One of the things I really appreciate on this show is that they cast actors with the disability/condition that the person in the scenario is supposed to have. Actors with speech impediments & other diagnosis definitely deserve to get roles in which they can represent themselves.

@@ianmurphy9955 Ian, please don't say you stutter, you have a speech impediment. I do too, I've done the speech therapy program 3 times. I practice so much I've been mistaken for talking to myself. I do it in my head and out loud when driving alone. Remember to BREATHE, inhale before talking and let it out gradually. I know what we do, we usually tense up when called upon to speak. That makes it much more difficult, like I said BREATHE. I used to stammer and stutter on every word growing up and it wasn't pleasant. I was being medically released from the military when I did the program a third time. I noticed my speech improving over the months. That source of stress was now behind me and my speech improved. Going into any place of business I practice beforehand pertinent questions and always remember to breathe, it works well for me. Do your best to not think about how you would react if you find yourself called on to speak. Thinking about it ending in disaster only contributes towards it. Reframe that negative thought into a positive one. You can do this, no more can't. Remove that word from your vocabulary and substitute a positive one instead. Good luck, hope I didn't go on too long yet not sorry for it. Peace

As a teenager who stutters, I can relate to how a person who stutters would be feeling and, having past experiences of this type of bullying, I believe that this is something that more children should be educated about.
Don't feel offended and you won't be offended. In other words, their ridicule doesn't belong to you unless you accept it as such. Rise above it and walk away. Remember, when someone tries to demean you, all they are actually doing is demeaning themselves. Your experiences can give you a certain perspective from above the fray enabling you to assist others to rise above as well. Good luck in your future.
as someone who actually does stutter this warmed my heart my whole life ive been made fun of for my stutter and its something that i deal with every single day
That must be so frustrating for him. My little brother has autism and sometimes he has a hard time trying to explain things so he gets upset, but that's why it's very important to be patient with them because they did not choose to have this condition.
One of my 5th and 6th grade teachers had a stutter. Kids in class would laugh at him pretty much daily and one day my friend and I fucking snapped and went off on them for like five minutes. He didn't stop us, and he got a little teary eyed. He's still one of the greatest teachers I've ever had.
Exactly, it's only a stammer, it's not that funny although it can be annoying and you just want the person to spit the marbles out but it's never right to show your frustration
@Bullets in Bacon Grease what are you talking about? most of the people who stood up for the woman are white and also you clearly haven't watched that many of these.

Same here. People make fun of me because of my stutter and other disabilities. And some people ask, "So, if you really have a stutter, then how come you can write just like a perfectly normal person? You're a fake!" My response: judge me when you're perfect. I don't make fun of you just because you can speak pretty well but have bad grammar. So don't judge me." It usually shuts them up
@Dumb Stupid no. Stuttering doesn't affect my writing. There is no correlation between the two. I think the person was trying to act cool around his friends. Didn't work though. They destroyed him
I used to have a stutter in elementary school. It still affects me from time to time. People always say just form your words and speak clearly, but it's not that easy, it really is a problem and It really gets to me to see people being discriminated against for it
Most likely none considering there was no footage of her actually ordering something and receiving it hahaha.. Unless they kept ordering ice cream and had it edited out HAHA

As somebody who use to go to school with somebody who stutters (this was when I was 8) I remember people bullying her and telling her that she needs to learn how to talk. I remember them telling her to say words that they knew were hard for her. I remember making songs out of those words, stutters and all. We would sing them all of the time and she would be so happy. It’s one of the only songs that she was confident to sing and I was so proud of her.

Been there, done that :-(. 41yo now, happily married + a kid... a nice house,a good job as a professional... been stuttering all my life and it was worst when i was a kid/teen. Nowadays it smoothened :-). Some even do not notice that i stutter. I find the magnesium deficiency increases it a bit. Funny though i stutter waaaaay less when speaking english than my native tongue - polish. Maybe a different part of brain activates then... anyway it was not easy growing up but what i've learned is to become more self-reliant, idependent, not to give a f about someone butthurting over my opinions... to stand my ground!
As a long-time stutterer, the worst one can do: * is to fill in the words of someone who stutters. * ridicule them. * have no effing patience to listen. * the stutterer avoiding social situations. It's hard, I know, but it doesn't help in the long run.
Im just curious, cause i dont wanna actually hurt someone, so do u consider it rude to ask if u can help? like if i asked if they wanted to write it down and me say it for them, is that rude?
@Samir Dončić But she blubbered like a baby about it. When I was 6, I had a meltdown at school. I took my frustration out on numerous people. I certainly didn't feel strong about it, just childish.
6:04 I love how the characters actually admit that they're harassing her specifically because she's verbally handicapped, basically outing themselves as ableists.
I have suffered from stuttering all my life, albeit not an extremely high level, and it really affects badly. The sly digs you get from people really affect your confidence and make you just not want to talk and slowly i became more and more introverted especially in middle school/high school. And even now when I find myself speaking too fast or I am in a high pressure situation I have to slow down and think what I am going to say before I say it, and there are even some consonants that I straight up avoid because they always cause a stutter. So Yh it’s really hard
United world Yh it’s gotten better for me too I’ve pretty much learnt how to minimise it to the point where a lot of the time you won’t notice it but it’s still there tho
I have an amazing uncle who has a severe stutter that was caused by child hood abuse. It’s such a sad story and his stories of his bullies just break our heart. This is such a good video
When I worked dispatch for a taxi service their was a lovely fella who used to call us all the time and he had a stutter we were nothing but patient and kind to him it almost broke my heart hearing him talk something like speech that we take for granted.
I have a stuttering problem and this is one of my biggest problems when I have to encounter some problems for the first time, so I’ve given a few tips. 1. Saying “Take your time” does not work, just be patient and have a patient demeanor, it’ll make the person talking less nervous. 2. Stop trying to finish our sentences for us, we have voices, let us use it. 3. People have different types of stuttering. For instance, I mostly stutter on vowels and some consonants. Stop thinking we’re the same, we’re not and it hurts.
That's nice how you put up pointers for people who may simply just not know how to react. I think they should know better than to be rude, but many wouldn't know not to help finish the sentence or say some stupid comment like slow down in the middle of them trying to get their sentence out. I understand how that could make it worse, but many probably wouldn't think that deep and just blurt it out. I have social phobia an I feel like I understand on some level, but some people just don't.
@Ngân Nguyễn Thị I’m glad you found a way to help yourself out. I imagine it can be tiring having to put so much effort into getting a sentence out. I’m glad it’s working for you.
Any words that start with an “S” “L” “R” is a nightmare for me. I stutter a lot at work (military Messhall) and people would make fun of my speech. 😔 A man in particular had the balls to demand for a “normal server” and this Marine Colonel fuckin shut him down. It was awesome! We’re still friends to this day!
As someone who stutters. That would actually be very offensive to me. We don't want special treatment, we don't want to be treated as people who are unable to do stuff for ourselves. We still want to right to be ourselves and do things for ourselves. I was at my university years ago going to talk to my advisor. The woman at the front desk asked me if I had a translator she could speak to instead of letting me talk for myself. Than just everyone else in the office just turned and looked at me. I was soo fucking upset and humiliated that I walked out the office crying and missed my appointment.

I been stuttering since about 3 years old I’m 32 now. I been involved in multiple situations like this. It’s very tough going to a restaurant or going to a fast food place to order food without someone laughing and poking fun at you. Stuttering is one of the more misunderstood disabilities that is mocked at still to this day.
My best friend’s twin stutters and they both say that when they were younger his stutter was way worse and people mocked him and made fun, even friends. When I first went to their home I didn’t know that new people made him feel nervous so he barely talked, I brushed it off because I thought he was shy. But after going more and more to their house I realized he stuttered. My best friend told me it made her really happy that I always waited for him to finish with a smiley face, listening to every word, and never pressured him or tried to finish his sentences. I’ve never met a person who stuttered so I thought that was how it had to be approached (which it is) but getting told that not a lot of people do it broke my heart, because he’s not shy at all, he just doesn’t want to get rushed or made fun of
i love that WWYD actually casts people based on what the character calls for. we can’t even get hollywood to do that but it’s so nice to see actual true representation on screen
During the part where she was the employee, it reminded me of seeing the same situation where I just told the bullies "you know she can spit in your food or something right? She's the person who is making your food" That shut them up real quick. Don't mess with whoever is making your food. XD

I'm from the UK and I stutter as well, some of those comments were really harsh and brought tears to my eyes.
Peace

I feel like that first girl was perfect in every way-
I have a stuttering problem and this is one of my biggest problems when I have to encounter some problems for the first time, so I’ve given a few tips.
@Ngân Nguyễn Thị - That’s good!

My best friend told me it made her really happy that I always waited for him to finish with a smiley face, listening to every word, and never pressured him or tried to finish his sentences. I’ve never met a person who stuttered so I thought that was how it had to be approached (which it is) but getting told that not a lot of people do it broke my heart, because he’s not shy at all, he just doesn’t want to get rushed or made fun of
I have a friend that stutters and every time he trys to talk him he's bully make fun of him and I stand up for him
That nice and I am like your friend and no one stands up for me:(

i love that WWYD actually casts people based on what the character calls for. we can’t even get hollywood to do that but it’s so nice to see actual true representation on screen

Laughed more than I should have
He just burst through your door with the cameras
Lmao 😂
I have a stutter and it’s heartwarming to see people helping her out.
During the part where she was the employee, it reminded me of seeing the same situation where I just told the bullies "you know she can spit in your food or something right? She's the person who is making your food" That shut them up real quick. Don't mess with whoever is making your food. XD
😂😂😂😂😂
FACTS
It’s sad how most people don’t think about this before they throw their whole meal across the counter yelling for a new one.
The first guy was like “ah damn it here she go crying again” he looked so over it 😂
that's so true lol
@@lozza821 Bet you wouldn't say it to his face keyboard warrior.
Stuttering isn’t that big of a deal I feel bad if they feel they can’t even go outside and enjoy themself and speak to people.
Turtle McFee lmao literally the whole word is bored asf Rn
When I was a little girl I use to stutter. My twin brother use to help me and finish my sentences. Love you, Randy❤️

You realise this is fake
@@toby2633 same here. I have a stutter
@@zdproductions3903 does it matter? In real life, people deal with this, no matter what they're disability is. Even people without disabilities get bullied. So, in a way, this is real.
What a beautiful young lady....heart and soul...
Everyone stutters during a oral test especially the mean kids
I grew up with someone who had a major stutter. It was an immense struggle for her to talk. I was always patient with her and gave her the time she needed to communicate. My heart ached for her. She taught me compassion does not cost and should be freely given.
Bullying of anykind should be against The Law.
I wish
Floka Flame right, I get bullied like everyone else but I know they are just saying shit that isn’t true, so I take it like it is, just sounds coming out of someone’s mouth that isn’t true at all anyways.
I’ve watched every single episode. I am gratified to know that there are good people out there willing to speak out about injustices. In this age of they and them, some of us remember what being humans is all about. And yes, I cried a bit...
I stutter when im scared or nervous. I blame my anxiety for that. I love how so many people help this beautiful young woman. I also dated a guy who stuttered and he was bullied too.
This show really teaches kindness.
