been washing my engine for years with a pressure washer. i just spray it with 2-1 purple power and let soak for a few minutes and blast off all the nastiness. never covered anything and never had any problems .a clean engine is a happy engine.
"How to wash a allready clean engine". I m From Brazil, watch some videos about detaling or regular washing and notice how clean are the cars, its way more easy to keep the car clean in a coutry that have more infrastructure. In my city we have a 4 months of no rain, the dust is like thanos, inevitble
Only part of spraying the enginebay you gotta be mindful of is around the spark plug tubes, those are not water tight, they can and do get water in there and cause misfires, I've done it several times, so just take an air gun and blow them out when finished (I haven't finished the video yet)
When I clean engines, I use a mixture of Dawn Dish Soap, Super Clean & Purple Power Boat & Vehicle Wash. I only use my garden hose, no power washer. I use my foam gun, let dwell & scrub with my wheel & tire brushes. Rinse, dry with forced air. Then I apply an inexpensive tire foam spray, let air dry. After the product has dried, I will come back & apply protectant and or wax as needed. I never spray the insulation under the hood. The tire foam does an outstanding job. Keep Cleaning!
Wow. Just discovered your channel, and I'm really liking how logically and clearly you explain why/why not to do things. Might sound a little weird, but I love your experienced and mature way of speaking, totally keeps my attention and makes me believe you. Anyway, great video, subbed.
I own a 2015 forester XT and I love doing detailing on the interior and exterior, I jus never had the confidence to detail the engine bay like you did. I’m jus afraid I mess up the electrical. This video gave me a little confidence and I’ll definitely give it a try 😁
Thank you, this video was exactly the video I was looking for. I watched 2 videos before yours and I won’t go watch another. Perfect, I have a newish Jeep Gladiator and as long as I do this often it should never get so bad that it becomes impossible to clean. Also love how clear the audio is and was a very easy video to watch. Thanks man! 👊🏻

That pressure washer + compressor cost more than my car
this man just convinced me to buy a power washer and air compressor just to wash my engine bay

Sheesh 80 bucks for that foam cannon I got one for $14 on Amazon that looks the same but a little less cheap looking lol
I'm pretty sure you don't need to exfoliate your engine bay unless your car is a "she"!
You could spray 303 Protectant over the engine compartment . It will resist plastic and rubber parts / components from drying out and cracking .

I just did this to my Miata, similar steps. So satisfying to see it so clean when most people don’t clean their bays.
You are such a young man. But you know what you are doing, and speak so clearly, without screaming. GREAT WORK!!!😊🎆🎈

I've had electric makita pressure washer for 7-8years and never failed on me, on full power you can remove paint with it soo it's pretty powerful too😃
This is by far the best engine wash vid ive seen. Super under rated.
I don’t even have a car, but it’s satisfying to see this video 😅

Now that's what I call squeaky clean! Thank you for sharing!
Suuuuper helpful and coming from someone I trust, I now trust myself to wash my engine bay correctly :)
Love the video! The engine bay looks clean!
