Whenever I dump my laundry on my bed to fold it, my cat immediately jumps up and sleeps on it. She gets her black fur all over the clean laundry.
Leia does that too. I need to pull clothes out from under her while she tries to get comfortable, then gives me an irritated look when I disturb her. How dare I, right? XD
@@KrimsonRogue l always avoided that with shutting the door to the room where I fold clothes.
I wear mostly black or dark colors, so it's my bf's mostly white cat that loves my laundry.

Protip. Put one of your old shirts in the cat bed. Your cat is sleeping in the laundry basket because she likes the scent of your clothes and you. A little bit of catnip helps too.
My cat does the same thing in regards to toys. I'll get her those little jingly bell balls and instead she'll go for socks and drawstrings from my clothes
but then when you give her the socks and drawstrings, she prefers the toys, and thus a cycle begins
The trick is a couple of things. A: find out what kinds of toys your cat likes (crinkly, jingly, mouse/fish imitation, fetch, those fun fishing rod style dangly things), then keep lots of different kinds of those on a rotation where a few toys come out and the rest are in a drawer or something. Rotate the toys every 1-2 weeks and it'll keep things fresh and exciting, like getting toys every 2 weeks.

KrimsonRogue did you have any old rags like that used to be old shirts you used to ware that might still have your sent on it? Line the cat bed with it and maybe some catnip and leave it somewhere like where the close basket is at and she will start to like it. More so if the rag shirt is fresh from the dryer.
My cat never used her cat bed. She just lays on my pillow and throws a fit when I have to go to bed.
LOL every cat owner learns that if you buy anything for a cat, there's a 99% chance the cat will prefer the box the thing came in. My cat has a collection of Amazon cardboard boxes and she's never asked for anything else.

I recommend getting a string of Christmas lights and leaving them on and in a pile. The warmth will attract Leia away from your clothes and towards the blinky lights. My cats love to sleep on that.
Why would anyone buy a cat bed? Any decent cat person knows that cats prefer beds, laundry, or basically anything but the cat bed. My friend had a cat that had a cat bed and the cat would sleep beside the cat bed.

my cat had an impromptu cat bed, which was a basket with a blanket in it. she never used it and just slept on my bed or in boxes.
Yep, my cats do this every laundry day... I set out the hamper to get towels and stuff out of the bathroom, I come back out and one or both of my cats is in the basket.
At least they haven't climbed into the dryer yet....
I can vouch for that. I have two cats, where do they sleep? - my computer chair, any balled up article of clothing, the couch, the chairs in the living room, our laps, any sunny spot, the cat tree, the clothes basket when it's out of the utility room... yeah, I see no need to get a cat bed. Hope you kept the receipt Krimson. :D

I will have you know that when my cat isn't laying on the table, under the couch, in the recycling bin, or on top of the washer he does in fact use the bed. Sometimes. Rarely.
For my old cat his bed was a pillow on our bay window. He would get so pissed off whenever we old move it.
when i had a cat, i was the bed. and woe unto me whenever i had to move around!
My boy Clyde uses it sometimes. It's on my desk next to my computer. Though, he only uses it when I'm sitting there and writing, while I'm petting him. All other times he sleeps on my bed.
Mine does use his bed, but I put it in the best window of the house. He sits in it as he stares at the garden.
My cat sleeps NEXT TO her cat bed that I spent two weeks allowance on! But you're so cute, Flicker... I can't stay mad.

Funny. My cat either sleeps in my bed or the guest bed. Also he'll sleep on my clothes if I have them laying on the bed. But he won't sleep in a cat bed or a clothes hamper/basket.

Funny enough, when my cat was a kitten, she used her cat bed almost every night! Well worth the money.
The only bed my cats use is the dog bed. Because they like to bully the dog off of her own bed and then lay on it all smug

That is just so my cat. I made a box bed for him, he uses it at least once a day... then neglects it for a week... then becomes obsessed with it. *Repeat*

The trick is to put a cat bed in a place that is REALLY worth it to your cat. In front of the window or the fireplace is good because then they get snugglz and warmz. :-) (Also I don't let my cats in the bedroom which means the laundry isn't an option!)

I tried that once with mine! He just ignored it and I wasted my money. Instead try a cardboard cat bed (or even a cardboard box from the grocery store). They prefer to lay in that much more and then scratch it up to make it fluffy (cats are weird).

as a cat owner i can attest to this, cat beds are a waste, i havnt tried covered ones they might be better
