you. Thanks for all your help.:)
