      The light should be where the jumper cable hookups are. This way, you could see what you're doing in the dark without fumbling around with the jump-starter. But you are right, the Hulkman and Fanttik are very well made.

      When we purchased our Gooloo GT4000 many months ago it was around $170. When we purchased the Hulkman 10.0 many months ago it was around $300. Both units are made very well, and I would trust them both if I was stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery. Most times you get what you pay for as well all know, but sometimes cheaper doesn't always mean the unit is cheaply made.

      @@marksoprano007 if you live in a very cold climate the Gooloo GT4000S is not great in below zero temps, I would recommend the Gooloo GT4000, that will work in negative temp degrees. The Hulkman jump starters are great units, but the Gooloo GT4000s or GT4000 are pretty great as well. So it's just a matter of personal preference. The Hulkman units and the Gooloo GT4000 are great in freezing weather, the both have nice size LCD screens with helpful info, they both have a bright flashlight with a few different modes, they both have heavy duty smart cables. The Hulkman wires are 6AWG wires and the Gooloo is 8AWG wires. But both units work very well. The Hulkman 10.0 and Gooloo GT 4000 will put out 4000A peak amps. The Hulkman 85S will put out 2000A peak amps. The Hulkman 10.0 will jump start gasoline engines up to 10.0 L & 10.0 L diesel I believe, the Gooloo GT4000 will jump start up to 12.0L gas engines and 10.0L diesel I believe. So it's basically a toss up between Gooloo GT4000 & Hulkman 10.0 or 85S

    Question please, let’s say you go to work. Leave the door ajar and lights are on inside. Old battery and it dies. With the HULKMAN , do you have to press both buttons and put in boost mode to start your car. Or can you just simply hook it to the battery and start your car?
    Reason o ask I’m getting my mother one. And I’m wandering if I tell her to make the green light come on and she starts car. Then comes back around to front of car and removes the HULKMAN and it’s still in boost mods with green light on , could the cables arc because it’s still in boost mode. Or if she removed cables first and then accidentally touched the places you plug in cables could she get shocked. Basically I’m wandering will these start a car without having to have the green ready light on? Thank you.

    • @HM_RELOADED
      @HM_RELOADED  Рік тому

      If the battery is completely dead with hardly any voltage you will need to push the 2 buttons to boost. But if your battery has around 7 volts there is no need to push the Boost. The Hulkman will recognize either way if the battery has enough power by illuminating a green ready sign I believe. And as far as the cables, Hulkman has smart features on the unit, so if your mom put the cables on the wrong terminal nothing will happen (no shock), or if she touches the cables together by accident nothing will happen (no shock). The only time a shock could occur is if you push the Boost button then you touch the cables together, but other then that the Hulkman protects you. The green ready light has to come on for you to successfully jump start your car.

      Hi Marlene, If you are shopping for a powerful, reliable jump starter you cant go wrong with Hulkman, Noco, Gooloo, Fanttik, Avapow or Foxpeed models. Do you happen to know what cylinder or Liter engine your vehicle is, that would determine what portable jump starter is best for you. I personally would get a jump starter that will jump start vehicles up to 8 Liter engines, this way you could jump start just about any gasoline vehicle on the road today.

      My car is a 6 cylinder. Last year I had too call AAA twice. Both times over an hour wait. I have no idea about any of the brands even. My last one was an old lead acid that died years ago. I’m liking the size of the new models that are out now. Either way I was shopping for one and the only brand I even heard of was Hulkman, I just looked up gooloo, they are a 1/3 less. I’m looking up your list now.
      This year is concerning for me(I’m a single widow)because here in California there is labor shortages. I would hate to be stuck for hours for something as simple as a jumpstart.
      I’m liking the usefulness of the new jumpstarters. I was reading that they themselves recharge in 1 1/2 hours. That’s amazing considering their size.
      Looking up the other brands now.
      I subscribed instantly to your channel after the video. It showed me what I wanted to know. Not just would they work. But how they worked. Especially with a completely dead battery. All I know is it looks like it’s going to be a very very hot summer in California. And I would be stupid not too have something like a Hulkman or Gooloo(or any of the other brands you recommend )in my car.
      Keep up the good work and thank you

      Always check to see what the wattage is for charging. If the charger is 65 watt or higher that means the jump starter will charge very quickly, usually in a little over an hour. The Gooloo GT4000 has a car charger of 100 watt and will fully charge the jump starter in 1.2 hours, the Hulkman and Fanttik brand have 65 watt chargers and will fully charge your unit in about 1.5 hours. The Noco takes a while longer to fully charge because the charger has less wattage. But if you have a 6 cylinder vehicle and you like that a few jump staryers will fully charge in a little over an hour, then Hulkman & Gooloo will do the job. Now if you don't mind that some jump starters may take 4-8 hours to fully charge then Noco, Foxpeed, Avapow will jump start just about anything they ate rated for. Always make sure that the jump starter you choose can jump start vehicles up to 8L, this way your unit will be able to jump start just about any gas vehicle on the road. Fir example: If you get a jump starter that will jump start up to 6 liter, and your personal vehicle is an 8 liter, your new jump starter is gonna probably fail and not work. Just do homework before you buy. But Hulkman, Noco, Gooloo, Fanttik, Avapow, Foxpeed are all great units, you just have to get one that's powerful enough to jump start your vehicle.

      @HM_RELOADED  8 місяців тому

      But if you have a bad connection after you do it the way you mention, then you have to start the whole procedure over again by unhooking the cables and fumbling around by turning the GT the other way for the light, then hooking them up again. It just makes sense to have the light on the same side as the cable port to avoid any potential issues, in my opinion. And if the GT had much longer cables then you could hook up the unit and turn it around for light if needed, but the cables are too short for that, or your way would work just fine. Or you could watch our other videos showing how to extend your GT cables to 3 feet, then you wouldn't have to worry which side the light was on, know what i mean? Thanks for the comment

      The Gooloo GT4000 cables look a little thin, but I have used that jump starter many times and the cables hold up well, they may get a wee bit warm after multiple jump starts in a row, but these cables are made to jump start the first time and put them away till the next problem happens. But most of us reviewers put these jump starters through some torture tests to see exactly how well they work, that's when cables get hot

The only thing is that I wish these jump starters had longer cables since some batteries are pushed in corners and out of the way, and there are obstacles blocking the battery sometimes, longer cables would be an absolute must have in these situations.

    Really odd how your Noco won't start anything but in many other videos they do just fine. I have had a Noco for about 3 years and use it in the marine industry where completely dead batterys is a very common occurrence. It has never failed to start an engine as big as a 496 (8.1L) with completely dead battery. I do have a problem with the volt meter not working and only showing ---- on the display but the unit still works in every other aspect.
    Watching how you connect the clamps to the GM side terminal cables is a bit discerning because the cables are clamped to each end of the bat cable bolt leaving the bolt loose on the actual cable connection inside of the boot. That cable is designed for the bolt to pull the cable connector up tight to the battery connector for a solid connection. Doing it your way, it looked like with the Noco connection, the clamps where tight against the terminal bolt but the bolt was loose in the cable end but I would still guess you have a bad Noco unit.

    • @HM_RELOADED
      @HM_RELOADED  2 роки тому +1

      Also, in reference to how I was so called clamping the Noco, if the Noco was clamped incorrectly the unit wouldn't have showed it was ready to jump start by the power lights chasing and the white light blinking continuously, and you could also hear the clicking module sending power, so it had a solid connection. And I am not the only person who has had struggles with my Noco GB70 jump starting my certain vehicles with V8. Quite a few people on UA-cam have videos out as well. Just remember nobody is saying that the Noco GB70 is a bad product. I actually love my Noco GB70 for 4, 6 and some V8 cylinder vehicles because I never have an issue except on my Cadillac V8. It's weird because a friend of mind has an exact Cadillac V8 as mine and his Noco GB70 struggles with his vehicle as well. You are confusing power output and capacity. Watt hours (Wh) relates to the capacity of the battery...how many cars it can jump or devices it can recharge. The Hulkman and the Gooloo are much newer models. NOCO has released a newer version of the GB 70, the GBX75. I'm going to guess your NOCO is the oldest of the jump starters and has seen the most use. Its battery is the most "tired." Enjoy your videos, thumbs up, and keep up the good work.

      Was your battery totally dead, if so, did you push the Boost button on the jump starter before starting vehicle. Just asking. Also, I have noticed from doing many videos that many portable jump starters have issues jump starting certain vehicles for whatever reason. I have a Noco GB70, and it most of the time cannot jump start my 2004 Cadillac Deville V8. The Noco GB70 should be able to jump start my V8, but it struggles for some reason. So I definitely know what your going through being that your Gooloo GT4000s is having trouble with your 7.3 diesel. I keep saying to my viewers that certain jump starters have issues jump starting certain vehicles that can't be explained why. I have been told the internals in my Caddy V8 are not compatible with the Noco GB70 Interface, but that's not a fact. Something is causing the Noco GB70 and your Gooloo GT4000s to not be able to jump start certain vehicles that should otherwise have no problem jump starting....weird. Something is causing this issue, just don't know what the issue is, other then a possible interna or connection issue. Thanks for the comment

      @@HM_RELOADED Yes, the battery was completely dead. I'm pretty bummed that It wont-work on the truck that I bought it for and that it's supposedly as rated for.

      @@mcstiggens I'm sorry you had to go through that. Send it back if you still have a warranty, call the company and tell them their product did not work on a vehicle engine that it was advertised to jump start. Let me know what happens.

      The Gooloo 4000 wouldn't start a 5.9 liter Cummins on Project Farms channel. You might want to look into the Lokithor jump starter. It started his Cummins with ease. And costs roughly the same as the Gooloo. If you've never heard of Project Farm, search for him. He does great reviews on tools and things like that.

      We already did a review on the Lokithor J401X, great jump starter. Thanks for the comment

    I have two Hulkman 85s and after 14 months of sitting in my suv it still reads 97% . It does get cold here in Minnesota and I am impressed it's still 97%.

      I think so too!
      I've watched 15 Jumpstarter comparison videos today.
      The NOCO's always fail.
      I almost bought this junk because they are being pushed up on Amazon in my country.
      I'll probably buy either Gooloo or Audew.

      Sorry about the unsteady camera shots from time to time. I do have the steady option on, but evidently it doesn't work so well.
