  • This is my first time donating to Wigs for Kids, and I wanted to help bolster their message.
This was supposed to be a fundraiser, but because youtube is being slow with approving them as a charitable group, I'll donate the first month of ad revenue from this video and maybe do a charity livestream sometime down the road when youtube gets its act together.
Any donations you're able to make, either in hair or funds, do a lot of good for a lot of families.

I'm sorry for your loss, man... Your mom sounds like she was an incredible person. Clearly she was considering how thoughtful her son turned out to be. That was an awesome thing you did. Thank you for making a video about it and shouting out the charity.

Thanks CT. It was rough at first but mom didn't want anyone to wallow around depressed for her sake. She even insisted that we refer to her funeral as a 'Meh'-morial so that we could all have fun remembering her instead of missing her.

What I came for: Krimson lobbing the off his hair off in a funny video.
What I got: Krimson telling us about his mother’s battle with cancer and his desire to donate his hair because he doesn’t want a child to go through what his mother went through, along with a lot of detail about Wigs for Kids to get the word out.
I expected laughs, I left with tears.
Great video Krimson. You’re doing a lot of great work

The moment I noticed a past tense when talking about his mom I had an "oh no..." moment
Not the sappiest guy, but sometimes small things can get to me in odd ways. When he had to swallow to actually say the words "she died" I had to take a good breath myself.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, when I was in my freshman year of highschool. I’d wanted to donate my hair to her, but our hair is different colors so she gently turned it down in favor of a scarf. She’s doing so much better now, I genuinely can’t imagine my life without her, especially now I’m in my first year of college… I send my condolences, even if it’s all I have to give. I’ve been watching since 2020, and your channel has become a very comforting spot to me.

I'm actually doing the same thing you are!!! My hair is reaching underneath my butt right now, and I'm still waiting a couple more months, because I'm taking a different approach than you are. I watched a report in my country's news that talked about charities making wigs actually having to throw out perfectly good hair they were receiving because they were either 1) getting too much and didn't have the time to process it before it became unusable or worse, 2) running out of money to make the wigs so while waiting for more donations, they just had to throw out the hair.
That made me really nervous about donating my hair because at that point, it was already past my waist and I have auburn curly hair, so I didn't want it to go to waste. So instead I found an alternative solution: I'm growing my hair as long as I can stand it (I've always had short hair before embarking on this journey so this is pretty hard for me) and then I'm selling it on a marketplace that deals in human hair and can give you up to like a thousand dollars depending on the length, thickness, color and type of hair you have.
I reached out to a couple of the largest marketplaces to get my hair evaluated, and at the time when it was just below my waist, I had something like 700$ worth of hair. So my goal is to get as much money as possible from a sale, and then donate all of that money to one of those wig-making charities to make sure they can actually keep making the wigs.
So I was honestly pretty excited to see your video haha, high five mate! It's always cool to know you're not the only one doing something nice for cancer. I lost four family members to that BS so I'm very passionate about it.

Hey, Krimson. I've been watching your channel for years now & I don't mean to get all parasocial relationship with you, but I get you completely.
In 2019 I lost my mother, who also had glorious hair, to a mutating + rare form of skin cancer. She was also treated by St. Jude until the cancer mutated too quickly, then we had to opt for specialized care. She felt similarly to your mother in the sense of she didn't want to take away from others who would 'need it' more than she did, so she opted for synthetic wigs & what not.
I'm halfway through the video, but I wanna say thank you for taking time to yourself & thank you for continuing to donate your hair to these causes. I didn't shave my head when the rest of my family did for my mom & I've felt some guilt over that, so seeing you do this in honor of your mother is cathartic. Can't wait to get to the end of the video to see the results :)
If you need someone to talk to about that particular type of parental loss, I am here & can offer my email or discord, because I 100% wished I had someone to relate to when my mother first passed. There's a particular type of grief that comes with this that is best touched on through (unfortunately) likeminded people. I don't necessarily want to hit you with the "my condolences" because when my mother passed, it drove me nuts. I instead opt to offer you my support & compassion :)

I recently chopped off my own hair to donate, partially due to you talking about it (although I'd been working up the nerve for a while). It was all the way down to my butt and is now at my shoulders. I was very attached to it, I'd been growing it out my whole life and I shed a few tears when it was cut. Hair is one of the things that we use to show who we are, it's a part of us and I can't imagine how much it must hurt to lose it.
I'm sorry about your mum, she seems wonderful and obviously did an amazing job raising you. You're an incredible person with a good soul and I hope you have a good day.

Sending love to you and your family, I lost my father to cancer 2 years ago, so I know how hard it is to lose someone who means so much, hope you're doing better. You're doing a great thing and I have loved watching your reviews and learnt so much.

that has to be one of the hardest things you've ever had to go through, Krim. I don't think I can say anything that can really give you some form of condolence and best wishes on future projects. what your doing is especially important to these kids. hit's home for me especially since my best friend in elementary school and I remembered being scared like hell for him. some of my teachers then even shaved their heads in solidarity to my friend with him going through treatment.

I've been working on growing my hair out for donation, and it's something I've found really difficult. I've kept my hair short out of practicality since I was a kid, I was bad at maintaining it - and as I got older, having long hair gave me major gender dysphoria. But the pandemic started, and it gave me the push to commit to it. I've actually grown fond on having longer locks, and have actually been able to use to my advantage for gender presentation!
Thanks for sharing your story, and your hair. You're a cool guy. I send my deepest condolences for your loss ❤

I’m so sorry for your loss. Just what you told us about her conveyed her selfless nature. She sounds like she was an amazing woman. Incredible way to honor her and help others who are hurting too. You had some GORGEOUS locks, someone is gonna be really happy with that as a wig!! Love the hair flip advice haha ❤️ Considering donating mine now.

Your mother sounds like an amazing person, not only because of your words, but because you're living proof of the woman she was. If there is an afterlife, I know she's proud of you ♥️

I would never have the strength to cut my hair even for a great cause like this. Awesome man, super cool of you to do that

My hair is well past my waist, and I haven't died it since 2008! I really want to donate it.

As someone that donated hair myself (mine was just shoulder-lenght tho but I shaved off completely to donate) the first thing that is strange is turning your head. Dunno if this happened to you Krimson but the first time I looked to the side I almost got a cramp from the whiplash of turning it way too fast cause I didn't have all the weight anymore

Thank you so much for you video Krim and I'm so sorry for your loss. My mom got diagnosed almost 20 years ago and I'm still petrified at the thought of her getting sick again. She's the strongest woman I"ve met and I admire her more than she'll ever know.

For nine years, from 8 years old to 17, I donated my hair to St. Baldrick's and raised thousands of money so I love seeing a person I subscribe to doing something similar. I'm very sorry to hear about your mother.

We lost my mother in law a few years ago now to cancer. My mother was, a trash fire, this woman took me in, like I was her own from day one. I had a real mother for fifteen years, and she was one of the coolest people I'd ever met in my life. I'm so sorry for your loss dude. We feel you. That is a horror I would wish on no one. But you're not alone, if that's any solace. SIDE NOTE head looking good after! =D
