Request, sorry if I missed it in a video, can you do a cold comparison? Where I live it routinely gets to be -30F at night so cold starts are crazy. The lithium packs definitely have a harder time in the cold. Ultimate test would be cold engine and cold battery pack, but understandably it might be hard to get a super cold engine.
Sometimes on long outings I can't take the jump pack with me to keep it warm, so I have to leave it in the car. So far my battery has been doing well in the cold, but having one of these as backup would be a great stress relief.

Not to mention, you read and respond to nearly %100 of your viewers who comment and note their suggestions to help make the videos even better. This my friend is what UA-cam was made for. The dedication and time you take out of your day to upload informational content for people you've never met is quite astonishing. Very thorough reviews. Great job! One additional thing that I would love for you to test is to fully charge all of them and put them away for 1-3 months, then see how they work without topping off. This would simulate a very important use case for those who throw them in the trunk and expect them to work at an unexpected time. Some models (like the early Tacklife models) have a mechanical on-off switch that physically disconnects the batteries during storage. In theory, this might reduce the rate of discharge vs. an electronic pushbutton (which always bleeds off a little juice even when turned off). All batteries have some level of self-discharge, so it's a question of whether the physical on-off button makes a significant difference, or is it negligible.

I do the 3 month thing with my Shumacher Lithium Ion pack now. Have for 3-4 years. 3 months is no issue for a good unit. 6 months really either, stored in my trunk or floorboard. Start your rig/car/truck and and as soon as you are up and running you just recharge your battery pack for next time. I doubt 3-6 months storage for the GooLoo will be any harder than on my current 4 yr old Shumacher. Probably easier with new technology. I paid $80 for my Shumaker, 4 years ago, so about same price re: current vs old dollars. Gotta trust Project Farm. Better testing than I could ever do.

I bought a NOCO GB40 after watching several videos on YT a couple of years ago. They've been in business since 1914. It hasn't failed to start our vehicles within 3-4 seconds. One of the best things about these jump starters is you don't have to jockey a second vehicle within battery cable distance to start your vehicle. If I ever need to start a vehicle without a battery, it will do it. Great video. Solid gold info. Thanks, Todd!

My buddy and I both bought the Gooloo 4000A based on your review and we BOTH had an opportunity to use them within a couple months of buying them. He helped a coworker whose battery died in their parking lot (and caused that person to go buy another Gooloo). My car didn't completely shut off one day in the parking ramp (that's a "thing" now with some push button start vehicles, it seems) and drained the battery. Getting another vehicle in there to jump start would have been really challenging as the ramp was packed and busy that day. I whipped out my Gooloo, attached it to the terminals and my car started like I'd just installed a brand new battery! And it still had all 4 bars of charge!
I was really singing your praises that day. When my car jumped to life using that little thing I was so impressed and happy.

Too bad their products don't last - mine died within a year after only one use - just avoid it & buy the NOCO - I know it seems expensive but it lasts longer than a few months and one use. A lot of mechanics I know have NOCO and use them every day. I was hugely skeptical given it's a lot more $$$ and bought a Gooloo instead - a total waste of money. I think the difference is the quality of the charge regulation, the Gooloo just overcharges itself and dies.

Hello “Project Farm” from S.C. USA! I’ve been a subscriber for a long time and usually I’m not much of a commenter but, I just wanted You to know what a great service you provide. You do EXCELLENT work with your truly unbiased “Real World” testing methods. I never miss an episode. I’m always impressed with your mannerisms and by the way you get to the real world FACTS fast without all the boring, unnecessary info that most other Channels of this type seem to do.
Also, I really like the bar graphs that you supply, they are very easy to understand at a glance. I’ve grown to trust you, as if we were real life friends. Now, whenever I need to buy some new product, I turn to your channel FIRST over “Consumer Reports” and any other type channel/website. Keep up the great work and thank you for all that you do! I was most impressed with the cranking ability of the Tacklife unit. Turned over the diesel tractor as well as the other vehicle both with a very strong spin. Perhaps it's time to give up my other 2 Chinesium "PCT Brands - CHARGEIT Jump Deluxe Total Emergency Kit" (the only thing "Emergency" about them was the flashlight providing a 3 dot [short], 3 dash [long], 3 dot [short] SOS flash with the flashlight, as both of the air pumps for tires failed on the very first use, so not even a low tire Emergency is covered by them). But they have started a Chevy diesel V8, then a 427 69 Stingray, then a Subaru Outback XT Limited (so with the WRX STi turbocharged engine) before having to be recharged. But the turning power of that Tacklife was darn impressive!

Manufactures can lie about ratings all they want because they know 95%+ won't put their product through extensive testing like this guy. Great channel!

@@gr8dvd I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure -40c is -40F. It's weird cause at 40 it's the same, but any more or less it's different. wtf? Don't matter, 2PHUCKING COLD. I loved snow as a kid. 40 years later of logging and oil and gas work, not so much. Now we have clothes that stay warm and I've not tried them but that's what I'd do if I was in cold again. I had battery socks that took 2 C batteries that strapped to your knee. Heavy and not comfortable at all. All that for 4 hours maybe. And wet socks small shock. No thanks. Use your brains kids. You can stay warm inside and make much more.

@@lipsee100 even conscious manufacturers have to have an acceptable AQL rate, for most companies this acceptable failure rate is somewhere around 2.5%. Sure you can drive this number lower with in house manufacturering, stricter quality controls, and longer testing of every product before it's shipped out but it's a balancing trick which if done wrong will drive up the price outside your intended purchaser market. The bigger indicator of if a product has a major defect is if there are many reviews of failures and there are some reviews of failures of these jumpers but the reviews are vastly outnumbered by the positive reviews.

Fantastic video as always. I definitely planning on getting either the Imazing or Gooloo for my sister for Christmas. Something that will make sure that she never get's stranded. :)
I know other people have already said it, but so many of us appreciate these videos. Something can have 4.8 stars on Amazon, but you never really know if all those are real, or fake, or just people who are just happy with whatever. Testimonials are so subjective. I have an engineering mindset and really appreciate all the time and effort and care you take to make all of these reviews as consistent and accurate as possible.

Thank you for doing these reviews, one thing I'd love to see in this one, (though it might be a little work on your part) is a measurement of the RPM logged over time when you are cranking these engines. You could then overlay the data in a graph displaying RPM vs Time, so we could easily see which cranked the fastest vs which cranked the longest.
A metric that I think would be very nice to see is which had the largest area under the curve. This would provide a nice display of total amount energy put into cranking, we might find out the winner wasn't the fastest or the longest but a good balance of both.
I am an electrical/software engineer myself and happy to offer my help free of charge if you'd ever like it to improve these videos even more. I think you are doing an absolutely fantastic job though and thank you for doing it

The Gooloo is pretty good I have one little different design but it can jump start like any vehicle with only like 20% battery life left it’s amazing how well it works. I’ve used it on many vehicles and it works even on the biggest diesel truck I’ve tested as well.

I have a good story: Because of your last tests, I equipped all 4 of my vehicles with the Goo Loo 3000 jump starters. I believe the 2000 won your shootout. They use top shelf Lithium Polymer batteries instead of Lithium Ion. Iron are junk. Polymer has the highest energy density of all of them by a long shot. Another advantage of LI PO is they hold their charge almost forever. And on that note: My wife's two year old Renegade battery dropped dead and her jump starter, which had been charged 6 months earlier across Winter months, still had four bars and fired it right up. I couldn't believe that little thing did that. It made me laugh. Glad I watched your show. I bought a 4000 for my shop for their lot cars that go dead and they just love it. I think Goo Loo is the best out there.

I've had one of those smaller gooloo's for almost 3 years now. I top it up once every 6 months or so cause it does seem to have some self discharge issues, but otherwise it has jump started everything I have connected it to no problem, usually spinning the engine over faster than it would have on a regular car battery. I think I paid about $60-80 on Amazon back then.
It's mind blowing how cheap and small these things are, yet have no problem jump starting a car....
