I love your videos, not only the content but YOU, you don't try to be something artificial, you are just YOU. So refreshing to see. A lot of them try to be "funny" and laugh all the way through or make stupid comments. You are just who you are and are helping us along this journey. THANK YOU SO MUCH.....DON'T CHANGE A THING.
Thank you for the inspo. Many years I bought a traditional English picnic basket that was always difficult and clumsy and that horrible color. It's been sitting in my basement because I was afraid I would regret it if I donated it. You inspired me to paint it and use it as decorative storage.
I actually like the framed art you found just the way it is. It has a soothing feel that would be great in a nautical type decor. The pillows are very nice and little wicker basket on the shelf. Great job!
You can take very sharp scissors and snip off the leather sticking up pieces on that stool. Like shoe restoration people do. Then sand and restain the leather. Would be worth a try!
Yay for Raleigh/Durham! I live just east of here. And I so appreciate the Bible verse in your description. You have such a lovely aesthetic and I'm looking forward to more videos!
I loved this video and your finds and styling of them in your home. The round ottoman…I am sure you can make it beautiful. It would depend on how often you see them at your thrift/yard/estate sales and the shape and size you want. I look forward to seeing what you decide.
Thank you so much! I ended up not getting the ottoman and doing a table instead which I redid... twice 😂 You can see both redos in later videos! I actually think the round ottoman is still there at the thrift store though haha. Thanks for watching!
I bought all my furniture from thrift store. St Vincent DePaul mostly at 1/2 price. Great leather couch, chairs, end tables, dressers etc. clothes a lot from thrift stores
I'm loving your thrifted and upcycled decor items. You have a great eye. The little purplish wine color in the art looks so good with the aux rosemary or Sage plant And planter and the little horse and wicker basket.
OMG I loved that blue set of plates for £22, love your haul.its new years eve here and my birthday, watching you guys first thing is a great way to start the day
Thanks so much! I just throw them in the washer. Even if it's a down insert. I just wash it on the gentle cycle and keep on truckin' haha. It doesn't seem to harm them and in fact makes them nice and fluffy. Apparently The Spruce agrees with me so I feel pretty confident it's fine :)- www.thespruce.com/wash-and-clean-feather-bed-pillows-2146357#:~:text=Some%20think%20washing%20feather%20pillows,water%20is%20easier%20and%20faster.
I actually put the whole pillow into my washing machine. If I'm just going to be using the cover obviously I will take it off first and discard the insides. But if it's a down pillow that I want to keep, I put the whole thing in. I spray it really well with OxiClean first and then wash it as usual. I put it in the dryer as well! I had the same question when I started out but I learned from The Spruce that it doesn't harm down to launder them, it actually makes them nice and fluffy to wash and dry. ☺️
Sorry to hear that--sometimes the one closest to me is not so full either and it's disappointing, but this time of year and January (after Christmas) they tend to be fuller.
Wow I love everything you came home with. it’s funny how you painted that picnic basket. I also have one of those from Goodwill. I’m newly subscribed by the way and also have a question for you… Where did you get your rug from? It’s beautiful? I’m looking for one for my family run can’t find a thing.❤
I’ve never bought large furniture from a thrift store, but I have donated a very expensive leather couch, love seat and chair. They were in excellent condition. Due to my disabilities, I didn’t want to try to sell them. I just wanted them gone. My husband and daughter moved the furniture to Salvation Army. I know that someone will really appreciate having the nice furniture. It’s not all about money. Thanks
That's very kind of you. It makes it worthwhile knowing you can sometimes find something really nice while thrifting and that doesn't happen without nice donations. I'm constantly purging home decor and donating things back as well as buying. Thanks for watching!
What store did you see the desk at? I live in Selma and I need a desk. I love this one. Where is there a Goodwill bins? Great finds! Go back and get the ottoman.
The desk is at Trosa thrift store in North Durham! And the Goodwills in this area have bins that the linens as well as certain clothes are in (but the whole store isn't bins). There is a Goodwill Outlet (all bins) in Greensboro though. ❤️
@@TashaatHome thank you so much, I’ll check it out. I’m a Raleigh native but I moved to SC for 15 years and moved home during the pandemic. It’s nice to see a Triangle girl on here.
I read up on it and found that you can just throw down pillows in the washer. I thought maybe it would harm them but apparently not. Then I just dry them in the dryer on low heat. It makes them nice and fluffy 😌 Just make sure they get thoroughly dry. For polyester pillow inserts I do the same but if you have an agitator in your washer it can possibly make them a bit misshapen. I like this article : amerisleep.com/blog/how-to-wash-and-dry-pillows/#:~:text=Polyester%20pillows%20have%20a%20bounce,on%20a%20low%20heat%20setting.
In that spot I am, for now. Although they do show dust easily! If I were doing them again right now, I would probably at least consider using the "faux oak" paint technique I showed in my bathroom makeover that I did on the cabinets.
I love watching your videos. I also live in North Carolina. I love thrifting in the Raleigh/Durham area. I’ve never heard of the Durham Rescue Mission Outlet Store before watching your videos. Can you possibly send me the address for them? I can’t find them on gps. Just the thrift stores
So happy to have you as a subscriber, welcome! And I'm happy to share all my rug info. Loloi Olive/Charcoal Rug (living room, probably the one you mean. We have the 9x12): amzn.to/3tium8H Loloi Antique/Moss rug: (family room, has touches of blue, 9x12) amzn.to/474sjmE Loloi Sage/Bark rug (dining room, which I also love, 8x10): amzn.to/3H00fGt
Thank you for the info. I always seem to go back to that rug but I’m always worried about the olive color but it doesn’t seem to show much. Thank you so much for responding. I might have to buy it lol.❤
Loloi notes, somewhere or another, that there is up to a 30% variance in the color of their rugs. So it's possible you will get one that reads a little more green or a little more brown. The nice thing about ordering from Amazon is, at least, returns are free and pretty easy for an item this size because they let you schedule a free pickup from your porch. Mine does show the olive colors, but I wanted that, and so it may turn out to read too green for you, but you don't have much to lose since you can return it. I also really ended up liking the antique/moss one though!

🥹 Thanks so much for this comment! I really appreciate it.
I would get the ottoman. It’s leather, clean up, put legs on and a tray on top for remotes , coffee etc. would look great

Oh yes that sounds like it'll be great, go for it! 😊 Thanks so much for watching!

It deserves to stay as it is 😅

Oh! Yes all my furniture came from a thrift store!! I love the clam dish for a bathroom. Cute soaps inside!!

I’d wait on that ottoman. I think you can find something in better condition unless of course you WANT a big project. 😘My favorite thing was the vase.
Thanks for your input☺️ And yes I love the vase!
Great styling moments! Good finds! 😊
Thank you!! 😊

I also loved the bronze vase at the store! (Bronze? Brass?)
Oh right, yes I think it was brass. I thought it was pretty too!
Love the Margo bag!
The desk painted black is a find…you should consider getting it with the ottoman. You did great
I'm loving your thrifted and upcycled decor items. You have a great eye. The little purplish wine color in the art looks so good with the aux rosemary or Sage plant And planter and the little horse and wicker basket.
Thank you so much! I love that little ceramic horse ☺️ I grew up on a horse farm so I have horse touches here and there.
Great finds and styling!
Thank you!! 😊
I Love your channel, especially the dupes. You are so good at it.😅🎉❤

I Love your Videos! And Yes on the Ottoman Coffee Table DIY
Yay! Thank you!
Great thrift stores… prices as well. Yes to ottoman and the art piece.
Thank you for weighing in! 😊
Rustoleum in khaki is a great colour for using on previously painted wicker or too dark wicker.
Thank you, I'll check out that shade!
You have a great eye!
Yes go get the ottoman
Just love your videos! ❤ How do you clean your thrifted pillows? Yes, on the ottoman. I would love to see how you refinish it.

Hello from Australia 🇦🇺 loved everything you showed us.
🤗 Thanks so much!
Good trip
Yes, thanks!!
Get the ottoman! Loved your finds!
I enjoy your videos and I would love to see your remake of that ottoman.
I loved the Victorian Beach painting I have found some beautiful Victorian Beach paintings at my ReStore.
I thought that was beautiful too!
You have great videos and I’m only about an hour away and sometimes go to those stores too 👍🏻
Great finds!!! It’s obvious I need to head to NC to thrift!!!
Did anyone else notice those beautiful green Hitchcock chairs??
😊 Come on and get 'em!
Hey! I live in Durham too! And I actually bought the large tortoise shell vase you showed 😊
Haha nice! 👋🏼 What are the odds!
I really enjoy all your videos. I say give the black round ottoman I try. 😃
Thank you ☺️
GREAT Finds!!!!❤
Thank you!
Of course you need to go get the ottoman! I want to see how you redo it!
😂 I hear ya!
How do you launder or clean the pillows from the thrift store?

The thrift stores in my area are not filled, overflowing, or set up anywhere near what you shops have |. I’m so jealous!
Sorry to hear that--sometimes the one closest to me is not so full either and it's disappointing, but this time of year and January (after Christmas) they tend to be fuller.

Yeees welcome back! I'm from near the OBX but have been in the triangle since 2011 so I definitely call it home now
❤
Hi, new watcher. I enjoy your videos. Quick question, how do you clean your throw pillows that you bring home from the thrift stores/bins? Thank you.
I read up on it and found that you can just throw down pillows in the washer. I thought maybe it would harm them but apparently not. Then I just dry them in the dryer on low heat. It makes them nice and fluffy 😌 Just make sure they get thoroughly dry. Are you happy with the floating shelves? I used to want everything black, now Im trying to introduce color but find it difficult!❤
In that spot I am, for now. Although they do show dust easily! If I were doing them again right now, I would probably at least consider using the "faux oak" paint technique I showed in my bathroom makeover that I did on the cabinets.
Larry Langilocalligraphy mug set $22
You're absolutely right. Kind of cool wasn't it?
But I hope those pillows have removable covers and I really hope that you wash them. Before putting them in your home.
All thrifted linens are duly washed 🙂
Go back for that Otto a !
Make sure you check furniture for bed bugs because they're back with a vengeance. Wash anything possible from thrift stores.
Hi there, where did you get your rug?
The one in the living room is this one: amzn.to/3UM72LI. And the one in my daughter's room is this one: amzn.to/3T9yZw4
It's tricky to find on the map! It's at 2425 S Alston Ave, Durham, NC 27713
You would probably also like bleaching your baskets!
Yes, I really need to try that! I will soon ☺️
👌👌👏👏👏
I enjoy thrifting. I get concerned that I will bring home a bug infestation along with my treasures.
Sorry to continue my comment, but not your daughters rug, which I actually love to but the one I believe in your living room
So happy to have you as a subscriber, welcome! And I'm happy to share all my rug info.
Loloi Olive/Charcoal Rug (living room, probably the one you mean. We have the 9x12): amzn.to/3tium8H
Loloi Antique/Moss rug: (family room, has touches of blue, 9x12) amzn.to/474sjmE
Loloi Sage/Bark rug (dining room, which I also love, 8x10): amzn.to/3H00fGt

The ottoman looked fake leather … It will eventually peel I would not buy it unless it’s leather…
our thrift shops in No California r not nearly as good as yours
You can do better - pass….
