Hi. My name is Jordan. I was convicted of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle when I was eighteen. It is a felony. I am now 39 with five kids. How can I ever own a gun?
How can I contact you regarding the restoration of my gun rights? I live in Washington state but I was born in Alaska and I have a felony from the 1990s in Alaska.

It should be considered a violation of a citizens civil rights to continue to persecute someone who has paid their dues/ done their time. Cruel and unusual punishment.
Im so happy to be a part of the success story, I just got my criminal records cleared and also got my rights fully restored. Now I can protect my home and my loved ones. Im grateful to Mr white Expunged
I legally bought a gun in Long Beach California gun store in 2015 and moved to Arizona in 2022 and I tried to purchase a gun and I was delayed because of breaking into a abandoned house back in 2003 whichI was 13 years old at that time I’ve never did no jail time and was released to my parents. How can fix this issue my good friend?
@@blankcompton7992 you may need to get record expunge. That’s something that you can do own your own also. Just google expungement for your state and it will give you step by step instructions.
I had the only felony i had expunged in April 2024. I was 23 years old when i got my felony. I'm now 56. I still have not had my rights restored. This page has given me new hope. Thanks
@@anewf8724 your comment makes no sense. The 2nd Amendment is part of the Constitution, it's considered a God-given freedom just like the right to free speech is. You can't get your right to free speech taken away, or your right to protection from unlawful search and seizure, or your rights to vote. So why can you get your right to own guns taken away? "Shall not be infringed" is literally not open to interpretation, it means shall not be infringed
Congratulations 👏. I'm in CT and served 3 years for 2 violent felony assault charges. I stayed out of trouble for 15 years and went through the pardon process and I'm no longer a felon and have my gun rights back
@clintoncinqmars5603 in CT 5 years you're eligible but the more time goes by the better. They're going to look at what you've accomplished since prison, your character references, and what you write mostly but they go as far as to programs you did in prison. You can keep trying every year
@@Ddgjyfd not exactly sure,,, Virginia is a Commonwealth state, once your civil rights are restored, I was able to petition the circuit where I reside for restoration of my gun rights. I’m still a felon, but all of my rights have been restored
@Rightsrestored556 How do I get my gun rights back? I've been out over 7 years and done nothing but pay all my stuff and been out of trouble and just been doing nothing but working and providing for my kids
And never be looked at the same. If your ex con or ex murderer and you feel you should have your rights to carry that means you yourself will always rely on a gun and be tempted to shoot and get in trouble all over again. So when you get caught up no one else fault.
I agree, but you can scream that at the top of your lungs while they cuff you up and throw you back in prison. They don't care about our constitutional rights.
This is Wayne Gibson good morning I’m very proud of you for getting your rights back I’m currently working on mine I’ve gotten a sealed record by court I need to work on expsonge ment thanks for showing your testimony this gives me a stronger willingness to fight
I was convicted of a felony back in 04'... I just got my weapons carry license back through the mail the other day. I'm GLAD you got ya rights back brother!! ✌️
@@LOUIEONE3 Got a nonviolent felony charge in 04'. But I'd never been in any (serious) trouble before. So my attorney recommended using my "first offender act" so that I could be able to retain my weapons and voting rights after my probationary period was up (which was 5 years). Even after getting off of probation, I had to get a judge to sign off on the paperwork before I could get my rights back and get a carry license. But as far as I understand it, you can get your rights back even if you DIDN'T use the "first offender act". From what I hear, it just takes going through an application process, and possibly paying a fee to get the right judge to expunge your charges.
at first i knew you were genuine when you started listing everything but when you stated the ohio revised code you made me learn that i have even more gun rights then i thought i had. thank you for sharing this
Good job man! That's one of the biggest things they don't tell anyone. The loss of rights when convicted of certain crimes isn't always permanent, and you can get them back in many cases. Good on you for doing what it took to get yours restored! I honestly think that in most cases, once a person has served their sentence, the restoration of all of their rights should be automatic.

Wow bro thanks for the info...this is great news. I believe that our rights should be restored after doing your time especially if you're living clean.
I don't normally leave comments on videos but I want to applaud you for taking the initiative in getting your rights restored and even more for sharing it. I know from experience how difficult having that history can be. With the information you gave me and being a new Ohio resident I will be looking into this myself. I think it would do you and others a service to address what affect a felony from another state has on your gun rights in Ohio
I live off grid in Northern Califirnia I can't even defend my property against predators . I want to go hunting again before I die with my son been using a crossbow for years now I cant duck hunt or hunt upland game its BS that once a ex felon does his time they are not automatically reinstated period.
Well mark I don't know what state you live in ? But federal law supercedes state law and the fact is a crossbow or bow or air rifle is not a firearm as federal law. So any fed who told you you cannot have anything with a trigger is full of BS!
@@kirkstewart-vf6hgyes your exactly right because I can even shoot a bow and arrow or a air rifle because of the gas or something in the air rifle doesn't make it a projectile but I know what you mean and you can use a flintlock muzzleloader the old style but it's not like sharing time with your kids with a shotgun or rifle deer hunting they don't only take away the right to have a gun they also take away a big piece of your life..
I’m going to give this a try! I lost mine in a self defense DV case. I was 26 back in 1996, I would go on to secure full custody of my kids, I’ve never been in trouble since. Thanks a lot for this comment it means a lot to me. Having my rights restored feels great. I grew loving gun started going to the gun range when I was a kid. Made a mistake and lost everything. Now I’m happy to be here and love my freedom. All I want to do now is show that it’s possible to make a change and encourage others felons to live law abiding lives.
@@sway696 I agree. I think every state should at least have this process where a judge looks at the individual and determines if that person is living a law abiding life based on his individual progress. If i person is truly living a law abiding life then they should have no problem providing it in a court of law with a reasonable judge.
After a few months of research and paperwork I got my approval letter the other day. Thanks for posting this. You gave me the push to get my rights back.

With issues happening on a daily basis it is safer to carry a weapon regardless of having a conviction it could save your life as well as others,I rather be judge by 12 than to be carried by 6 is my story and am sticking to it...
I just turned 38 and been a felon since a month after turning 18 for being in a stolen car with a friend, I got felony theft over 1k under 10k. Didn’t carry for a very long time and just started recently since I’m in an open carry state and don’t plan on committing a crime so I shouldn’t be questioned. I plan on working on getting my rights restored I know a couple people that have. Thanks for the video.
But you get caught carrying by some unforseen circumstances and that is a nasty charge. Plus, if happens as a result of being charged with other types of crimes they can use that as means of enhancing your sentence to something a lot more severe. Say you are with someone in a car or a public place, a cop rolls up and finds some weed or other drugs, they can charge you both as co-defendants and that felon in possession of a firearm charge on top of a drug charge can turn few months or couple years to a full on dime in maximum security. Granted that's assuming whomever else you were with that didn't bother letting you know they were holding doesn't step up and take full responsibility admitting ownership and didn't bother to tell you they had shit. Which happens all the damn time to folks. And it makes it nearly impossible to make a case for your innocence since you were already illegally carrying a firearm. It shows criminal intent and mentality... There is no way you are going to beat that shit unless whomever steps up and even then the Prosecutor or judge can choose to ignore it and still charge you both. My prayers go out to you... May God keep you safe.
@@rickyrodriguez9831 anywhere where it's a crime for a felon to possess a firearm police will want to id. Got my record expunged and gun rights restored in 2014 in SC, my situation was a little different though... i plead guilty to a possession of a stolen firearm felony(2005). did a year of probation(2006). After that did a shit load of calling many lawyers offices, with them all saying " you're a felon for life and can never own a gun", with none of them asking what age i was during the charge... well years went on by and i became my own "lawyer" and found out i plead guilty under the YOA act.. so i called the solicitor office and asked them about it, paid $600 and about months later got my expungment papers in the mail, "records destroyed".. been riding with guns ever since, pulled over many of times and weapon handed back to my glove box once they unloaded it of course.

Hey bro, your story is inspiring. I'm in the process of restoring my firearm rights in the state of Arizona.Your story gives me hope. Just want to say thank you! God bless
Just talk to lawyers in Arizona they said if reinstated your good in all 50 states! But says in some states if reinstated it's only good in that state only. Figure definitely need to be clear if good in all 50 or confined to the state that reinstated only.
Man thanks for making this video. I recently just got into guns. I got a g43x to carry and a walther pdp pro for home defense just to find out I’m not eligible to carry because of two m1 misdemeanor possession chargers from 2015-16. I was bummed to say the least. I was just expressing how I feel last night to my family and my phone must have been listening as well because here we are today with UA-cam recommending your video to me. I live in Ohio as well so hopefully my county is as understandings yours was. I’ll start this process after work today. Thanks again man for making me aware of this.
Dude, great video. I’ve been down too luckily no violent crimes so I match up perfectly. You were very, very enlightening on the situation! I really appreciate the fact that you encourage all the other felons that are in this situation as well because it’s a messed up situation.
I love it man, congrats! Just got my firearm rights restored back in January of 2021. My state also finally passed an expungment statute, so that's next on my list to finish cleaning up my mess from 15 years ago.
In Alabama you have to go before the pardons and parole board and to get a pardon you don’t get it expunged but you can get a pardon as long as it’s been 5 to 10 years since you’re penance has been paid and then you can file for a pardon, and after that, you can file for your rights.
This is awesome to see. Now I'm not a felon or anything like that, and I never have been one, BUT it's awesome that you can turn your life around and get things back. It's a really nice break from the judgmental bulshit that I've been hearing about. Good job brother, you've broken the stereotypes, and you've given a great example of how you don't have to be defined by your past. I salute you👍
Congratulations to you for pursuing and persevering through that process. I am also beginning to start my own process after serving 3 years and completing post release and probation here in NC. I'm glad I came across your channel and I'm thrilled to know that you fought for and won back your 2nd amendment rights. As felons we are looked upon by the rest of society as somehow being less valuable and our lives and liberties not worth defending. Great work and thanks for the video!

Back in the days AFTER the civil rights movement, if you had a NON-VIOLENT felony, you had to wait 5 years from the time you were RELEASED from prison to get your gun rights restored, as long as you're NOT CONVICTED of ANOTHER felony. And in 10 years from the time you were RELEASED from prison you could get a governor or presidential pardon.
Yes at one time they did have that right but the law changed and a democratic dispute or domestic violence charges even though a person could be innocent as a blue bird like me I can never get my rights back to own a gun or hunt or be around a gun. They took a big piece of my life away and if I did do the crime it would be different but I honestly didn't and my wife will even say I didn't do anything the DA said he was going to make a example out of me.
Every thing you shared is spot on. My rights have been restored, my thing is I waited so long - 30 years. Every state is a little different in procedures, but the outcome is the same. I want to add this, once your rights are restored it will be posted at the top of your NCIS report. If you're stopped, when the cops radio in or look at the computer in their car, they know if your rights have been restored.
@@Rightsrestored556 I think he meant to say NICS(National Instant Criminal background Check System) , not NCIS. I'm pretty sure one's the federal background check system and one's a navy investigation bureau. Helpful information nonetheless.

These things won't appear to employers when the Background or CORI check. That is the beauty of it as well. Too often we end up(ex felon) suffer from lack of opportunity or a cap on the jobs that are the "GOOD PAYING" ones because we disqualified ourselves. Wow man, honestly I’ve been looking so deep into trying to get my gun rights restored. I lost my gun rights over a bullshit domestic 10+ years ago. I haven’t committed a violent crime nor did I commit a violent crime that day. I was actually the one that was getting hit and beat and I just try to get her off of me which then I got charged for domestic, but I want to just thank you for the bottom of my heart because I love guns and I’ve been really really wanting to be able to have the freedom of being able to purchase one inside of a store without that deep sinking feeling into my heart where I know I shouldn’t be in that store due to a bullshitdomestic that I really didn’t even commit thank you for sharing. This information is definitely restored a lot of hope inside my heart and I really appreciate the fact that you are talking about. If you can do it anyone can do it because that honestly means a lot of people keep on keeping on.
I’m currently working on getting my right’s restored from Mississippi. I was committed to a hospital involuntarily and until I saw your video didn’t have much hope.
Outstanding video very well done..shall not be infringed! If a released felon is so dangerous and can’t be trusted with a firearm then why were they released into society?! Sad you had even had to go through the process but good on you for following through and helping others with the process
Wow, you’ve done something that is so inspiring! I’ve been wondering what I can do about this as my father left me his favorite shotgun in his Will. My mother is still alive so it hasn’t come to the front lines yet but I am damn determined to make sure that I get his basically most valuable possession. He left it to me and I deserve it. I’ve never been to prison, just a few felonies that were pushed as high as the prosecution could out of spite, and I did at most 90 days in county jail. Along with probation. No violent crimes, however I’m not living in the same state as I was when he was alive. That’s in SC, now I live in one of the most highly gun regulated cities in America: NYC. And I know that is a huge problem. Hell you can’t even get a CCW if you were the Pope here! All that aside, this was really refreshing and I applaud you sir for doing this and spreading the truth!!! Bravo good man!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I just want to congratulate you for being honest and truthful. I have 100% faith in you and am proud you've made this milestone in your life. As for myself, I did my state's requirement of full restitution and the completion of a required 10yr period of clean redress status before becoming a restored-rights law abiding citizen. I'm ok to own firearms but not Federally. I can own blackpowder & modern cartridge firearms within my state, but cannot pass the 4473 paperwork for a National Background Check. So really, the state cannot arrest me for firearm violation but the Feds definitely could. So basically, I'm ok'ed to go with blackpower firearms without fear of violation of any laws, either state of Federal. It's been a long road, believe me.
Glad to here that. From the research I’ve done the ATF said they will not over step state law. The folks that get caught up are the ones with federal charges that get only state level restoration. The state can’t regulate federal but the Feds won’t arrest people who have state restriction with state charges. I have my CCW which requires a federal BG check. I also know a felon who has a FFL after state restoration.
Can you clarify the how, where, and what, a little more. Is that declaration stated in an affidavit filed with the Clerk of District County or Clerk of the Federal Court. In short, other than a simple declaration statement made to uh who? Tell the people how to getter done!
Thank you very much for the info my American brother. I'm sending much love to ya, needed to here this and am watching your video over and over. Many thanks again
I wish it was this easy in Texas. Weapons code 46.04 says there's a 5 year wait after release from supervision but you have to apply for a pardon thru the Governor and that can be few and far between on approval depending on who the Governor is. I've been off paper for 19 years and the initial conviction was in 96. Congrats man. I'm happy for ya. Keep doing what youre doing and maybe more states will come around.
Is it anyway that you could send me your blueprint to show me step by step of what you just showed on your video please I can pay for shipping and handling
Ive had many experiences where I was told one thing by one person and then told something totally different when talking to someone else. Ive learned that if you feel like you are not getting the correct answer or response its best to ask to speak with there boss or call back another day and hope to get someone else. Government/city workers are not always the most knowledgable bunch. Good job on researching and getting your rights back.

But yet you live here work here and want freedom to do what you want but feel you shouldn't suffer because of crimeful ways that's makes no sense

@@eternal_affairs not in TN

Thanks man! You helped me a lot with this video. You have the most in-depth description on how to do it.
I’m currently working on getting my right’s restored from Mississippi. I was committed to a hospital involuntarily and until I saw your video didn’t have much hope.
If you have a mental wellness record it is much harder and almost impossible. If that was an outcome of your involuntary commitment, try a taser
Im gonna see how this works in California.
How is your progress?
Any updates on your research?
Yes I have not been convicted for a violent felony. So I have researched what I need to do pertaining to a case that's 31 years old.
And what
Did you have to do@@nunyabizness9544
Thank you for the great video, and reminding me and everyone that, "Nobody will fight harder for your own rights than you."
You have rights to protect yourself regardless of these bogus laws!!!! I dont want my tool registered!!!
😂
Sadly your wrong
Good for you. Glad you found the right path in life. Spend the rest of your time helping others.
I RENOUNCED U.S. CITIZENSHIP and claimed my state as my country. Simple.
Why didn't I think of that 😂
Wym?
@douglasjohnson3836 I mean exactly what is stated. I'm not a U.S. Citizen. U.S. Citizens don't have Rights, only Privileges.
I'm also in Texas. Did u ever try and get your pardon and gun rights back?
Is it anyway that you could send me your blueprint to show me step by step of what you just showed on your video please I can pay for shipping and handling
Ive had many experiences where I was told one thing by one person and then told something totally different when talking to someone else. Ive learned that if you feel like you are not getting the correct answer or response its best to ask to speak with there boss or call back another day and hope to get someone else. Government/city workers are not always the most knowledgable bunch.
Good job on researching and getting your rights back.
About 15 years ago, I pled out to a lesser charge of Aggravated Battery. 3.5 years probation. No violations and completed. My Parish Employees told me the same thing about expungement and needing a lawyer. Your video was Informative and helpful. Prsh8 it! 👊👊
I have a non-violent felony (criminal mischief, state jail felony), and I was actually wavered into the Army during the war after I got out of jail for said felony, and I still can't own firearms. Thank you for your knowledge. 💯😊🙏
Are you in texas?
@@TexasPapa13 I am
@@REDi_Jedi_37 you can own them 5 years after release from supervision. Tx 46.04. But only on your own property.
You do an excellent presentation. You come across honestly and responsible. That really matters more than people think. Good luck.
Yo! Love the video im out here in the Northwest Washington/Idaho fighting the good fight helping as many felons as i can get their gun rights back. I was the first one in my county to get their rights back when we first filed the paperwork they replied with a denial my attorney then sent in paperwork saying we plan to take take legal action agint the county and sue for damages 3 days later i had my restoration papers in hand and the flood gates had been broken. In Washington its cut and dry they have no choice but to give your rights back its a sign here paper no court room appearance needed just a $240 filing fee.
Hey man is there any way we can connect? I have similar issues and I’m in Vancouver Washington. It’d be much appreciated!
Many lawyers don't want you to have any rights back because they see it as Lossing client and future refurales through you.
It's cool you did your work yourself. 📸
What's a "Lossing client"? And what is "refurales"? Power play?
@@tonyf.8858 I read that and got confused too. I don't get how someone has a smartphone but still cannot spell the most easy and simple words. Bless their hearts. Dummies should be banned from owning a smartphone.
@@DC4L_86 I didn't realize that a person could use their voice to do the text for them until recently. Can't even take the time to type! jeez!
@@tonyf.8858 I can't use that on my phone. Ever since my phone got wet the voice texting or whatever you wanna call it does not work really. It doesn't pick up my words clearly. It twists up my words horribly.Lol
@@DC4L_86 I had an I-phone I paid $650 a few years ago that had that feature but I never used it. In fact, the phone was so frustrating to use that I tossed it and went back to a flip phone.
You did well brother. You're clearly smarter than you thought and you did it. And you're helping others. Our constitution gives us our rights but sadly we have to fight for them... maybe not everyone deserves it. But most people do.
He said I hadn’t been out long enough to make that decision. I could get a bow for self defense and hunting. My wife could by her own gun. I was let off PRC early and would still be on PRC if I wasn’t off early. I don’t remember everything I told him that if I was still a risk, then I would not have been let out of prison nor of PRC. I told him that I don’t know how to bow hunt but because of military experience I’m good with the gun and I told him that I had too much to lose to rest reoffending.
Is there away I could talk to u privately
Will this work if I’m in Washington state ?
My felony happened in California now I'm in Colorado can you help me?
Goodevening, thanks for sharing. Did you get a form from the Courts to fill out?
@@jwsquare357 I’m in Illinois
I think that is just fucking awesome. I am very happy for you and will definitely follow you on your journey.
Thank You! I always wondered if i would be able to get my 2A rights back. Now I Will!
I hate the idea of begging for my rights.
I agree but at the end of the day it makes things easier on us. For sure it’s terrible that we have to go through this.
Then don’t
It's not begging it's fighting
@dongerz666 b.s. it's begging your political master's for permission to have a "privilege"... that is ALREADY YOUR NATURAL RIGHT. You people are pathetic. You deserve to have your privileges taken from you. If you were "fighting", we wouldn't be talking about begging in a court room.
Shouldn't have lost your rights. It's all about the Benjamins. 💸
