jimmydiresta I agree! I was scared for a minute, your guy's videos/podcasts make my day! Congratulations Bob I Like To Make Stuff and thanks to you, jimmydiresta, and Drunken Woodworker, and all the other makers/woodworkers out there!
jimmydiresta I dunno, he certainly got a scare out of me, so much so that I took a break at work to go watch the video. Looking forward to listing to the Making It podcast in the workshop this weekend. Keep up the good work guys!
Congratulations Bob! I'm so happy for you and I'm excited to see how far your channel is going to go now that you are doing this full time. You have all my support. High five.
I'm only 12 and I have always loved making things but I always have excuses not to as I have very limited tools but when I watch your videos I get inspired to make whatever I want to. I fail many times but when I succeed I get very proud of myself and it is all because of you. Thank you
This is quite a big deal! The effort you've put into your videos and your channel really does show, so now you have more time to dedicate to it you'll see some pretty huge channel growth I expect. Congratulations, and keep up the good work! :)
I manage the advertising at a True Value hardware store, and I've been sharing your videos on our televisions for our customers to see for a couple months now. I've had some good comments come through, telling me that the how-to videos are great and informative, and some asking who you are so they can look you up at home. Keep making awesome stuff and awesome videos!
So happy for you! I know exactly how it feels! I quit my job as a law professor about 3 years ago to do my UA-cam gig full time and just a few months ago my husband was able to quit HIS 9-5 job as well to work for me. It's an amazing feeling! Keep up the great work.
I Like To Make Stuff CONGRATULATIONS!! I am getting ready to leave my 9 to 5 as well and was stressing a little bit today about it. Suddenly, your video appeared :) :) Awesome! Awesome!!! \O/
Hi Bob, I did that once in 1970 and I loved it for a while, but I had not done sufficient market research. I wish you success and I hope that your utube videos continue. I do woodwork as a hobby but I get ocasional project requests. Your videos are a projection of your enthusiasm. regards Colin in Northern Ireland.
Congratulations! I have really enjoyed your videos over the last year or so and am really looking forward to more content. Thank you for the work you do.
Big step for you but since you did this in your Star Wars shirt, Doing what you love and make a living, "Do or do not, there is no try". Good luck, Bob and "May the force be with you".
Haha well the video was shown up today . Didn't know it was from 2015. I actually tell you because I'm watching you since one year. But I can tell you that your videos are awesome. Haven't found a better channel yet and I Guess i won't :-)
Bob, So happy for you! I forgot how fun it was to play in the shop, so thank you for creating great content on your channel. Thanks to you and your BrainPick videos, you've "introduced" me Izzy, Matthias, April, a couple of Steves and re-introduced me to my tools. Thanks for showing me not to be afraid of trying something new and inspiring me to use my workbench as a place to create again (as opposed to the catch-all for junk.) Looking forward to the new videos. Thanks again and congrats!!
I watch your videos with my kid. Thanks for doing them. I'm going through a similar thing right now with my career. Good luck and keep the videos coming.
Congrats Bob! It won't be easy for awhile but sometime down the road you will look back and be very happy with the decision to try something new. Best of luck!
Thank you bob!!!! I have recently just started watching you and I've been loving your videos!!!! Me and my dad are actually going to be making the project of floating shelves and we're super excited!!
Well, you're welcome! You have done a lot to inspire me and I look forward to seeing what you do with your new full-time focus on ILTMS. Congrats, you've earned it.
I Like To Make Stuff Way to go BOB, I am cheering for you in your new full time position. I wish you the best, and its a really good thing for us subs too, cause we get more content, more often. Sweeeeeeet.
I just had a quick read of what you wrote. I really like that one line said. " I want people to realize that they're capable of more then they think". You can definitely do this man! Work hard, stay positive and most important have fun :)
I found this channel in early 2017, and it's awesome. Which means I went back throughout the history of the channel. This vid explains a lot, especially about Bobs intent of the future vids. I'm with ya, man. 'Till the end of the line.
Bob, I have been following you channel for nearly 4 years now. I am very happy to see how far you have come, and I look forward to many more videos. I think about starting my own channel and seeing this again makes me want to do it. I just haven't a clue what content I'd bring up. I digress. This is amazing Bob. I am very excited that you are able to do this full time. You defiantly have worked hard to evolve the channel. And I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
Congrats to you Bob! I have always enjoyed your presentations even when I don't have a clue (electrical). I look forward to more from you in the future and suspect it will be the same high quality or higher projects that you have always put out. The best to you!
Congrats Bob! I've followed you from the start and enjoy hearing your good news. I have a hard time balancing 2 jobs AND making maker videos so I understand your excitement (with your extremely calm demeanour, compared to say...April Wilkerson's "I quit video"). Looking forward to listening to this week's Making It Podcast!
I Like To Make Stuff I know you aren't looking for new projects (your to-do list is like a mile high, like most of us). I make slingshots and other small woodworking stuff in my tiny shop, check out my channel if you want another idea :D
Good luck! You've been a lot of fun to watch and have even gotten me to try a few new things. Looking forward to seeing where you are taking all this - I'll keep watching.
CONGRATS!!! It's a tough scary decision going out on your own. I am in my 15th year of owning my own business and it still scares me at times - but it is also exciting and I'll never go back to working for somebody else. Good luck Scott
Hi there bob, i wanted to say Congratulations, You have made an impact on many people, and i am one of them, your videos are inspiring. Just know that you touch people from around the world (i am from Morocco) and thanks to videos like yours I found myself a hobby that I like. Thank YOU.
Congrats on getting to do what you love for a living!! I am a new woodworker and you're channel is one of my favorites and opens my eyes to a lot of stuff. I can't wait to see what you do now!
No you're welcome I came across you vlogs and I realized what I really like about your site is the truth about you making a mistake and then just keep going other sites you can see where they cut out their mistakes so to me it's not natural that's what we got hooked on watching you and see what I would like to try do congrats and happy for you
That's is so awesome Bob. I saw April was also able to do he work now in the shop now full time. It's so amazing that there are people out there sharing their skills , knowledge and know with us on you tube. In a world filled with technology it's nice to to see there are people out there with gifts or skills that actually make things but also in saying that technology allows the rest of the world to see people like you and the rest of the wood workers on UA-cam to share their skills and knowledge with us. I hope to be getting started soon with UA-cam. Regards Craig
I'm recently subscribed to your channel and it is amazing to see how much this channel has improved over years. I think I watched almost 20+ of your videos in 1 week. I like to make stuff too but living in the city really doesn't allow such option. Thank you for sharing all the stuff and you should have more subs! Way to go Bob!
This is great news! Relatively new to your channel but you have great content! keep up the great work and many kudos for the gutsy move. Nothing great comes from sitting around being complacent at a normal 9 to 5'er job.
I'm 14 and I've reaaaalllyyy been loving your videos, especially the one where you made the guitar for rob. This is my new favorite channel and I've been up all night watching your videos. Thanks for such an awesome channel
You've come a long way Bob. Years ago I would watch/listen to your maker interviews. I've been listening to your podcast for years as well. I just figured out why your videos never pop up on the feed, UA-cam doesn't recall me subscribing. So I've revisited your channel, resubscribed, and WOW. It has come a long way. You've really inspired this budding content creator to step it up a notch, and polish stuff up more. You're stuff is really clean, impressive, and... marketable.
Congrats man, you're pretty much my go to when it comes to building or watching just to watch with no intention on building it just for motivation to do something else (buildwise). Your videos are very entertaining and informative, plus its awesome watching someone who genuinely loves doing what they do especially when you share the same interest. Congrats on the ballsy move, I did the same about 1.5 years ago and never looked back.
Fantastic news, man! I'm a huge fan of your videos (and the Making It podcast with Jimmy and David) so I'm glad to hear this is going well. And I'm SUPER glad we can look forward to more regular uploads! Can't wait to see more on that arcade you've been teasing... ;)

You're stuff is really clean, impressive, and... marketable.
Thanks Nate! I really appreciate that!
wish you all the best for your new adventure.
Congrats! You are doing what you want in life like all of us should. That is brave!
Congrats! Welcome to the club;)
Good for you! Power forward Dude!!
